Br. Aba always has good things to say. I love the fact that I am from the heartland of Resistance (Bint Jbeil). I am indebted to every family member who has died as part of the Resistance, as I'm sure you are as well. I am staunchly pro-Resistance. I'm a full-blown Shi'i--saturated in Shi'a fat. I live off of shawarma, tawouk, kafta and tabouli. You should come by my dungeon when I am training and you can listen to Shi'a nasheeds with chest pounding so hard your head will spin. People shouldn't doubt my Shi'a credibility. Hell, I don't even talk to other sects. B)

  5. Here is a message to the youth of Shiachat. There are a lot of fitnah debates going on right now about Usoolism and that other thing. I think the proponents of the latter use their self-righteousness to their advantage; it is through their self-righteousness that they convince people that they are the purest followers of Islam and they are the most close to the ahlul bayt. But whenever you wonder about whether or not this is the truth, all of you brothers and sisters (especially those of you who are young and perhaps a bit confused) should consider this: why, with respect to the issue of taqleed, khums, WF... are secularists and wannabes in agreement with each other? The wannabes have some ahadith; but what do the secularists have to suggest that they are the pure followers of ahlul bayt? Why are these two groups in agreement? My take: they are both driven by the same motivation. Their motivation is arrogance and rebellion. "Pssssh... why do I have to follow so-and-so? I read half of al-Kafi, I know way more than him. I keeps it real, son." Something to consider...

  6. I was born in Lebanon, you intellectual infantile. My mother is from Bint Jbeil and is a relative of the late Ayatollah Fadlallah. My father is from the Northern Bek'aa. I was born in Beirut during the war. I was in Lebanon as late as 2009. Take a look at your post and compare it to what I said: in no way have you addressed any of the issues I raised. Instead, you revert to more nationalist nonsense. I don't care about Syria. In fact, I've stated repeatedly that the Resistance has no reason to alienate a Muslim ally, but other than that, I don't believe that a Allawi family should rule the country. In what way have you addressed any of my points? Fools such as yourself are not entitled to an opinion on this matter. Address my points before exposing your ignorance... and then to "accuse" me of being Syrian? Mashallah. Based on this post, I can tell that you are barely literate. Read my posts again and address my points. I am from Jabal Amel. There is a significant difference between the nationalist nonsense being spewed by ex-pats and saying something like this: I admire a large segment of the Lebanese population because of their resilience, hard work and refusal to go along with Zionist aggression. They have accomplished things that the entire umma is too pathetic to accomplish. The Resistance is an inspiration to us all; it remained steadfast when sectarian elements were trying to undermine it, including the efforts of Harriri, Israel and Saudi Arabia to disable its telecommunications network. For this reason, I respect the Lebanese who remain steadfast in their convictions. They have had the most to lose over the past 20 years, yet they have persisted. But this is not the picture that the ex-pats are drawing. The ex-pats will have you believe that Lebanon is a jannah because of its mountains, night clubs and debke. It just goes to show you what the umma values. I guess this makes me a dunya person, right? It makes me a dunya person for saying that a country should provide its people with access to clean water, an education system that they can rely on, electricity to heat their homes in the winter time, a health system that provides bare minimum care and a political system that has a modicum of justice. Mashallah, brother. May God reward you for your clear thinking. Pay no attention to the zealous nationalists; they are merely reliving history and further institutionalizing a nation-state system that does not cohere with the religion or ideology they claim to follow. People should remember what Khomeini said about nationalism, patriotism and Iran.

