[MERGED] Taqleed To A Mujtahed?
Barabika and 2 others reacted to MysticKnight for a topic
Their is an obvious problem if people are not allowed to do imitate others regarding laws of Islam. The obvious reason is most people have not put the time to researching and it's impractical to force all of society to study Fiqh. Also what would they follow while studying Fiqh? On the other hand, to force a person to imitate everything one scholar does or act based on precaution of what all scholars say, is also without logical basis. The reason is the person can do SOME research, and come to a conclusion on some Fiqh, without the depth of knowledge of Fiqh of Mujtahid. The balance should be that you are allowed to imitate scholars for what you don't know and are also allowed to come to conclusions yourself based on what you do know. There could a be verse of Quran that you realize says something and ruling goes against it. Why shouldn't you be allowed to follow what you believe a verse states? Why is ahadith can be checked via Quran and logic, but not fatwas of scholars? I think a balanced approach that just has taqleed for practicality but not as dogmatic obligation, is a better approach then people arguing against taqleed all together and people arguing for it.3 points -
Will Of Ayatullah Mar'ashi Najafi
habib e najjaar and one other reacted to La fata illa Ali for a topic
(bismillah) w/b w/r (salam) I came across this and thought I would share it with u folks: http://www.islamicin...shi-najafi.html Grand Ayatollah Sayyid Abul Ma'ali Shahab ad-Din Muhammad Hussain Mar'ashi Najafi (July 1, 1897 - August 31, 1990) (Arabic: اية الله العظمى السيد شهابالدين الحسينى المرعش) was an Iraqi born Marja-i Taqleed. A prominent jurisprudent and Islamic scholar, he was also the founder of the Grand Library of Mar'ashi Najafi in Qom, Iran. He is widely credited within the Shia world for having selflessly salvaged many thousands of rare, near destroyed or lost Islamic books an manuscripts. Today, this library contains the largest collection of Shia manuscripts in the world.[1] Last Will of Ayatollah Mar'ashi Najafi I advise my son: Always remain ready to serve the religion of Islam and strive in the defense of Truth. Today the religion of Islam is crying, Hal Min Nasirin Yansuruni, Hal Min Dhabbin Yadhubbu Anni? – "Is there a helper who will come to my aid? Is there a rescuer who will come to my rescue?" O my son, in this age there are very few who answer this plea from Islam, and may Allah reward the few that there are. Always ponder deeply over the verses of the Holy Qur'an and follow the advice and instructions contained therein. Visit the graves frequently and think, "where were these people yesterday, what were they, how were they, and where have they come today? Do not sit and indulge in vain and useless gatherings. There are few gatherings today where gossip, slander, and lies are not present; rather, they do not exist. Refrain from excessive attachment to this world. Maintain good relations with your close relatives, because by this act you will gain inspiration to do good deeds and earn blessings and an increase in your means and life-span. Always refrain from backbiting of the servants of Allah, and especially remain aloof from gossip about the scholars, because that is like eating poisoned dead meat. Remain engrossed in the learning of religious knowledge. Continue to progress in it every day, and remain busy in spreading it all the time. O my son, make a habit of reciting Sura Yaseen after morning prayers every day. After Dhuhr prayers, recite Sura Naba, after Asr prayers, recite Sura Asr, after Maghrib prayers, recite Sura Waqia, and after Isha prayers, recite Sura Mulk. In this practice are amazing gains. My teachers advised me to this, and I have seen its blessing more than once. In the Qunoot of obligatory prayers, always recite the following: Allahuma Inni Asaluka Bi Haqqi Fatimata Wa Abiha Wa Ba'liha Wa Baniha Wa Sirril Mustaudihi Fiha, An Tusalli Ala Muhammadin Wa Aali Muhammad, Wa An Taf'al Bi Ma Anta Ahlu, Wa La Taf'al Bi Ma Ana Ahlu. – "O Allah, I beseech you in the name of Fatima, her father, her husband, her sons, and the secret she is buried with: shower your blessings upon Muhammad and his Progeny, and do unto me that which is worthy of Your mercy, and not that which is worthy of my actions." This supplication was taught to me by both my father as well as my teacher Shaikh Muhammad Hussain Shirazi. He has narrated this authentic narration from Sayyid Murtadha Kashmiri by Ibn Taoos from the Holy