Admins need to look at the rules and regulations of this site. We aren't allowed to request for Allahs (SWT) mercy to be removed from Abu Bakr, Uthman, and Umar, and yet you allow members of the site to openly slander the names of our beloved scholars. People who have given and dedicated their entire lives to serve our beloved religion are insulted on a daily basis, whilst moderators hunt for people saying la'nah, giving them harsh and instant warnings. The current state of things is disgusting and shameful. This issue needs to be looked at. Just now even, whilst I was in the chatroom, I had to endure certain members slandering the good names of Al-Shaheed Mohammed Baqir Al-Sadr, Syed Al-Khomeini, and also Syed Mohammed Al-Musawi. I left the chatroom with disgust, and I do not intend to return there until the current state of affairs is rectified.9 points

Salam alaikum dear brothers and sisters, In my recent rant against members who slander scholars, a few members expressed that they think I am being hypocritical, and that I have no right to complain whilst I myself sin. I must admit, I agree. I have no right to criticise other members whilst I myself post music, etc. For that reason, I promise that from this moment forth, I shall post no music, or anything of the sort. JazakumUllah. However, I will add, I will NEVER stand for the slandering of our scholars. That is unforgivable.4 points -

Question To Akhbaris
habib e najjaar and one other reacted to Aabiss_Shakari for a topic
(salam) I have few question from Akhbaris. As Akhbaris claim that there is no need of Taqleed of a Mujtahid in Islam and one can recourse to Quran and Hadiths of Prophet (pbuh) and Ahl ul bait a.s for knowing about any verdict on a issue. Therefore, i want to know what is Akhbari reply on the basis of Quran and sayings of Ahl ul bait a.s in the following Issues. 1. Is heart transplant or liver transplant allowed or not? Please provide Quranic reference or reference from hadiths of Prophet (pbuh) and Ahl ul bait a.s. 2. What is the ruling for a person who forgot to offer Tashud in prayer. As taqleed is not allowed please provide direct reference from Quran and sayings of Prophet (pbuh) and Ahl ul bait a.s. 3. If you have answer from Quran and sayings of Ahl ul bait a.s regarding the aforementioned issues and you paste them here with relevant references (as i do not have direct access to so many books and i have not specialized in Islamic knowledge) and i accept this then will it not mean that I have literally followed you though you have just informed me about hadiths and Quranic verses regarding the matter in question. Will it not mean that you have taught me and I did your "Taqleed" in this issue? I shall put more questions as the thread will proceed. Looking forward for the response of those who are against Ijtehad and Taqleed and Pseudo-Akhbaris.2 points -
Co Wife Question
14infallibles and one other reacted to alimohamad40 for a topic
Salaam eid Mubarak Ruqayah: It's not the right of the wife to know if her husband took another wife because it's not her business specially if she wants to know in order to reject or harm the others or destroy the new flourishing relationship. It's only her right not to be lied to and there is a big difference between not announcing and actually lying Announcing marriage is generally mustahab in Islam Refraining from mustahab is not prohibited. The problem is you need to establish with your self what is your constitution and reference in life. You can not say "my own morality" because the moral codes which are derived from the "selves" are subjective to each self. Humanity needs an absolute and objective reference for morality. Remember when you sit in a court you can not say "my own morality" but you have to refer to the constitution which is a universal code of morality Examples of subjective motalities of different people colliding is the example of gays. Some say it's good and they have the right and some say it's Evil and they should be punished if they come public with it. Also note that there is a difference between dismissing ahadeeth because you have done a genuine ijtihad and find that hadeeth in contradiction with usool aldeen or in contradiction with well established juristic formulas or has a fault In transmission then this is genuine But to dismiss randomly based on the feelings that you get then it's very likely that those unguided feelings are your desires or self imposed comfort zones that ur not willing to exit. Ur mind is the sound of god and your self desire is the sound of the devil so you Need to make distinction between the two2 points -

