  1. In addition, daswan or the tenth day of shahadat may not have much significance, otherwise why would the day of Arbaeen (the 40th day of Imam) would hold such a significance that ziarat on that became the sign of momin. Also since we are on the topic, I have quit paying attention to anything that is coming "Islamically" from Pakistan and India area. Due to ignorance and corrupted aqaid of Sub-Continent people, they are bringing in weird things in Shia Islam based on their defective zakir knowledge. (saying ali un wali ullah in tashud in salat, doing sajda to alam, over zealous in muharram and no knowledge of ahkam of deen are some of these example of deviant behavior). Shaitan is in over drive in Pakistan and India now a days. When i look back at these societies, I truly believe we are living in the times of "fitna" hence we read in the ziarat of last Imam (atf) "Al-Amn Al-aman min fitna tuz zaman" save us, save us from continuous corrupt schemes of the times..

  2. My heart goes out to you brother, remember me strong and STUBBURNLY remember Allah and smile and say.. I have faith in you Allah.. i Have trust in you. I was in the states, I lost my job, I started using up my savings, was not able to get a job.. So, i took a very ordinary job so i can pay my rent and bills for the mean time. slowly i lost my favorite red sports car to the bank. (it got repossessed). I had loved a very beautiful girl (in temperary marriage). She showed her true colors and changed after 4 years of relationship. when i had money and job, she would be very nice to me and loving, now when i had lost my job and ran out of money, she had started looking down upon me. She was not religious as well. I realized that she has started seeing another person who was rich. I went in to a shock and had started stopped eating.. lost 12 pounds.. after 3 months, i had started losing more and more hair.. I had started living on Ramen noodle costing me 25 cents in those days. no food to eat.. i realized i had been getting cornered and cornered.. then i started seeing a dream that my father is calling me and he is sick. So i had arranged some money and left the country.. When i left the country, My luck started changing, and i got a job, a very religious and good girl for marriage and i have a baby.. and all things came back. I realized that Allah tests us. We should never loose hope.. sometimes its just so much for the better. I am so glad these trials happened to me, because today i have something genuine , and good with me. but remember one thing brother, Be stubborn like sheikh Nasrullah against Isreal. you also be stubborn trusting Allah and keep on searching for work or even think about moving your location. Zanadine.

    How I Feel.

In circles mystic I found not The pleasantness I sought In monastery was not audible The music which love wrought In school I did not find to read Any book to be from the friend In minaret it was hard to find The voice to be of him to tend In love of books I could not see That veiled beautys face In sacred writs I could not get The destinations trace In idol-house my lifes span Was wholly spent in vain In rivals gathering I saw Neither remedy nor pain The lovers ring now must I join Haply to find for solace From the rose- garden of the beloved A pleasing breeze or a trace We and I are both from reason That are used as ropes to bind In mass of those who are drunk Neither I is nor We to find SOURCE

  4. (bismillah) (salam) Prophet Yunus AS did not disobey Allah. He was sent to guide a tribe to Islam and when they refused to follow him, Prophet Yunus AS left them without waiting for the order of Allah to abandon them. Allah tested Prophet Yunus AS by having him held captive inside the big fish and after a long time of praying, repenting and praising Allah, he was released onto the shore. Allah healed his sickness and Prophet Yunus AS again began his prophetic duty to guide people to Islam. Source: http://www.al-islam....h_reason/24.htm

    Ibid - What is it?

Salaam alaikum, Ibid is an abreviation for the word ibidem. It's so funny how many Salafi argue using Ibid as a source. Once this guy was arguing with me in one of those text chat rooms, that something was in our books. The conversation when something like this: Me: Which Shia book is that from? Him: Ibid Me: Ibid is the name of the book? Him: Yes, and it's a Shiite book. Me: You read this book yourself, or you found it quoted somewhere? Him: I have the book and read it myself! Me: Are you sure, maybe you found it quoted somewhere and are quoting that book. Him: No way, I am not a liar like Shiites, I read the book myself. I have it right here. Me: Really, do you know what Ibid means? Him: It's a Shiite word, I don't know all the Shiite words. Me: So Shias have their own language? Him: Yes they have code words so they can practice taqiyya and lie to other Muslims. Me: LOL ok you are the one lying and I can prove it. Him: I am not lying, it's in the book. You are trying to do taqiya to fool innocent Muslims. Me: There is no Shia book named Ibid. Ibid is the abreviation for the word Ibidem. It is used in books and articles when you are listing more than one quote from the same book. You quote the book and then you put ibid for the next quote, that tells you that the information is found in the same book as the previous quote. ( I then copied and pasted the dictionary definition of Ibid, and gave the website for the dictionary) So you are lying, you found this quote in a book about Shias not a Shia book. You do not have a Shia book named Ibid and you did not read it. You have no knowlege as to whether or not this is in a Shia book. Him: Me: Hello? Are you there?? Someone else: He has left the room. 8. in the name of Allah, the beneficient, the merciful. lanat on the enemies of the ahlebeyt. firstly, no im not a fitnah monger. im not a zionist spy. im not disrespecting and scholar and im not making a meaningless thread. this is a serious, critical discussion i want. the basis of this thread was this: political thought and legacy of ayatollah khomeini: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Political_tho...acy_of_Khomeini are the following points true or not: (1) ayatollah khomeini was about to get executed in jail (2) ayatollah shariatmadari (Allah bless his soul) went around and got loads of marjas signatures to make ayatollah khomeini a mujtahid cos mujtahids cant be put to death (3) the revolution happened, many scholars were instrumental in rallying support and spreading the word, but only ayatollah khomeini was recognised as the key player. (4) the pasdars were a bunch of goddamned gestapo harami zalims, torturing and killing people like crazy (5) ayatollah khomeini pushed this wilayat faqih muqtala thing, loads of scholars disagreed with him (6) one of the rights of the WF is to change the furu e deen astagfirullah. case in point - ayatollah khomeini stopped people going to hajj for a year, as though he has any right to do that. [p.135-6] [source: Hamid Algar, `Development of the Concept of velayat-i faqih since the Islamic Revolution in Iran,` paper presented at London Conference on wilayat al-faqih, in June, 1988] (7) marjas disagreed with this view. marjas included ayatollah shaheed shariatmadari, ayatollah shirazi, ayatollah montazeri and ayatollah rastegrari. (8) ayatollah shariatmadari was STRIPPED of his marja status, and tortured to death for opposing the WF. the man who saved ayatollah khomeinis life. from what ive heard, death must have been a sweet relief for him after what he endured at the hands of the pro WF police. may Allah rest his soul. (9) when ayatollah khamenei was sworn in (or whatever its called) he said something along the lines of the jurist doesnt have complete authority, and was critisised by ayatollah khomeini and apologised for it (10) why did ayatollah khomeini first say that the most knowledgeable man had to be WF, and then retract that statement later? if these 10 points are indeed true, then im sorry to say this, im heartbroken to say this, but the image we have of ayatollah khomeini is a lie. he is NOT the noble leader we all were taught.

