convince me about hijab

Question

Guest ????

I have been wearing hijab since i was 9, out of my own will. But i hate it now. I hate the way I look. I feel restricted by this piece of cloth on my head. What on earth is wearing something over your head got to do with being modest? And if it does, why do men not have to wear hijab on their head? It confuses me and just seems so senseless and unjust.

I understand we must cover our bodies for our own protection. But cloth over your head DOES NOT protect you. And i know this from personal experience.

It is a wajib, that should be the first priority, not what you like, but what Allah سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى like and made it as command to obey.

Is Allah suggesting women should cover their hair, just because men can't control their gaze or desires

Man could have desires even for hijabi woman. Why can't you see the hijab as being test of your Imaan? You are trying to justify your dislike of Hijab by trying to get reasoning for why woman should have them in first place. Yes, people can give you reasoning of why it is benefit, but who really cares about physical aspect, when for every Muslims the most important part is the obedience of Allah سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى and what Allah gives.

Imagine one who start to dislike Prayers, such a person will make it justify to himself that what benefit Prayers gives, and there have been such a people too before.

Do the people think that they will be left to say, "We believe" and they will not be tried?
But We have certainly tried those before them, and Allah will surely make evident those who are truthful, and He will surely make evident the liars. Quran 29:2-3

If a female is wearing a dress, why exactly does she need to cover a portion of the chest, while its being covered?. Unless the dress style is and was different to what we are comprehending or is the extra layer needed to not show form.

the objective of covering is to reduce the showing of skin. Hair is a beautification, which women enjoy in designing it while it also beautifies the females appeal. Women also can use their hair to flirt with or give away signs with it, such as playing with their hair. Over all, consider the covering as a reductive method in inducing the conditions of possible distractions that can lead to sin, according to religious law. Now ofcourse, in regards to society or social arenas, behavior is depended on both the genders and the virility  of both. unfortunatley one should also focus it on from genetics, good looking sexes generally break the boundaries more in regards to appearance, where as those without, exaggerate it to compete with the gifted ones. Men will always look at the gifted and we assume, the law wants to curb the prejudice of beauty. One could question, why not just design females bald, it would simplify the whole process or reduce the desire in men for female hair styles....

I know your self hate it, you should ponder over yourself and your relation with God, because the hate does not come from piece of cloth, but rather of your self desire and your beauty.

أعوذ بالله من الشيطان الرجيم

بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم

Alif, Lam, Meem,

Allah, there is no God but He, the Everliving, the Self-subsisting by Whom all things subsist,

Allah bears witness that there is no God but He, and so do the angels and those possessed of knowledge, maintaining His creation with justice; there is no god but He, the Mighty, the Wise,

Whoever goes aright, for his own soul does he go aright; and whoever goes astray, to its detriment only does he go astray: nor can the bearer of a burden bear the burden of another, nor do We chastise until We raise a messenger,

Whoever desires this present life, We hasten to him therein what We please for whomsoever We desire, then We assign to him the hell; he shall enter it despised, driven away,

And whoever desires the hereafter and strives for it as he ought to strive and he is a believer; as for these, their striving shall surely be accepted,

I understand. But i just don't understand the reasoning nor the justice as to why men dont have to cover their hair.

Allah has written about hijab in such a confusing way. He doesnt say anywhere that you need to cover your hair, from what i have read. And people always use the "oh it protects you" argument. Which is a complete lie. Girls wearing hijab still get hit on.

Some men do it voluntary to cover their hair out of piety, even when it is not necessary for them to wear it.

It is not confused Sister, and He do say you need to cover your hair clearly. He clearly in verse make it obligatory to cover the hair but also the chest, because there used to be women who only covered their hair and not chest.

to wrap [a portion of] their headcovers over their chests and not expose their adornment except to their husbands... Quran 24:31

Many people always focus on Physical aspect on Hijab, when the spiritual is the most important. We need to obey Allah سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى if we claim ourselves to be Muslim in every commands He give us, if we do not do that, then we are obeying Shaytan and Shaytan will lead us to wrong path. Don't you want to be guided and follow Allah سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى way?

