  2. Bismehe Ta3ala Assalam Alikum Remember those fellas hahaha? Many of them got banned, and those who didn't, left because their friends were no longer on the forum. Ask mods if they hidden the thread or see if you can find it in the cache version. If you end up coming, you will be impressed of the developments and changes that have occurred in the South and in the Dahiya. The Museum you are referring to is Mleeta and yes they do have English tour guides! For the most part, did you enjoy your time here? What were some of the pros and cons you experienced as a tourist? I still remember the picture you shared of your hotel room by the sea. SUB7AN'Allah, nice crisp blue sea and sunny! M3 Salamah, Fe Amin Allah
  3. I've never been able to get these to work. But I've been using the following system for over a month now and it's at least passed the test of me actually using it on a daily basis. It's a word document I keep in my Dropbox and therefore accessible by both my machines. Every month is a new word doc. Major headings are what I need to do today, and for dates coming up in the near future. There's general stuff that also needs to be done at some stage. And finally, there are days that have been completed that month at the bottom. I'm finding it reasonably practical to keep it updated so that I don't miss anything. Day by day the tasks at the top are more important than the ones below and the ones that are completed get shifted to the bottom of the list. And for the times when I worry that I have not done anything, I check the sent folders in outlook/mail and also recent documents just to update the list with work that I might otherwise have forgotten to note.
  4. Prophet Jesus (عليه السلام) saved many people from further going astray by calling them back to the pure, uncorrupted, monotheistic religion, that is Islam. He, as other Prophets, called upon people to completely submit themselves to what was originally revealed, not what they came to believe were the teachings. Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَتَعَالَىٰ), the creator of entire universe, can’t and doesn’t have any family; it is illogical and insulting, simply limiting the omnipotence of His (سُبْحَانَهُ وَتَعَالَىٰ) being. He (سُبْحَانَهُ وَتَعَالَىٰ) can forgive all the sins within seconds, therefore there is no need for Him (سُبْحَانَهُ وَتَعَالَىٰ) to cause anyone (in Christian understanding, it was himself!) to die for anyone else’s sins. Let’s not also forget that the mainstream Christian concept of trinity is not even found in the Bible, and as majority of Christian theology, it is one of the dogmas developed over hundreds of years at the ecumenical councils (325, 381, 431, 451, 553, 680-681, 754, 787 et al.). Christianity as a religion, just keeps adding or removing things from its dogma, and this in itself is the simplest reason to reject it altogether. The very early “Christians”, never believed in Jesus (عليه السلام) being the “Son of God” nor “God the Son.” For example, the First Council of Nicaea (325) declared that Jesus (عليه السلام) is "homoousios (ὁμοούσιον) with the Father" (of the same substance and being as “the Father”), practically before that, Jesus (عليه السلام) was treated by mainstream Christians as the Prophet of Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَتَعَالَىٰ), and not one, conjoined entity. The concept of Jesus (عليه السلام) “being one” with Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَتَعَالَىٰ) “in substance” was entirely stolen and adopted into the mainstream Christian belief from the Gnostics. Before the 2nd century CE, there are no traces of any Christian believing in such dogma - for more, see Kelly, John Norman D (1972), Early Christian Creeds (3d ed.), London: Longman, p. 245. The modern day Torah (Old Testament) and the New Testament, in its entirety “the Bible”, are corrupted and nowhere close to what was originally revealed by Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَتَعَالَىٰ) to all his Muslims. Jews and Christians removed and added things over years, with the New Testament being the prime example of that, where at times Prophet Jesus (عليه السلام) calls Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَتَعَالَىٰ) his father, refers to both in the first person (as if they are one), or calls Him (سُبْحَانَهُ وَتَعَالَىٰ) his Lord and God. The illogical fallacies applied are out there clearly visible for those who seek the truth, are formally or self educated and use their brains to analyse the simplest of the presented facts.
  5. Hhhhhh I posted in part to troll the troll Leb members who were not happy with my thread. Shame I can no longer find it. No I only was in the Christian or Sunni parts. But would visit again and would visit the Shia part for sure. Would be cool to visit this Hezb museum I heard about in South.
  6. Ohhhh, that's right, remember your thread about your travels to Beirut? Would you visit again? Did you end up going to the Dahiya? M3 Salamah, Fe Amin Allah

@Ashvazdanghe Jazakalah for your answer and links. I cannot read Arabic yet but google translated it for me. As I thought, it seems like not every soul receives these privileges but some do. I have also felt the presence of some diseased souls around me on Thursday or Friday night. I remember watching a lecture about many out of body stories by Muslims including some visiting relatives.
