  1. Salam, Yes, one time when I was 14. While I was laying down on my bed, my breath stopped and my vision circle became smaller and smaller until complete darkness. Then the vision started to open up again, but no on this world. It was beautiful! I turned my face to my right shoulder and I saw instantaneously all the goodness that I had done in chronologically order. When I turned to my left shoulder,.... I got really scare. I beg Allah swt to return, to obey him, to pray...very desperate. Can't even describe it. It was very desperate situation. I am lucky, I was given a chance to

On the occasion of the completion of the religion and the perfection of the divine favours with the appointment of Imam Ali (a.s) on the DAY OF GHADEER, I want to congratulate you for being among those who hold unto the leadership (Wilayat) of 'Amir-al-Mu'mineen'. May Allah include us among their sincere followers and the helpers of their noble course,

    Where is Allah?

@Samia123 In addition, I read a story that one of our great scholars said: I have prayed to Allah for 40 years and did not receive what I wanted, after this 40 years I figured out that it was not for my benefit, that's why it was not given to me.

    Gender ROLES

@Shia.a What is the problem exactly? I would like to share something with you. I used to be a christian woman who used to think just like you, i would curse islam because I USED TO THINK it votes for sexual inequality, and i was even AGAINST marriage because i wouldn't want to marry a christian man that will eventually cheats over me, who will have mistresses or simply just go to a nightclub. I even hated the nature of men. Then I was introduced to Islam and to ahlulbayt(as), and everything changed, my whole life and mentality. Suddenly everything made sense, because a MAN OF GOD would Ne

The following are some unstructured thoughts I've been having recently, that I unfortunately don't have the time to type up in a more coherent way, but that I hope may be of some use to others insha'Allah. First let me define what 'apologetics' means, because people often make an incorrect association with the common meaning of 'apology'. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Apologetics In other words, when a Muslim defends Shi'ism against Sunnis, or Islam against Christianity (or atheists), they are doing apologetics. This is a field of study with a long history in most world relig

    Toe injury

Salam, Have you been to a doctor? The treatment for toe injuries like yours, hoping it's not a fracture and just a sprain, is RICE. R - Rest I- Ice (apply 4/5 times a day) C- Compression E- Elevation Take OTC pain medication for pain. Another thing is to tape your toe to the next uninjured toe (Buddy taping). DO this only if you don't have Diabetes or Peripheral arterial disease. May Allah hasten your recovery.

  11. At the end of Ramadan this year I was in a car crash. I was driving home from the mosque when a taxi pulled out of the junction in front of me, I slammed on the brakes thinking I was going to hit him for sure. But alhamdulilah I didn't. I sat there for half a second thinking I was safe but then there was a terrible crash as someone had hit the back of me. I cannot describe the fear I felt, I felt like I was being ripped from the world. I had to pinch myself to make sure I was alive. Alhamdulilah I escaped only with a few bruises. All I can say is, never ever get into a car without putting a se

    Where is Allah?

@Samia123 Never think for a moment that if you did not get what you wanted then Allah did not listen to your prayers. At the time of prophet Ibrahim (as) he saw an old man, he started having a conversation with him (the old man did not know this is prophet Ibrahim (as). Then prophet Ibrahim asked the old man if he (the prophet) can be the old's man guest. The old man accepted, but said: there is one problem, my house is in a place where you have to cross a river first and there is no boat that we can use to cross the river. prophet Ibrahim said: then how do you usually cross the river? o

I think I've come close to death several times, I used to be very reckless, like for example, when I was very young, I got a big stone hit in my head and blood gushed out without noticing it, also when I was young, I had boiling water fall on my neck and I fell in coma, also I threw myself on the corner of my bed at night, and it was very close to my eye so I could have become blind, however it struck my eyebrows instead and now I have a scar there. But alhamdulillah, Allah (swt) saved me every time.

