  2. Actually, I would have to say that when I was little we didn't know what Nintendo was. :) We played in the trees, with the horses, the corn fields, the rivers, and the woods. My mom just told me a few days ago that I use to cover my little brother in mud from head to toe, because "Thats what pigs do". Now that is a good childhood. :D

  3. Salamunalaikum, Hazrat Ali (as) and the other Imams were the most handsome people of their times and those who malign them are either ignorant or do so out out of some evil intention. People have tried to spread such beliefs about the Holy Prophet (s.a.w.w.) and his family because their leaders could never match the beauty of the family of Bani Hashim. Their leaders were dark, children of slave women, and ugly so just to save face and to hide their ugliness, they say so about the family of the Holy Prophet (s.a.w.) All those people who spread such beliefs should be ready to face the Holy Prophet (s.a.w.w.) on the day of judgement. May Allah (s.w.t.) curse those who malign the Holy Prophet (s.a.w.w.) and his family Khudahaafiz

  4. Salam Alekum, Brother and Sisters, For a long time now, I have been wanting to write a book on the Prophet Isa(a.s) based on the ayats in the Quran. I wanted to write the book in English and geared toward a Christian audience. I have started the book several times. I am never happy with what I wrote so I end up getting frustrated and delaying more. I am afraid that if I write it and make a mistake, then I will be punished for spreading false information. All these thoughts start to creep into my head to stop me. Also, I work full time and have three small children so I don't really have that much time, but I know it is something I need to do. How do I get and stay motivated to complete this project.

  6. Salam alaikum my brothers and sisters, Yesterday my baby and I were in a car accident. I thought my husband would be upset, but alas, he isn't! He said that he is just happy that the baby and I are okay. "Money and things on earth come and go, family you can loose so easily and will not be able to retrieve in this life." Alhamdulilah that Allah saw fit for me and the baby to see another day. The accident could have been so much worse then it was, especially how much damage the car had- it doesn't even work now. I don't even know what really happened, another car collided with mine, and all I saw was white- the air bag, and then I blacked out for a few minutes. I woke up hearing my baby cry, jumped out of the car, and got the baby out as quickly as I could. Right after the accident a Muslim family that I had seen 3 times before, but we had never spoken to each other, happen to drive by and stopped for us. The wife took care of the baby and kept him in the air conditioned car while her husband helped me deal with the police and the others involved in the accident. Alhamdulilah, see how Allah provides? He sent a trustworthy family to watch the baby and make sure Ahmad didn't get too hot. The husband of the family helped me a lot when it came to the car and moving it, and watched over the baby and I until my husband came to pick us up. It got me to thinking, what if that day was my last? Would I be satisfied with my life? What if today was your last day? Would you be satisfied with the life you have lived? Insha'Allah we will all strive to better ourselves as Muslims and not get lost in this Dunya.

  7. You start off with your extremely limited cherry picked selection of accounts to tell us all that Ali (as) was bald, fat, black, short and had small arms. What else is the actual purpose of this thread then if not to hurt the Shia of Ali (as) by calling our Imams ugly with the help of that particular selection of accounts that helps you portray a physically less desirable or ugly image of them?

  8. (bismillah) I don't know about Imam `Ali [as], but the other Imams [as] were definitely darker. Most of our Imams [as] (afaik, iirc) were born from slave women - black slave women. The likliness that al-Qa'im [as] is black is high. The picture thing is still true, although. في امان الله

  9. (salam) 1. If he was black skinned do you really think the racist arabs would have even looked at him? or put up with him? especially umar? race doesn't matter but if you are trying to guide the worst of people, you have to do it in a way that they can't escape from - and that would only work if he was an arab - not to mention you would have found waaay more insults in the books. 2. All you have are sunni references 3. "large stomach" / "pot-belly" are obvious insults - more than likely just fake hadith