    Freedom

If death is the price to pay, for the freedom we so very desire. Then demand it all today, And for our blood find us many a buyer. For it has been imprinted in our soul, that we shall not bow to any man. Our lives only Allah can control, not Gaddafi, Mubarak or Saddam. Rise up, oh people of Libya and Bahrain. Unite together as one, the rage we can never contain, until freedom is granted to everyone. Know that in every orphan's tears, and every widow's broken heart, exists consoling prayers, that a shahid's soul never departs. Hope you enjoy.

  11. Lets see where this goes. Brother the islamicforum is run by Haq Chaar Yaar organization. The people who run this organization, how they feel towards shia islam can be seen if you type in google " shia killings of parachinar". You think people whose stanch towards shia islam is as in that video will take what Walid will say!!!! This debate will end up no where and they shias will say "wah wah walid' and the yazidis will say ' wah wah Farid' . Knowledge of Rijal is not bad but it is not always proper and have many flaws because here were focus on humanly characters and their narrations. Allah s.w.t has given us intellect to use, now if i read 1% of muslims who are indeed followers of Yazid try to save his position and rest 99% have clear narrations that he was tyrant, then i wont waste my time over rijal sciences. Similarly if i read hadith that Prophet s.a.w tried to commit suicide or if Umar was better than Prophet s.a.w, i wont waste my time again over rijal sciences. When we analyse any statement, the first think to look is what is being said and not who is saying it. Means the hadith mutn is most important to understand. Rijal is the last resort and the amount of narrations shias take and refute does not need rijal sciences at all. Some people above want to learn something out of this debate. For them my answer is , religion is not learnt from discussions going on in the toilet (islamicforum) in fact, the knowledge seekers bury themselves in books for most of their life and then reach somewhere. Another hint why islam cannot be run by these internet forum's of such people, there is not one thread but many in which the id is created by some wahabi as a shia and then they debate among themselves and in the hand the shia Id (wahabi undercover) accepts that he was wrong. This is all fraud. jazakAllah

  12. I really don't think it's effective, and really won't teach/influence anyone. I think it would actually make it lame, if that's your main theme. You should have another goal, and I also think making Islam true with vampires doesn't make sense.

  13. Im not sure who youre talking about, but several trips have been made to the moon by the US, apollo 13 had a malfunction and blew up, however the other 6 missions made it. (apollo 11, 12, 14, 15, and 16? oh and 17). Realistically though, there is no need to send people up there, we can just send robots. Theyre a lot cheaper, and safer. And, most countries, now n days i would say, if they had the funds, could get to the moon if they willed. Now that countries have international space stations and robots landing on mars and satellites orbiting jupiter. Our neighbor the moon is a bit less important.

  14. Well, not celebrating the 14th of August is actually a kind of very mild protest. It's the same as not voting in elections, what I do. Guess what, both these actions / protests are actually useless and have no effect at all at anyone else or this country or the system. Similarly, celebrating it or voting have no effect in truth. Its about your own self whether you want to be depressed and touchy over something or not. As for the other argument, people born abroad / living abroad since more than a decade are in reality foreign nationals who will never live in Pakistan again. Thats not meant to upset you, its a fact. I had job offers from abroad and I can jump the ship myself, but I don't want to. I'm sticking it out over here. I have a way to live freely and have my own freedom. I don't care if the entire country slides into hell itself but I'm willing to help others near me and I do help them. You see, the internationally enforced system has all the people of this planet enslaved in invisible chains and their politicians are puppets of NWO. Day by day, "protests" are becoming weaker and weaker. Soon everyone will be suffering equally and will be equally powerless.