Imams (peace be upon them). O my son, in the Ruku, especially of the last Rak'at, after Dhikr, recite Salawaat in this way: Allahumma Salli Ala Muhammadin Wa Aali Muhammad Wa Taraham Ala Aajizna Wa Aghizna Bihaqqihim. Always recite the Tasbih of our wronged grandmother Fatima Zahra. That Tasbih is not only for recitation after prayers; rather, it should be recited all the time. O son, there is a memorable speech by Lady Fatima which she gave in the Mosque of the Prophet in front of the Ummah. Even the scholars and proficient linguists have failed to understand it fully. Think deeply about her words and try to understand them. Study the famous sermon of the Chief of the Believers and the Leader of the Oppressed called Shiqshiqiyyah. I stress to you to never abandon the Night Prayer. Do Istighfaar in the early mornings. Be gentle and merciful to the poor and needy, and especially take care of the Sadaat and students of Islam. Avail yourself of the blessings of visiting the Holy Ahlul Bayt (peace be upon them). Reach the places where they are buried and after reciting salutations, repent and recite supplications – in these actions there are untold benefits. O my son, regard your life's time as precious, and do not waste it on useless talks. Allah is strongly displeased with a young man who wastes his time. I have gathered the earth from the graves of the Ahlul Bayt, the Holy Imams, their children, their companions, and the pious scholars in a small bag. Bury it in my grave with me so that I am blessed. Also place in my grave the black clothes I use to wear in the grief-ridden remembrance of the suffering of the children of the Holy Prophet during the months of Muharram and Safar. After shrouding me, place on my chest the handkerchief with which I used to wipe my tears in mourning my grandfather Hussain (peace be upon him). O my son, always remain in a state of purity. By that act, the soul of a person remains content and is free from grief. After my death, perform the Hajj and Ziyarat of the grave of the Holy Prophet on my behalf. All my life I longed to do this, but due to hardship, I could not go. Similarly, visit the sacred places in Iraq on my behalf. For both these good acts, I do not have anything except a few books. I hope my children will pay from their own wealth and do this kindness to me. My Lord is a witness that I do not have an inch of land nor any wealth of any sort. O my son, if possible, use some of your wealth as Radd al-Madhaalim on my behalf, in case I have any dues outstanding. O my son, every Thursday night, ask someone to come to the side of my grave and recite about the suffering of Imam Hussain. When my bier is carried, announce to the people that if I owe anything to anyone, he should forgive me before I am buried. Every Thursday night, my sons should come to my grave and recite the Holy Qur'an and listen to the remembrance of Imam Hussain. The rosary made from the earth of Kerbala with which I used to recite my Istighfaar should be buried with me.2 points -
Bismillah O great servant You are only something ... low How much it hurts to battle against the needs of the world? Whereas others suffers because of their own ignorance, you suffer because of their suffering You cannot elevate yourself For that place is occupied by me You cannot but lower yourself For that place I selfishly have left for you By Gods grace you can take By Gods grace you are able to unjustly kill But you chose to give You chose to heal Your words are Gods mercy unto me Your silence is Gods flame that burns me Your pleasure is Gods extended pleasure Me ... I am a servant of those lower than me I look upto you O mighty servant This world is so dark We are supposed to endure it through eachothers company I see no reason ... except that the low ones are usually dishonest ones This world is full of internal and external powers colliding Lucky is he who stays out of this mess Courageous is he who enters it Blessed is he who comes out alive Be high internally and low externally That means be modest and be humble Dependable and a source of peace Honest and not a lair You are who you are The wind is blowing forward The ships are sailing And God is there ... Silence, that is our creed Endurance, that is our deed Warriors is my breed Freedom we will achieve from greed We grow as common as weed We cause others to bleed By our death people won't be relieved By enlightement we will be freed A lineage of honor, expecting Allahs pleasure, expecting to lead The song of peace, the song of the black steed Peace2 points