    Taking Off Hijab

Hmmmm I think taking off your hijab for a few $$$ is not a good idea. Its hard, i know, i mean i dont wear one LOL but i have been through difficulties before similiar to yours. If you fold , then your really not giving Allah swt much credit, Allah has mentioned in the Quran many times that He is the Best of All Planners. You know before i got married, i was broke, and i work as a tradesman, which mind you doesnt have the "ethical values" and manners that most other environments have, but never the less, i got along well with everyone, but as the tests of life play out, it got to a point that when the boys found out i was getting married, and i was settling down, they started to get really nasty. Especially because my wife wears a Hijab, and obviously i dont do the things that they do, so they started to sledge Islam, and the Rasul a.s , and i warned them many times not to play around like that, yet a few weeks later they would drop a smart arse remark and i would fume and want to smash heads. Eg, i was told "now that your getting married, are you going to cover your wife in a rug and make her walk 5 meters behind you in public" , or "are you going to let your wife leave the house, or drive a car" etc etc etc and then the conversations about the Rasul and Aiisha came in , and the last straw was when he called the Rasul a.s a pedophile, i told him to shut his mouth and explained everything to them, yet they still didnt get it. Anyways i was face with a real massive problem. Do i keep working with these guys for the $$$ and put up with that stuff ? do i become a sell out like the other Leb/Iraqi/Persian guys who were there who used to laugh with them when they would insult our religion ? In the end i just left because if i had gone to work for one more day, and put up with one more comment i would of killed someone, because i like to think im a patient guy, but when i lose it, i lose it. I sent them an sms and explained everything and WHY i didnt and it was for their own personal benefit that they do not see me, because i was going to hurt them if i did lol. So i put my faith in Allah swt, and said to myself Allah is my PROTECTOR and Allah will PROVIDE, and provide He did lol. 2 weeks later i ended up working with a guy, and i made DOUBLE what i was making before, then a month after that i started working for my self and made TRIPLE of what i used to make with the old red necks. i know i dragged on a little, but morale of the story is, STAND YOUR GROUND, things do not come easy, but with persistence and motivation anything is accomplish-able with the Almighty by your side Do your best, God will do the rest :) Salams Keep it on, you never know you might meet, mr rich and you will never have to work a day of your life lol, just hang in there oh dear flag of Islam, because we need MORE women like you to keep us men strong !!!!

  11. As I said in the previous post, people need to think through what actions Iran can take, what the reactions to them will be and the net result. Syria is taking a pounding for siding with Iran, Hizbollah are painted as Persian stooges and so on. If Iran says much it will be blown out of proportion and if it does anything tangible - it will be game-over for the Shias in Pakistan. OTOH supporting broad Muslim causes allows Iran to portray Shias as Muslims, first and foremost, something the Salafis want to deny. By being Shia chauvinists, in their anger, some people are playing into the Salafi's hands.

  12. 18-07-2012 - The Secretary General of the Lebanese Resistance Movement Hezbollah, Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, highlights how easily the Arab and Muslim Ummah (nation) can become deceived, incited, and led astray, via the pettiest of issues which stir religious sectarianism. Sayyed Nasrallah stresses on the dire need to avoid religious sectarianism, especially surrounding Shia-Sunni issues, in order to protect the whole Ummah. Sayyed Nasrallah was speaking at a ceremony marking the 6th Anniversary of the July 2006 victory over Israel.

  13. @Truth1234: I didn't trust your motives from the off on this thread, it smells of a cack-handed way of denigrating Maula Ali (as). So I clicked on the link you provided and look what I stumbled upon: - Abu Bakr: "He was white-skinned, skinny, with thin cheeks. He had a wrinkly face, deepset eyes, a protruding forehead, and he would dye his beard with henna and oil it." "He was white or yellow-skinned, handsome, with thin legs. His izar would not stay firmly tied around his waist." 2 - 'Umar bin al-Khattab: "He was white-skinned, leaning towards redness. He was tall, balding, and had white hair around his head." "He was very tall, and extemely bald. He had reddened skin, thin cheeks, and the edges of his mustache were long and dark red." "He would walk so fast that it was as if he was riding a horse while those around him were walking." "He used to dye his hair with henna." 3 - 'Uthman bin 'Affan: "He was not tall or short. He had a handsome face, a long beard, dark skin, wide shoulders, and he would dye his hair with saffron. He would cap teeth with gold." 'Abdullah bin Hazm said: "I saw 'Uthman, and I never saw a man or woman more beautiful than him." as-Sa'ib said: "I saw him dying his beard yellow, and I never saw an old man more handsome than him." 4 - 'Ali bin Abi Talib: "He was balding, but had much hair left, as if he was wearing a sheepskin. He was of medium height, with a large belly and a large beard." "He had a yellow beard." "He dyed his beard with henna once, then he never used it again." "His hair and beard were white, like cotton." ash-Sha'bi said: "I saw 'Ali with a white beard, and I never saw anyone with a larger beard then he." "He had heavyset, large eyes, and he was closer to being short." Physical appearance in and of itself doesn't define a person's character entirely but I notice that 1, 2 and 3 all got great write-ups.... ALI

