(salam) , A strong woman works out everyday to keep her body in shape, But a woman with strong iman prostrates in prayer to keep her soul in shape… A strong woman isn’t afraid of anything, But a woman with strong iman shows courage in the midst of fear… A strong woman won’t let anyone get the best of her, But a woman with strong iman gives the best of herself to everyone… A strong woman makes mistakes and avoids making the same in the future, But a woman with strong iman realises life’s ‘mistakes’ can also be Allah’s blessings and capitalises on them… A strong woman walks sure footedly… But a woman with strong iman has sabr (patience) when she falls… A strong woman wears the look of confidence on her face, But a woman with strong iman wears grace… A strong woman strives to look beautiful and perfect, But a woman with strong iman knows that she can possess nothing more attractive than the adornment of faith and the beauty of taqwa… A strong woman has faith knowing she is strong enough for the journey, But a woman with strong iman has faith that it is in the journey that she will become strong… May Allah guide us and help us to be the woman of strong iman, Ameen! :angel:6 points

There are those with turbans on their heads whose lives revolve around cursing the sahaba, tatbeer, and farhat-a-Zahra And then there are the 'ulama who are actually attempting to solve the numerous spiritual, social and political problems of the world through difficult, tiring, toilsome work and struggle. Al-quds Day Pakistan
The Persian Shah and 2 others reacted to Abbas. for a topic
Salams It does feel like we take our opposition to certain scholars personally and end up criticising everything they stand for. It is no doubt common sense to win away majority of muslims from the nutters. Al-Quds day is something which we should be proud of because collectively, we (shias) are presenting our stance to all muslims and the rest of the world;that is, we seek justice and wish to fight oppression in a legal and peaceful manner. No doubt we should also address other issues faced by our fellow shia muslims else where in the world. But if we're serious about addressing those issues as well, doesn't it make sense to unite under the same banner as that offered by our esteemed Scholars instead of unfairly criticising their current efforts? E.g I don't doubt that Qibla Khamenei's office will officially support the will and efforts of Pakistani shias who want to bring global awareness of their plight.3 points -

I find it curious that the people on these boards who want to split Shias from their religious leaders are also the ones who want to split Shias further away from Sunnis - all this in the guise of appealing to Shia chauvinism/patriotism! What will be the result? A fractured and broken Ummah fighting amongst ourselves - the easier to dominate and rule. So you really wonder about their motivations. Their standard defence is to make references to nasibis and takfiris. The point is that either Shias can become ever more insular, different to, antagonistic towards the average Sunni OR we can make common cause where possible to show that it is the Sunni extremists and other groups who are the threat to Muslims. This is commonsense. Countries (non-Muslim ones) around the world do this when facing extremist Sunni violence. Engage with mainstream Sunni groups, keep them on side - while marginalising the nutters. You can't do anything about the nutters, but you can try to ensure that others don't follow them.3 points -

9 Reasons Why I Don't Believe
Saviour and one other reacted to Shia_Debater for a topic
Reply to Category A Reason 1 Bringing someone into this world and knowing how they are going to die doesnt have anything to do with All-Loving. God may love us and still do something to us which we think is bad "...It is possible that ye dislike a thing which is good for you, and that ye love a thing which is bad for you. But God knoweth, and ye know not." Surah Baqarah 2:216 That child being raped and killed doesnt necessarily mean they were created for that purpose, they have been created for the same purpose as the rest of us "And I (Allah) created not the jinn and mankind except that they should worship Me (Alone)." Surah Az-Zaariyaat 51:56 Now yes this girl was killed, and then this does test the parents, but it doesnt mean the girl was killed to test the parents. Examples of house being burnt down, robbed, mugged etc. again doesnt only mean this being done as a test, it may be an expiation of your sins. To answer the question : God is all loving and Evil does exist, but without evil this life wouldnt be a test. Allah (swt) loves us so much and has made our creation the highest by allowing us to do both good and evil, because without evil we wouldnt be able to persevere to prove Allah (swt) our love for him. Reply to category A Reason 2 Allah (swt) didnt force the parasite to go and infect the boy, even if the world was exactly the same but without a God then wouldnt in your beliefs the same thing had happened? Just because bad stuff happen doesnt mean God is not all loving or all powerful. God can stop it from happening but chooses not to, does God love the child less by making him suffer? No. In fact that might be a reward for the child. Maybe he suffered at a young age and had a painful death, but this prevented him from growing older and having an even more painful death, I know you can say well God could have given him a non painful death Parasites may cause sufferings, but can you for 100% say that they do no good at all? Or that the good does not outweigh the bad of what they do? From your PhD you could say no, but what if humans still dont know about the benefits of parasites, many years ago people didnt know about the benefits of many things which now they do. I will post the rest of the reasons in a bit inshaAllah2 points -