What To Say At The End Of A Supplication
rotten_coconut and one other reacted to La fata illa Ali for a topic
(bismillah) w/b w/r (salam) I just wanted to bring to attention a very intersting find by Brother Nader Zaveri on his blog. What to Say After Supplication Here is a SaHeeH (Authentic) hadeeth on what to say after your supplication (du`aa). Allaah (سبحانه و تعالى) promises that He will answer and carry out your needs. From Hishaam bin Saalim from Abee `Abd Allaah (عليه السلام) said: “When a man supplicates, and says (this) after what he supplicates, مَا شَاءَ اللَّهُ لَا حَوْلَ وَ لَا قُوَّةَ إِلَّا بِاللَّهِ “As Allah wills, there are no means and no power without the help of Allah,” Allaah (عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ) says: “My servant has accepted, and surrendered to my command. Carry out his needs. Source: 1. Al-Kulayni, Al-Kaafi, vol. 2, pg. 521, hadeeth # 1 Grading: 1. Al-Majlisi said this hadeeth is SaHeeH à Mir’aat Al-`Uqool, vol. 12, pg. 212 So I think this is really easy to practice and can be included in any dua u do so please make use of it. Of course dont forget to start ur dua with salawat!!! Again thanks to brother Nader for digging this up. w/b w/r (wasalam)2 points -
There. That's the problem. People think they can pick one book up (or whatever fadakbooks has to offer, for that matter) and come to their own conclusion based on what they know (however little that may amount to). They don't realize so many things would go wrong with this system, they would eventually end up believing their religion is too complicated for them. Tell me: have you never heard of (seemingly) conflicting, contradicting verses (because some of them were amended, abrogated, etc.)? Would it be okay to follow what one verse says and when you bump into the other verse one day, to begin to follow this one instead? Or worse, go around prancing with a list of 'problems' with the Qur'aan? What about general and specific ahadith? One hadith says something generally... and another later names an exception. (and you were like 'Ahaa! So-and-so Marja was deceptive in his ruling' when he too named an exception and you were only aware of the general hadith. There are SO many examples of such ahadith I can give you.) or what about fabricated and completely wrong ahadith? Who would tell you we are not to take your religion from such-and-such man in the chain, when you run into something new in a book you're reading? Oh and let's not assume we don't have completely conflicting ahadith in our books. Who would tell you that this one's said under Taqiyyah and this one's not? You don't learn that from day one. I guarantee you that. And please don't tell me you would be forgiven because of your apparent innocence in acting on whatever you did (thinking it was right). When you have a better option available (which, against the norm, really does give you everything on a silver platter) you would be questioned about making the wrong choice and acting upon your own uninformed opinion. I'm not even sure how you come up with the idea. Your expert teacher, with who-knows-how-many decades of experience, gives you a list of basic rules to stick by. Would you, disagree with him and and form your own 'expert' opinion, because you think you've read something contrary to what he says somewhere in a book? No, I'm not talking of controversial Marjas (it is VERY easy to know which ones these are) and just a few people do not make the entire system unreliable and flawed. Fine, though. Go ahead. With so many people doing whatever they want to, people claiming to be somewhere in the middle of akhbari'ism and usooli'ism when all they really are against is how Iran works and sorts of paranoid things, it wouldn't hurt to have a new aberrant group. Just come back and let us know how it worked out for you. wa (salam)2 points

