Legendary and 2 others reacted to Ali Huzaifa for a topic
yesterday i was watching movie on you tube "Al mukhtaar" and in that movie hazrat mukhtaar brings a shia momeen who was his friend to meet his sister for marriage purpose, but that girls violantly denies that momeen proposal just because she was arab and the momeen was an irani, ultimately she marries a fasiik umr ibn aas instead of that momeen.conclusion is those who gives importance to race and colour of skin ends up marrying some munafiq,so better dont deny proposal on the base of skin and race. w.salaam.3 points -

Where Was Imam Ali (as) When....

(salam) Well I follow the Jaffari school of thought. And I can honestly say I haven't come across any secret hadiths that were given to me upon being born, nor becoming baligh, nor deciding to follow Islam. Infact I think you're just saying what you're hearing from others. We don't follow "supposed Imams (as)" .. your leader Abu Hanifa was taught by our 6th Imam, Imam Jafar Sadiq (as). Also Malik Ibn Anas another one of your leaders was taught by our 6th Imam, Imam Jafir Sadiq (as). The 12 Imams (as) were the most knowledgeable of their time, most pious of their time, most God-Fearing of their time. There is none better than them to be the leader. Go and follow your leader Umar with hes innovations such as "assalatul khayral minal nawm" Carpets weren't even introduced into the Mosque of the Prophet (pbuh) until 300 years after his death and you claim that we are innovating for praying on a turbah/mohr Imam Ali (as) has the most merits written down about him after rasoolAllah (pbuh) Imam Ali (as) was the son in law and the cousin of rasoolAllah (pbuh), who was raised by rasoolAllah (pbuh), who sacrificed his life for rasoolAllah (pbuh), who was like a brother to rasoolAllah (pbuh) Imam Hassan (a.s) and Imam Hussein (a.s) were loved by rasoolAllah pbuh Abu Bakr angered Lady Fatima (a.s) Umar ran away from battle Uthman was hated by the ummah they revolted against him The characteristics of the first 3 caliphs show they aren't fit to be leaders of anything, let alone leading the Ummah. If you believe you are following the sunnah then good luck to you, cos you're gonna need it (wasalam)2 points -

(salam) Allah (swt) made everything in pairs. “And We created everything in pairs that perhaps you might take heed.” [sûrah al-Dhâriyât: 49] If men and women didn't have feelings towards each other then no one would have kids .. and if no one had kids then there would be no humans. Unless you then ask the question of Why wouldn't Allah (swt) just create more humans, then we can ask Why didn't Allah (swt) create humans with 3 hands instead of 2, then we can ask Why didn't Allah (swt) make the earth bigger etc.. and the list goes on. Ultimately women and men may love each other, but they should love each other for the sake of Allah ÓÈÍÇäå æÊÚÇáì. They may love their kids but they should love them for the sake of Allah ÓÈÍÇäå æÊÚÇáì. They may love working, but they should love to do that work for the sake of Allah (swt) etc.. (salam) Watch this video from 3:30 .. The guy says that Imam Ali (as) was about to kill an unbeliever in battle, just before he killed him the unbeliever spat in Imam Ali's (as) face. Imam Ali (as) didn't kill him because it would have been out of his own anger and not for the sake of Allah ÓÈÍÇäå æÊÚÇáì. This is most likely the same reason why he didn't kill those who slammed the door on Bibi Fatimah (as) .. he wouldn't have been doing it for the sake of Allah (swt) .. so he let Allah (swt) deal with them. Devils Spamming Us Thoughts
satyaban reacted to MysticKnight for a topic
Honestly I thought about this idea of devil or devils spamming us thoughts and it seems really illogical and silly. When I write something, my thoughts are focused on what I'm writing, there is no spamming of thoughts. When I'm reading, it's concentrated on what I'm reading, I don't get spammed bad thoughts. If the devils can really spam us bad thoughts whenever they want, I would imagine we would be continously be spammed evil thoughts. Instead our thoughts are well structured, if we think of a bad thought, it only comes on occasion, when the situation calls for it. We aren't spammed ideas, our brain is thinking it a well structured way, that doesn't at all show signs of being spammed evil thoughts. Do the devils wait for the perfect moment to spam us thoughts so it appears it doesn't come randomly but is our own thoughts? Why would they do that. If you think about, it's obvious there is no devils spamming us thoughts. It's an illogical to believe that when you analyze how your mind always functions. It's an illogical belief. Our bad thoughts come from own subconscious and for many they don't really get much bad thoughts. If there was devils spamming us thoughts I would imagine would be constantly thinking evil thoughts and struggling against them. But this is not the case.1 point -
Let's just forget Umar is even a Muslim for one minute, Look at him as a Worldy ruler. He was really effective, Usman messed up his system though by appointing his own family members and removing people from high ranking posts etc. If He would've died during Umar's reign than things would've gone so much smoother for Imam Ali(a.s) imo. There is something in this world called Free Choice, many people say free will but free will means whatever you will to happen happens, this isn't the case. I could will my bed to turn into a car .. doesn't mean its gonna happen. When we say Allah (swt) willed for something to happen we aren't saying that Allah (swt) made that thing happen, we are saying that the thing happened and Allah (swt) accepted it to happen. Abu Bakr and co. made the choice to usurp the rights of Imam Ali (as) and Allah (swt) allowed their choice to happen, you cannot say this means Allah (swt) made Abu Bakr and co. usurp the rights, they chose to themselves, Allah (swt) just allowed it to happen.1 point -

