Assalam 3laikum wr wb Im a revert to Islam since April08, alhumdulilah, my parents know of my interest, and i told my mum i wanted to become a Muslim, but they have totally ignored all of it. They have seen me in abaya and Hijab, helped me get to and from the mosque, but i have a feeling that if i go for it "full time" that i wouldnt have a home anymore. Im scared of losing my family, scared of not having a home to go to. Any advice on this? im 18, and i dont have a job.. so i wouldnt have any money to support me. There is a job opportunity, but im waiting for to get back to me, so im not totally "bumming" around haha. Please, any advice? JazakAllah Kheir Salams2 points -

786 Salam wr wb It brings a great sadness to my heart to see we are still squabbling over such trivial issues. But of course, what are the Shi'a known for besides their extravagant practices and rumor spreading which is so cleverly disguised as 'jurisprudence'. No wonder our Imam(as) is still in occultation! We so-called 'shia' have allowed the turbaned mafia to set us back to a state even worse than Jahilliyah! Remember what Imam Ali(as) said, "Look at what is being said, not the person who is saying it." Just because a Sheikh, Mowlana, Ayatollah, or ANYONE says ANYTHING... it does not automatically mean it is haqq, truth. If no proof is provided, it should not even be considered. But hey, to each his own right? If you want to believe that our Imams(as) had nothing better to do than cry, wail, moan, sing along to poetry with chest beating/cutting accompaniment, then by all means... keep that hollowed out picture of the most holy human beings the earth has seen in your head. The Imams(as) in my tiny mind, from the little bit I have researched, were too busy studying & teaching & trying to fight the tyranny & ignorance around them. If you want to follow the traditions of the poets & market profiteers of the empires past, then go right ahead... as long as your conscience & soul make it 'halal'. I, on the other hand, prefer to follow the mustahabat that the Ahlul Bayt(as) have left us in AUTHENTIC traditions that also do not go against one's common sense. And for the brother that says Syed Sistani 'allows' zanjeer/blood matam to be performed... think again. It depends on where you live, according to his official representatives. If you live in the west, Sistani does NOT allow such 'loving' behavior. I hope I have not offended anyone. May Allah forgive me if I said anything in error. May He guide us all to the proper truth, the indisputable truth of the perfect light, and not the dimmed light that certain 'scholars' have been providing us.2 points -

No, i dont wear Hijab yet, but i pray to Allah that i could! Everytime i go to pray my prayers, my family knock on my door, and i have to restart them over and over. But atleast I'm attempting them. They know I go to Ashura, and have seen me in full BLACK abaya and Hijab. Which is probably not the image they want to see their daughter, their reaciton was "this is not our daughter, who are you?", it hurt to hear that. But once i got out of the house, i was happy, because to walk the street with the abaya and hijab, was magnificent subhanAllah the feeling. I'm just hoping Allah gives me more strength. My friend is thinking about moving out around April/May, and she said i can go with her if i like, shes a revert of 6 years mashaAllah. By then, I should have a full-time job inshaAllah. All i can say is InshaAllah! Im still hoping everyday, that I get to where I want to be, but im taking things day by day, as tomorrow isnt promised, and I do the most I can do in that day. thanks so much for your replies! Sis. All the promises I made I could not keep For I was smaller than my own words A beautiful woven masterfully crafted Lie But he was so unaware, so oblivious And so he put all his trust in me All the bitterness I awakened in him! This bitterness enabled me to steal The happiness of the little things His cynicism gave me purpose Allowed me to take all of life‘s joyful moments and hide them away forever And I relished in this power He went to sleep angry and awoke enraged I gave him this anger To replace solace And knowing this I paid no heed He was weak before my assurances Of heaven and of eternal salvation He was like a child I crafted his innocent dreams And then used my merciless hands To uproot them To shatter him All the confusion that I inspired For I was the source of everything I could taking it away willingly Knowingly and happily Confident in my control I grew close to him Letting him open me Assured he could do me no harm He was insignificant So I let my curiosity get the best of me For I too wanted to be inspired And when I grew too close to him When I let him overcome me I nourished him He grew from my love He thrived on my words And so he began to question me And I followed his lead Playing the role of the child of the mother All at once All so carefree, so recklessly To pacify myself when he chastised me And when he broke my heart When he shattered everything He had a thousand reasons All numbing me Silencing me Accusing me His words were enveloping me And my lies were suffocating me And I was broken Unable to say a word He had betrayed me And suddenly he did not seem so small to me1 point -