  16. (bismillah) (wasalam) It's unfortunate that a community worker, as Agha Shaukat Jafri is described, cannot find a way to get along with other Shia groups in other cities. The five men he mentioned in his essay are involved with their own communities to bring people closer to Islam. I'm not sure what his agenda is, but undoubtedly he is trying to influence Muslims to stay away from these Sheikhs, by comparing them with violent Wahabis and using such words as gory, harm, poison, fitna, masquerading, deceptive, divisive, serious threat, etc. Mr. Jafri's lament about some women in their conference not wearing hijab is a nonissue. Maybe they were nonMuslim guests who were interested to learn about Islam. He would prefer to have the conference in a mosque so women would be forced to wear hijab. Yes, that would work, but having a conference in a mosque would not accommodate the participants. Men and their wives (and children) can't just sleep on the floor of the mosque. They need a private hotel room with a bed(s) and a shower. Agha Shaukat Jafri's complaint that some people spread documents, such as the one called Zionist Spy, is ludicrous. The spreading of documents is what people do. Everyone needs to know what is going on in our world. Even if nobody wants to take any action or write a rebuttal, at least people need to be informed. His comment about that document is that it is "false and fictitious, and riddled with half truths, innuendos and insinuations." One could say the same thing about his essay.

  17. (bismillah) (salam) Fighting Selfish Desires to Attain Perfection One must first recognize and abandon all his selfish desires before he can attain human perfection. This has been quoted by Majashe on the authority of the Noble Prophet of Islam who was the first perfect man ever. It is recorded in Ghawali al-La`ali that a man called Majashe went to see the Prophet (MGB), asked him the following questions, and got the following replies: Question: “O’ Prophet of God! What is the way of recognition of God?” Answer: “Recognition of the self.” Question: “What is the way to agree with God?” Answer: “To disagree with the self.” Question: “What is the way to please God?” Answer: “To raise the wrath of the self.” Question: “What is the way to approach God?” Answer: “To abandon the desires of the self.” Question: “What is the way to obey God?” Answer: “To disobey the wants of the self.” Question: “What is the way to remember God?” Answer: “To fight the self.” Question: “What is the way to get closer to God?” Answer: “To stay away from the self.” Question: “What is the way to get accustomed to God?” Answer: “To fear the self” Question: “What is the way to attain all this?” Answer: “Seeking God’s help against one’s self.” (wasa'il al-shi'ah, v.2, p.270) If one practices what the Prophet (MGB) has instructed us to do in this tradition, then he can attain true mysticism. Man can only attain inner peace and illumination if he abandons wicked traits and adorns himself with perfection. He should first abandon all his wickedness, and then he should adorn himself with perfections. Finally, man should polish the beauties of his self, refine them, and make them transparent. (salam)

15 August, 2011 GALLOWAY STATEMENT ON SYRIA Filed under: Syria, Galloway — admin @ 8:05 am The news this morning that the Syrian navy were shelling the water-front of Latakia - including the Palestinian refugee camp there - shook me to the core. Not just because I lived in that camp last year, on that water-front, when the then dictatorship of Hosni Mubarak was stalling about letting the Viva Palestina 5 convoy sail for Gaza (after more than a fortnight of Syrian hospitality the convoy sailed though I was banned). The people of Latakia, a beautiful seaside holiday resort, were good to me. I cannot be silent about their suffering now. More importantly the news was shocking insofar as it calibrated how close we now are to a full-scale civil war in “the last Arab country” as I described Syria in a speech in the Assad library five years ago, just after the Israeli attack on Lebanon was repulsed by the Syrian backed resistance led by Hezbollah. Historically, I was never close to the Syrian regime, I’m writing this from my house which I called Tal-al-Zattar after the Palestinian refugee camp in Lebanon which suffered a massacre facilitated by another Assad more than thirty years ago and carried out by his then Phalangist allies. I was with Yasser Arafat in his long struggle to keep the PLO free from the dead hand of the Syrian Ba’ath Party. I stood with Iraq when 29 countries tried to destroy it in the first Iraq war in 1991. One of those countries was Assad’s Syria. But in the land of the blind, the one-eyed man is king and by 2006 Bashar al Assad was the last Arab leader standing. Syria was hated I said that night in the library not because of the bad things it has done but because of the good. I adumbrated them thus. Syria has refused to sign a surrender peace with Israel, refused to abandon its territory on the Golan to the illegal occupiers. Syria has refused to abandon the Palestinian resistance, continuing to give safe haven for the leaders, and fighters, of virtually the whole gamut of resistance organisations. Syria has insisted on supporting the Lebanese resistance, has refused to allow its territory to be used as a base against the resistance in Iraq and so forth. It was all true of course but it was not the whole truth. The dark side of the Syrian regime, its authoritarian character, its police state mentality above all its deep-seated corruption fantastically exacerbated by the regimes neo-liberal turn with its attendant privatisations, substituting state property for private ownership by the regime’s comprador, by and large. This was another part of the truth though partly concealed by the Arab nationalist anti-Imperialist character of the Syrian people and their government. This has been the lived experience of most Syrians for over forty years. That’s a lot of darkness. It was possible to judge Syria by the nature of its enemies - Israel, US, British and French imperialism, the Arab reactionaries, the Salafist sectarian fanatics - for as long as the Syrian people remained either supported or were largely quiescent behind the regime even if only for fear of something worse. And as long as the President, Bashar al -Assad, held out hope for real reform towards democracy open government and an end to rampant corruption, much of it concentrated around his own family and close cronies. That hope now dangles by a thread. To describe the mass uprising in Syria, day after day for months and undaunted by the steadily rising price in blood being paid by the protestors, as the actions of “terrorists” and “gunmen” is a gross distortion. In fact the regime itself looks more and more like the terrorist, certainly the gunmen, in this picture. This is a genuine popular uprising taking place in Syria even if it is heavily infiltrated by all of Syria’s enemies - the enemies of all the Arabs in my view. The biggest problem is that the longer fighting on this scale continues on the greater the scope for these enemies to engineer an outcome favourable to them. An outcome which takes Syria out of the traditional national camp and into the camp of collapse, surrender, sectarianism and indignity. That’s why I must say it looks like five minutes to midnight in Syria for me. For years the President has talked of reform. But the more he talked the faster his relatives counted their ill-gotten gains. He has talked about the lifting of states of emergency whilst presiding (one assumes he’s still presiding) over the mother of all emergencies in his country. He has talked about ending the Ba’ath’s constitutional monopoly as the “leading force” in the country but it still exists, at least on paper if not on the streets. He has talked about elections but of those there is no sign and how could there be amidst the carnage? The risk of open imperialist intervention in this situation increases almost by the hour. The enemies of the Palestinians and all the Arabs are rattling their sabres. The Syrian people, always the heart of Arab nationalism cry out in their slogans even as they are shot down against any such foreign interventions, but the vultures circle nonetheless. Such a fate for the great Syria, must be avoided at all costs. At all costs. Unless the Syrian regime can conclude an urgent agreement to proceed to elections, a free media, legal political opposition and an end to what has now become a massacre, the state is going to be invaded or is going to collapse under the weight of the bloodshed. And amidst the ruins of that, the rats of reaction, sectarian hatred and treason will certainly run free. George Galloway statement on Syria. http://www.socialistunity.com/?p=8420