Two points to make: First is that you misunderstand what is meant by unity. You must first understand this, before you can support or oppose it. Second is that you assume that you are in a position to think for yourself. Not everyone is in such a position. For example, on this website you have people calling irfan bidah, or calling wahdatul wujood shirk. Do they really know what these things are, to make such declarations? And yet we still their opinion must be seen as legitimate simply because they have an opinion? This is an unfortunate idea that has entered our heads. This is what leads emo kids to think they can "correct" the writings of, say, a Shahid Sadr. This is not intellectual freedom, sis. This is the freedom of the ignorant to defame the learned. If you want to have an opinion and your opinion to not just be based on personal inclinations and feelings, you must first attain the knowledge that preceeds it! This idea is applicable even to the most mundane and petty of things. Take this brother's post, for example: This brother, as the Iranian expression goes, is not on the farm (tu bagh nist). He doesn't have the slightest idea what I was talking about in the part of my message which he quoted. Did that stop him from opining? If I, Baradar Jackson, gets up and says so-and-so scholar is wrong on issue X, this is not a legitimate opinion, because I am speaking from a perspective of ignorance. This is not called "thinking for oneself" but rather letting ones nafs think for him. Trust me. I have daily contact with liberals and secularists. I know what "thinking for oneself" is. I know what lack of leadership is. Its not in the least bit progressive or useful. Imam Khomeini said that the Islamic Revolution was a revolution of one Islam against another Islam (emphasis is mine): "The people have risen against oppression, injustice, reaction, and regressive thinking. They have replaced royalist Islam, capitalist Islam, selective Islam -- in one term, American Islam -- with the ideology of pure Mohammadan Islam." Shia emo kids are just as much of a threat as Saddam and Mullah Omar.2 points -

Grand Ayatullah Sistani's [HA] statement on Palestine In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate "Those who disbelieve from among the children of Israel were cursed by the tongue of Dawood and Issa, son of Maryam. This was because they disobeyed and used to exceed the limit. They used not to forbid each other the hateful things (which) they did. Certainly evil was that which they did" (True are the words of Allah the Almighty - Holy Qur'an Surah 5: 78 & 79). Our brothers and sisters in the occupied lands of Palestine are facing an incessant Zionist onslaught, unparalleled in our times. Words cannot expose the dimensions of such barbarity that has affected the lives of the young and old alike. With an all-too-obvious blessing from the US, numerous methods of; killing, torture, terror, arbitrary arrests, violations of sacred places, deliberately starving the people and confiscating their property, destroying towns, refugee camps and houses and preventing even ambulances from attending to the wounded and taking the bodies of the martyrs for burial, are, unabatedly being perpetrated under the eyes of the whole world. When the enemies of Islam support the usurping aggressors, it is appropriate to expect Muslims to stand by their brothers in Palestine, consolidate their efforts and ranks to stop this aggression. The on going tragedy of the oppressed Palestinian people leaves all Muslims unable to enjoy any food or drink until they succeed in lifting the aggressors' brutal hands from their brothers and sisters. It has been narrated from the great Prophet (may Allah' s peace and blessings be upon him and his family) that he said: "Whoever wakes up in the morning and does not care about the affaires of Muslims, is not a Muslim and whoever hears a Muslim calling 'O Muslims' and does not heed his cries is not a Muslim also". We therefore call upon all Muslims to save the Palestinian people and respond to their profound cries of help by sparing no efforts or means at their disposal to deter the aggressors and regain their rights and recover Muslim lands from the clutches of the invaders. We ask Allah the Almighty to lead Muslims to righteousness and victory over their enemies. "..and victory is only from Allah, the Mighty, the Wise" (Holy Qur'an Surah 3: 126) Ali Al-Hussaini al-Sistani 26 Muharram 1423 (A.H)2 points -