  14. Where exactly are you getting that adma means black? Some say it's synonymous with asmar, meaning tawny, wheatish color, while some say it means humra or bayad, white. One reason I find it doubtful to think that the Banu Hashim were darker complexioned is because of the reaction some of them had to the birth of one of the later Imams, who it is said was in fact so (remembering the later Imams were all born of slave women), where they doubted his being one of them by saying they'd never had someone like that amongst them. Had Amir al-Mu'mineen (as) and others of the Banu Hashim all been black, you'd think they would have remembered that (if not been black themselves).

Bismehe Ta3ala, Assalam Alikum. The racism in this thread is revolting and sickening. Shame on you. Imam Ja’far al-Sadiq (a) reported from the Prophet (s) who said: "Whosoever possesses in his heart 'asabiyyah (prejudice in any of its forms such as tribalism, racism, nationalism) even to the extent of a mustard seed, God will raise him on the Day of Resurrection with the (pagan) Bedouins of the Jahiliyyah (the pre-Islamic era).” [Al-Kulayni, al-Kafi, vol. 2, bab al ‘asabiyah, p. 308, hadith # 3] M3 Salamah, FE AMIN Allah

    Taking Off Hijab

As a guy I can't really understand what it's like wearing a hijab over here. So I'm not going to tell you that you need to keep it on, but I think you already know the value of keeping your modesty. I will offer some suggestions though. If you live in a city with a big college, they often hire folks to work in the food services of their school. Or there could be a research lab on campus that needs someone to wash beakers and glass and stuff. You could be a baby sitter/nanny. You could teach CPR/First Aid classes (after you get certified to teach yourself). You could try every fast food place within reasonable driving distance to you. Or if you're good at cleaning, offer maid services. Some of these jobs aren't glamorous or ideal, but money is money, and none would require you to give up anything you may hold important.

  19. Apart from the obvoius brother, why is all the pressure always on Iran ? They have their own problems to deal with. Iraq has alot of Shia why dont people want their support ? India has alot of Shia, same as the rest of us scattered everywhere. What about the ex USSR Shiite nations ? Its as though they are non existent. Iran will help, only when those who are suffering want to help themselves. Until then its a dead end cause, just like the letters that were sent to Imam Husayn a.s

  25. We can argue about appearance all we want but fact of the matter is that islam teaches us to look at charachter and not appearance. Truth1234 charachter wise Imam Ali was far supperior to all the sahabas and that's what matters. (I feel bad having said this as you can't even put sahabs and Imam Ali in the same league, let alone compare their charachters). Another point I wanted to make is that beauty is in the eye of the beholder, those who love him and his charachter, he will always be beautiful to them, and those who had bughz wouldnt want to accept that he was handsome.

  26. "Hazrat Abbas (a.s.) grew up to be a tall and handsome man. He was so tall, that when he sat on a horse his feet touched the ground. He was so handsome that he was known as Qamar-e-Bani Hashim, the Moon of the family of Hashim." Source: http://www.qul.org.au/library/our-imams/950-hazrat-abbas-as- I don't talk without sources regarding Ahlul Bayt (as). Rest is up to you if you want to believe or not considering you do believe some really weak sources at times, this shouldnt be a problem.

  28. As far as i have read, Imam Ali (as) physical body is never recorded. For example: Its well known Hazrat Abbas (as) looked ALOT like Imam Ali (as) to the point when in Siffin people couldnt tell if Imam Ali (as) is fighting or someone else. Also known fact is Hazrat Abbas was VERY tall, when he used to sit on horse his feet used to touch the ground ( we are talking about over 7 feet here now). So there goes the hypothesis of medium height. Hazrat Abbas was also called the Moon of Bani Hashim, again if that is used as reference then Imam Ali (as) probably was really handsome too.

  29. hahaha Thats your refutation? So Prophet Mohammad (pbuh) said in YOUR sources so it must be true that Dajjal can live for this long? And if Prophet Mohammad (pubh) said the same about Mehdi (as) in OUR sources obviously its false and Kufr and what not. Dude, you cant use that reasoning.