(bismillah) (wasalam) All this extra stuff is yet another sign that Allah SWT is Loving and Merciful. He created us as human beings and Who kept us alive? He did. He made food as a necessary requirement to keep us alive, but it was His love for us that He created food to taste good so that people will want to eat it and stay alive. If food didn't taste good, nobody would eat it. He created marriage so that husbands and wives could live together and He blessed some of them with children. However He created laws to keep us safe and limit our activities to moderation. He said don't look at anyone else and guard your private parts from all except your spouse. For those who cannot provide everything necessary for a permanent marriage, Allah created mutah. What a loving God we have, Who created everything necessary for us. He loves us for sure. The more we communicate with Him in prayer and du'aa, the more He blesses us, inshaAllah. Holy Qur'an 2:165 “.....and those who believe are stronger in love for Allah.”1 point -

The question that should be added here is, are peoples "bad" thoughts really even bad to begin with? Something like skipping prayer time i think is the least bad of thoughts that people may or may not have. Truly bad thoughts, we hold with reason as you said. Its necissary though to recognize the bad thoughts, otherwise we wouldnt realize how to act properly. This is the natural way. If i see fire, im going to think about how hot it is and i may even go further to think about touching it or throwing it on someone. However, all of these thoughts are just recognition of what it is, and its what allows us to consider how we live. No demons are necessary for thought of good and bad options in situations, and it has nothing to do with with youre a believer or not. Everyone has them because thats how the brain works. Not only that but, quite often the "bad" thoughts really arent even that bad to begin with. For example, when a guy sees a beautiful women and he thinks to himself, wow, shes really attractive, i wouldnt mind having that. Theres nothing satanic about this. Its just a demonstration that people are interested in sex, which again is the natural order of things. If you think about wanting to eat all of someone elses food, the thought comes from our interest in eating for our survival, theres nothing unnatural about certain degrees of greed. Theres nothing evil about having bits of greed or jealousy, in reality we need these things in moderation to survive. If a womens husband goes to another women. And the women becomes angry and jealous...theres nothing evil about it, no demons necessary. Its reasonable that the women have these feelings for her own survival. Nothing satanic about wanting what another person has (when they have more) nor is there anything satanic about being angry when you have been abandoned (presumably due to something imperfect about yourself).1 point

Although, for the most part i am siding with seeker in the discussion, for this particular post, i think we should not pass the buck. A situation like the one in Pakistan is the result of many factors (which include the affects of US actions). And we should not simply point at America for all of another countries problems. People need to take responsibility for their own actions. I think, the people of Pakistan need to organize themselves and create a country wide ideology that will dampen the violence. The issue is that the people themselves are divided, and as an outsider in all honesty i dont understand why theyre divided.1 point

What Happened To Ahmadinejad?
Hameedeh reacted to shiasoldier786 for a topic
IMF report on Iran http://www.atimes.com/atimes/Middle_East/MF18Ak01.html On Ahmadinejad's subsidy reform plan - which ended a range of lavishly generous subsidies on a wide range of items in December 2010, provoking bitter rows between the president and Iran's parliament - the report is positively effusive. "The mission commended the authorities for the early success in the implementation of their ambitious subsidy reform program," it writes. Price rises in areas like energy, public transport, wheat, and bread have resulted from the removal of US$60 billion of subsidies, according to the report. But as a result, it adds: "The redistribution of the revenues arising from the price increases to households as cash transfers have been effective in reducing inequalities, improving living standards, and supporting domestic demand in the economy." Oh cummon dude. All hes asking is, why people aren't allowed to do further research into it, and come up with their own conclusions on what the actual casualty figures were.1 point -

Hadith Of 12 Caliphs Doesn't Belong To Shia
al-`Ajal Ya Imaam reacted to Haydar Husayn for a topic
I think what you don't understand is Shias don't have to prove anything using Sunni sources. The existence of the 12th Imam does not depend on your sources verifying it, and neither does any aspect of our religion. You keep mistakenly claiming that we are using 'vague hadiths' to prove our point, but in fact we do not need Sunni hadiths to prove anything. We have our own hadiths that are far more explicit than the Sunni ones. The only time Shias should be using Sunni hadiths is in an effort to wake you people up, since your sources still have enough hadiths in them to make an honest person ask himself serious questions about whether or not Sunnis are on the right path. The hadith of the 12 Caliphs is just one of those hadiths that should make you think a little.1 point -