You are at risk of coming across as being too adversarial - is your daughter good enough for us? - and dare I say smug or even a family that wants to hang onto an unmarried male for as long as possible. I know aunties who have been like this and the son ends up marrying a kaffir. This can't be a process that just involves the interrogation of the potential bride. The approach I suggested above requires a fair amount of subtlety to be pulled off. This has to be a mutual exercise in assessing compatibility. That's why the questions involve give and take. You have to disclose about your family in order to have them disclose about theirs. That's a bit clinical, but in a natural conversation that is what happens. You show them pics about when you went on ziarat. That should be a stimulus for them to talk about their visits. If you just get silence, then no problem, perhaps they never found the time. You show them family pics, amongst the collection is the milad to celebrate your dude's finishing the Qu'ran. If that passes by without comment, then again no problem, but the jigsaw is getting filled in. Albums are good, because they cover all aspects of family life. If your entire focus is religion then you may be presenting a slanted view of yourselves (unless of course you are like that). Bear in mind that while you may consider your family to be on the siratulmustaqeem, they may see you as being unsufferably holy and far too religious, perhaps even looney tunes. But again that is no problem all you are looking for is compatibility.2 points

My Dua Ahad Story
Hameedeh reacted to La fata illa Ali for a topic
(bismillah) (salam) w/r w/b: I promised a member on SC I would tell this story so here goes. Since about February 2011, I have tried to recite dua Ahad for 40 mornings. Each time I tried, I failed to wake up for Fajr at about the two to two and half week mark. Everytime I was dissapointed with myself. If I couldn't get to pray fajr for 40 days then forget about Dua Ahad, I had bigger problems. Nonetheless, I continued to struggle, continued to try and recite dua Ahad 40 mornings in a row...kept failing. Even though I came home from University, there were mornings that my whole family would fail to wake up for fajr...A really sad state of affairs. On Tuesday June 7th, I didnt not wake up for fajr...I had failed again. I recited the qaza of fajr at 11 am and for the first time said, "Ya Allah, without ur tawfeek, is it possible for this task ever to be accomplished? Ya Allah adrikini!" khair, I woke up for Fajr on Wed, June 8th...and the next day, and the day after that, and so on and so forth till I hit July 3rd. I realized that Alhamdulilah, I had done a good job for waking up for fajr, Also my family had also not missed a single fajr since Wed, June 8th, and I had also recited dua Ahad on every morning since Wed, June 8th. I knew, that this would not have been accomplished without Allah (aj) granting me the tawfeek to do so. Curiosity overcame me and having the knowledge that I hadnt missed dua Ahad since June 8th, I wanted to see the date of the '40th day' of my endeavour would be. By Allah (aj), to whom all the Glory, praise, and thanks belongs, I realized that my '40th day' would be none other than the morning of 15 SHA'BAAN ITSELF!!!!!!! (Sun, July 17th) I promise all of u that I didnt plan for it to be like this. I only figured out on July 3rd that this would be the result and I was over joyed. I am happy to state and share this good news with all of you that I didnt miss fajr prayer or dua Ahad from June 8th to July 17th and still counting. Inshallah, till the day I depart this world, I hope Allah (aj) will grant me the tawfeek never to miss fajr or dua Ahad ever again. Ilahiameen. Shukran for taking the time to read this. Some of you will be feeling a sense of divine intervention and planning took place. Some of you will feel that it was luck. And still yet, some of you will feel that it was pure hard work. What you think it is, I leave you with two verses of the quran: 076.029 YUSUFALI: This is an admonition: Whosoever will, let him take a (straight) Path to his Lord. PICKTHAL: Lo! this is an Admonishment, that whosoever will may choose a way unto his Lord. SHAKIR: Surely this is a reminder, so whoever pleases takes to his Lord a way. 076.030 YUSUFALI: But ye will not, except as Allah wills; for Allah is full of Knowledge and Wisdom. PICKTHAL: Yet ye will not, unless Allah willeth. Lo! Allah is Knower, Wise. SHAKIR: And you do not please except that Allah please, surely Allah is Knowing, Wise; (wasalam) w/r w/b: La fata illa Ali1 point -

Questions That Led The Shia To The Truth
Gypsy reacted to Haydar Husayn for a topic
Too boring, and lame questions. Even if hypothetically a Sunni could convince me that Shi'ism is wrong, he could never convince me of the truth of his religion. It is just too incoherent. The questions presented here aren't that good at all, whereas the questions Shias can ask of Sunnis are so good that knowledgeable Sunnis tell the others to stay away from Shias for fear of being consumed with doubts. On the other hand, I have never heard of a Shia scholar telling Shias not to talk to Sunnis. The only real question I could detect in this video was the one about Umm Kulthum being married to Umar. I don't really know why a Sunni would want to go there, because their own narrations don't exactly put the affair in a very flattering light (read http://www.shiachat....ost__p__2178526). From our side, most Shias will just deny the event ever took place, so they have no questions to answer, but for those of us that do accept it happened, we have hadiths from our Imams (as) that explain that Imam Ali (as) was forced into giving her in marriage (read http://www.revivinga...mm-kulthum.html ).1 point -