Choosing between Al Kafi and Al Mizan, I would recommend Al Mizan. That is because it will help you acquire better understating of the Holy Quran and will give you a general template of what the deen is about. Thereon once you will move to study hadith collection, you will be able to understand it better because you will be assessing it under the light of the holy Quran.1 point

Correct me if I am wrong, but in theory, no scholar has forbidden these acts of love. They have only forbidden to practice certain acts out in the open in front of the public, e.g. taking shirts off, tetbeer etc . So these acts can be performed in the private and with the right intention the reward could be great, Insha Allah.1 point

Marriage by force
dan_rafi reacted to Envir-Islam for a topic
Never try to force a women to marry or try to like you cause she will just NOT do it. I think the fact that you are trying is good but if she does not like you for yourself now then after marriage when you become yourself once again after convincing her to marry her, will she like you then? Most likely not. Maybe this girl is just difficult to marry or to win over. You can keep trying but do not force anything or act other then yourself to try and win her over... I do not agree with that statement fully. 1- not fun in bed? Have you had it more then with one guy to decide what is fun? 2-yes monthly cycles do suck and can get out of control 3-This is for your child. Becoming fat to produce YOUR kin is something that I think is a miracle and amazing. 4-Not all the stuff we do is boring. Cooking can be fun if you make it so. Laundry I hate so yeah that is boring. But women have to do it cause men surly can not. Though I do agree with We do sometimes get the bad end of the stick. There are men out there that appreciate us and there are men that do not. For the men that do not appreciate us can you live with out a women for a year and survive with out burning the house down? Sincerly, Drema1 point -

You want to force a woman who does not like you to marry you?? I don't blame her for not being interested. Did you know forced marriage are invalid in Islam and inhuman in every code of conduct? If you want to try to convince her that's something else. You can figure what does she not like in you and see if you can work that thing out so her view about you changes-maybe.1 point

Asalam Alaikum. Why can't we simply perform actions that are advised by Prophet Mohammad(PBUH) and the rest of the Imams(A.S). If there is an objection on down playing the role of Azadari, than I have an objection on down playing the Sunnah of Prophet Mohammad(PBUH) and Imams(A.S). I mean did Prophet Mohammad(PBUH) and/or any Imams(A.S) ever express themselves like this? I know Prophet Mohammad(PBUH) lost Abu Talib and Bibi Khadija in short intervals. How loudly did he cry? How much blood did he waste? People these days need to learn to donate that same blood and help victims from Afghanistan, Iraq, Palestine, and other wars. Simply ask yourself with a neutral, calm, and mature manner. If Prophet Mohammad(PBUH) or any Imam(A.S) was present, would they perform any of these actions? We are commemorating the Martyrs who saved Islam, can we create our own method of Azadari or should we use what they shed their blood for? I am sorry if I sound to undermine the importance of Azadari but not at the expense of what our Prophet Mohammad(PBUH) and Imams(A.S) taught us which are priceless and 'divine' values? I mean when was the last time you heard any Ulema talk about how Prophet Mohammad(PBUH) or any Imam(A.S) spent these days of grief. Imam Redha (A.S.) said: "With the advent of the month of Muharram, my father Imam Kadhim (A.S.) would never be seen laughing; gloom and sadness would overcome him for (the first) ten days of the month; and when the tenth day of the month would dawn, it would be a day of tragedy, grief and weeping for him." Thank You. Take care. Allah Hafiz.1 point -

naro in post #2: naro in post #10: naro in post #13: To sum it all up: Once upon a time some guy had a brain. The brain reached the conclusion that: "nobody can live twice". The brain was easily contradicted by the Quran. The brain was FORCED to accept that: "People can live twice". Because of its contradictions with the Quran people no longer trusted the brain. But the owner of the brain insisted: "You know, I don't always need the Quran or hadiths to make assumptions, I got a brain." The brain came up with another brilliant Idea: "Yes Uzair and only him. And he was a Prophet". The people never found out why the brain reached the conclusion that: This is ONLY possible for Uzair. People learned not to trust the brain. Peace!1 point

who is 'his very best' if not Imam Mahdi and Jesus ( who will not be brought back to life ) ? If God wanted to send Imam Hussein for the end times then why did he make him live and die 1400 years earlier ? Yes the above statement that all prophets are worth more than imams is my assumption. I don't see why Imams who never received revelation or communicated with God or performed miracles would be worth more than Prophets who performed all kind of miracles, from transforming a rod into a snake to curing the leper and the blind in a second. I don't see why Imams who were poisoned or assassinated would be worth more than Prophets who were constantly protected by God from suffering and from tragic events or miraculously cured by God when they were tested with a disease. It's like saying Imam Hussein's wife is worth more than Virgin Mary. You know, I don't always need the Quran or hadiths to make assumptions, I got a brain.1 point