(salam) Jacking everyone for the sake of attention? Really? I'm not suprised at the attempts you go to anymore, in all honesty. So what if I haven't seen the video? My stance on my post is still the same, with or with out Sayyed Kamal, and always has been. No one changes that. I firmly believe in the fact that religious unity is NOT possible between us two, and we shouldn't go to the extent of slaving their behinds for the sake of unity either. See what gets me baradaram, is that us shia know more on sunni articles of faith then of our own - and we wonder why were so disunited. And I didn't know agreeing with a certain individual meant conforming to all forms of their leadership and opinion - that's just illogical in itself. Who the hell am I? Isn't anyone on this site allowed to have, or FORM an opinion without being pro WF, pro Khamenei, pro the lot? Sorry, I didn't figure that it was your way or the high way. Does it rub more salt in your wounds that I've developed such an opinion? I know being a Southern Lebanese person and having this line of thought really cuts you up, but I'm not the only one. I think for myself and I always will. Stop being so close-minded for a second and open up. Not everyone who disagrees with you is a hot headed akhbari that hates every scholar to ever lay this earth, because I never said I did. I'm not akhbari either, if saying that eases your heart the slightest bit. I am on the right path. I try to please Allah (swt) as best as I can, I try to follow Ahlul Bayt (as), I try to follow everything as best as I can and to the best that my ability and limits allow me to do so. I might have 'deviated' according to you, or shall I say your 'religious criteria', but as far as I'm concerned I'm doing everything as a proper Shia muslimah and that's all that matters to me. Having an opinion about certain matters is only second in line. Ya Allah.2 points -

How To Kill Your Mother-in-law.
lover of Mola reacted to Senora for a topic
(salam) dear sisters, Read this beautiful story! Lin was a beautiful young Chinese woman who recently got married but, because neither she nor her husband had enough money to buy a house of their own, they had to live with her mother-in-law. After some time, she began butting heads with her mother-in-law and had a difficult time adapting to her. Their personalities were very different and Lin became increasingly irritated with her mother-in-law's customs and habits, which she constantly criticized. Over the months, things got so bad that life became unbearable. However, according to Chinese ancient traditions, a daughter-in-law must always be at her mother-in-law's service. Lin, unable to bear the idea of living with her mother-in-law any longer, decided to go see a master, an old friend of her father. After hearing the young woman, master Huang grabbed a bunch of herbs and said: "You shouldn't use all of these herbs at once to get rid of your mother-in-law because it may raise suspicions. You should mix them in with her food, little by little, day by day, this way she'll be slowly poisoned. To be sure that no one suspects anything when she dies, you should be very careful and always treat her with great kindness. Don't argue with her and always lend a hand with whatever she needs." Lin replied, "Thank you, master Huang, I will do everything you've said." Lin was thrilled and returned home enthusiastic about the plan to kill her mother-in-law. During several weeks, Lin served her mother-in-law a specially prepared meal every other day. She always kept in mind master Huang's advice to avoid suspicion: she controlled her temper, obeyed her mother-in-law and treated her as if she were her own mother. After six months, the whole family was transformed. Lin kept her temper under control and almost never got upset. Months passed, and she hadn't argued at all with her mother-in-law, who also seemed much kinder and easier to get along with. Her mother-in-law's attitude changed and they began treating each other like mother and daughter. One day, Lin went back to master Huang to ask him for help and said: "Master, please help save my mother-in-law from dying. She has become such a nice person and I love her as if she were my own mother. I don't want her to die because of the poison I've been giving her." Master Huang smiled and nodded, "Lin, don't worry. Your mother-in-law hasn't changed. You were the one who changed. The herbs I gave you were actually vitamins to improve her health. The poison was in your attitude and was replaced by the love and affection you began dedicating to her." Now, dear friends, prepare the herbs and begin the treatment with your mothers-in-law! :D1 point -

How Would You Feel If Your Wife Took Another Husba
DrMak reacted to Ya Aba 3abdillah for a topic
You could kinda of forsee what would happen socially if polyandrous relationships were permitted. For starters, she'd probably die early, cause she'll be likely popping out the kids at twice the rate (minimum) compared to non-polyandrous relationships. If she had 4 husbands, each husband would have to wait a minimum of 4 years before he can have another child. She'd have to do a lot more cooking too. She'd be pretty rich though, instead of 1 credit card, she'd have 4. However the guys wouldn't mind if only 1/4 of their CC is emptied as opposed to the whole CC. Actually sorry, even if there were 50 CC they'd still all be emptied. Each guy would only be able to be with her once every 40 days, cause of 'Iddah, so that might start making the husbands look at each other in funny ways. She'd also probably go into major depression after the first kid or two, and so you can forget about once every 40 days, it'll probably be more like once a year. That'd prompt the guys to be like, stuff this for the joke, and become mormon so he can practice polygyny with 10 women to make up for all those years of physical and mental torture. Oh and family trees will no longer be linear, they'll be more like family meshes. So back to the question, how would one feel? ... like something is really messed up by the situation.1 point -