  31. So are you saying that if a person is black-skinned, he can't be handsome??? Are you saying that in order to be handsome, you have to not be dark-skinned??? Where did you get this thinking from? It's certainly not from Islam. Where did you get such satanic thoughts? I'm interested in hearing your response to my questions here.

  32. Wa Sallam. If Ali (as) was black then wouldn't Muhammad (saw) also be black? Abu Talib would have to be dark and thus Abdullah would be black. Or do you mean dark-skinned from the sun or something? Or that his mother was possibly a black slave? Ali (as) was known not to eat much. How did he have a large stomach? As a caliph he ate very modestly. Sometimes just water and bread. He did not want to eat anything more than the poorest Muslims at the time... Imam Ali said: "Eating light meals, and nobility are more lasting for our health. When God the Glorious wishes the well being of His servant, He shall inspire him/her to talk less, to eat less and to sleep less". (Mizan al Hikmat, v1, p 116)

  35. It is a well known fact that most of Imam Ali (as) 's meals consisted of dried bread and milk. He would sew his own shoes and barely spend anything on himself for his own pleasure and there is a well known hadith about how he and Bibi Faatima S.A gave their food away 3 days in a row while they were fasting. I think that pretty much sums up how credible the reports are of him having a "large stomach/pot belly" NauzuBillah Large stomach and pot belly are terms more reserved for people like Muawiy L.A and Yazid L.A

  37. No but at least you could try to refute what the o.p. is saying based on other narrations, simply saying he is trying to hurt the shi'a by bringing these narrations isn't a good argument, because some of them are also in our sources. It can't be denied people have been overly influence by those vile pictures that are circulating, even to the extent that there was thread not long ago, which claimed that Imam Mahdi (a) had been seen in iraq simply because there was a man who looked similar to the pictures. this is the thread

And they have ability to change their faith easily....however when you say the N word who will find it offensive....our dark skinned brothers and sister who do not have the ability to change this.....also our Ma'sumeen (as) will find it offensive because many have dark skinned mothers and wives and friends....so if you do not censor it for the dark brothers, do it at least for the Ahlul Bayt (as).....and if you are not gonna do this, have the self respect at least to not call this website Shi'a Chat.

  40. Why does the title say for married people only? It should say: "for anyone with decency and a conscience" because they would all tell you she's his wife and he better stand by her while they get this figured out. And he needs to figure out that he's destroying the sacredness of their relationship by telling others about her PERSONAL health issues.

What Is The Point Of Wudu?

(salam) Not quite but close~ and mind you modern science won't accept any of this.. but anyways: you have 3 energy meridians that run along the forearm, and when you wash with water it cleanses the energy/etheric body (which might be why you feel calmer). Also - the direction of energy flow in the meridians is away from the elbow (towards the fingers) - and that's probably why we wipe in that direction instead of wiping the other way~ (salam)

  42. I don't suggest that is all going on, I suggest that more than that is going on, and that is an open war on the entire Shia Muslims and their allies... one of Alawites crimes = as being considered a sub-Shia sect, and the second crime being the backbone of those who fight the Zionist expansions in the region, and the third one being the only Arab ally of the IRI, aside from Iraq. The details being wrong or right, or how bad the loss of life is just part of an open war that is imposed on Shia Iran and its allies regionwide! Assad or no Assad, Baathist or no Baathist, Maliki or no Maliki, Hizbullah or no Hizbullah, we are not going to enjoy or help the genocide of Shias again in any region, be it the poor neighborhoods of North Yemen, or in Basra or Beirut or the homeland of Banu Ummayads. Yes, there might be some horrible scenes, wave of propaganda, disturbing images of war, all we can say is that we are sorry for them. Out of our power to stop them, but one thing is for sure that the Zionists who were disappointed in Iraq for not having a full charge and control because of Shia Iraqi clergies, and were not successful to bring Islamic Republic down to its knees and make her bow down over its nuclear and other political issues, are out there with a full force of their Takfiri and Wahabi tools and Salafis madness to avenge. The signs and actions are clearly visible from Saudi to UAE, from Egypt to Syria and from the daily bombing of different Iraqi cities.

If it was pre-existing (and serious) then it's a little dishonest to not mention it beforehand but I'm sure her positive attributes outweigh this one 'negative' and no family highlights 'defects' in their daughters. Unless they're blindingly obvious in which case they have no choice. 25 years old is not a child though. He should be a man about it and get her medically checked then sit down with her and discuss their joint future based on the seriousness (or otherwise) of her condition. ALI