Your Ahlus Sunnah Faqih Imam al-Sarkhsy didnt view things that way: Your Imam here, actually admits this is tantamount to Tahreef since the Goat ate the ayaat after the Death of the Prophet. I've underlined where he said this, furthermore he states the Shias probably fabricated this hadith, which shows he didnt trust the Science of Rijaal that the Sunnis were peddling. (al-Mabsoot, volume 5, page 134) Imam al-Qurtubi, your Mufassir equally feels just as embarassed and blames this on Shi'as and Mulhids (Atheists) showing he thought it was Tahreef also and probably didnt trust your hadith sciences much. (Tafseer al Qurtubi, vol. 14, page 113) Damn your other Mufassir, al-Alusi, says exactly the same... It's a lie from the Atheists. Showing he was embarassed by it and thought it was tahreef, he also didnt care much for your hadith sciences either. (Ruh al-Ma'ani, vol. 11, p. 140) So, they certainly were ashamed by this..... and viewed it as Tahreef. Also didnt trust your hadith gradings very much.1 point -

Question Regarding Khums
Hameedeh reacted to alimohamad40 for a topic
salaam brother the khums is as they say " haq al imam" and " haq alsada" haq al imam is 50% which is given to the imam the imam represented by the marja that you believe he is an imam and not one who doesn't talk or admits that he doesn't interfere in politics or he separates the church from the state Haq alsada 50% some people say sada means the hashimites of the prophet Mohammad decedents some people say it is the ministers of the government of imam mahdi or the forerunners for him to say that 50% of khums (which is the main revenue of the government) goes only to the decedents of the prophet sounds like injustice and discrimination based on the bloodline which is totally rejected by Islamic fundamentals (usool aldeen) and by fundamental fiqh formulas so your safest bet is to make sure it reaches the marja3 who is an imam that you trust and he will deal with it1 point -

salaam the most important thing is to avoid comparing salaam remember the first problem in the world is when Satan compared. this is because comparison creates jealousy and envy and hate "love for your brother what you love for yourself" the famous say of Jesus and prophet Mohammad. just try to do your normal duties towards your husband and avoid the jealousy so you don't end up fighting and driving him away, but you have to give your advice regarding religious matters (amr Bilmaroof),,, That he must use marriage and he can not have a relation with a woman without a marriage contract And that announcing marriage is mustahab (recommended) in Islam so to avoid the secrecy Regarding the kids its a mercy to have a co-wife who has kids so she can fill up that emptiness my wife and me have always wished this. its very advantageous if the relation between the co wives is good1 point -
*facepalm* This question was orginally being fired at sunnis... and now some Shia are saying hadeeth al Kisa' is not authentic. Unbelievable. 1. For those who doubt the narration of Kisa' - you would be rejecting: that Imam Ali said "w fazu shi3tna w rabb il ka'ba", also that the entire universe was created out of love of the five under the cloak, also that Jibrail joined the Five Pure ones under the cloak etc etc... I mean, come on, who would make all of this up? Its already been 100% established that they did go under the cloak and were purified, so why would someone lie about the details? Just to spice it up? I dont think so.. 2. Furthermore, you're indirectly stating that we are narrating a lie in every shia mosque. Isn't that eligible for punishment in the afterlife? 3. What do mainstream scholars, such as the likes of Sayed Sistani, say about hadeeth al kisa'?1 point

This is not right. There are many half mullahs who have studied for 5-10 years and their curriculum only teaches them how to lead prayers, tell people about zakat and khums. They claim that they follow so and so ayatollah however they only refer back to tawzih when u sit on their head. And in most cases they give their own opinions and they are the people whom people follow the most. Shiachat have askers in thousands but real life people follow the local mullahss, zakireen. However when u question all of them about how sure they are about what they are doing; the most common answer is 'loyalty to ayatollah is our islam' Sunnis are our brothers and enemies of marjas are enemy agents among us.1 point -

(bismillah) Yes, we only see what we want to see. And exactly, i think we muslims should put aside our differences and instead unite. I think both sides (shia and sunni) are to blame because individuals of both sides dont tolerate each other and this constantly causes tension and tension causes weakness amongst the muslims. As one, we should all fight "together" against the enemies of islam instead of fighting "each other". But further more, i blame the arab dictator regimes for this. As i see it, arabs themselves also believe in the above (unless they're wahabbi). Wasalam.1 point -