  8. Are you sure? It is a "verified" account. His most recent tweets do not look like they are a parody.
  9. Bismehe Ta3ala Assalam Alikum In Lebanon, many people who drive vans, truck drivers, taxi drivers carry metal rods, sticks, and bats. It's not a joke, road rage happens on a daily basis. I've seen people who ride scooters and motorcycles who are loaded with guns. My secret? Just think everyone is in a hurry to go to the bathroom. Smile, nod, and higher the volume of the radio, so the car horn doesn't distract you. Happy driving. M3 Salamah, Fe Amin Allah
  10. That's not his actual Twitter. Its a comedy Twitter that someone else sarcastically posts with.
  11. This is in particular to any fellow Londoners, but to whomever it applies. Except Yanks, we get it, you can buy guns with your groceries at Walmart. So as some know, there is a growing knife epidemic in London and lenient punishments are not deterring people from using or carrying. It honestly can be rather bleak beyond outsider perceptions of what London is like. So I wanted to ask, has anyone considered owning legal, non-lethal defensive weapons? Enough to at least temporarily disarm or disable a would be attacker? Heck, you can still by knives anyway, even foldable ones that lool like a credit card online, but I am not talking about fatally hurting. Examples include legal pepper-spray, fast-strike weapons, and bats. These unsurprisingly, are available on that main website we all do our online shopping from. Having them in your home is one thing, but carrying or having them in a vehicle may be a grey, if not illegal area. Though bats in a car can be reasonable. Anyway these are just some thoughts I've had recently. It is also not about staying or avoiding trouble, sonetimes it comes to you. Trust in Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى), but tie your camel. What are your thoughts?
  12. Brothers and sisters Assalam Alikum. Whatever is in your power and means, do not choose to stay quiet. Now is the time to voice your dismay about the Tyrants of Sauood. Please stay informed of the events taking place and do what you can to raise awareness. So many people continue to die from this cursed family, Insh'Allah their end is near, behaq Mohammed wa Ahli Mohammed.
  13. When I worked as a cleaner at a leisure centre last year, one of the actors from Games of Throne used to come and use the leisure centre, my colleagues used to mention it but I still don't know what he looked like because I never took the initiative to find out, although I used to see everybody that came to the leisure centre and I am sure I saw him many times. When I accidentally came across some promotional material about the show on the internet, it rang a bell of a thin tall looking guy with a beard, sometimes I used to be there with him with only a few people using the male changing rooms. The media is very manipulative, I see adverts pop up and play for at least 5 seconds without my permission. Yes these shows are very damning. Although I like old shows such as the 'Waltons' and 'Little House on the Prairie' because they promoted family values and did not ridicule or put anybody down, I think that is much more in line with Islamic values.

  15. Jazakalah yes I agree that Our Prophet and Imams ((عليه السلام)) did not take this approach, that does hurt me about myself. I am trying to change to a degree. However my main point was that when we go to the extreme of being a complete realists to become media junkies as I used to be by excepting everything the media tell us, they then have the power to control us. That's why psychologically I went within myself and became a realist, which helped heal myself and I know more and more people in society are thinking along the same lines and withdrawing themselves. However there is a danger of becoming too closed minded. I am fighting this jihad within myself and I am learning from our Our Prophet and Imams ((عليه السلام)) as role models to be modest. I am now trying to take a constructivist approach by trying to control what comes and goes in my mind and socially engaging myself with others in society but having a significant amount of control over it, that way the media cannot manipulate us. For somebody like myself that has been to the extreme end of embracing everything that the media and culture threw at me and then changing 180 degrees and now struggling to come out and face the world, the psychological approach I mentioned is helpful. It helps us to control our emotions and not let others overpower, control or manipulate us. Yes I understand, of course we need to be aware of things around us, hence the reason Allah subhana wa tala has placed pain receptors under our skin tissues, otherwise we would be walking around bumping into lamp posts so to speak. It is the same with mind manipulation and conditioning through mental energy driven by thoughts and the media uses this very well.
  16. That’s so sad, these insane groups are always around. Qarmatians even pillaged holy cities, because they believed it would hasten the end of the world. I always wonder if they truly believe in such nonsense, or are they just using it for their particular agenda.
  17. Muslims observe fast, as in any act of devotion, to seek nearness to God, seek His pleasure and Forgiveness, and generate a spirit of piety in Man. Fasting in this month honors the revelation of God’s word and purifies one in preparation for the night of decrees and in hope of forgiveness. Fasting is a yearly spiritual renewal, given abundant reward in this month of God’s Mercy, that is part of the Islamic path to the ideal self. 19. I would think that marrying someone over the phone or Skype is all that romantic. I would like to be close to my future husband in such a situation. If I am to ashamed to be there with him I would not want to marry him in the first place. You can always try Muttah if that is your thing. Personally I would not like to use that option even though it is legal in Islam. To me it resemble prostitution and I think that sometimes it is also used for that. And I would not like to have that type of relationship with a man. I wouldn't judge other who do it, but it is not for me.
  20. so anything that beautifies isnt allowed? Mascara/lipgloss etc?
  21. Thanks , they don’t represent any Muslim but they use such excuses to kill people in name of Islam both groups that attacked christchurch mosque & Srilanka churches are product of global zionism that are following policy of “divide & conquer” between Christians & Muslims
  22. As other members said, it is available and we can buy it from bookstores. We have the Bible and Bible Dictionary in our library.
  23. Yes. Makeup to cover a defect is permitted to be worn in public. Makeup for beautification should be only worn in private or should be covered.
  24. It seems rather logical to me that when one says "there are many [...] and only one is right" then it is to explain that the majority is wrong. Here the hadith is used to say that in fine, the majority is right. The rethoric is not adapted with the message.