Hi Einstein. Maybe I should have precised : nobody can live twice on earth ? The verses you quote talk about living life on earth then dying, then being resurrected for the afterlife on the Judgement Day. I supposed you would have guessed it, I guess I was wrong. And you don't need to remind me that Allah can do anything he wants, sure he can bring back an Imam to life if he wanted, but what is the purpose of it when he will send Imam Mahdi and Jesus ? ( these 2 didn't die yet. They will not go back to live on earth unlike Imam Hussein ) he can even turn all of you in monkeys and cats if he wanted, he can do every single thing. What kind of argument is that ? Your assumption that Imam Hussein will come back to life after 1400 years is completely unfounded. Might aswell say Abraham, Noah and Moses will come back too to be the next Imams.1 point

How do you see future of Pakistan?
The Green Knight reacted to Doctor_Naqvi for a topic
its a very dubitative kinda question. These militants certainly are dappling the peaceful image of Islam. I'm not being a Pessimist but when you've corrupt and Thrail politicians administering Ur country so how could ya expect any good for Ur country? Our politicians are puppets at the hands of America and those poltroons can't even dare to ask India to stop intervening in Pakistan? Each and every day India's foreign Minister or their Prime Minister don't forget to show their concerns regarding increasing militancy in Pakistan but Pakistani government always comes up with a simple excuse that," we'll surely give them the proofs of their intervention in our country". Is this enough? I don't think so. Why we're so afraid of them? Don't we've the capability to deal with them strictly? If Pakistani Government is so damn sure of India's intervention then why she's feeling shy to share the proofs and evidences with her? Why she's be-fooling her innocent ppl? One can't really ignore the factor of across the border terrorism. Who's funding these villains? We should reply them dauntlessly. We've faced enough and now its their turn to know that it really does hurt a lot when ya lose Ur loved ones. India was attacked on 26th of Nov 2008 by terrorists and still they're mourning over the loss of their ppl and security personnel but Wat about our thousands of security personnel and ppl who're no more 'coz of them. I'm not saying that Wat happened in India was right but i don't agree that any Pakistani was involved in that incident as the person who they're claiming to be a Pakistani doesn't look like a Paki 'coz of his features are very similar to ppl who live in Hyderabad deccan so its wrong to relate that incident with Pakistan and to take advantage of the fact that Karachi and Mumbai is connected to each other by the sea. It was a pre-planned and melodramatic activity. Who was behind samjhota express incident? I guess everybody is aware of that it was attacked by Ex-Indian Army Association. Our future could only be a bright one if our Government's gonna drag India and Afghanistan to the dialogue's table and should ask for their intervention in our country. Moreover Govt should force all the people illegally present in the country to leave and should arrange to stop the illegal flow of arms and money into the country from abroad. Regarding Islamization,i guess ppl are already fed up with this issue as we've tried to implement it in Swat and we do know Wat was the out-come? So we wanna see Pakistan as a developed and moderate Islamic state as i wonder whether there's any religious alliance in Pakistan where we can shape Islamic implementation that would be acceptable by followers of different sects present in Pakistan.Lets hope for the best.1 point -
It usually does. The people who have enough to make a sober life out of it also have the means to retain it. Compare it with the very poor who live a life bound by the shortage of money and often do not have the opportunities to climb up the ladder. That generally comes from those who have enough in their pockets. :dry:1 point

Rashida reacted to Bonafide Hustler for a topic
What you gots to understand sista is that although islam is supposed to dominate all facets of life, your faith and the extent of your believe in god is a personal matter. The hijab, the situation with your family, that is all secondary. If your heart has settled on islam, just pray in peace and go about with your daily live. Do not stress, eventually a few years down the road as you become more independent, everything will naturally become clearer with respects to how to deal with people who give you a hard time. We face similar situations for being one way or another and it doesn't even have to be religion. I would recommend you stay integrated with your friends and family, keep up normal relations, work on inner strength and keep praying to Allah.0 points -
