  1. Very true and that would be very embarrassing. You wouldn't go because you would abuse it? I didn't think you were like that! :P Joking aside, it's a fair point, but the people who abuse it should be reported to the organisers and get booted out. Maybe speed-dating isn't the answer, but we definitlely need something in the Shia community to help facilitate marriage.

  3. Food which is too spicy loses its original flavour. You'll just be tasting spices! Iranian food is simply on the top as it's flavoursome... you get different types of spices used in different parts of Iran. This is then then followed by Lebanese and Turkish food :D Plus, we know how to cook our rice properly....

  4. I posted a thread a while back showing armed assad thugs wearing civilian insurgent rags operating alongside the Syrian army in Deir Azzor. Why should I not believe its them who are killing the people instead of "armed rebels". Why would armed salafists kill the protestors anyways? That aside though, an armed rebellion is one of the consequences of such a system, so I wouldn't call them terrorists right off the bat. Wouldn't you pick a weapon and fight tanks and army troops entering your city too? At that point, it doesn't matter what you are called. Now had there been a system where the people can choose their leaders, and the leaders are not oppressive then yes cracking down on public disorder is fine if done properly. You see how the UK is not painted as a terrorist state when they crackdown on riots? Its not the mass media that's pushing this idea, but the governance system is such where you can't justify such riots.

  5. Lool , May Allah bless you for making me smile. Since 1400 years, muslims were debating our marriage of your second Caliph and from now own there will be a new topic to add, his highness the Ottomon's engagement with A shia sister. What a joke. This is related to fiqah not to Shia Sunni debate. First of all his highness as you are the true muslim, can you name that relationship which you had since last 2 years with this sister of yours!!? It does not sound good from very pious personality who cares so much about Islam and is worried about his engagement, and is going place to place, forum to forum , announcing the very first post over this issue and speak also of " I have been seeing" wow. Ask for fatwa to repent if you think that you were committing any sin by your respected shunni alim. Please beware! some might order you stone to death :) ... Answer if not you but any other person ever comes to this situation, for a sunni man there are few proper ways to tackle this situation; 1- Become shia , believe me you will never end up as companion of Hell by following Allah through Muhammad s.a.w and his progeny p.b.u.t. 2- If you really love the shia female, then respect her family values , repent for the sin, which you had been in and get married to some Indonesian muslim shunni sister of yours. Indonesia is most populated muslim country, if you are having problems here and there, try there. 3- If girl become sunnis then there is big disadvantage in that relationship. You will become very harsh on her, always doubt her. The fact if she can sell her faith for a man then she can be sell her so many things just like this will never left you live in peace and psychologically you will suffer from Major Depressive disorder for the rest of your life. So avoid this one. I say option first is good. Just try it. And May Allah curse those who make fun of religion.

  8. Support what? The annihilation of terrorists? You know they tried the same thing in Lebanon? The Lebanese army wiped out the whole camp http://en.wikipedia....ebanon_conflict The terrorists were hired by Hariri. Later, the head General Francois Al-Hajj that was leading the campaign against the terrorists was assassinated http://en.wikipedia....3%A7ois_al-Hajj When Hariri went to his funeral, he was spat on and told to get lost Here's the one question you should be asking yourself. The Syrian army is clearly fighting an armed group. Who is that armed group? How can they be 'innocent' if they're armed and shooting back? You see, you can't answer that question, because it's obvious. If they were 'peaceful protesters' they wouldn't be armed. So why are they armed? And why are they shooting both civilians and the army? As for your videos, they're all a sham. The mosque was being used by the terrorists to launch RPGs. The army wouldn't randomly destroy a mosque. The dead men that you titled 'civilians' look like young men, you can't prove that they weren't shooting at servicemen. Similarly, you can't prove that they weren't killed by the terrorists. The people 'screaming' Allahu Akbar ... yeh? Everyone does it in the Middle East when you're caught in cross-fire. What's your point? Let's get something straight here. Al-Jazeera and the rest of the BS spin-doctors have become worthless. Their lies are splattered all over the screens throughout the M.E. They're a mouth piece of Riyadh and of Washington. The terrorist nest that is Riyadh will get destroyed for this brutality happening in Syria. The terrorist nest that is Riyadh will get destroyed for their support of the brutality against the people of South Lebanon. The terrorist nest that is Riyadh will get destroyed for all their Takfiri ideologies that they've spread throughout the Middle East. Their extremist Wahhabi doctrine will be their downfall. They will be wiped out just like Nahrul Barid had its terrorists wiped out, and Riyadh, nor Tel-Aviv nor Washington can do anything about it. Those phony videos on Youtube aren't tricking anybody.

I've heard different interpretations of what heaven is like. One thing I've heard is that you can do anything you want in heaven. If you could do anything in heaven, what would it be? Besides being married, I would want to live in Candyland. I would be a princess with a castle in Candyland. I would eat lots of candy.

The problem is the arab will not unite and the call for them to unite must be from a higher power. Then he tells obama what can he do about it if we all go to the borders. LOL i can stop laughing how he said that.