  9. Salams MDM Doesn't matter which school or sub-school of Islam we identify ourselves with.. First and foremost, all of us need to agree on certain fundamentals of the process of learning, sharing knowledge and views in order for us to make a difference. To begin with, we should all: 1) Focus on being Muslims and Momineen for these two identities trully matter in the eyes of Allah and His Divine Authorities. 2) Ensure that our intention in the entire learning process is to please Allah, His Prophet(s) and Imams. Endless arguments (only) to impress other readers is a waste of everyones time and an embarassment to the religion. 3) Make silence our best friend. Think before we speak. Listen to others and ponder on their views/beliefs before we question them. 4) Don't let ego become a hindrance when prompted with genuine questions from others or when we question ourselves with reasoning. 5) Don't argue with others unless we have sincerely convinced ourselves. e.t.c Fi-Amanillah

  10. salaam brother asphyxiated i agree with you. these days its so hard to find people who have stripped away their national identity and put forward their ideological identity . When we give evidence of how much strife it is causing they ignore it . I am getting so sick of this that i use reverse psychology . last time i was with a man and he is telling me: We Iraqis are the best people ( i am also from Iraq background but i even hesitate to call myself Iraqi i just say i was born there or that's my back ground so it wouldn't appear as a national identity given any importance) he told me " us iraqies are the best people in the world" I said : " look everywhere there are good and bad people" he insisted " yes but we are the best, we are generous, good etc" lol i said to him: " actually we are the worse in the world you know why?" i remember when we were in Iraq when people want to catch a bus they don't use a Que but they jump from the windows of the bus like savage animals to preserve a seat... If they were islamic then islam means organization..... when there was a revolution against saddam people became involved in looting ..... the sewage is floating... ETC it just makes me so sick that people always take pride in things they have not achieved themselves and that is the attributes of the hypocrites as mentioned in the quraan " those who like to be praised by what they have not done" They take pride in things that they did not choose or things that they had no role in whatsoever as if its an achievement of theirs. Egyptions shout about " the pharonic civilization" and that Egypt is the mother of the world!!! maybe while he is making his claim he will be distracted and trip and fall in a hole in middle of the street full of sewerage water for god's sake what role did you have in building the pyramids? and what pride do you take in those tyrants who killed the prophets ? Excuse my language some one said: " if Egypt is the mother of the world then it all makes sense why the world is such a daughter of a ***** " exactly the same disease in Iraq they are so proud of the Babylon empires who were mainly tyrants and pagans or prophet killers and they keep saying " we are the first civilization on earth" i wonder how the first civilization on earth has failed to teach its citizens to not jump through the windows of a bus like savages and not to jump ques. I mean at least clean the sewerage from your house then start talking before you sink into it while your making your false claims... They really love it it tickles their ego and raises their self They are such desperate failures who have no real achievements so they resort to trying to steal the credit from people of 3000 years ago or just make up lies and believe their own lies to stay in that happy fantasy. Iranians " we are the aryans (Nazi ideology) and we had the first civilization and rules the world" they are so proud of an empire where the son killed the father and the father killed the son just for the throne and they prophet killing monsters of Persia one iranian was saying " Abraham was an iranian" lol okay maybe he was but why is it so important to elevate your nation? just to elevate your low self right? its a lacking and emptiness that the human wants to fill up with an empty bubble to boost the ego I know i will propably get a death sentence for sayign these things but I dont care anymore because i have had it with nationalism i watched the way iraqis of the same ideologies opposed khoomainy under this racist iran iraq thing ... they put forward their nationalism before their religion... I am also aware of the WWRs and the racist fuel that fed them where 70 million people died in the second one I watch racism in my community . people reject Eachother for marriage or people bad mouth each other or people hog each mosque for particular nationality brother i also want to hear your views about the mess that's happening in Syria now because its making me very uncomfortable and i want opinions with no bias and who would provide a better opinion that the person who got rid of their own nationalist bias ? some people say it could be the sufyanis movement emerging some people saying to say Bashar have put mainly alawis in high position is a myth some people say majority of the people are with the assad so am questioning if majority are with him why not announce a referendum to avoid all the bloodshed? any way maybe in another thread so I dont sidetrack this one salam brother south we are not talking about that type of nationalism if nationalism means you love Lebanon and work your life to fix it and make it a better place and encourage unity between the sectors then thats welcomed for sure the negative nationalism is to think you are better and to segregate yourelf from other humans who are from different backgrounds but have your same ideology so in reality who is the Lebanese? why am i not one? if i love that country and love to fix it just like i would love any place on earth why limit yourself to an imaginary line that France and Britain drew up for you and respect that line and regard it holy? who is the Iranian? who is the Iraqi? didnt shaheed sadr say that iraq and iran are Fay for all Muslims? (public property) racism is to favor one on the other because you belong to that one and this is the exact thing that flowers is feeling and admitting as you see here are some hadeeths about racism which Brother JIMJAM has posted on another thread as you see the definition of racism is to favor one over the other which is exactly the essence of nationalism or tribalism because you give that nation a priority based on unreasonable grounds other than the selfish drive that you belong to it. Imam Jafar said; “The Messenger of Allah has said, ‘Whoever practices racial discrimination or it is practiced for him has removed the collar of belief from his neck.’” Al-Kafi, Book of Belief and Disbelief H 2542, CH 119, h 2 “The Messenger of Allah has said, ‘Whoever has racist feelings in his heart of the size of mustard seed, on the Day of Judgment Allah will raise him with the Arabs of the time of Jahiliyah (dark age).’” Al-Kafi, Book of Belief and Disbelief H 2543, CH 119, h 3 “On the Day of Judgment Allah will join those who practice racial discrimination with a race in fire.” Al-Kafi, Book of Belief and Disbelief H 2544, CH 119, h 4 “The angels thought that Satan was one of them. In the knowledge of Allah he was not one of them. He (Satan) let out that which was in his soul with racist feelings and anger saying,‘You have created me from fire and You created him from clay.’” Al-Kafi, Book of Belief and Disbelief H 2546, CH 119, h 6 “Once, Ali ibn al-Husayn, was asked about racist feelings. He said, ‘The racist feeling that is a sin is the one that makes a person call the evil doers of his own people better than the virtuous individuals of the other people. A man’s loving his own people is not racism but it is a sin to help one’s own people to commit injustice.” Al-Kafi, Book of Belief and Disbelief H 2547, CH 119, h 7