  21. Here's part of this report: The U.S. Department of Defense has released translations of a number of Iraqi intelligence documents dating from Saddam’s rule. One, a General Military Intelligence Directorate report from September 2002, entitled “The Emergence of Wahhabism and its Historical Roots”, shows the Iraqi government was aware of the nefarious purposes of the Wahhabis of Saudi Arabia, often known as Salafis, in serving Western interests to undermine Islam. The report relies heavily on the Memoirs of Mr. Hempher, which describe in detail how a British spy to the Middle East, in the middle of the eighteenth century, made contact with Adbul Wahhab, to create a subversive version of Islam, the notorious sect of Wahhabism, which became the founding cult of the Saudi regime. The movement was temporarily suppressed by the Ottomam armies in the middle of the nineteenth century. But with the assistance of the British, the Wahhabis and their Saudi sponsors returned to power and founded their own state in 1932. Since then, the Saudis have collaborated closely with the Americans, to whom they owe their tremendous oil wealth, in funding various Islamic fundamentalist organizations and other American covert operations, particularly the "jihad" in Afghanistan. But the Saudis simulatenously use the immense wealth at their dispossal to disseminate this disruptive brand of Islam to various parts of the world, categorized by some of the largest propaganda campaign in history. Many who defend Wahhabism as a legitimate reform movement of Islam have tried to dismiss the Memoirs as a spurious fabrication. These include Bernard Haykel, Professor in Near Eastern Studies at Princeton University, who, without providing any evidence, presumes the Memoirs to have been created by Ayyub Sabri Pasha. However, while the Memoirs only emerged in the 1970s, Pasha wrote his version of the story already in 1888. Ayyub Sabri Pasha was a well-known Ottoman writer and Turkish naval admiral, who served the Ottoman army in the Arabian Pensinsula, writing several works about the region and it's history. Including The Beginning and Spreading of Wahhabism, where he recounts Abdul Wahhab's association and plotting with Hempher. In addition to that revealed in the Hempher Memoirs, the Iraqi intelligence report also makes known some surprising claims, derived from works circulated in Arabic which have not been translated into English. As the report recounts, both Abdul Wahhab, and his sponsor, ibn Saud, who founded the Saudi dynasty, were of Jewish origin. For example, D. Mustafa Turan wrote, in The Donmeh Jews, that Muhammad ibn Abdul Wahhab was a descendant of a family of Donmeh Jews from Turkey. The Donmeh were descendants of followers of the infamous false-messiah of Judaism, Shabbetai Zevi, who shocked the Jewish world in 1666 by converting to Islam. Viewing it as a sacred mystery, Zevi's followers imitated his conversion to Islam, though secretly keeping to their Kabbalistic doctrines. In Europe, the Shabbeteans were eventually led a century later by Jacob Frank, claiming to be a reincarnation of Zevi. And, according to Rabbi Antelman in To Eliminate the Opiate, to them belonged the Rothschilds who had a hand in the founding of the Bavarian Illuminati. The Donmeh community of Turkey were concentrated in the city of Salonika, which became a hotbed of Masonic activity, and from which the Young Turk movement evolved, which aided in the collapse of the Muslim empire of the Ottoman Turks. There is evidence that Ataturk himself, the founder of the modern Turkish state, was of Donmeh origin as well. Turan maintains that Abdul Wahhab's grandfather, Sulayman was actually Shulman, having belonged to the Jewish community of Bursa in Turkey. From there he settled in Damascus, where he feigned Islam, but was apparently expelled for practicing sorcery. He then fled to Egypt and he again faced condemnation, so made his way he to the Hijaz, where he got married and fathered Abdul Wahhab. According to the report, the same is claimed in The Donmeh Jews and the Origin of the Saudi Wahabis, Rifat Salim Kabar. The notion of the Saudi family being of Jewish heritage has been published by Mohammad Sakher, who, it is claimed, was ordered killed by the regime for his revelations. The report relates a similar account, but from different sources. According The Wahabi Movement/The Truth and Roots, by Abdul Wahhab Ibrahim Al-Shammari, for example, ibn Saud is actually descended from Mordechai bin Ibrahim bin Mushi, a Jewish merchant from Basra. Apparently, when he was approached by members from the Arabian tribe of Aniza, then claimed to be one of them, and traveled with them to Najd and his name became Markhan bin Ibrahim bin Musa. Additionally, Abdul Wahhab was descended from Wahib Al-Tamimi, so, as reported by al Said Nasir, in The History of the Saud Family, the Saudi ambassador in Cairo, Abdullah bin Ibrahim al Mufaddal, paid Muhammad Al-Tamimi thirty five thousand Jinee in the year 1943, to forge a family tree of the Saudi family and that of Abdul Wahhab, and merge them into one, claiming their origin from the Prophet Mohammed. While it would be difficult to independantly authenticate these claims, they are interesting in light of the role that the state of Saudi Arabia has and continues to play with regards to supporting and advancing Western power in the Middle East and elsewhere. Especially astounding is the very dubious and virulent form of Islam, that Wahhabism and Salafism represent, which is currently wrecking havoc on Islamic traditions, and dividing the Muslim community in petty squabbles over trivial details, allowing the War on Islam to proceed effectively unchecked. By David Livingstone taken from Kayhan International daily.