asSalaam alaykum wa Rahmatullah InshaAllah (SWT) you and your family are well The first thing you should do is not worry, you will be safe if you rely on Allah ÓÈÍÇäå æÊÚÇáì. Then you need to control your desires. I know its very hard but its the only way. Pray to Allah (SWT) for His ÓÈÍÇäå æÊÚÇáìs help and be patient. Busy your mind with the remembrance of Allah (SWT) especially at times when your heart and mind even have a thought or feeling associated with this girl. Your mind is where you will win the battle - stop the thoughts and you will be safe. Fasting is very helpful it reduces the desires. If your desires are very high speak to your parents about getting married. I know this will take time, but Allah (SWT) will always help you. Try and have a thinkiing session every night where you monitor your progress and think of new ways to solve your problem. Know that if you succeed then you will not only have avoided a haram act but you will have built a kingdom of strength within your existence, you will have shown to al-Rahman that you are ready for more difficult challenges and He (SWT) will choose you to receive His ÓÈÍÇäå æÊÚÇáìs favours. From what I understand God creates the capacity for good and evil, truth and falsehood and them has them confront each other. God is all loving but God is also just. God gives life but God also takes life. Do you consider this unjust and against the principle of an all loving God as well? This would apply if worldly existence was the only existence. God rewards the little girl with eternal bliss and punishes the one who wronged her with eternal torment. Again this existence is not the end. “Abu ‘Abd Allah has said, ‘On the Day of Judgment Allah, the Majestic, the Glorious, will turn to the poor believing people, similar to an apologetic one, and will say, “I swear by My Majesty and Glory that I did not make you suffer poverty in the world, considering you insignificant. You will find out how I treat you today. Hold the hands of those who helped you in the worldly life and take them to paradise.” The narrator has said that the Imam then said, ‘A man from among them will say, ‘O Lord, people competed in their world to marry, dress up in fine garments, to have fine food, nice houses, and riding best animals, thus, give me what you had given to them.’ Allah, the Most Blessed, the Most High, will say, ‘You and every one of you will have what I had given to the people of the world from its beginning to its end, seventy times as much.’” Al-Kafi, Book of Belief and Disbelief, H 2379, CH 103, h 9 “I heard abu al-Hassan Musa, saying, ‘Allah, the Most Majestic, the Most Holy, says, “I have not made certain people rich because they are important to Me and I have not made certain people poor because they are insignificant to Me. It is because I wanted to try the rich through the poor. Had there been no poor, the rich ones would not have deserved paradise.’” Al-Kafi, Book of Belief and Disbelief, H 2390, CH 103, h 20 Existence is a test. Why does a rose need to have thorns? Why does their need to be pain and death? I'll quote An Essay on Man since its one of my favorite English poems Perhaps the baby deer will be given recompense for the pain he went through. Perhaps not, I dont know for certain. But it is our belief that God is just. So, verily, with every hardship, there is ease Verily, with every hardship there is ease. [surah Inshirah 94: 5-6] Unless you manage to successfully blow up the world and wipe out humanity, this argument is not valid Just because the Quran does not tell muslims the method of prayer does not mean the Quran is incomplete. It has whatever it was meant to have. The Quran instructs people obey the prophet (pbuh) and through the sunnah of the prophet (pbuh) people find the method of prayer. Your view of what is perfect and what is not is is too rigid. Actually the basic gap between monotheism and polytheism isnt that monotheism believes in a pantheon of one one God and polytheism believes in many. Even if you as a Greek worshiped Zeus to the exclusion others in the pantheon your difference with monotheism would be that you worshiped a god, while the monotheists worship the Godhead. And what is called Pascal's Wager actually much older than pascal. It should be called Ali Reza's Wager IMO “Once an atheist man came to Imam abu al-Hassan, while a group of people were in his presence. The Imam said to him, ‘Consider, if what you say is true, in fact is not true, in such case, we all will be equal. However, our fasting, prayers, giving charity and belief will not harm us.’ The man remained quiet. The Imam then said, ‘If what we say is true, in fact is true, then you will be the one facing your destruction and we will be saved.’ The man then said, ‘Please help me learn where is He and how is He?’ The Imam then said, ‘What is the matter with you? What you say is not right. He is the ‘Where’ of ‘Where’ but without ‘Where’. He is the ‘How’ of ‘How’ without ‘How’. He cannot be defined with ‘How’ and ‘Where’ and cannot be comprehended with the senses or compared with anything. “The man said, ‘He then is nothing; none of the senses comprehends Him.’ ’Abu al-Hassan, said, ‘That is not reasonable. Weakness of your senses and their inability to comprehend Him is not proof that He does not exist and that He is not the Lord. On the other hand, when we realize the weakness of our senses and their inability to comprehend Him it gives us certainty that He is our Lord and He is different from all things.’ “The man then said, ‘Tell me then when was He?’ The Imam replied, ‘You tell me when He was not there so that I will tell when He was there?’ The man then asked, ‘What is the proof for His existence?’ The Imam said, ‘When I look at my body I find that I cannot do any addition or alteration to it such as width and breadth or remove its sufferings and attract all its interests. I then come to understand that for this establishment there must be a founder and then I acknowledge His existence. Besides, I see all the orbiting planets and stars, the movements of the clouds and driving of the winds, the paths of the sun, the moon, the stars and other things like these marvelous clear signs I come to believe that there is One who has designed and created all such wonderful things.’” Al-Kafi,The Book on the Oneness of Allah, H 213, Ch. 1, h3 Ive said it once before, for people claiming to follow what is rational, atheists have a childish conception of God.1 point

