when do americans and canadians start their degrees and when do they finish them

10th  grade: 15 - 16
11th grade:  16 - 17
12th grade:  17 - 18

Most Americans start their degrees after high school and it normally takes 4-5 years to finish a Bachelor's, assuming you go full time.  

I assume it's similar for Canadian students.

Well in Ontario Canada.  We have a grade 13, called OAC.  This stands for Ontario Academic Credit.  It means if you wish to transfer to university after Highschool you must take that year.  If you dont you can only go to collage and then go to university.

This is why I can only get into university this year, when I'm 19.
