Thoughts: I can't stop thinking about how you died. It's haunting almost - though somehow, I am not as broken, not as bruised. What is getting to me is that, we could have sorted things out before it all happened, we could have talked it over, you could have lived. Though it was out of my hands, and never caught you in time. I'll miss you so much, and I pray that God forgives you and has mercy on you because you were a dead set amazing girl who never hurt a living person. I wish you let the Beloved solace your heart and ease your pain instead of doing what you did. I wish. Rest in peace my darling Layla, and I hope to God we meet again.6 points

Wow. Its a real shame to see people who's akhlaq is normally very good, are letting anger overcome them. How about no one judges anyone but themselves? Why do people feel the need to scoop to the low levels of others? Imam Ali (as) says: "The best friend is good mannerism. It is the title of the believers' record books." "Blessed are those who exchange intimate terms with people for the sake of obedience to Allah" "One who says unpleasant things about others, will himself quickly become a target of their scandal" "A fool's mind is at the mercy of his tongue and a wise man's tongue is under the control of his mind" Come on servants of Allah سبحانه وتعالى, AKHLAQ!!!!!!5 points

whether this is real or not, we all have something definitly in life where we had been ashamed of something or someone, especially the sisters in the west constantly in jihad with their "unusual" apperance to the west and "unusal" behaviour and how the western world receives them please do not be offended by this, this story is meant to make you realize that behind every such hurtful though or words, there is somebody who bears it out and we dont really appreciate what we have until we dont have it may Allah forgive us and guide us to truth4 points -
Mir Sayyid Ali Hamadani, a Shaf'i scholar, writes in his book, Mawaddatt-Al-Qurba in Mawadda 5, that many companions quoted Umar in different places as having said that the Prophet made Ali the chief and leader of the nation and that the Prophet announced publicly that Ali was their master. Umar was also quoted saying that on the day of that announcement, a handsome youth was sitting besides him and that the youth said to him, "Surely, the Prophet has bound a covenant which none but a hypocrite would break. So Umar! Avoid breaking it." When Umar told Muhammad about the incident, Muhammad said that the youth was not of Adam's progeny but was Gabriel and was stressing the point about Ali. Do you Sunni's agree with this? If Umar was warned, why did he still break this covenant? Doesn't that kinda prove he is a Hypocrite? Just curious Also there is another hadith: On the completion of Muhammad's sermon, Umar al-Khattab said, "Congratulations to you, Ali! This morning has brought you a great blessing. Today you have become the master of all believing men and women" Sunnis believe that Ali(a.s) was only made the leader of spiritual guidance, not the Islamic state. Even if we suppose for a moment that Ali(a.s) wasn't the rightful successor, Why did Umar oppress this "Master" ? Not giving alligieance is one thing, but breaking and entering into someone's house is another thing. Torturing them physically/emotionally is also pretty bad, especially if your doing that to the Household of Muhammad(S.W). Looking forward to your response.3 points

(salam) This is the standard recipe for apple crumble which I learnt in year 7. Didn't make it for yearsss until a couple of months ago during Ramadhan. Ingredients: 4 cooking apples or 5-6 regular apples Plain flour - 200g Sugar - 250g butter - 120g Cinnamon powder (optional) Gas mark - 2/3/4 Step 1: Peel and chop the apples into medium/large chunks. Step 2: Place the apple chunks into a sauce pan. Add roughly half the amount of sugar you measured. (optional: you can also add sultanas, raisins and/or honey, cinnamon power) Step 3: Gently cook the apples until soft and caramalised. Gently stir from time to time to prevent it from burning. Also make sure the apples are soft and not pureed, you don't want that. Step 4: In a mixing bowl, add the flour, the remaining sugar and the butter. Step 5: With your fingertips mix the flour, butter and sugar until it transforms into a soft breadcrumb like consistency. Step 6: When the apples are cooked, take an oven proof dish and pour the apple mixture into the dish. Step 7: Now, gently pour the crumble over the top of the apples evenly. Do not press down with a spoon or anything. Step 8: Carefully place the apple crumble into the oven and let the crumble bake until golden brown. (usually 30 mins but 'golden brown' is better, please do check it regularly) *ping* It's done ^_^ you should be able to smell the aroma. Step 9: Remove the dish from the over and place on a cooling rack to, well, cool down (lol) Step 10: Plate up and enjoy it with cream, custard or on it's own! Instead of apples, you could try other filling alternatives like apricots, peaches or rhubarb (although I have no idea what rhubarb tastes like!) Wonderer, Hawra, anyone who tries this recipe, do let me know how it turns out inshallah! Wasalam :D2 points