People who are against this day hold the views that in the 1970s/80s/90s the Shias of Lebanon, Iraq and Iran were mercilessly butchered, kidnapped, tortured and killed by the Palestinians....so they say that we can not support those nasibis who would kill us if they had the chance. In addition, many people are angry as they say that our Shia brothers and sisters come before anyone else. The attention should be given to the persecuted Shias of Bahrain, Pakistan etc. With all that said, innocent is innocent and no one deserves to be killed. The Palestinians don't have good tactics. Hezbollah defeated Israel as they fought like true Shias. They didn't attack the civilians or bomb buildings. Hamas should learn a thing or two from them. The only reason why Al Quds day is so hyped up is due to Khomeini making this a day of remembrance.1 point -
Let me clarify. I am all for calling a spade a spade. Injustice is indeed injustice and Palestinian case is a strong example. For that matter, every honest individual on earth would in principle support Palestinian cause and condemn the Zionist entity. I do. I am not arguing to keep quiet. Rather, in the context of Pakistani Shias, it is a matter of prioritizing. We are being butchered regularly in Pakistan and our killers let lose, yet our biggest rallies are for Al-Quds day or for Iraq. It's like North Koreans protesting against the discrimination suffered by Gypsies in Europe. I'd rather see North Koreans sort their own mess. I reiterate the golden rule of sorting our own house before else. Pakistani Shias, and for that matter Sunnis etc, should offer moral support to the Palestinians, sure. Beyond that, every country would do what is in its interest, including Iran. The political line which would serve the interests of Syria or Iran may not be a good idea for the Pakistanis. Therefore, I believe that creating a local-based policy line by Pakistani Shias would serve us better than imitating .gov.ir. Although the biggest enemy of, and threat to, Pakistani Shias are Salafi brigades, their bank-rollers and local protectors, our scholars infatuated with .gov.ir lambast Amreeka and Israel (in a fit of ritual sloganeering) rather than taking on the real cause of their suffering. They lose their credibility and argument as soon as they start off with sending lanat on Amreeka when a group of nasibi murderers kills dozens of Shia in a juloos. I don't remember the name but after the last Ashura attack, the Shia aalim on TV did just that.1 point