  22. I think the debate is good and through it one can analyze the fact through a basic level. The shia sunni differences are mainly grounded in the documented narrations. The same narrations are quoted in the exegesis of Quran as well by each side to prove their claim. If any of two participants proved their point , it would show gross errors and loopholes in the narration system of the school of the opposite. The debate is of a very scholarly level and its good that they picked on the core narrators. I can not research the Hadith sciences due to my lack of knowledge of Arabic and the basics of Hadith sciences so i will make my mind in the light of the result of this debate about the Hadiths of the two schools.

  23. Salam Alaykum :) Everything happens for a reason. Sometimes throughout the difficulties you are facing, its hard to truly believe that. But Allah (swt) really does work in mysterious ways. Ways which we cannot comprehend. Keep your faith strong during this test, thats the only thing that will get you through it. Keep praying, keep asking for forgiveness. Allah (swt) is The Forgiver, The Most Merciful, turn to Him (swt) and He (swt) won't let you down. Say Alhamdulilah that you're not in a worse position. Be patient. InshAllah things get better for you. In the Quran, Allah (swt) says; "I respond to the invocation of the supplicant when he calls upon Me. So let them respond to Me [by obedience] and believe in Me that they may be [rightly] guided".- Surah Al Baqarah (2:186) "And your Lord says, "Call upon Me; I will respond to you"." –Surah Ghafir (40:60)

The Tahajjud Prayer (Namaz-e-Shab) ranks first and foremost in importance among all other optional (Sunnat) prayers. Tahajjud means to abandon sleep so as to pray Salat. The Qur’an refers to it in Surah 17:79 and says, “And (during part) of the night, abandon sleep and keep vigil to pray Salat, in addition to the regular obligatory prayer. Your Rabb (the Sustainer) may (as a reward) elevate you to the position of High Distinction, Glory and Praise.” The Prophet (saww) said, “I will be at “Maqam-e-Mahmuda” on the Day of Resurrection when I will seek forgiveness for the sinners from the Rabb (the Sustainer) who does what He wills.” The verse quoted above which prescribes Salatul-Layl has been placed immediately next to the verse (17:78) which prescribes the regular daily obligatory Salat. Therefore, it underscores the great importance of Salatul-Layl. Although optional, Tahajjud is considered “nearest to obligatory (Wajib) prayer.” MERITS AND BENEFITS OF PRAYING NAMAZ-E-SHAB By praying Salatul-Layl one’s livelihood is increased, one passes easily through “Sakaraat” (great and gruelling pain a dying person suffers at the time of death) and finds happiness in “Barzakh” (the Spiritual world where the departed souls stay either in happiness or misery, until the Day of Resurrection). Imam Jaffar Sadiq (a.s.) quotes Imam Ali (as) as saying that the Prophet (saww) said that a person who prays Salatul-Layl gets the following twenty four kinds of benefits: Secures Allah’s pleasure. Makes friendship with Angels. Is the Sunnat of the Prophets (a.s.) Provides the means to pursue knowledge. Constitutes the root of our faith. Keeps one physically fit. Drives Shaytan away. Protects one from enemies. Serves as a means of acceptance of one’s Duas and good deeds. Increases one’s livelihood. Intercedes with the Angel of Death. Lights up the grave. Provides comfortable bedding in the grave. Helps answering with ease the questioning of Munkar and Nakir in the grave. Gives companionship in the grave. Provides shelter on the Day of Judgment. Crowns one on the Day of Reckoning. Clothes one on the Day of Resurrection. Provides one with light on the Day of Judgment. Forms a barrier against the fire of Hell. Gets Allah’s pardon on the Day of Judgment. Increases the weight of good deeds on the scale. Helps one crossing the Bridge of “Siraat” without any difficulty. Forms the key to the Paradise. TIME The time for praying Salatul-Layl is from midnight (midnight is reckoned as the time which is exactly half the time between sunset and the actual dawn) to the time of Adhan for Fajr prayers. However, it can be prayed at anytime after Isha prayers but it is better to pray during the last part of the night near to the time of Fajr prayers. If it is not possible to pray after midnight or before Fajr, then it can be prayed in the morning or any part of the day with the niyyah (intention) of Qadha. It is better to pray with the niyyah of Qadha during the day time than to pray in the early part of the night. Note: According to Ayatullah Seestani, the time for Salatul-Layl is from midnight to the Adhan time for Fajr prayers. However, it is better to pray near the time of Fajr prayers. Anyone who finds it difficult to pray Salatul-Layl after midnight can pray before midnight. Salatul-Layl is made up of eleven Rak’ats. Ø The first eight Rak’ats are prayed as normal in pairs of two Rak’ats each with the niyyah of Nawafilatul-Layl. Ø The next two Rak’ats are prayed with the Niyyah of Salatul Shaf’a. Ø The remaining one Rak’at is prayed with the Niyyah of Salatul Witr. In this last one Rak’at, Qunoot is recited before Rukuu and the Salat is completed as usual with Tashahud and Salaam. While advising Imam ‘Ali (a.s.), the Prophet repeated three times, “’Alayka Bis-Salatil-Layl” which means, “incumbent upon you (O! Ali) is Salatul Layl.” This Hadith underscores further the importance of Salatul-Layl. Therefore, we should try never to miss it.