I remember the time when we ran through streets and dared each other endlessly You ran, and I would follow as we skipped like those little girls with plaited hair. I remember the time when you scared me in the dark so much so that, I began to cry like a child and hit you a thousand times (sorry if I bruised you) Inseparable were we like sisters, but not at all Your eyes, honeyed like mine and a smile That smile. I'm as numb as when you used to lean on my arm and refuse to get off Though it feels different this time. And doesn't go away Where did it all go wrong? Why didn't you answer my calls? I was going to take you out for the night A coffee perhaps? It could have been. My spontaneous planning, like always. Why did you have to leave? How dare you go and leave me like this Bruised and blue like your face when you died Do I dare call you selfish? Dear Layla As much as nostalgia rubs salt in my wounds I will always love and miss you and will remember you for what you were and not what could have been. Dear Layla. *To all those who read this, a friend of mine has committed suicide. Whatever journey she is experiencing, I ask you to read the fatiha for her*2 points -

I genuinely feel saddened by the state of people on this website. Shiachat is meant to be the face of Shias online, If a non-Muslim looked at this, what kind of image are you people portraying? That we are argumentative fools? Would our Imam a.s be proud of us? The Imams a.s even said - Do not be an embarrassment to us, and I'm sorry to say, that's exactly what this is. Stop stirring. Do not accuse my little bro of causing fitna. He is one of the nicest people on this forum. ^ Aladdin, I wish you would learn a thing or two from Kamran. You've thrown baseless insults at him left, right and centre, and yet the only response he gives is one with akhlaq and manners. If you actually knew him, you'd know that the majority of his posts on this website are said with akhlaq, or are promoting tolerance and akhlaq. If only there were more people out there who adopted this attitude.2 points -

Let's stop arguing now.. End this stupid, useless, fitna mongering, monkey raving rave. Aladdin, if you insist on calling me a wahabi for no apparent reason - then do so, I just wanted to know why :donno: I've decided I don't give a crp any more, so you can keep on calling me wahabi if it floats your boat. I have actually concluded, that this name calling all results from someone asking for 'akhlaq' and then he him self getting battered like a piece of COD. Leave your ego's at home, i'm sure it's easy to get excited behind a computer screen, but you know get a life? Do you know me? Do I accuse any one of anything? Aladdin you may notice, I have not once said anything against you or accusing you of being a 'wahabi' and I've answered all your questions, yet you still avoid my simplest of enquieries. But that's fine, since I don't care any more. It's just sad to see a fellow brother in faith accuse me of something retarded because I asked him not to call someone a shaytan. Makes perfect sense. In any case I am told to love you as a fellow shi'a, therefore I love you aladdin :wub:2 points -

You can't make this up, al-Qaeda flag flying from the main courthouse building in the rebel heartland of Benghazi, Libya. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2055630/Flying-proudly-birthplace-Libyas-revolution-flag-Al-Qaeda.html?ito=feeds-newsxml I thought the US was "at war" with al-Qaeda?! Then why did the US and NATO just hand Libya over to al-Qaeda?! I give it between 2-10 years before the US and NATO openly invade Libya again to remove the same al-Qaeda they now put in power. And for all the secularists that cheered on the NATO backed revolt against Gaddafi, you should be happy that Shariah law is now the law of Libya and that polygamy (banned by Gaddafi) has been re-instituted! Obviously Islamic law allows polygamy, but I'm certain in a few years we will hear these same sob stories that we hear about Afghanistan today to try to continue justifying that imperialist occupation.2 points -