There can be only two types of judgments; one from Allah azwj (based on ilm) and another from shaytaan l.a( based on jahal) if anyone had the right to say something without proof then it could have have been Allah azwj and masoomeeen a.s but they presented proofs no matter what it was. So if a person(mujtahid/alim) presents a fatwa and if it is from Allah azwj then u did taqleed to Allah azwj but if he erred then u did taqleed to shaytaan l.a. To resolve the issue one must have transparent proofs as to how the fatwa was reached and there ends controversy. So all the resources usoolis and akhbaris have should be spent on transparency on how a decision was made that is it I request.1 point -
Mr. Bukhari doesn't know that Quran. He claims that the verse of Tayyamum was reveled in surah 5, which is almost the last surah of the Holy Quran. However, the verse of Tayyamum was reveled much, much earlier in surah 4. Goes to show that he just relied on sanad (rijal) only, and not on the matn (text) or he doesn't know the Holy Quran. And, his rijal consisted mainly of four, Aisha, abu Hurairah, ibn Omar and ibn Abbas.1 point

What Sunnis Believe About Hazrat Hamza (ra)?

I dont think thats entirely fair. I rather get the impression that Mystic is genuinly searching for truth and he's not a person who can push questions or confusion aside, which i think many of us do. If you care about truth you will question, its a harder path too take and a braver path in many ways. Too many of us are lazy and cowardly about this sort of thing. Ive read a few of Mystics threads and i dont think he's trying to upset people or cause trouble, i think he's genuinly frustrated and disappointed and i get the impression he really does want people to help him resolve these questions, but something just isnt clicking in him at the moment and he's finding it increasingly frustrating. He has legitimate concerns and instead of telling him his views are 'disgusting' it might be more productive if people tried to keep some maturity and genuinly help with his investigations (which most people seem to be doing mashallah). Defensiveness is an indication of you being unsure of your position.1 point

If It Is Haram To Be Jealous Of Another Wife?
ImAli reacted to OneNoteSong for a topic
It's "no doubt sinful"....you are just putting your own interpretation onto this. If the divorce is halal, it doesn't matter why she is doing it. In Islam, there is no punishment for thoughts or desires, just actions. But the action in this case is halal, so there's no sin going on.1 point -
Is Karbala Holier Than Mecca?
Something Given reacted to Qa'im for a topic
(salam) What's relevant is not how the land/dirt/soil is holy (whatever that means), but rather, what physically took place on this land, and what deeds can be done on the land. The best comparison I can give between the Ka`ba and Karbala' is something I saw in a Sunni hadith on peacemaking. The Prophet (pbuh) said that peacemaking is more meriting for a Muslim than salat, so you attain more hasanaat by creating peace between two brothers than praying the 5 furudh. Salat however is the best action in Sunni Islam and the second best action in Shi`i Islam; it is the first thing that will be asked of us on the Day of Judgment. While peacemaking may attain more hasanaat, the negation of peacemaking in your life is neither a good deed or a sin, while the negation of salat is negation of a fardh. Negation of fardh takes you out of Islam, while negation of a sunna (even if it is more meriting) does not. So it's similar with Karbala'. Hajj is a fardh and must be completed to keep your Islam - whoever denies Hajj is not a Muslim. Ziyara of Husayn (as) is more meriting than Hajj, but refraining from ziyara is no sin.1 point -
The Christians Evangelicals are very different. They incorrectly believe that life began at conception or as soon as the sperm enters the ovum. For us Shias, life actually began when the embryo is implanted on the uterus. I don't remember the high school biology that well but in the initial stage what is happening is that you now have the DNA from both the parents to form a single cell. We do not call this life yet. It will go through a complicated process call cell division. This is not a baby. It is after 7 days that it can travel down the fallopian tube. It takes a few days to attach itself completely in the womb. As soon as it gets stuck to the uterus wall then it get nourishment and only then it can sustain the life. The Sunnis are absolutely wrong when they allow abortion below 4 months. This is out-right murder. The baby's first heartbeat is around week 5. Heartbeat is one of the most visible sign of life.1 point

It is not simply to stop to ovulation. It can actually stop the implantation of the zygot from the uterus. And if there is no implantation then there is no life. So technically you are not killing a baby but shedding cells.1 point