  15. (salam) I have some "friends" on facebook that love to show off their looks. You all know what I'm talking about, it's the same old jazz: girl uploads a picture of herself in some random pose and fashion, then enjoys a plethora of comments which basically cry out ==> <3 "you look hawt :D " etc My question: am I in trouble, i.e. is it unislamic, for me keeping such friends on FB? Can't believe it took me all this time to ask...

  16. The problem is the media. These girls, whether they know it or not, and being ripped in two. On one hand they want to be recognized and given attention, it's standard femininity, and the easiest way to do that is through 'fashion'. On the other hand, they know the importance (but not necessarily the reason behind) keeping hijab. So they wouldn't abandon that either. They end up in between those two poles. So these social medias are the new fad in delivering that objective of being recognized by a social group. As many have already said, they need to get married. Upon marriage, a large percentage no longer need to behave in such a way, i.e. they've 'passed the finish line' in the social rat-race so to speak. Those that still do, are mostly made up of those that aren't given enough attention by their husbands. The key lies in education.

  17. it is totally exceptable otherwise we would not have this dua for it: Translation of Dua-e-Ariza I have written to you O my master, may His mercy and blessing be on you, seeking a favour from you. I have complained to you for what has happened to me seeking solutions firstly from Allah and then from you for a matter that has obsessed me. I am helpless in combating the problem and for that I have resorted to seeking help from Allah and from you. Knowing the status you have with Allah. I am confident that you will help me get the solutions to my problems swiftly and that you will intercede on my behalf. I am helpless and moreover I am sinful: so help O master and present this problem to Allah and I pray to Him that He will solve this quickly and grant me victory and success in finding the solution to my problems. 23. yes my apologies, heres a question and answer from sistani.org on the matter Question : Is it permissible to draw or produce a scene which shows the Prophet Muhammad (s.a.w.), one of the past prophets or the infallible Imams (a.s.), or other luminaries and show it in cinema, on television or theatre? Answer : If due deference and respect is observed, and the scene does not contain anything that would detract from their holy pictures in the minds [of the viewers], there is no problem. in evry case the potraits would make believe us to think that is the image of who is being portrayed, and thus it would lead to imperfected thoughts on the prophets or the imams appearences (bismillah)

  30. Definitely no human would support this. But why highlight this when it is available on YouTube. Why not add clips for Bahrain and Yemen. Let's support democracy everywhere but are syrians asking for democracy or are they asking one dictatorship to be replaced by another one but this time friendly to Jordan and Saudi? I believe the most genuine of Arab risings was/is Bahrain where it was not engineered by any outsider. The rest are just to replace faces and not the system, Yemen included.

H 623, Ch. 38, h 3 Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad ibn ‘Isa from al-Husayn ibn Sa‘id from al-Nadr ibn Suwayd from Yahya al-Halabi from ibn Muskan from abu Basir from abu ‘Abdallah (a.s.) who has said the following. "Of the legacy that the Messenger of Allah left was a sword, a coat of arms, a spears, a saddle and a gray mule. H 625, Ch. 38, h 5 Ahmad ibn Muhammad and Muhammad ibn Yahya have narrated from Muhammad ibn al-Hassan from Muhammad ibn ‘Isa from Ahmad ibn abu ‘Abdallah who has said that he asked abu al-Hassan al-Rida (a.s.) about al-Dhulfaqar, the sword of the Messenger of Allah as to wherefrom it was. The Imam (a.s.) said, "Jibril came down with it from the heavens. It was decorated with gold and it is with me now." Now as you can see the grading of these Ahadith from al Kafi are Saheeh so judging from the lineage of inheritance it currently is with the 12th Imam(as)

  37. Next night, the people came over to prophet's house wanting to come to the mosque to pray but he declined which means he didnt approve what they were doing behind him. Simple. Its only your assumption that he prayed in congregation because we see the prophet stopping the very next night when he found people assuming incorrect prayer method. I still do not see the word led in the hadith nor do I see prophet inviting people to join him in taraweh. All I see is 'leading the prayer' in brackets which means it had been added by someone else & not by the narrator. So this hadith still doesnt prove you right. Try again. The part which you said has been explained. Correction.... Prophet never led the prayer. If few people misunderstood what was happening how do you say prophet did it? Yes, because you said every hadith in Sahih Bukhari is authentic. So why do you want more than one sahih hadith to prove your point? So first, please clarify the hadith which I had posted earlier as to why it contradicts other hadiths in your book with regards to the number of nights? But thats not what you said in your previous post. Anyways, he immediately corrected people when people started calling him out the next night. If I am praying and few people start praying behind me does that mean I am leading them voluntarily, right? If few muslims mistook individual prayers as congregational prayers that doesnt imply prophet led them. Does it? Didnt he say the samething when he found out that people wanted him to lead? The hadith in discussion doesnt tell me that everyone prayed individually the first night however it does tell me that prophet prayed individually. Again few ignorant people's actions cannot constitute prophet's actions. Can it? Exactly my point, prophet said pray it individually. Otherwise why would they come and ask for prophet in the middle of the night? I didnt say anything about everyone. I am only talking about what prophet did. So stop making assumptions. Prove it that he led the people or invited people to join him before you make any further statements with regards to praying in congregation. It is definitely a biddah. But when did I say what you had quoted in your previous post? Again, narrator has not used the word led. So you still havent proved this. No you cannot. If prophet has stopped you from doing it, then no one has the right to overrule his command.

