Mr. Obama may need to review this article to make some corrections of the past errors. If and if he is serious about finding more friends and more respects for America in the world, especially in the ME and Muslim world. It was never about democracy By Mamoon Alabbasi - "Those dirty A-rabs don't deserve democracy. We give them freedom and they kill our troops. We should nuke them all..." -"Bring our troops home. What are they doing dying in some far away land trying to bring democracy to people who don't want it?" -"We Arabs are not yet ready for democracy. We need strong authoritarian governments to keep the peace and ensure economic growth." -"We should be grateful…

Sharon: Iran Next on War List NewsMax.com Friday, Nov. 8, 2002 Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon says the U.S. war on terror shouldn't end with Iraq. Iran is just as dangerous and a top priority for a regime change, Sharon said this week. He argued that although Iraq is an "insane" regime, Iran is a "center of world terror." In an exclusive interview with the New York Post, Sharon said that as soon as Iraq is dealt with, he "will push for Iran to be at the top of the 'to do' list." "Iran makes every effort to possess weapons of mass destruction … and ballistic missiles … That is a danger to the Middle East, and a danger to Europe,” he said. Repeating that Iran…

from ARMY TIMES this is an article from the american "army times" This Week's Army Times Published: May 17, 2004 Editorial: A failure of leadership at the highest levels Around the halls of the Pentagon, a term of caustic derision has emerged for the enlisted soldiers at the heart of the furor over the Abu Ghraib prison scandal: the six morons who lost the war. Indeed, the damage done to the U.S. military and the nation as a whole by the horrifying photographs of U.S. soldiers abusing Iraqi detainees at the notorious prison is incalculable. But the folks in the Pentagon are talking about the wrong morons. There is no excuse for the behavior displayed by soldiers in the…

(bismillah) (salam) http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/middle_east/3156048.stm Drug crisis grips Baghdad Iraqi police want tougher sentences for drug dealers A drugs epidemic and accompanying crime wave is sweeping Baghdad. A boom in supply of hallucinogenic tablets has been coupled with the release of tens of thousands of criminals from prison before the US-led invasion to create a huge problem for the fledgling Iraqi police force. As well as the tablets, drugs like Valium and sleeping pills - in common use in Iraqi jails - are being used. The euphoria and lack of fear provided by the drugs, the police say, is giving desperate criminals the courage to carry out more…

Israeli officials have been forced to admit that Binyamin Netanyahu, the Israeli Prime Minister, made a secret trip to Moscow this week. The revelation, which comes after denials of Israeli and Russian press reports, reinforces speculation that the Israelis played a role in stopping an alleged shipment of Russian arms to Iran. The fact that Mr Netanyahu had used a false cover story for his absence on Monday — his military attaché told reporters that he was busy touring "security facilities" — prompted anger among Israeli commentators, who accused the Prime Minister of bad faith. The visit appears to be linked to the story of the Arctic Sea, a cargo ship meant to be carryi…

I had always thought when members of differnt political parties come on-air and claim that "pakistani awam ki ye kowahish hai"(Pakistanis wants this...) and today i was watching a program on a pakistani channel in which this man by name Ishaq dar (member of pml-n) claimed that Pakistanis want that the 17th amendement should be dissolved through 18th amendement blah bla bla!!!... My thought was provoked that how come this dissolution (of 17th amendment) would affect a Pakistani and how can he say that Pakistanis want it to be dissolved.. whereas i seriously doubt that a majority (60%) people would be unaware of this amendment??? Wassalam