And what are you again? Syrian? LOL, If you are, you're the last person that should be badmouthing Lebanon... Why in the hell are you hating on people who love their country? If anything, it's the surrounding countries who have been holding it back from advancing the way it should have since long... Wars, political influences and of course the lovely Palestinians... The way you talk and your moronical reasoning strongly suggests that you would prefer Israelstine or any country in the west to "Simple Mother Lands" just because they are more up to your standards...

  13. (bismillah) (salam) All the problems, in Shiachat, in real life, everywhere of our life, comes from one place: Our inability to respect other people's thoughts! If u cannot respect other people's thoughts there will be NO advancement in our religion! When we dont have imam zaman at our reach, Islamic advancement is left at our hands, and since we dont know the true islam, each scholar will come up with different thoughts, thus the Shirazi's the Fadhlalah's the Khamenei's etc. But in the end of the day they're all moslims and none of them are trying to ruin islam, and even if the scholar is, the follower isnt! So there's no need to slander each other, and offend one another's thoughts and create another trouble in islam! We're already suffering from the un-united Shia-sunni; Even though we should be the most powerful ppl on earth and have the last say, yet because shia and sunni slander each other and dont tolerate each other look at where we are in the world! Same thing is happening within Shia itself! Just respect each other's thoughts, no need to offend, slander, criminalize, etc etc because these never solve anything but rather just make things worse! Also, they cause an environment where freedom of speech is gone away and with that, haq may go away too! None of the groups are absoloutly right and none of them are absoloutly wrong! To find the right and wrong in each one, we must listen, judge, and respectfully say what we think, argue respectfully if needed! Problem is ppl: Pre-judge, dont listen and then slander and offend! :squeez: Wasalam

    Question To Consider

Salam Alaykom, don't nit pick each other. people talk about what they are interested in, I think all people should edge more into their minds that saying by the imam (as) Mankind is either your brother in faith or your brother in humanity If Allah can promise mercy to jews and christians in his book why can't he have mercy on all us splintered sects of disagreeing people? it is many of us who cannot over look peoples little things different to what we think is right alot of the time,Allah is much better and higher than us in mercy, although we should be letting the way for reflection of his mercy to manifest through us on how we treat others who are the same and different from us. we know surly it is not us who portion out the mercy of Allah it is only Allah who has mercy upon mankind. Salam Alaykom Sis you really switch sides?