[false] Sayyed Kamal Al Haydari Defends Abu Bakr
Shi3i4lyfYouTube reacted to baradar_jackson for a topic
You've all been jack'd! Sayyed Kamal is not defending Abu Bakr; he is criticizing him with a thunderous force! But not using the emo kid, curse-filled method that the hatemongers, bigots, and Shiahabis like to use; no no no. He uses the language of reason. This is why Sayyed Kamal is among the most brilliant servants of the ahlul bayt alive today, and it is why he -- not the foul-mouthed retardos whose ammamehs are made of socks -- is the future of Islamic scholarship. May Allah grant him long life and health so that we can continue to benefit from his brilliant teachings and may Allah allow us to acquire even one millionth of the knowledge he has. To all/one of you who jumped the gun and believed in the accusation against His Eminence Grand Ayatollah Sayyed Kamal al-Haydari (Ya Ali) without even bothering to watch the video, your intentions have been shown. Is your intention to uphold truth, if you are simply waiting for an opportunity to come and accept an accusation without proof? Some of you (I won't say who!!!) talks a lot of haq and batil. If you are so into haq, why did you not watch the video and weigh it against the accusation? Why were you so quick to believe it? Would our Imams whose names you always invoke, believe an accusation against someone willy nilly (much less, an accusation against a respected individual like Sayyed Kamal)??? Perhaps (and this is my analysis; maybe it is true, maybe it is untrue) it is because you are not, in fact, an upholder of truth, but rather an individual with a particular agenda, a particular bias, a particular (unwarranted) view, a particular jealousy, and a particular psychological disease, which forces you to wage a constant war against the most faithful, the most learned, and the most selfless of people who are today in our presence: our mujtahids. Indeed, it is by the grace of God that some people are always in their "scholar attack mode," waiting to pounce on an opportunity to defame those who serve God, and who serve the ummah (though it seems the latter doesn't really deserve this service). This tactlessness of the attack team is how average, mo'min, unassuming, innocent-minded Muslims can become aware of their plots and their intentions: when they attack mindlessly, they show themselves to be the exact opposite of "upholders of truth." Now, moving on... Watch what you say! This translation was done by a person from whose face emanates a wilayi noor which, if you saw it, it would blind your eyes and fill your heart and mind with the truth of the universe and the divine! Sister Blissful: I don't want to be mean to a girl. I find it to be an un-akhlaqi thing to do. But your recent... transformation, has left me no choice. Firstly (and this is the obvious point), you didn't watch the video. This means that when you said what you said, you were accepting the accusation against Sayyed Kamal without having even looked at the proof. What does this mean? This means you only believed the accusation, because it fits into this new anti-scholar lens which you have recently acquired (most certainly by impure influences on this website). Secondly, the issue of Shia-Sunni unity is not "nonsense." You may think its nonsense, because you are in a place where these issues are opaque and far-removed. Or for example, Muslims here in the US (where I am) may think this way. But in many parts of the world, this is not the case. In many parts of the world, the issue of sectarianism tears across the very fabric of society and ruins the lives of people. Today, in Syria, we are witness to this. Sectarianism is being used as a means to disunite people. You, as a Lebanese, should understand more than anyone the effects of sectarianism! The idea of Shia-Sunni unity (and Muslim-non Muslim unity), is not a "nonsense" idea. It is an idea meant to prevent violence and civil strife. Just because you are far-removed from these matters does not mean it does not affect people. People in Iraq, Lebanon, Baluchestan, etc... These people know what sectarianism means, and what it implies. So while you talk of "truth" and of avoiding "appeasement," others are paying the price of this misplaced bravado with their blood. This is Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah's view on this matter: Now you come along and say its nonsense. I'm sorry, but who the hell are you? Who asked you? The Sayyed -- whose every breath is a service to the ummah -- speaks out against sectarianism all the time, but no... you think you're above this. I wonder, if you would give your son; if you would give up your material comfort; if you would give up your security and allow that your life be under constant threat, to serve Muslims? I wonder if you have as much honor in you as the Sayyed has in one drop of his sweat? And yet, by the miracle of the internet, here you are calling one of the most basic ideas that he espouses, nonsense. Thirdly, and this is my sincere advice to you: be decisive. Don't be so wishy washy. Don't be in between one ideology and another; how can you claim to be on the side of truth when you are so indecisive? If you want to be in Imam Khomeini's line, then be in Imam Khomeini's line. But remember that this involves surrending all of your personal inclinations, and forming opinions on the condition that they conform with the opinions of the leadership. If you want to not be in the Imam's line, that's fine too. Go become Akhbari and study at the Zaveri hawzah. Or go join MDM and the Shirazis in waging jihad al-asghar on their own heads. Just be decisive about it. And remember, that if you choose the latter path, this is the fate that awaits you: The Islamic Revolution is like a tree that grows straight up. All the little branches that try to grow prominent, are cut off. Banisadr, MKO, Montazeri... they all had way more repute, way more of a following, and way more resources than you, or any other person today who has deviated from the revolution path. And they all failed. And you will fail as well, if you choose this path. And the same goes for all the other youth who are suffering from certain confusions and ideological uncertainties ("thanks" to the efforts by impure elements to corrupt their minds): do not think that it is cool and rebellious to tread this path. It will only bring you suffering, failure, and defeat. Ya Ali1 point -

If the shower is connected to a kur source, and the falling water is still connected with kur, then it is pak. Personally brother I prefer using a pipe. I'll be direct.. Since you have doubts that the back of your legs or thighs have gotten najis by the splashes, take off your pants/undergarments.. use a pipe to pour water on your body right from the point of your waist to your feet three times. It will only take like a minute when done with a pipe connected to a tap. And you will have no doubts anymore. I hope this method helps.1 point -

