Salam there is no certain percentage but must be less than 100% because of that we pay khums

The Black Market

The dependants of Imam Ja'afer Sadiq (a.s.) had increased in number; so had his expenses. The
Imam decided to invest some money in trade to meet the increased expenses of the house. He
arranged for an amount of thousand Dinars which he gave to his slave named 'Musadif' directing him to proceed to Egypt and to invest the amount in business on behalf of Imam.

I want to know what would be the halal percentage of earnings if you own a grocery mart?

What do you mean by "halal percentage of earnings"?

Do you mean % profit per product?

yes

Layman opinion based on common sense and caution:

1) Do not charge beyond the market price of the product unless you had to pay more for it as a retailer (the % profit should be the same after taking all costs into account)

2) Do not charge interest to your customers. While it is reasonable to account for inflation and the real price of the local currency at the time of selling/lending goods, do not insist upon the difference from those who clearly appear to be in difficult times.

3) Do not insult or harass your customers who may have bought items with a promise (agreement) to pay later.

4) Pay your taxes per legal requirements

Further recommendations:

5) A business always initially suffers loss. Create a bookkeeping account named zakat/khums. Add the losses to this account when you do not receive funds from those who are needy but bought items from your shop.
