Importance Of Akhlaq
AlAbd AlThaleel and 5 others reacted to Kamranistan for a topic
(salam) The Holy Prophet (pbuh) and his Ahlulbayt (as), the pinnacle of creation, were sent down to complete the infallible religion of Islam. To do this they themselves must be infallible so that no flaws arise, simple logic.. So what does that have to do with Akhlaq? To first attempt to even improve our Akhlaq we must have something to compare it against so that we know what level we’re at and what needs to be done for this improvement to happen, in practical terms. (actually everything we do) What better comparison than our beloved ma’soom? Because they do not sin, they are perfect in every way. They are our set examples, like our fathers we must obey them but also make it so that we try to be like them in every aspect. We know that they are perfect and therefore the level of Akhlaq shown by them is second to none. So by accepting their perfection in all aspects is the first step to improving our selves. Allah (SWT) speaks about the importance of good conduct in the holy Qu’ran: ‘And say to My servants (that) they speak that which is best.’ (17:53) ‘Worship Allah, and do not associate partners with him. And be good to your parents, and the relatives, and to the orphans, and to the poor people, and the neighbor that is close to you and the neighbor that is not close to you, and your companion on the journey.’ (4:36) These verses remind us that we must show good conduct and morals especially to others e.g. Parents, neighbors, orphans, relatives, friends and even enemies. There are also numerous Hadith about Akhlaq, I will post a few that highlight that this is no small matter but rather Akhlaq is VITAL to our religion, as I will explain. The Holy Prophet (pbuh) has said: ‘I have been sent by Allah to teach people good manners.’ Imam Ali (as) said, ‘O Believer! This knowledge and good manners are the value of your soul so strive to learn them, for however much your knowledge and good manners increase, so will your value and worth accordingly.’ Sulayman-ibn-Mahran said that he visited Imam Sadiq (as) while some of the followers (Shi’a) were attending him (as) and he heard that the Imam (as), addressing them, said,‘(Behave) to be as ornaments for us and not to be against us as shame. Tell people of goodness, and protect your tongues and hold it from excessive talk and offensive speech.’ Just by using a few hadith to back up what is in the Qu’ran and we find akhlaq is a ‘must’ and not to be taken lightly. As well as looking at the example set by our beloved (as). Lets go back and take a look at the time the Prophet (pbuh) had not yet announced prophethood. You’ll find that their akhlaq was perfect, they became known as the honest & trustworthy and this was shown through their actions. If the Prophet (pbuh) had bad Akhlaq, nausubilah, then people would have doubted the Prophet (pbuh) at a later date. This example is perfect as it shows akhlaq, in fact, is everything.. If a ‘religous’ man/female has no akhlaq then people would be turned off, not just by you but Islam as well. So please for the sake of your lord and his chosen faithful servants keep good Akhlaq in everything you do and everyone you meet..INCLUDING SHIACHAT (wasalam)6 points -

الظلم يحيى بالسكوت Injustice/oppression awakens with silence6 points -
(salam) Whilst I've been in the company of fellow muslims, I observed that many Muslims have made a habit of swearing by god and making each other swear by god to prove they're truthful. There is actually a prohibition on Oath taking. The sad thing is, Muslims use the Glorious name of Allah (swt) for the stupidest, most insignificant things. Here is a model conversation about how petty a conversation can be but the Glorious name of Allah (swt) is used. Person 1 "man i beat a guy 6-1 on Fifa yesterday! Person 2 " :o say wallah! Person 1 "wallah man i owned him! I'm not even exaggerating when i say thats how people use Allah (swt)'s name. Here is a quran ayah regarding Oath Taking. "Do not make Allah an obstacle, through your oaths, to being pious and godwary, and to bringing about concord between people" Here is a hadith about this ayah: Imam Jaffar Sadiq (as) said "Do not take oath by Allah whether you are TRUTHFUL or LYING, for verily He says "Do not make Allah an obstacle, through your oaths" Imam Al Sadiq (as) has commanded that we don't take oaths by God. Danger of Making Oaths continuously If you take oaths continuously, it will become a habit, and habits are instant reactions. If you accustom yourself to say "wallah" or "Allah ne kusme" after every sentence, sooner or later you're going to be joking around and next thing you know you've just said something stupid like "Wallah I'll hit you" or "Wallah I'll beat you at FIFA" or "Wallah I was on TV". even though you may be joking around, the hardcore fact is you've just taken a false oath, or are in the danger of taking a false oath. It is narrated in thawab al a'mal that Allah (swt) said "I will not grant My mercy to he who takes false oaths" that is probably the BIGGEST punishment you can possibly think of!! We're all sinful and we're in need of Allah (swt)'s mercy, to have it withdrawn in throwing ourselves into hell fire! The Prophet (saws) said "beware of taking false oaths for verily they leave the houses empty of their tenants" Imam Al-Sadiq (as) said "Whoever takes an oath knowing that he is lying, has surely waged WAR with Allah (swt)" Imam al-Sadiq (as) said "Lying under a false oath brings about poverty for the heir" Do these hadiths not outline the Danger of making false oaths? if it becomes a habit, you'll surely make a false oath sooner or later. Solution if it has become a habit if it has become a habit, then the only solution i can think of is carefully think before you speak, and with time it'll become habit not to say it. InshaAllah we are all protected from Swearing by Allah (swt) (wasalam)4 points