  18. 1. Do not judge : like I have seen some posters doing in this thread. You see a sister with a less than perfect hijab but you don't know the reason behind it. It could be that she lacks in faith or does not attach importance to religion but there are chances that she comes from a non practising, hostile towards hijab family and this is the best she can do while still living with them. Not directed at you brother Sina but like some others have said 'either do it properly or don't do it', what effect would it have on sister who is already struggling with hijab due to criticism from parents, disc

  24. Brave New World > 1984 The latter shows us a world in which human desires are curbed to an extreme measure, and the submission to these desires is glorified as a revolutionary act. Brave New World got it right: you don't control people by forcing them to act against their desires, you control them by letting them drown themselves in desires. This is why we don't really see so called "totalitarian" systems anymore, after the falls of fascism and then communism. Orwell was an establishment shill and his work is crap. Why he continues to be a sort of literary idol is beyond me.

  25. You're correct brother. But we cannot forget ashura, in fact our every day becomes the day of ashura after the tragedy of karbala. We are fighting injustice & opression, but what to do with these eyes, whenever the name of karbala comes on our tongues, they start shedding tears. Our hearts start crying, these tears & cry is the source of our steadfastness. It revives our promise & commitment that we will never forget karbala & continue our jihad.

This of course made me think of death again and I was wondering, Have you every came close to dying and how did you feel afterwards and during ? oddly while chocking I had a strong urge to do salah, my mind kept repeating, just one more time, just one more time, it was a very weird and scary feeling.

I'd prefer to leave the majority of client interaction to others and just do my design thing, even if that means lower status in the workplace and lower pay. There is absolutely no reason why I couldn't or shouldn't work from home, except that employers in my profession are reluctant to do things in new ways and it's not the way things have always been done. If we Muslims helped each other out instead of competing with or ignoring others, we could really make positive changes in our society. P

I prefer to hold patience here, may the Almighty pour patience upon me & grant me steadfastness. What is your status to judge that & make such conclusion? No one is following you. You're just a waste of time. This is not correct, Your heart basically is drowned in the ideology of kufr, that might be the reason you're unable to distinguish between kufr & emaan. 36. Opinions of some prominent scholars on zawaj al mut3a; Sayed Sistani in describing Mutah: "We should not accept every halal on ourselves and on whoever is attached to us." The Sayed goes on to describe Mutah and compare it to something that is neither acceptable in terms of akhlaaq nor acceptable socially, and something that could seriously damage the reputation of the person engaging in it. From this, he says, we come to the concept of "extreme makrooh" which describes sexual gluttony, such as in the following cases : 1) Mutah is makrooh for married people Sayed Sis

  37. 1- We do not take opinions of scholars especially if said opinion contradicts hadiths and narrations (although I will look into this). As for the context of the Hadith, I referred to events and words said before and after the Hadith which ALL seem to be in our favour of proving Ghadeer Khum was when the Prophet s.a.w appointed Imam Ali a.s as the successor of believers. Again, stop giving me definitions. 2- Let's take a look at this entire narration then. It seems to be referring to the merits of Imam Ali a.s. This is interesting: ‎وروى الثعلبي عن أبي منصور الجمشازي، عن محمد

  38. Its obvious. You cannot impose your maraja's fatwa on other people following different one. Almost all the mujtahid has fatwa about it. And if someone believes this is not a part of Furu-e-deen then again no one can say him anything. All I can say that this was not a sane 'discussion'.

What you are saying is very dangerous things, you do not realize right now what you are saying but if you would study more about your religion and more about the nature of Allah(SWT) more about the nature of humans, you would realize just how incorrect what your saying is. This kind of "islam needs to change to the modern society" thinking is something I hear from two groups: People who hate islam or people who severely lack knowledge of islam, so they do not really know what islam says and what islam is. Zoroastrians were considered dhimmis, but not the same as Kitabis. Marriage with Zoroastrians was forbidden or disliked by the Imams. Concubines however can be non-Kitabis: محمد بن علي بن الحسين بإسناده ، عن الحسن بن محبوب ، عن العلاء بن رزين ، عن محمد بن مسلم ، عن أبي جعفر ( عليه السلام ) قال : سألته عن الرجل المسلم يتزوج المجوسية ؟ فقال : لا ، ولكن إذا كانت له أمة مجوسية فلا بأس أن يطأها ويعزل ع