Here it is. Thank you. A wonderful little piece. Perhaps a little lenient. But you seemed to know your subject. You mentioned seeing similar things on the bus. I liked that you added a creative critique of the kinds of buildings they put on them (you should next pen an attack on modern cities generally). The line about their diverting the natural course of a body of water was very good also - though I have never seen it occur. My favourite line is - Perfectly manicured lawns, and terracotta tiles, Where moss grew on rocks, and daffodils bloomed for miles. Last year I only mowed the presbytery yard once. I like long grass. Australian men seem to be addicted to mowing their lawns. In spring and summer here you can hardly go a day without hearing someone hard at it. Probably why they are so violent in the cities. But I do like terra cotta; I shall just imagine harder still that the rest of the house looks like a true "architectured obscenity" and a concrete (and not terra cotta) monstrosity. You softened on them at the end as well. Most of them never even come to their properties. With the mountain I do not even know what monetary profit accrues from their ownership. Others just have them to breed and keep horses (hundreds and hundreds of horses...) to sell most and to race some (I would happily trespass but for the horses). They hardly come from their city homes in a decade and would hardly stay even a night at all leave aside a week. So - should have gone at them harder. But a wonderful piece all the same.1 point -

Khula'
a believer reacted to alimohamad40 for a topic
salaam alaikum The amount that he asks has to be reasonable to compensate for the damage done to him due to the un-reasonable breach of the contract (khul3) because khul3 is when the reasons for requesting divorce are not good reasons from the wife The local hakim must determine this amount and must limit the man from being un-reasonable usually the amount is the same as the mahr and they call it Bathl which means giving up the mahr but its not random and its not in his hand to be unreasonable and that's why the hakim is needed in disputes to put a limit to these situations. as far as i know the only situation where the husband can stop paying nafaqah is in the situation of noshooz if am not mistaken. If he regards this as noshooz but this is lasting too long and makes no sense because in normal situations the hakim must interfere and solve the problem its obvious that there is a dispute but without knowing the details of the dispute the hakim will not know who is doing the noshooz whether its the husband or not if the husband unlawfully stops nafaqah then the wife can demand the hakim to make him choose between two things, pay or divorce , if he doesn't pay he will automatically have the right to divorce him without his consent if a husband stops nafaqah he is regarded Nashiz and the hakim has the right to divorce him if he didnt comply but remember that "paying" doesn't always mean paying money it just means he sustaining, for example if he provides the food and shelter that's the same as if he pays enough for accommodation and food, so if its not in money it also suffices so long as the food and shelter needs are met. (basic needs) moakhar of the dowry has nothing to do with divorce moakhar just means " the later" which is the part of the dowry that they agree to pay later it is always a debt on his neck even before the divorce but the reasons people link it to divorce is because that's a point where they would depart so they have to close off the balance that they owe eachtoher and hence he has to pay the moakhar the money that he wants is maybe the moqadam (the upfront) part of the dowry that he already paid and maybe he wants a written document to say that the wife gives up the moakhar so that after divorce he will not owe anything to her but I dont think he can request more because thats teh definition of Bathl meaning she can only give up what she has taken and what she demands but to pay from her pocket ???? maybe if he is proving that he was damaged in some way and that she has no good reason for leaving him he would request compensation for that damage but he cant just make up a figure from his head . I hope it works with negotiation and i hope he doesnt become unreasonable I was in a situation like this and the wife caused me a big damage but i didnt demand anything i just demanded from her to release the debts of the moakhar of my head and didnt keep her hanging .... we have to use common sense , if god forbid you live the girl hanging and then due to that she falls into corruption then you might have some of the sin on your neck so following gods advice Either good companionship or freedom with kindness (meaning divorce) and in other versus god says " do not prevent them from marrying again" and the example of the prophet with his wives when he gave them the choice to divorce or stay with him salaam1 point -

If Umar and Abu Bakr considered Ali (as) so great then why did they go behind his back and to install themselves king? They knew he was opposed to their ambitions and yet they didnt even think to consult him. Why did Abu Bakr have Umar nominated as the next king with he was so respectful of Ali (as)? Why did Umar not give the khalifate to Ali (as) if he considered himself the Ghulam of Ali (as)? The most meritorious man should rule. The Khilafat means successorship. Successorship to who? Muhammad (pbuh). The term Khalifa is short for Khalifa tur Rasul Allah which in english means "successor of the Allah's messenger". Imamate means Leadership. Muhammad (pbuh) was the leader of Muslims. His heirs were his Ahl-e-Bait. He appointed Ali (as) as successor. Muhammad's authority was both spiritual and temporal. It stands to reason that his successor, anyone with the title "successor of the Allah's messenger" would have to have both temporal and spiritual leadership. OP you are theorizing a seperation of church and state which does not exist in Islam and whose justification is not found in the Quran or Hadith. The Quran tells us to obey the Ulul al Amr and the Imans said they were the rightful Ulul al Amr. You claim love of the Ahl-e-Bayt but does that claim of love translate into action or is your claim but a mere claim. You claim love for the Ahl-e-Bayt but then take your religion from Umar and Abu Hanifa. To them belongs your loyalty in truth. We Shias are loyalist of the Ahl-e-Bayt. We take our religion and philosophy from them. Our worldview depends on their opinions. We do not say "the Ahl-e-Bayt are ours". We say "we are theirs"1 point