knowledge of God as basic knowledge
Gepetto_Zapata and 2 others reacted to satyaban for a topic
I also believe that there is a priori knowledge of God and I also believe the same for moral behavior and it is called having a conscience. Schopenhauer put this way in his essay On the Foundation of Morality: How is it possible that suffering that is neither my own nor of my concern should immediately affect me as though it were my own, and with such force that it moves me to action?... This is really mysterious, something for which Reason can provide no explanation, and for which no basis can be found in practical experience. It is nevertheless of common occurrence, and everyone has had the experience. It is not unknown even to the most hard-hearted and self-interested. Examples appear every day before our eyes of instant responses of the kind, without reflection, one person helping another, coming to his aid, even setting his own life in clear danger for someone whom he has seen for the first time. having nothing more in mind than that the other is in need and in peril of his own life.... Schopenhauer's answer to his own question is a metaphysical realization, "tat tvam asi, thou art that." He then went on to say : "This presupposes that I have to some extent identified myself with other and therewith removed fot the moment the barrier between the "I" and the "Not-I" Only then can the other's situation, his want, his need, become mine. The circumstance which Zareen believes supports her notion that morality is not intrinsic is not a support at all. However it is a fine illustration of how our morales for some can be overruled by greed and avarice. Zareen said: "However, it is not very clear that morality is something that is intrinsic. For eg, lets look at the Slavery in the United States. Back in the 17th century black people had the status of farm animal (like cows, donkeys and horses). Black slaves were denied basic human rights and forced to work like animals. And you know that the white people who owned them were deeply religious folks and moral citizen." I should point outh that there was no United States in the 17th century nor half of the 18th century but there was England and The Dutch who were the early participants in the slave trade she is addressing. The white and black people, I very small minority, who owned these slaves used their religion to support the institution of slavery. These slave owners, a small minority of the colonists, being "deeply religious and moral citizens"(I am keenly interested in her source of this) twisted both to hold slaves but they were men of their times not ours.3 points -

(salam) Salawat is a truly beautiful thing. The virtue of salawat is truly great. We should aim to say salwat at any time we can because remembrance of the Ahlul Bayt (as) is remembrance of Allah (swt) What is Salawat? The Prophet Muhammad (saws) when he was asked how to send blessings on him (salawat), he replied "Say : O Allah, Bless Muhammad and the family of Muhammad, just as you blessed Abraham and the family of Abraham, verily you are Praiseworthy and Glorious." (in arabic : Allah Humma Sale ala Muhammad wa ale muhammad) That is the method of invoking blessings onto the Prophet (saws) and his family as prescribed by RasoolAllah (saws) Virtue of Salawat "Indeed Allah and his angels bless the Prophet: O you who have faith! Invoke blessings on him and invoke Peace upon him in a worthy manner"-Surah Ahzab 33:56 (Quran) Allah (swt) is COMMANDING the people to recite salawat upon the RasoolAllah (saws) and as mentioned in the first hadith, the method he said to use was to bless his progeny as well. The Prophet Muhammad (saws) said :"Wherever you may be, invoke blessings on me for verily your blessing reaches me" The Prophet Muhammad (saws) said "The invocation of blessing on me is a light on the sirat" The Prophet Muhammad (saws) said "Whoever invokes blessings on me, writing it on paper, the angels continue to seek forgiveness on his behalf as long as my name remains written on the paper" SubhanAllah! Such an easy thing to say and yet so much reward for uttering one sentence! The Hadith about writing it on a paper, it is something I will definitely get around to doing, it takes maximum 1 minute to do and place it in a frame or somewhere safe, and the angels will always be asking forgiveness for you! But this is the hadith that struck me most Imam Baqir (as) or Imam Al sadiq (as) said:"The heaviest thing to be placed on the scales on the day of resurrection is the invocation of blessings on Muhammad and his household (as) If you think about it, its the HEAVIEST THING, yet it is such a simple formula! Think about if you recite it so much on a daily basis, A) you won't be sinning because instead you'll be doing salawat. B ) The salawat will outweigh the previous sins on the Day of Reckoning InshaAllah Surely dhikr of Allah (swt) is better? Also participate in dhikr of Allah (swt) but the Remembrance of Allah (swt)'s divinely sent Household is also remembrance of him. And as mentioned in above hadiths about the virtues it is the HEAVIEST thing on The day of Judgement! That means if place one on one with ANYTHING else, the salawat will outweigh it. InshaAllah this thread has helped you guys, and InshaAllah we are given the towfiq to recite salawat as a daily activity whenever possible May Allah (swt) bless you all. (wasalam)3 points

There are a lot better rap songs out there with Islamic themes, even by American born artists. Zakir Naik just let his son come on stage and make a fool of himself in a vain attempt to impress the younger crowd. Barely anyone clapped for the kid. The Christians do this kind of stuff just as badly or even worse here in the States with their children, it's very shameful and degrading to the religion as well as the art of rap. It doesn't help either that Zakir Naik is just an anti-Shia businessman. A fail attempt at Islam and fail attempt at Hip Hop (take it from a big Hip Hop fan).2 points -

