Peace be upon the martyrs!

What clay were they made of and what clay are we made of?

For who does Allahسُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى describe martyrdom? What a pure heart such a person must have!

May Allahسُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى bless us all and our offspring with martyrdom fi sabillilah! What a waste to die an old man who has done nothing but to accumulate sins on sins throughout his life who has served and helped no one but himself.

Please recite a Fatiha and a heartfelt salawat.

A tribute to the Iranian martyrs in Syria:

I'm getting visions of old men running around looking for something to die for. Difference between planned martyrdom and suicide?

The difference is the motivation which starts your action and the goal which you try to achieve.

If your house catches on fire and your neighbor whos house is safe, runs to help you, he helps you and your family out of the house but dies in the process due to inhaling too much smoke, thats martyrdom. If you dive into the water to help a drowning child but end up drowning yourself, thats martyrdom. If you stop a suicide bomber from entering a place of people by throwing yourself on him before he enters and die with him, thats martyrdom.

If your in your house and set it on fire yourself because you are tired of life and burn up with it, thats suicide. If you throw yourself from a bridge because your dog died and now your sad, thats suicide. Etc.

Is the difference clear now?

Death will come to us all, whatever we feel about it, the lucky ones are the ones who do not die in vain and who gets the opportunity to make a choice and a difference.

If you look at that video I linked, you dont need to have vision of old men anymore, most of the men in the videos are men in their best years with young wives and children at home.

:fever:"l am just ... sick. This is as bad as the 'dotard' mispronunciation last Fall."

:ko:"What did l hear from another keyboard-'educated'-anchor ?

 "lamb-baste-ed"

:book:"lt is "lam-bast-ted" sliding the 't' into the 3rd syllable.

:furious:"See now what those commie-luving-ivory-tower subversives have done to our educational system?"

I def know the difference between martyrdom and suicide...planned martyrdom is another issue, often brought on by " ...for the sake of Allah"  Just checking.