  27. (bismillah): 3 of the many reasons why Abu Talib (as) could not have been a disbeliever. Fatimah Bint Asad (as) was the wife of Abu Talib (as), also the mother of Ameer al mu2mineen - Ali bin abi talib (as). Both schools of thought agree she was a believing woman. The laws of Islam in terms of a believer marrying a disbeliever is widely known as the marriage will be batil (invalid) even if the male or female spouse is the only disbeliever between the 2. Now let's analyse shall we, in Islam, a muslim male can only marry a muslim, christian or jewish woman, but not a disbelieving woman, for the muslim female, the man she marries has to be muslim or else the marriage is invalid, he cannot be christian or jewish like the woman can be in a valid marriage. So this brings us to the clear conclusion of: 1. Abu Talib's wife: Fatimah Bint Asad is known to be a believing woman, proof: she was circumbulating the ka'ba while pregnant with Ali a.s, then later gave birth to him inside the ka'ba, only believers circumbulate the ka'ba. So it is a 100% false accusation that Abu Talib (as), was a disbeliever, otherwise Fatimah bint asad wouldn't have married him, a believing woman will never marry a disbelieving man. 2. Sunni's say Abu Talib a.s couldn't have believed because there were no believers before the prophet (pbuh) started his mission. The true answer is: There were already some believers in One God before Mohammed (pbuh) started his mission, if you deny this then you are denying the fact that the previous prophets who came before the last were muslims and preached that there is One God, having nations that followed them. 3. IF Abu Talib a.s was a "disbeliever", that would also mean that Ali bin abi talib (as) was begotten from an invalid marriage in Islam, thus meaning him being a child of fornication, this is nonsence, are you insane? - silly question, of couse you are. Salawat Ala Mohammed Wa Alle Mohammed.

  28. A shocking waste of time! How does this "debate" address the 'Aqeedah and rituals of Islaam, that have now been eaten away by Bid'ah viruses. Anyways, traditionally, rijaal is a confused, self-contradictory science, and "scholars" have always differed on the authenticity or otherwise of narrators. No matter where you land in rijaal, you are still on the wrong track!

  31. No it was the sunnah of Muawiyah lanatullah and i am trying to use his weapon on his disciple. (sarcastic answer) It is sunnah of not only Imam Ali a.s but since the earth was made till the day of judgement sunnah of all people with knowledge and brain to judge them from their leaders, behaviour, previous encounters etc etc and then pass the doubt. Not out of blue just like this.

  32. I don't see much difference in what both of you are saying. Abu Balj was Saduq (truthful, but doesn't reach status of Thiqah) according to Al-Albani. Narrations of a saduq narrator revolve between sahih, hasan and weak. Basically, ilm rijal doesn't work like mathematics, as some may try to make it as such. So narration of a saduq narrator doesn't necessarily become hasan, although in most cases the result may come as hasan.

It is the disease that was spread by your namesake which started giving fatwas of kufr left, right and centre. So don't you dare claim to represent all Sunnis. And which idol was called "Munaf" and what are your sources?

  34. You're not the only one on here to play up the 'strength' of the Syrian military with all its thousands of missiles. What has this military done about the Golan Heights? What has it been waiting for? President Gul is visiting Saudi at the moment. A Turkish military intervention backed by Saudi money will easily deal with a military not able to attempt to win back the Golan heights. The only good the Syrian military is for is fighting and subduing its own people.