Sex With Female Slaves?
Hassan- and one other reacted to Haydar Husayn for a topic
I can't speak for the ones that opened these threads, or the others who are participating in them, but for me it has nothing to do with talking about sex (as if that is really what is going on here). What we are discussing is the principle of submitting to the will of Allah, which is what it means to be a Muslim. What we are discussing is the fact that some people condemn as immoral behaviour things that were done or approved by the Prophet (pbuh) and the Imams (as). This has nothing to do with sex, and everything to do with what it is to be a (Shia) Muslim.2 points -

Urgent Attention Of Admins
Shia_Debater and one other reacted to Abbas. for a topic
Salams Dear Members While the issues raised by you will be addressed and dealt with by SC team, there are a couple of points that need to be conveyed to all members just so that you understand our perspective and that we are all on the same page. Firstly, the responsibility of ensuring that forum rules are not broken does not entirely rest on SC team. We'd like to encourage all senior or serious members to contribute in this regard and make use of the "report" feature. If you see any thread, post or profile breaking forum rules, please inform us by reporting it. If you find any member misbehaving in the chatroom, please report him/her and feel free to 'printscreen' and share it with admins. If you can't be bothered doing that, atleast save some general info such as the date/time of chat and the username. We can then access chat logs to see if the member actually broke our rules. Secondly, the issue of disrespect/slander towards esteemed scholars has to be dealt with carefully. This is a grey and a sensitive area and at times, we have to differentiate between a slander and a criticism. Please note that while our principles/rules do not allow disrespect towards our esteemed marjas, we also have to allow criticism (constructive) in honor of free speech. So at times, if certain critics on the forum are being tolerated, it is not because we have lost our ways. Rather, it is the teachings of our great marjas - tolerance and patience - that we give equal opportunity to everyone. Having said that, we will obviously not let any member get away with insulting/abusive comments against our marjas/scholars. So kindly report a member who is guilty of (repeatedly) insulting our scholars. And if you feel that the team is not taking appropriate actions of your reports, please contact one of the mods/admins and submit your complaint. Thankyou Regards I2 points -
Salam Alaikum Its you who are spreading false information here. Go to Sayyid Fadhlallah's website, and they announced Eid a week ago, i.e. without going for actual sightings and by relying on atronomical information. As for Sayyid Khoei's view, go to their website and look at these links: http://www.alkhoei.org/?p=1262878259&nid=694 http://www.alkhoei.org/?p=1262878259&nid=690 The reliance for him on astronomical information is limited. Having said that, Sayyid Al-Khoei's office has decided that today Tuesday is NOT Eid, and that it should be tomorrow, in the UK. Phone them up. Its apparently seen in Chile, and nowhere else, and Al-Khoei's office has chosen not to rely on it, nor has any other office of the Maraja as far as I am aware. And do you know where the UK is??? its a little island off Europe, and it is in the black on those charts on moonsighting.com, therefore, its not visible in those regions. They are not even in the "visible by optical aid only" band on the charts.2 points

It's funny how you overlooked the entire video to point out that the guy doesnt have a thick beard. What's even funnier is how you make up your islamic principles of Hijjab, in the first 3 minutes he tells you that hijjab is something used "to cover". Then he reads the quranic verses in surah an-noor which tells people exactly how hijjab is mentioned in the holy quran, meaning there is no mention of a beard. Not only have you taken the time to be negative towards someones efforts, but you have made up your own islamic principles of Hijjab and completely disregarded the whole meaning of the video.2 points -