  17. This is very true. Arabic is a very deep language and even Arabs who are born speaking Arabic still have to spend years studying the language to get a good handle of the Classical language. There's examples of Arab Companions of the Prophet(pbuh), who knew Fusha, emphasizing to other Arab Companions of the Prophet(pbuh) who knew Fusha the need to learn Arabic. SubhanAllah how about us now-a-days? The Quran is on a completely different level from even the Classical language and it's depths and subtlies (not sure how to spell this one) aren't appreciated really much at all in this age of ours. For example, for the word "husband", in the Quran, we sometimes see the phrase "زوج" and sometimes we see the phrase "بعل". Translated, into English, they both generally mean "husband/partner/spouse" (generally!). But when we go deeper into the words, we see that these two words (while having the same English translation) hold starkly different connotations. "بعل" implies more mastery than "زوج" (there's a lot more depth but i don't want to go into so much detail so late at night) and when we see these phrases in the Quran, we see that Allah(swt) uses the correct word with the correct meaning and the correct emphasis every single time. Had there been even one instead where, "بعل" should have been used instead of "زوج" (for the ayah to make sense in its general context), then that would have been a proof that the Quran was falsified. But we see the most perfect usage and most perfect meaning of each word in the Quran. This is why the early Arabs didn't attack the eloquence of the Quran; rather they attacked the Messenger (pbuh). Even common things like knowing when to use تاب or غفر, the Quran uses the most suitable word for each instance that we see these words. Or in the Quran, we see Allah(swt) using مطر and ماء and غيث to basically mean "rain", yet each one of these has a very specific meaning and we see the Quran using the most appropriate one for each respective situation every single time. Brother Macisaac gave use a good and brief explanation between ghayth and matar here: http://www.shiachat....ost__p__2254103 ^Actually, that post should be sufficient enough to show: 1) The difference in depth between Arabic and English (and thus why translations are nothing compared to the real thing) 2) The specific meaning that each word has There have been books written on this subject alone. And the Quran using the right word every single time is only one part of the miracle of its eloquence. There are dozens of other sciences where the Quran shows it's miraculous nature time and time again. And hopefully this can be an inspiration to some of the brothers to take learning Arabic seriously so they can get the knowledge themselves without having to rely on Shaykh so and so and so that they can really appreciate the beauty of the Quran But alhamdulillah, the Quran has something in there for everyone. Even if we don't appreciate it's eloquence, we can at least appreciate it's Message

  22. It actually is a fiqh question, unless you think that islam deals with what is kur, and how to pray etc. This needs to be implemented in our minds that islam is every aspect of our life. We do a really good job of doing the lipservice by saying yes islam is everything, yet when something comes up which conflicts our understanding then we are more then happy to give our personal feelings. A simple litmus test, go up to a marja (actually just a reputable scholar) and simply tell them that you "feel" that a husband should tell his wife about his past, and see how they respond. We should all be thankful that Islam is complete and all rules have been given we just have to follow them, yet anything we dont like or feel awkward with, we are ready to throw in our opinions. We have created our own version of islam, Quran mentions it clearly on how we follow our own Idols (these ayats are for us, they didnt come for hindus or christians). All i mentioned here is from lectures that i hear, not how i feel not an opinon. During time of Umar caliphate, people used to come to Imam Ali (as) his good companions, and ask him to take the caliphate, but Imam Ali (as) refused them saying that you wont be able to take my justice. Pure Islam is hard to follow, hence we do a good job of keeping things we like and ignoring we dont want. If what i said is extreme, then for sure what Imam Ali (as) implemented had to be more extreme. Know why the Imam isnt coming? because we are not ready for his justice. We want to give our suggestions.

What's funny is that the Quran pays more attention to Mary than many Prophets mentioned in the holy book, even Jesus is mentioned less in the Quran than his mother. I'm interested to know what lessons she taught her son and if she had any disciples of her own.