  35. Assalaamalaikum wr wb It may seem strange to some people - this topic in this forum. But isn't he a person to be remembered when we talk about any Islamic revolution.Because he was the one who brought about an Islamic revolution in the early days of Islam. He took revenge for the events of Karbala and the tragedy after it. To bring about a successful revolution it is important to learn from those who have been successfull in previous revolutions. To learn from them we need to highlight their good character and other qualities which were of great importance for a successfull revolution. Hazrat Mokhtar Saqafi (r.a) was a disciplined man.He was noble in character. He was charitable. He said his prayers regularly. He fasted. He did sabr.He spent benevolently for the cause of Islam. He loved his family but never restrained from Jihad because of them.He worked hard to earn a living. He was very intelligent, well dressed and a smart looking man. Well he once joked with his wife saying an ugly, old looking, dirty and diseased man cannot bring about a revolution.Obviously he took bath every day, wore clean clothes, his house was always clean like a Masjid. He did spent money to keep a few servants. He never scolded his wives about housework and employed male and female slaves to help them. We all need to learn from this great man .We need to imitate him first in his qualities ,then in any revolution we start. This revolution can be on a national basis or local-only in your city,or only your neighbourhood, your own family, may be just your own self depending on the strength and need of the hour.We need to pay attention to the education, health, financial condition, fulfilling necessary day to day requirements, the Islamic attitude towards life when we want a change for the better. When we need a revolution,a reform,we need to be like Hazrat Mokthar(r.a) not just in fighting ,but in his true essence of being a righteous, pious, religious and an ambitious man. We need to be sacrificing as Hazrat Mokhtar(a.s)(r.a). Remember the day he fought with only a few friends with him.It was 14th Ramzan,a day of fasting. He sacrificed his life in a fast.He was hit with sharp swords and arrows were shot at him.His horse was killed. He had to fight on feet.He fought bravely for a long time and breathed his last his head resting at the Mimber of Moula Ali(a.s) in kufa Mosque. May Allah's curse be on the enemies of Hazrat Mokhtar Saqafi.

  42. This just annoys me that people wouldn't consider a woman who has been married before....temporary or permanent. I live in an area heavily populated with Shia and quite a few men marry American girls who have had kids out of wedlock!!!!! but if they have a nice Shia girl who has been married before right under their nose they look at her as if she is trash. I hate to say but even my own husband is a hypocrite.........quite a few people in his family have married European women and some of them are divorced and no one says anything about it, but when my brother in law wanted to marry a girl of the same nationality and religion the entire family put up a big stink because there was speculation that she "might not be a virgin" :shaytan:

Try shiamatch.com and shiaspouse.com. But forget about this person and get over it. Do not waste your life. Besides there is none who is soul mate. Each one of us are different and unique. If you think he was your soul mate, he must have been a "talker" and would be agreeing with everything you would be saying. That's how human mind interprets a soul mate. I've seen many marriages fail or turned into love-less marriages because one or the other spouse has invested a whole lot emotionally into someone else who they could not marry later. For all brother and specially sisters, keep your love and romantic emotions concealed and protected in your heart like a beautiful flower if exposed to sun would dry out. In other words shut your heart out. Then open it all to your spouse after marriage. Also read the meaning of the "nikah khutba". It is a dua' and a very strange one as this is one of the dua's which get accepted right then and there. Ever wonder how when two seemingly strange people marry, for at least first few months of their lives, they become "THE MOST" important persons for each other. And if they build on it, they remain that way. Make it your motto and repeat it everyday - love after marriage, love after marriage, love after marriage, love after marriage.... Everything and anything before marriage is LUST and SIN.

Life is like a book with many pages and chapters...some tell of tragedy, others of triumph. Some are dull and ordinary, others intense an exciting. The key to success in life is NEVER stop on a difficult page, NEVER quit on a tough chapter...for Allah (swt) says in the Quran, "After every hardship i give u ease...". So have the courage to keep turning the pages because a better chapter lies ahead and trust that with Allah (swt) nothing is impossible...

  46. See, that wasn't too hard now was it? wa iyyakum. Who ever brainwashed you concentrated 100% on the cursing of the world part, and not enough on the propagating peace part. Hatred and cursing have a balance, if you break the balance, the consequences are devastating. You should break the cycle of hatred. The Ahlul Bayt (as) died trying to break the cycle of hatred. Rasoul (pbuh) was brought as a rahma (mercy) to humanity, not with a "let's all curse each other and spread hatred" philosophy. If we don't extinguish the fire, the world will burn and Satan would have achieved his goal of having the children of Adam in hell in this world and the next.