[MERGED] Taqleed To A Mujtahed?
Aabiss_Shakari and one other reacted to Orion for a topic
Ok I do understand your point. Let me answer your questions. Here is my reply: What I have learned over the years is that it is difficult to understand an issue based on one ayat or hadith. Its hard to find one hadith that would clarify everything. You get answers in bits and peaces. Part here and part there. Once you put everything together you get a clear picture.......are you following me so far/ Now I have quoted 2 hadith and 2 examples. The first hadith from Imam Jafar as-Sadiq (as) tells us: -We should go to qualified Shia fuqha to solve our disputes. -Qualities of fuqha. -They should rule based on the teachings of Ahlul Bait (as) -Once a faqih has ruled, he should be obeyed. -Discarding the verdict of a faqih amounts to Shirk. -There is no geographic limitation on the application of the verdict. The example of Malik e Ashtar (ra): -Tells us that obedience is not limited to the Masoomeen. A non-Masoom could also be obeyed. -The letter of Imam Ali (as) in Nehjul Balagha tells us the importance of government and administration. -This letter is also a good guide for WF. -Since Malik (ra) was appointed the governor of Egypt one can assume that his powers had geographic boundaries. To confirm this we would need more info. -It would be interesting academic exercise to see what powers Malik (ra) had if the present day fuqha (including WF) have same, more or less powers. The letter from Imam a-Asr (ATF): -Directs us to go to the narrators of hadith (Fuqha) for issues during major occultation. -Again there is no geographic limitation on the application of the verdict. -Fuqha are Imam's (ATF) last word (hujjat) for us. This hadith is of prime importance. If say I am going away for a few years (say a world tour) and I tell all my friends and subordinates that such and such person will be the last word (my hujjat) for you during my absence. Come to him for all your issues. And I place no conditions, boundaries or restrictions. Thats a big thing!!!! Now what are the duties of an Imam (as). Does that not include implementation of Sharia. So if a faqih establishes a society based on Quran and Sunna of Masoomeen, would that not be justified. Think about it. The example of fatwas issued by our Marjas. The fatwas that our scholars issue, the books Tozih al-Masail, Practical laws etc that the publish mostly have no geographic limitation. If shaving is haram, its haram for all concerned males regardless of where they lives. So why should an addict of WF not be applicable on all concerned Shias regardless of their geographic location. Put all 4 together and you will see that what I have said is right. There are many more ayats, hadith and examples that clarify the issue even further. I have given you the links. Summery: -You wont find one ayat, hadith or example that would solve all issues or answer all your questions. -Understanding comes in bits and peaces. Each ayat or hadith adds something. -Put everything togather and you will find your answer. :)2 points -

How To Cure Depression - I Found A Solution
Hameedeh reacted to Shia_Debater for a topic
(bismillah) (salam) I have found a cure for depression YAY! :D Fortunately it will work with every single person :D Unfortunately not all will be able to use it. :( I will use a logical thought process to show you how to get out of depression. When one is a muslim, the person they love the most in their lives should be Allah ÓÈÍÇäå æÊÚÇáì. He is our creator, he provides for us and if it wasnt for him we would be nothing. Therefore one should be able to easily say "Sufficient for me is Allah (swt)" Except for Allah (swt) it doesnt matter about anything else that happens, as long as we make dua and are sincere and we try hard for something to happen if it is good for us it will happen, I mean why wouldnt it? Allah (swt) would reward us by answering our duas because we are righteous servants who strive in his cause and enjoin what is good and forbid what is evil. If Allah (swt) doesnt accept the dua then again Allah (swt) is rewarding us. How you might ask? "...It is possible that ye dislike a thing which is good for you, and that ye love a thing which is bad for you. But God knoweth, and ye know not." Holy Qur'an 2:216 Lets say you are depressed because you arent married yet and you want to marry, what if you marry and then your husband ends up being a wife beater God forbid. Would you still be pleased that you got married? Or would you rather have stayed single. Lets say you are depressed because you want a child, what if your child turned out to be disobedient and got drunk all the time and did zina and you saw them wasting their life and building their own place in hell (through their bad deeds). Would you be happy that you had a child? Or would you rather you had stayed without a child? Allah knows best, if something doesnt go the way we planned we should say Alhamdullilah ! because Allah knows best, if it went the way we wanted it to we would most likely be in a worse situation than the way it actually happened because again I will re emphasize the point Allah Knows Best “…verily Allah is with those who believe.” Holy Qur'an 8:19 Some people may say, "it is difficult to get out of depression due to the fact that ....." Why would it be hard when you have Allah (swt) on your side? Except for Allah (swt) being pleased with you nothing else should bother you, in the end its Allah (swt) who will decide whether we go Jannah or Jahannam not that kid you never had or the husband/wife you never got. I would also like to say, a person who forsakes their religion for a matter of the dunya i.e. says they will dress more beautifully to catch the attention of men so their chance of marriage is higher is one who should start to become depressed. How can you be happy with anything in the dunya if it means going against what Allah (swt) has taught? And also how can you be upset with anything in the dunya if you are following the Law of Allah (swt) Spread Love Not Hate :D (wasalam)1 point -