The issue itself is pointless. Even if you do believe that the Qur'an is altered, what does that mean for you as a follower of the Jafari maddhab? The foundation of this maddhab is Qur'an and Ahl al-Bayt. Even if it is altered, you still have to follow it, and an alteration does not necessarily mean that the message of the Qur'an changes. Personally, I think the obsession with the tahrif issue is another way for the nawasib to cast doubt on other Muslims. Think of how easy it is to just use a premise and then build on top of it a conclusion to attack others: "You are not a Muslim if you believe the Qur'an has been changed," "The (Group X) believe that the Qur'an has been changed," and finally, "Group X are not Musiim and wajib ul-qatl." (Mind you I do believe that the Qur'an has not been changed, but I take issue with people who make this into some huge point of creed.)1 point

Altered Quran..

(salam) Imam Ali (as) says in Nahjul Balagha: “We did not make human rulers, but we made the Quran the ruler over humans. This Quran is free of change, but doesn’t speak on its own accord, an interpreter is needed for this task……”. “ Ali bin Salam narrates from his father who asked Imam Jafer Sadiq “ O descendant of Prophet, what are your views on the Quran? Imam Jafar replied “ the Quran is Allah’s book; it contains commands of Allah; sent by Allah. It is not subject to alteration, neither can anyone claim it has been changed, no has anyone ever made such a claim.” Allama Sayyid Muhammad Hussein Tabatabai writes in his exegesis 'Tafsirul Meezaan', “ The Quran which Almighty Allah descended on Prophet Mohammad (S) is protected from any change.” Ibn Babawayh aka "Shaykh Saduq" (309/919 - 381/991), wrote: "Our belief is that the Qur’an which Allah revealed to His Prophet Muhammad is (the same as) the one between the two covers (daffatayn). And it is the one which is in the hands of the people, and is not greater in extent than that. The number of Suras as generally accepted is one hundred and fourteen ...And he who asserts that we say that it is greater in extent than that, is a liar." You should aslo read 'The Collection and Preservation of Quran' by Ayatullah Khui “It is clear from what we have mentioned above that the question of interpolation or profanity occurring in the Qur'an is baseless, advocated by those who have poor judgment, or those who refuse to ponder, or those who are infatuated with the task of disproving the Qur'an and indeed, infatuation makes a person blind and deaf. A person with intellect and sense of justice can have no doubt about baselessness of this presumption.” I think you should make a point of reading this: Tahrif al Qur'an: a study of the misconceptions regarding the corruption of the Qur'an. http://www.al-islam.org/al-tawhid/misconceptions/misconceptions.htm (wasalam) http://www.al-islam.org/nutshell/files/tahrif.pdf1 point -
to answer your question think of it this way a King tells his Prime Minister what he is planning but if the PM is addressing the people and the King sends a messenger to deliver the message that it is time to reveal such and such decree. does that mean that the PM needs the messenger to know what the king is has planned or that the messenger is only arriving and saying that what the King was planning it is now to be reveal. that is the same thing with the Holy Prophet (SAW) and Jibreel.1 point

(bismillah) (salam), @ Shia9c Yes they aren't allowed to drive here in KSA. Though they do go around in taxis. Good too, because women here wear veils (naqaab), they wouldn't be able to see anything, especially at night. Their fathers/husbands, forbid them to go around outside without veils. @ Shaheen Women are NOT equal to men (in religious matter) and I'm not an extremist Taliban. :) Women have three deficiencies, in religous matters, not according to ME but according to Imam Ali (as) : ' O' ye peoples! Women are deficient in Faith, deficient in shares and deficient in intelligence. As regards the deficiency in their Faith, it is their abstention from prayers and fasting during their menstrual period. As regards deficiency in their intelligence it is because the evidence of two women is equal to that of one man. As for the deficiency of their shares that is because of their share in inheritance being half of men. So beware of the evils of women. Be on your guard even from those of them who are (reportedly) good. Do not obey them even in good things so that they may not attract you to evils. ' Nahjul Balagha, SERMON - 80 http://www.al-islam.org/nahj/ (refer to SERMON - 80) I hope your question is answered, IF you believe in the truth of Peak of Eloquence. :) (wasalam) Basim Ali Jafri1 point