    Happiness

Shia Muslims are often accused of mourning constantly, making sadness a part of their religious gatherings. Our Majaalis usually remember the tragedy of Karbala and mourn for the holy family. Happy occasions are less frequent and don’t seem to have too festive a spirit. It is as though sadness and grief are a part of being religious and close to God. Does God frown upon happiness? Should believers shun happiness in this world, expecting it only in the world to come? In fact, Islam encourages happiness. That is the function of the laws of Islam, to create happiness for human beings both in this world and the next. God wants us to be happy, albeit a happiness that may differ from our understanding of happiness. The happiness that God desires for us is a deep sense of satisfaction, an exultant feeling that transcends beyond the realms of this world. It comes from fully realizing the human potential within us. Imam Ali (a) says: The root of intelligence is discipline and its fruit is happiness. In his book Gham wa Shadi dar Islam (Grief and Happiness in Islam), the author Mahmood Akbari, writes that for most human beings, being happy is the norm while unhappiness is created by outside factors. He points out that a lot of things in Nature bring happiness to the human heart. Greenery, colorful flowers, mountains, soft rain, sound of birds . . . etc. all create a sense of peace and tranquility. God intended that the human being be happy in his surroundings, in the family and social system He created for him, and in the work He set out for him in this world. To seek happiness and carry out activities that bring pleasure are encouraged in Islam. Imam Ali (a) says: For a believer there are three hours; an hour in which he talks to his Lord, an hour in which he carries out affairs of this world, and an hour for pleasures that are lawful and good . It is narrated that Marhum Ayatullah Khumayni emphasized recreation and leisure activities. He encouraged this in his children saying that everything has its time; don’t play at the time of work and don’t work at the time of play, he used to say. Benefits of Happiness a) Uplifts the spirit. Imam Ali (a) says: Happiness expands the soul and creates liveliness. B) Stimulates physical health. Prolonged sadness harms the body physically. Imam Ali (a) says: A lot of grief weakens the body. c) Motivates action. Happiness creates a desire to be active, to achieve and progress in life. When the spirit is low there is little motivation to act. d) Creates positivity. Happy people are more positive in life. This affects their families and their societies, who in turn affect others. Types of Happiness How do human beings become happy? Different types of happiness have been mentioned in the Quran and Hadith. Some of these are: 1) In the guidance sent by God: The deepest type of happiness is found when the spirit is fulfilled. This type of fulfillment is found in the guidance sent by the Almighty. When Allah describes the Quran, He says: Say by Allah’s grace and His mercy, let them rejoice in that! It is better than what they amass. (Yunus,10:58) 2) Receiving success from God. To know that you have support of Allah creates happiness in the heart of one who loves God. Allah says: . . . and on that day the faithful will rejoice, at Allah’s help.(ar-Rum, 4) 3) Being accepted by God. When describing Eid and the festive happiness it brings, Imam Ali (a) says: Eid is for one whose fasts are accepted by God and whose staying up at night is thanked by God. 4) Being able to do good. Imam Ali (a) says: Increase your happiness in what you have forwarded of good, and your sadness in what you have missed. He also says: The happiness of a believer lies in his obedience of God and his unhappiness in his sins. 5) A good Marriage. Allah says: And of His signs is that He created for you mates from yourselves that you may take comfort in them, and He ordained affection and mercy between you. . . (ar-Rum, 30:21) 6) Socializing with believing friends. The Holy Prophet (s) has said: Three things bring happiness to a believer in this world; meeting of brethren in faith, Iftaar after fasting, and the late night prayer. The happiness that is not liked by God is one that intoxicates the human being, making him forget his Creator and his purpose in life. Cultivating Happiness We often look for happiness outside of ourselves. We expect people to make us happy, or worse, things to make us happy. Then we are disappointed when we don’t get the expected happiness. We forget a crucial rule – happiness lies within us. It is, or should be, independent of circumstances. Each one of us can choose to be happy – or unhappy. Our attitude towards life depends on that choice. Be happy. Happy with the Lord you believe in, with the religion you are privileged to belong to, with the family and friends you are a part of. Be happy and know that happiness is infectious. Your happiness will make others happy too, and that also is an act of worship. Tahera Kassimali

  48. No, but lets see why you think so... This doesnt even have the structure of an argument, but let me try and give it some structure: 1. We are very small 2. If something is very small it isnt the centre piece of the Universe 3. Therefore we arent the centre piece of the Universe 1'. We evolved from more primitive life forms 2'. If something evolved from more primitive lifeforms, then it isnt the centre piece of the Universe 3. Therefore we arent the centre piece of the Universe. Premises 2 and 2' are completely unsupported. I'd like to see some argument for them. We do not value something purely based on size, otherwise a big rock would be more valuable than an individual human, which is absurd. And how does evolving from more primitive lifeforms preculde us from being the centre piece of the Universe? Everything ultimately evolved from subatomic particles (on the assumption that there are no souls), and sub atomic particles are obvioulsy more primitive than apes. So, if evolving from apes stops us from being the centre piece of the Universe, evolving from sub atomic particles should also stop us (as they are more primitive). But everthing evolved from subatomic particles, so per your logic, nothing can be the centre piece of the Universe! We are more important than the laws of physics.

  49. +1 Totally agree and also... I, along with Wonderer,, know women who speak like this. They just close their eyes and hope it will be over soon. I am not male, but I dont know how a man gets satisfaction with a non participating partner. The woman's husband must be totally disconnected from her if he does not feel her lack of enjoyment. Islamically, it is his job to satisfy her - something that seems to be lost on the lets-rape-the-wife-as-rape-does-not-exist poster and his admirer (good luck in your marriages guys). If the woman is having problems being sexually satisfied by her husband to the point of being repulsed by him - ignoring her needs and taking another wife is not going to solve the problem. If the guy is a poor lover - the second wife will eventually become equally repulsed and the two of them will be discussing his shortcomings over a cup of chai!! As women grow older (30 is the peak I believe) and realize their needs, their sex drive increases and their expectations probably increase as well. The COUPLE have a problem. The woman needs to bring their problem out in the open so they can discuss it and get help - I don't think it is a secret to him. And Islamically, he needs to work on his technique as well as provide help for his wife if she is overwhelmed and over tired from the baby. The best husband protects and nurtures the needs of his wife - these men are keepers :) And sex on a camels hump would be very dangerous and very disrespectful to the camel! I have often thought along the same lines but in a more genteel manner of course. No one owns you - you are a free person. And yes there are medications for women - I know of testosterone cream which is supposed to be very effective. But before going that route try the other things first.