Weather weapons are certainly real; http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Haarp and http://en.wikipedia....i/Cloud_seeding The Amerikkkans have from their very illegal "inception" fought "wars" of conquest and genocide. The Amerikkkans went after their former buddy Saddam because he dared to sell Iraqi oil in Euros rather accepting being tied to the US dollar. As for "al-Qaeda" (aka al-CIA-duh) and the Taliban, the imperialist Amerikkkans gave birth to them so the fact they are now allegedly trying to "eliminate" them is hilarious if you think about it. If the West is trying to "get rid" of "al-Qaeda" (aka al-CIA-duh) the first thing I would suggest is to stop funding, arming, employing, dining, and supporting them! http://www.guardian....-worked-for-mi6 Guantánamo Bay files: Al-Qaida assassin 'worked for MI6' http://www.telegraph...aeda-links.html Libyan rebel commander admits his fighters have al-Qaeda links Abdel-Hakim al-Hasidi, the Libyan rebel leader, has said jihadists who fought against allied troops in Iraq are on the front lines of the battle against Muammar Gaddafi Anwar al-Awlaki, the "al-Qaeda" CIA lacky, had dinner at the Pentagon with the Pentagon's top brass even after the false flag of "9/11"! Then as for the Taliban (putting aside that the imperialist US regime created them to fight the Soviet occupation of Afghanistan), the US went after them for picking the Argentine oil firm Bridas over the US oil firm Unocal (now part of Chevron) to run the Trans-Afghanistan oil and natural gas pipeline. http://moraloutrage....istan-pipeline/ http://www.counterpu...nd-the-taliban/ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oRvwGnuc8UM&feature=channel_video_title Very important article refuting the claims of the US military industrial complex and the US regime it runs on why the US has brutally attacked and occupied Afghanistan: http://www.informati...rticle25821.htm As for Iraq, yes some paid off local puppets have supported the Amerikkkan imperialist occupation that doesn't excuse even one ounce of the crimes of the imperialist US occupation thugs, thieves, rapers, and criminals. As for imperialist Amerikkkan occupation claims on the Taliban allegedly being "responsible for more deaths" then the US occupation, I "believe" this about as much as I believe in magic passports that allegedly survive fire without even being burnt or singed at all while at the same time indestructible black boxes are allegedly destroyed and never found! http://www.liveleak....=0f8_1311621659 http://whatreallyhap...black-box-found

^ Let it go, for goodness' sake. Some people just feel an attachment to their roots and feel like they are privileged to be a part of a nation/nation-state. I doubt they all literally look down upon everybody else. Mountain out of a mole hill. Only on ShiaChat would a simple, everyday miniature-spark of nationalism invoke such an over reaction. 42. (salam) It depends on the information. If you have reason to believe that by saying it, it may disrupt your marriage and cause many arguements or even God Forbid divorce then you shouldn't tell. It is the duty of both of you to find out about the past of each other before marriage if you want to, but once your married its too late, its the fault of your own if you have married without asking about the past and then start asking questions. Also its not good to be suspicious, asking questions after marriage may seem like you are suspicious of something, it leads to doubts and feelings of lack of trust. In the end more bad than good will most likely come out if it, but in some cases more good may come out of it. (wasalam)

  43. (salam) Akhbaris and Usoolis are not Shia sects. We don’t have different Imams or books. We use the same hadiths collection. And our past scholars are the one and the same. Even among the Usoolis you have disagreement. For e.g someone pointed out (I think MysticKnight) why do Usoolis disagree on rulings for Chess? Some scholars say you are allowed to play and some scholars disallow you to even own a chessboard. And I guess it is human nature to disagree. Nowadays it is getting very hard to define what mainstream Shia is anymore. Is Wilayah al-Faqih now a part of the mainstream Shia? The reason I am asking is because if we are trying to push all the Akhabari ideas out of the main forum then we need to do a more through job of cleansing the non-Usoolis ideas that are regularly promoted by the Usoolis themselves.
    1 point
  44. There are no such major differences between akhbaris and usoolis. Both groups are basically 12er shias with difference of opinion in regards to authority and responsibility of our esteemed scholars.