Unfair That A Woman Must Observe Iddah After Muta'
AmirioTheMuzzy and one other reacted to Haydar Husayn for a topic
Even the Imams (as) couldn't change the laws of Allah, so it is certainly not for us to do. There is no hadith that I am aware of that says the only reason that iddah is to be observed is in order to determine paternity. That is simply one obvious reason. Since we don't know what the hidden reasons may be, we shouldn't mess with what Allah has revealed. It could simply be bad for society to have women being able to do several mutas in quick succession. The arrogance of some people, that seem to think they can determine for themselves the reasons for which Allah (swt) made certain laws, and then to themselves abrogate those laws, is truly incredible. This life is about submission to Allah ÓÈÍÇäå æÊÚÇáì, not just doing whatever makes sense to you because you think you have it all figured out. People in the past, who weren't infected by this modern hubris, just followed the laws. They didn't constantly ask for everything to be explained to them before they obeyed. That is hardly what you can call submission.2 points -

1. So logically speaking Jibrael (as) could come to Maryam (as) but not to Fatima (as) although according to a well authenticated Hadith of prophet (pbuh), there are four highest category women in the humanity, one is Sara wife of pharaoh, one is Maryam mother of Jesus, one is Khadija, wife of last prophet, and Fatima (as), daughter of last prophet, and that Fatima is the highest among the four. May Allah's blessing on all of them. So how logical is it that Jibrael could come to Maryam and could not come to Fatima (as)? 2. Also Jibrael came to warn and threaten many evil doers throughout the life of humanity including coming to destroy many devious civilizations and to warn many evil doers including hanging the mountain of Taif on top of Arabs when they had seemingly humiliated and hurt the last prophet (pbuh). So why is it that Jibrael would not come and sit next to Umer and remind him the importance of the wilayat of Ali (as) while the most important event of Islam was happening and that it was later Umer who would come out and try to do the most damage to Islam after prophet's demise? Dude you would have understood had you been following the religion Allah has revealed in al Quran, his last and final message.1 point -

What a horrible disease you have my friend...I asked you all to read the Quran and then decide if Prophets are infallible...but instead of doing that, you just ask me some questions...sub7aan Allaah, may Allaah Sub7aanahu wa Ta'aala protect us from this form of argumentation...It's hard for me to accept that Prophets are Infallible because IM A MUSLIM AND I READ THE QURAN...I DONT TRY TO RATIONALIZE THE WORDS OF ALLAAH WITH THE CREED OF MY RELIGOUS SECT...and Im glad that you say that Angels bowed down to a PROPHET...because some shi'ah will say that Adam 'alaihi Salaam was not a prophet..so you agree that he is a prophet right? and did Adam SIN??? YES HE DID!!! CLEARLY IN MANY SURAHS "Wa 3asaa Adama Rubahu fa ghawaa" AND ADAM DISOBEYED HIS LORD AND ERRED!!!! AND ALLAAH CALLED HIM A KHALIFAH IN SURAHTUL BAQARAH!! if only you would open your eyes and see that absolute infallibility is not a prerequisite of Leadership!!! leave the emotional argument of "but how can someone who make mistakes lead a people"...its absolutely unislamic and is similar to the Christian Idea of Saints...Yunus 'alaihi Salaam made a mistake and lead a people of more than 100 THOUSAND!! Musa 'alaihi Salaam Forgot his covenant with al Khidhr 3 TIMES and lead Bani Israaeel!! these are things even a child can deduce! I just realized that you said (lol) that when we were born we were infallible free from mistakes and error and sins!! what a horrible analogy...when we were babies OUR SINS DID NOT COUNT BECAUSE WE HAVENT REACHED THE AGE OF ACCOUNTABILITY...babies can make mistakes like licking the the electric socket and it will not count because THEY ARE BABIES...these are the types of arguments that baffle me...I dont understand how a person can even consider babies as infallible! wow.1 point