Light of Ali and one other reacted to MAFHJ for a topic
For those interested in a little Lebanese culture, this is a mawled for Imam Ali held at "Mat'am al-Saaha" (one of the biggest restaurants in Beirut, for the Shi'a), This may very well be a wedding, because that is how they are orchestrated usually. There is also a Shi'a gas station next to it, called "Mhatit al-'aytam" ( a gas station that contributes to the orphans, under the Mubarrat project there). Usually whenever someone is in that area, they pump gas from there, usually very busy, and over there it is not self service, they provide the service in Lebanon. Edit: Muhammad Rammaal is a very famous Shi'i singer (as in anasheed) in Lebanon. Some of you may be familiar with his "Aliyyun Imami Aliyyun Imami" Note: The instruments used may be bothersome and problematic for some, but in Lebanese culture this is the 'urf. All Sunnis are not Wahabis. And all Wahabis are not terrorists. Terrorists could be from any sect or religion. Those who take guns, assassinate, kill and destroy indiscriminately are terrorists, without any justice and without fighting a defensive war. Those who follow the doctrines of Ibn Taymiya (la) and Mohammad Ibn Wahab Najdi are known to be Wahabis, they are even known as Wahabis and called as such by other Sunnis. For example, in Pakistan the Brelaivs and Deobandis or known as (Hanafis) in other countries like Turkey, Afghanistan call same Sunnis as Wahabis (some of the Ahle Hadith) as we Shias do. In this forum, you liar, we only refer to terrorist armed groups in (Syria, Libya, Iran and Iraq) as Wahabi or Salafi terrorist groups (And they call themselves as Salafis or Wahabis as well and they clearly commit terrorist acts). Not because they are Sunnis or because they are Salafis or Wahabis they are terrorists, but because they are both we call them as Wahabi terrorists. If you find a Shia group who is involved in terrorist acts and claims fighting for Shia cause, you can call such a group as a Shia terrorist group. Why we never called any group in Saudi as Wahabi terrorist groups. Because, they are Wahabis but there are not terrorist groups active, however they are funding all other foreign Wahabi terrorist groups. Hamas in Palestine is mainly from Salafist people, we never called them Salafi terrorists.. Because anything they are doing is considered wary activities against their enemies, Israelis. And now regarding your average religious masses: How many millions of Sunni Muslims? How many country? Where are they? Around 300 million Sunni Muslims in Central Asia, Russia and East China.. Who even forgot how to pray and hardly remember anything from Islam. Around 500 million Sunni Muslims in Nigeria, Kenya, Egypt, Algeria, Sudan and other African countries? More or Less I am not sure about the exact numbers.. How many parties, Islamic states or groups or A TRY FOR A MUSLIM organization ever made in these countries? The best they could come up with was some cheap words and dramas during Hassan Al Banna and Sayed Qutb and the Muslim Brotherhood of Egypt! Why they never were successful to amass Sunnis behind them? Sudan was the only successful Sunni country in recent times to implement Sharia, and look at the country what were its achievements? Even with support of Islamic Republic of Iran and a few other countries it never been a main player to do anything for Islamic or Sunni world. Around 300+ million Sunnis in India and Pakistan... Sorry to say this, but they are nowhere near to any sacrifice for Sunnism or any excitement amongst masses of Sunnis who will or could do to make any different in Sunni world. The best they came up with was the school of Deoband in India and Pakistan (turned to become British spy bases) and the terrorist groups such as Sepahi Sahaba, Lashkare Jahngvi, TTP who only focus on killing people of other sects and religion and weakening their own government and country. Sunnis of other sects being their victims, Shias being killed and Christians and Hindos are targeted, government officials and the groups are greatly infiltrated by foreign hands to cause partition of the country. What was their achievement or you think will be there achievement for Sunni world through these Sunni Pak/India groups? Around 250 million Sunnis in Indonesia or Malaysia or ........? The way they always been, is like they never been connected to any social, religious or any issue with the rest of Sunni world. Lastly, ME and Turkey.. millions of useless and backward Sunnis in Yemen? in UAE and Gulf states from behind foreign night clubs and comfort bedrooms will ever done or will do for Islam or Sunnis? Are you kidding me!?! Thanks God, Turkey is a little bit improving recently.. Because, it left its sectarian greed behind, its not falling for ignorance of Sunni Arabs or listening to its western masters on how to oppress its own Shia citizens and how to show rivalry against its neighbor Iran which is mainly the focus of all other Sunni countries, instead of promoting or working for their own ummah or countries. Believe it or not, there never been any kind of notion to keep Sunnis as Ummah.. There was either language or race that connected some of them, or an ethnic based empire such as Arabs, Turks (like Ottoman empire) who ruled with iron fist and the only thing Sunnis shared was a common ruler...and that in some Sunni countries, mainly ME... This khelafat from east to the west never existed. And AT PRESENT TIMES WHERE 90% of Sunnis are not connected with each others in an way or mean will never happen.2 points -