^ Thanks for the pictures -seeker-. Al-Quds being the symbol for all kinds of oppression going around? I was under the impression that the symbol for all kinds of oppression was Karbala and our annual commemoration of it? When did al-Quds appropriate this symbolism? The thing is, sorry if I am too impertinent, but Shia in Pakistan need to take a break from the press releases of www.leader.ir and need to take out similar rallies regularly to protest for their own plight, rather than for the Sunnis on the tip of the Mediterranean. But as usual, Pakistanis won't do what is required, and waste time in useless pursuits.1 point

Why Are We So Proud Of Our Ethnicity/culture?
Master Chief reacted to yassameen for a topic
Actually one of the most interesting questions so far in the forum i've looked up this issue from neuroscience perspective and psychology prospective , i was trying to find some studies that can explain some oranic basis for it maybe ,or some evolutionary explanation Is Islam against you being proud of your ethnicity ? i dont know , but certainly Islam dose not favor prejudiced nor discrimination based on ethnicity but also , Islam dose direct us to modify some organic based behaviors like anger hunger and sex , to get them into some sort of control or make them directed towards something i tend to think that being proud of your ethnicity is one of them , Islam did acknowledge it and directed it away from superior inferior complex into familiar non familiar complex O mankind! Lo! We have created you male and female, and have made you nations and tribes that ye may know one another. Lo! the noblest of you, in the sight of Allah, is the best in conduct. Lo! Allah is Knower, Aware but lets back to the question , why we feel proud ? there is an article and some ongoing study about implicit prejudice i find it interesting: Most recently, Banaji has been trying to discern when race attitudes first form and when conscious beliefs begin to diverge from those below the surface. In child-friendly tests, Banaji discovered that Japanese and white New England children as young as six both openly and implicitly preferred people like themselves. By age 10, their unconscious and conscious attitudes started to split. Despite expressing more egalitarian views as they grew older, people in the two societies continued to show automatic bias against black faces. For Japanese participants, both implicit and explicit attitudes toward European faces became more positive. Banaji now suspects that if she could test for prejudice in babies, she would find it. But that does not mean that we are born with bias. Certainly we have the mental machinery to generalize and rank across social categories, she says, but culture fills in the necessary information. And humans absorb ideas about racial status early. In a study of 234 Hispanic-Americans, for instance, children compared themselves favorably with African-Americans. But when they used the IAT to compare themselves with white children, the natural preference for their own group fell away. "This work suggests that what we value, what we think is good, is in the air," Banaji remarks. It might develop through things like the warnings that a parent conveys to a child, in a tightening grip on a little hand. As adults, we continue to observe our environment and unintentionally adapt the stereotypes we hold to match. http://www.scientificamerican.com/article.cfm?id=the-implicit-prejudice1 point -
Dome Of The Rock And The Shia
rotten_coconut reacted to Qa'im for a topic
Our position on the Dome of the Rock is a bit unclear. Our Imams (as) were asked about Bayt al-Maqdis in Jerusalem, which is not the same building as the Dome of the Rock. Bayt al-Maqdis ("the Holy House", Beit ha-Mikdash in Hebrew) is seen by the Sunnis and many lay Shi`as as "Masjid al-Aqsa" ("the Furthest Mosque") mentioned in the Qur'an. However, when asked about this, the Imams (as) said that al-Aqsa was actually a Masjid in the heavens (hence, the furthest), and that the Masjid of Kufa was superior to the Masjid in Jerusalem. With this new interpretation, is would mean that the verse in the Qur'an which says Muhammed (pbuh) was taken from the Ka`ba to al-Aqsa would mean he ascended to the heavens (mi`raj) from Mecca and not Jerusalem. If I recall correctly, some scholars did adopt the event of Isra from Sunni literature (the Prophet's trip to Jerusalem and other places), but I don't know if the story is reliably narrated in any of our own traditions. As for the status of Jerusalem, although it obviously had historical importance to previous prophets and served as Muhammad's (pbuh) first qibla, I think its significance ends there. I believe the Ummayyads had an interest in making Jerusalem more of a holy city and making its two mosques holy locations. Same with Damascus. The Umayyad's ruled from Shaam, which encompassed Jerusalem, and for a long time they did not control Mecca or Medina; and thus, I think they needed to hold onto a branch of spiritual legitimacy. Moreover, the story Isra provided legitimacy to Abu Bakr, as it is allegedly the event in which he gained his epithet "as-Siddiq" ("the believing friend"), which we deny and even al-Albani declared as weak. As for the Dome of the Rock historically, it is likely to be the ancient spot in which the Temple of Solomon lay. After it was destroyed in 70 CE, it was turned into a garbage dump by the Romans. After the Muslims conquered Jerusalem, Sunni tradition records `Umar ibn al-Khattab travelling to Jerusalem with Ka`b. Ka`b points to the spot that the Temple used to lay, and `Umar began clearing the dirt with his hands. The Umayyads later built Bayt al-Maqdis and the Dome of the Rock, saying that the Prophet (pbuh) prayed with all prophets at al-Maqdis and then ascended to heaven at the Dome of the Rock (the two are not far from each other). The existence of a dump however casts doubt on the story, because the Prophet would've prayed in a building that did not exist, and ascended to heaven from the dump. So I believe the story is revionary. And Allah knows best.1 point -