  43. Abu Bakr and Umar were the ones who conspired to take away the caliphate from Imam Ali (as). I don't think Uthman was involved at that time, he wasn't even in Saqifa. But its bad enough that all 3 of them denied Imam Ali his right. Abu Bakr also refused to give Bibi Fatima her rightful inheritance, the land of Fadak. Umar attacked the house of Imam Ali and Sayyeda Fatima (as). and she died because of those injuries. So yes he did kill her. whether intentionally or unintentionally. During Uthman's caliphate he favoured his relatives over others in regards to powerful positions. For example he made Walid bin Uqbah the governor of Kufa (I think walid was the foster brother of uthman). Personally I believe Umar was the worst of the 3, he seems more cunning and crafty. The outcome of saqifa was also due to his meddling. He nominated Abu Bakr in the first place. Apart from that he behaved aggressively towards Imam Ali's household. He stormed their house, no respect for the family of the Holy Prophet. Killed the daughter of the Prophet. Arrested the successor of the Prophet. His behaviour at the battle of Uhud shows how much faith he had. Also his actions at the deathbed of the Prophet, when the prophet wanted to write his will. But all 3 of them are seen to be equally bad because they denied Imam Ali his right, and didn't adhere to the will of the Prophet, and the command of Allah ÓÈÍÇäå æÊÚÇáì. That is definitely their biggest sin, amongst many manyyyyy others.

  44. Salams, We should be careful about giving advice such as 'wait' or 'don't wait' because we know very little about her situation. If she waits and then gets into some kind of haram as a result of waiting (which is very, very common nowdays, just take a look at facebook which I'm sure most of you have) while there is a halal option for her, then she will be responsible for that before Allah(s.w.a) and also the people who gave her advice to wait while not knowing her circumstance will share some of the blame. A major problem is our communities these days is that young adults get used to this idea of lying, hypocrisy, and covering up truth(kafara) around this issue, so it infects their character and as a result their family and community and the ummah. Let me be very clear, I am not advising the OP to wait or not to wait, that is her decision. She knows herself and her situation better than any of us. That is why if you look at the fatawa from our marjaa, they don't tell someone 'do this' or 'don't do this' most of the time. They tell them that 'this is the haram, makrooh' and 'this is the 'halal, mustahab'. In regards to this issue, all our marjaa say the same thing. Marriage is highly mustahab (they didn't specify mutah or permenant, but most people just ignore that part) and WAJIB if there is fear of falling into haram as a result of not being married. The problem is that most brothers and sisters here lie to themselves and their parent about what their situation really is in regards to this issue or they don't know what halal and haram is. It is like throwing a white sheet over a pile of rotten fruit. If you just want to see the white sheet, you will just look at that and ignore the bad smell and the obvious signs that there is something rotten underneath. Today, in most places on earth, the haram has become very easy and available and the haqq and adl have been distorted and roadblocks have been placed in front of brothers and sisters who want to go toward the haqq and adl. I don't think I need to go into details about this, because most get what I am saying. So from an Islamic perspective it is a clear choice. If a brother or sisters knows that they are either already in haram or going toward haram as a result of not being married, then it is wajib for them to get married. They can lie to themselves and their parents, but Allah(s.w.a) sees what they do and their is accountability in this life and the next if Allah(s.w.a) placed a halal option before this brother or sisters and they ignored it and turned away for some reason. The conditions for marriage are the balagha(maturity), soundness of mind, consent, seegha (pronouncement of the marriage contract in Arabic and the writing down of any mutually agreed upon conditions for the marriage) maher (dowry), and specification of time period, if it is mutah. Also that the partner should have Iman and taqwa. The other condition is father or grandfather's consent if the girl is a virgin. Most marjaa say that this condition is not necessary if there is an urgent need (like what I said above) and they father's objection is not based on the guys Iman and taqwa but some other reason. So if the conditions are met, and the elibible partner is there, and this is ignored, and haram happens as a result, then all who stopped the marriage from taking place will face consequences before Allah(s.w.a). This is not my opinion, it is a clear issue.

    Who Created Allah

The question of who created god is based on wrong foundations. When we say something has been created eg a house, it means that there was nothing before and it came into existence at some point in time. Now it is god that that created NOTHING and created TIME Limiting god to concepts that he created is not possible because it is he who created everything. If we are to say that there was nothing before god, it would be wrong because god created this "nothing" it it god who started creating and the concept of creation came from him. Now if he started "creation", to limit his existence to his own creation would be wrong; else one would ask what was creation like before god. And as mentioned above, there can not be a situation of before god as the questions that relate to before and after are in relation to time. eg before noon, after i left, before we ate, after dinner etc. And it is god who created time, so to limit him to his own creation would be pointless.