If this was a cut and dry issue there would be no debate, there would be no difference in opinion between scholars or lay people. But there is, because unfortunately for you, Quran is and will always be open to interpretation, even amongth the most 'acedemic' and hadith will always be fallible and also open to debate. From the moment the Prophet(saw) died people have seized the Quran and interpreted it as they see fit from the perspective of their culture. The Quran entered a perverse world of fallible human beings full of sin, ignorance and weakness and has been suitably manipulated to mould to history. Sometimes that interpretation is used as a way to practice ignoble, hateful, damaging, corrosive and even evil behaviour and sometimes it is used to encourage more honourable, fairer, loving and considerate behaviour. Perhaps the Quran is written in a way so open to interpretation to sort the people with the former intentions from the people with the latter intentions.1 point

I am really really surprised that a well read person like you would hold such an opinion and be blinded to such obvious facts. To clarify one thing, i don't go to Al-Quds rally to prove my loyalty to Iran neither do the other i know of. I go because i need to answer to Allah(swt) what i did on my part to stop oppression. And as i keep repeating a thousand times, Al-Quds is not just for Pal rather for all the oppressed...i think no one really watched the video i posted. What you mention about wahhabis being a bigger headache, i think you skipped the point where i mentioned that wahhabis are sellouts and that's why they pose no threat. Wahhabis might hold as many protests as they want but anyone with 1% brain( and i am sure US policy makers atleast have that much) knows they have no agenda and no objective. It's just a lot of show. This is clearly shown by the progress of and ultimate slavery of sunni/wahhabi nations to US. The problem that i see with people on this board is that everything needs to have this western kind of logical answer. People have forgotton the basic essence of Hussainaiyat and think of that as an emotional drama. When you say Pakistan needs to face the reality and it can't act as a sovereign country...you are going against the basics of Shiaism. Kerbala is all about being small in number yet defeating a bigger enemy. You think doing american bidding at the expense of one's ethics and morals is what being a shia is about?! I am speechless that you would hold such an opinion. People need to have some faith and think through the heart rather than always trying to fit everything into a mathematical formula. You just answered my question bro...Iran is a head ache...if shia's got together....it would create a pro-iran atmosphere hence a problem for US. What exactly is Iran/Hezb to you guys?!its an example of what Shia power is all about...and that's what scares all the powers. Its a glimpse of what might happen if shia are allowed to group together. Anyways i don't think there is any point of this argument as you guys already have this Iran bias which stops you from seeing the good that they might be doing. The irony is you people admit that Iran/hezb pose a threat to US domination and yet don't agree about their truthfulness . At the end of the day, people's issue is not really about Al-Quds rather why was it started by Iran. Thats the whole issue. It's funny how no one objects to mother's day, father's day, earth day blah blah but only Al-Quds day.Khair to everyone their own.1 point

