    Finals Week

Salaam everybody, How are you? Inshallah, not overly stressed  Stressed... yes! Because FINALS, the dreadful FINALS week is soon approaching. And within a few days those of you writing finals, will go into the exam room and (if you are one of those people who always arrive EXTRA early because you have made yourself think its a criteria for writing finals) will stare blankly into the empty room, and wait, and wait, and wait...into every 15 minute intervals where more students begin occupying the classroom, and as this happens your anxiety escalates, because that means the time IS. 5. The main obstacle humans have in coming nearer to God is a blocked heart. What is blocking it? You are blocking it with yourself (nafsuk). Let me explain. You see heart really does not belong to you. If you read the ahaadeeth about this it will confirm this. Your heart is like the Ka'bah. You have to remove all idols big and small from it before the (ruh) enters it, before Allah enters it. Ruh is from the command of Allah. If I told you where Ruh is trapped in your body, you would feel sad. Just let us say it is not in a holy place. This may seem hard, and it is hard, but the goal in l

  7. Brother, I am not trying to make you feel bad, but this position that you have stated is typical of a young person who has not experienced much of 'real life' yet. You don't have to go looking to place yourself or others in difficulties and trials from Allah(s.w.a). Those will come your way, sometimes when your older or sometimes when you're younger. 'Be sure that We will test them with loss...' Holy Quran. To say that I will get another wife in order to test her or test my other wives is different from the reasons our Prophet(s.a.w.s) and Imams(a.s) did this. They married women to be a me

Just read one topic which is this small Shiapen article's supposed refutation, the so-called 'Lions' of Islam after some gibberish said that this Ibn Tamiyyah's quote: refers to only those who killed Hussein (as), when Ibn Taymiyyah in his own words above says of not just those who killed Hussein but also those who contribution or pleased with it. Muslims And Shamelessness

You underestimate the influence of parents. I probably could only name two familes in my community that truly taught their kids about hijab for both men and women in a way that gave them deep understanding. Most parents are like "Women must wear hijab or they will go to Hell!" or worse, parents do not promote hijab at all. Lots of mothers wear hijab but literally only wear the headscarf. They gossip, wear sparkly clothes, sometimes even talk to men, and you expect their daughters to know what proper hijab is out of the blue? It angers me because then at the age of 18, 19 20, we young women hav

Although I have never found any correlation between that and any other significant events? Is it always in the left ear (I don't really pay much attention to it so can't remember if it was my right or left)? Although it could possibly be because of sound waves/frequencies or something as we know that humans and animals operate on different levels? You cannot ask for a total system overhaul just because of your religious views...otherwise you'd open a pandora's box and replicate the chaos of ME all over. Mixing religion and governing in modern multicultural, multi lingual, multi sectarian, and multi national world would be a recipe for disaster. Even countries who culturally are anti-imperialistic and they support social justice and all that... they still have widening wealth disparity, themselves. The neo-liberal economic model has become undisputed; it is the global “default.” The remaining communist countries have -- since the fall of communism, adopted radical economic reforms (like China and Vietnam). Even the less willing Cuba and North Korea have accepted limited reforms. Likewise, Iran, though it was nev

Studying Shaykh Muhammad Sanad's views on Ilm al-Rijal in his Vol. 1 of the series - Mabani Fi Ilm al-Rijal - is interesting, the Shaykh leads a new and novel camp in Rijal studies that is opposed to the traditionalist camp of Sayyid al-Khoei by raising the flag of so-called 'Qarainism'. The main difference is that Shaykh Sanad allows for Ijtihad in Rijal in modern times, although there are many other differences that stem from this cardinal divergence. This thread is there to translate some of his views due to the importance that they have been attracting in the current times from different

Deobandis are very small minority in Pakistan and they are aware of this fact that by challenging both Sunni Brailvees and Shias openly they can not survive therefore, they have started the strategy of attacking them secretly behind the back. Like they plant bombs in processions, they prepare young teen boys for suicide attacks. If you want to exist you would have to defend youreself from their terror and sa

  36. Taqwa has been translated in so many different ways that most Muslims have lost sight of its real meaning, so I want to explain it to you, so you can inform others. Taqwa literally means "to protect ones self". You will find in the Qur'an the term Taqwa al-Quloob which means to protect your heart, but from what? From your nafs. Heart belongs to Allah so it is a precinct of love that only belongs to Allah. If you allow your nafs to enter the heart it means you have no taqwa. We mentioned more details about heart in our other post. Taqwa comes from the word Waqaa which is used in the popular Qur

(bismillah) (salam) I feel very sorry for the thought content of this thread, for why it was started, and for what it has degenerated into. I don't think the thread elicits any proper discussion into any problems with youth either. Why do I feel so? The thread starts with saying: Muslims and Shamelessness. Already denouncing some of the youth. But why make this strong statement? Surely, the reason that 'because they're not observing Hijab' is not sufficient. If, unfortunately, it is, then I suggest we raise our standards; condemning somebody is indeed a powerful action to do, and