I am sure you must have come across plenty of shia muslims doubting your character so this is not something new. You said it was your research, well i went through your whole blog and all your research is about proving historical facts of shias wrong. Either their narrator or the mother of their Imam. As a shia why your research is not towards positive aspects of the teachings of Imams a.s . Why your research is not about science and Imams, Medicine and Imams, technology and Imams !!!!! Why your research is towards dividing shia islam!!!!!? JazakAllah1 point -

There is a difference in what is traditionally understood to be knowledge, and what Islam refers to when it speaks of knowledge. Traditionally (i.e., according to secular thought), if you believe something to be true, and you have good reason(s) for believing it is true, and it in fact is true, then you "know" that thing. For example, if you read up someone's telephone number in the phone directory, then you have gained knowledge that you did not have before. But in Islam such "knowledge" that is not related to understanding God is not really considered "true" knowledge. For example, we read in Lantern of the Path: Knowledge is the basis of every sublime state and the culmination of every high station. That is why the Holy Prophet (peace be upon him and his family) said, 'It is the duty of every Muslim, man and woman, to seek knowledge,' that is, the knowledge of precaution (taqwa) and certainty. Imam 'Ali (peace be upon him) said, "Seek knowledge, though it be in China,' meaning the knowledge of gnosis of the self, in it is contained knowledge of the Lord. http://www.rafed.net/english/books/narrati...esbah/02.html#8 In fact there are hadith that explicitly state that knowledge is NOT obtained through learning: áóíúÓó ÇáúÚöáúãõ ÈöÇáÊøóÚóáøõãö. ÅöäøóãóÇ åõæó äõæÑñ íóÞóÚõ Ýöí ÞóáúÈö ãóäú íõÑöíúÏõ Çááåõ ÊóÈóÇÑóßó æóÊóÚóÇáì Ãóä íóåúÏöíóåõ. ÝóÃöäú ÃóÑóÏúÊó ÇáúÚöáúãó ÝóÇØúáõÈú ÃóæøóáÇð Ýöíú äóÝúÓößó ÍóÞöíÞóÉó ÇáúÚõÈõæÏöíøóÉö. æóÇØúáõÈö ÇáúÚöáúãó ÈöÇÓúÊöÚúãóÇáöåö. æóÇÓúÊóÝúåöãö Çááåó íõÝúåöãúßó. “Knowledge is not acquired by learning. It is only a light which Allah (Blessed and High is He) penetrates in the heart of one whom He intends to guide. So, if you desire knowledge, then first seek in yourself the reality of servitude. Then seek knowledge for its application. Ask Allah for its understanding, He will make you understand it.” http://www.al-islam.org/salaat/12.htm1 point

What Is Knowledge/ilm?
Hameedeh reacted to NormaL_UseR for a topic
Salams, Well I am speaking from my own kind of undestanding, in that there are different organs for gaining knowledge - for example you see colours with your eyes, your brain processess and records the information. But how do you see for example, goodness, or if you like, the Divine, Allah (SWT) wants us to get closer to Him and to know Him - surely there must be a way or organ of knowing more about how to do that. And that organ is our soul, or heart - which orientates itself towards him. That is why someone may have a lot of theoretical knowledge and be very knowledgeable about science, arts, crafts, engineering - but their hearts maybe in a very sorry state because they have not looked after it and it has gained no knowledge - and therefore all those academic endevours have really come to nothing because he will not have achieved the role he was put on the earth for in the first place wsalams1 point