I agree with Shia_Debator an Kamran. We are shia and we supposed to have high standards. I have to say in my opinion this site has hit it's lowest point since its launch. I have never see so many hate filled and abusive posts in all the years that I have been a member. In the past some moderators used to actually warn and ban shias for being abusive. It's about time that they started doing it again. When someone visits this forum they associate the akhlaq of the individuals with their religion. Right now the forum has the potential to push people away from the religion. When shias visit the forum, they come to gain knowledge and to be inspired. They don't come to become disillusioned by aggressive and abusive people who are supposed to be religious people. It's time to sort things out. {3:104} And from among you there should be a party who invite to good and enjoin what is right and forbid the wrong, and these it is that shall be successful. I respect the person who started this thread and those who have supported him. They are speaking out when others are silent. May Allah reward them.1 point -
If It Is Haram To Be Jealous Of Another Wife?

What do you mean by "holding your own"? LOL, what about HIS responsibility to his children? He'll be taking valuable fathering time away from his children when he is not at home, off gallivanting with some other woman. 1. LOL since when is it wajib? 2. What's wrong with the beauty of your current wife? Is it not satisfying enough? 3. Helping a soul with knowledge-- Abu Hadi already established that there are plenty of other ways for a woman to gain knowledge, ex. internet. Plus, Allah gives hidaya to those whom he chooses. So, just curious, how do you educate all of your wives? How do you help them gain knowledge? 4. Prevent yourself from sin? You are married, you already have an outlet for your desires! Those people who choose to sin and have black hearts will sin whether they have one wife or four wives. Adding more wives won't help you refrain from sin, only YOU can prevent yourself from sinning. 5. To eliminate prostitution-- people often do it because of poverty, because they have no other means to provide for themselves. Why not donate money instead? If you eliminate yourself from the pool of men who go to prostitutes, it still leaves the many other men around the world who will still keep going to prostitutes. 6. Oh, is it your job to filter out the hypocrites? LOL. 7. See number 1.1 point -
The Exalted One: Agreed, all the way! I'd like to remind us all that our Imam's (a.s.) are our role models. Their marriages were not for themselves rather to be an example for us. Whether it was to set political or social grounds, their marriage always benefited Islam. By marrying 4 women, how do you plan to help your religion? Possibly, you intend on marring a helpless widow, divorcee, disabled, or poor woman?1 point

Eid After Imam Ali's Martyrdom And Karbala
Haydar Husayn reacted to Waiting for HIM for a topic
In addition, daswan or the tenth day of shahadat may not have much significance, otherwise why would the day of Arbaeen (the 40th day of Imam) would hold such a significance that ziarat on that became the sign of momin. Also since we are on the topic, I have quit paying attention to anything that is coming "Islamically" from Pakistan and India area. Due to ignorance and corrupted aqaid of Sub-Continent people, they are bringing in weird things in Shia Islam based on their defective zakir knowledge. (saying ali un wali ullah in tashud in salat, doing sajda to alam, over zealous in muharram and no knowledge of ahkam of deen are some of these example of deviant behavior). Shaitan is in over drive in Pakistan and India now a days. When i look back at these societies, I truly believe we are living in the times of "fitna" hence we read in the ziarat of last Imam (atf) "Al-Amn Al-aman min fitna tuz zaman" save us, save us from continuous corrupt schemes of the times..1 point -
Shaheed Musa Sadr And Libya

Nature punishes the foolish indeed. And the way guys like Saddam, Gaddafi, Mubarak, Arafat etc ended are further proofs that stupidity never pays off. Even if it pays you little in the short term, it will cost you way more than that in future. On the contrary, the right path, no matter how hard and tedious, would lead to a much better future. The Islamic Republic, despite all those sanctions and penalties and isolation, are doing far far better than Iraq, Egypt, or Libya.1 point -
Well, just because you believe these marriages are in the majority compromises rather than love, doesnt mean that love marriages do not exist.. In my culture, most people try to base their marriages on love, some base it on lust and i imagine some base it on compromise as well, but love i would say, definetely exists.1 point