Rationally it does make sense to me. Hijab is basically a gift Allah has given you. It symbolizes modesty in the hypersexual culture where women are treated nothing more than pieces of meat. Nowadays people even use the body of women as an advertising tool.

Women who wear hijab value themselves and their true worth. They feel they should be judged based on their personality, rather than how curved their body is etc

Hijab also saves women from many sins. Would any hijabi girl ever feel like turning up to a night club?

Salam. Please read this and ponder and think about it. Allah سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى wouldn't just make you wear a cloth over your head for no reason, he would obviously do it for you to benefit from it.

This can be taken offensively because, there are many modest women who do not cover their hair. As if women who didnt cover their hair didnt value themselves.

And, counter to that, a full niqab also doesnt necessarily make a woman more modest, nor does it mean she values herself more than a woman who wears a hijab.

Sorry but when did I talk about non-hijabi women? Of course I've met many non hijabi women who are very modest and do value themselves. I do think you can still be modest without wearing hijab.

However, my point is directed at the purpose of hijab. A hijabi woman may use hijab as a way/tool of objecting the whole concept of objectification of women.

Women who dress more modestly - physically take a stronger stand to object this whole idea. (Although both can feel as passionate internally).

For example, a woman dressed provocatively can equally feel very strong about the fact that all women should be judged based on their personality and not their bodies. Well, it is kind of contradictory because they dress provocatively but at the same time they feel passionate about objecting this whole idea.

There are two types of modesty, internal and external. Women who wear niqab should be given the credit of being more modest externally, although It is not compulsory at all. I don't see what your point is here.

Assalam o alaikum sister,

I pray you're doing well.

Allah SWT. Instructs men about their hijab first and foremost and then tells women to be modest.

'Say to the believing men that they should lower their gaze and guard their modesty: that will make for greater purity for them: and Allah is well acquainted with all that they do. '

This is the hijab of believing men. The hijab is not just a cloth that sits on your head, it is a symbol of empowerment, intelligence, understanding, obedience, and so much more. You are saying to the world that you don't conform to the social norms of being valued based on your physical looks -- you are more than that. Your beauty is within your actions, intellect, and obedience to Allah SWT., Physical beauty is just a test of this world, and you should cherish that for your future husband. Similarly, you can expect your future husband will cherish his modesty and his gaze for his future wife (you).

The hijab has been made wajib. I admire your question and pray Allah SWT. makes it a cause to bring you closer to your hijab. I would advise you to speak to an Alim/scholar about this so they can give you concrete reasons and logic, as opposed to some of the opinions and lack of explanation being posted here. There is so much beauty in the hijab SubhanAllah.

Culture > Theology > Religion > Shia > General > Quranic topics  (cached)

img / daneshnameh_up / a / a3 / hijab2.jpgIn the Holy Quran, there are more than ten verses about the veil and the sanctity of looking at the nonhuman .
One of these verses is verse 59 of the surah al-Ahzab: " Or Ilah al-Nabi al-Qarlazwuj and Benatk and Nas al-Momenin Iindenīn Alīān, Ibn al-Jadīn al- eqn-e-dān-e-yarfn-fla-yuzin and khanullah ghafūra rahima " (O Prophet, tell your women and daughters, To cover up, to be known and not to be offended, and Allah is All-Compassionate, Merciful.)
It means a national cover; that is, a woman must wear all her body so that she is protected as a gentle flower from the swordsmanship.
In Sura Noor, verse 31, too, a great deal of talk about hijab and honoring the unworthy look is spoken.

Concept and dimensions of hijab in the Quran

The veil in the word means the barrier, curtain and cover. The use of this word is more than the meaning of the curtain. The word covers the concept that the curtain is a cover, but not every veil, but it is called the cover of the hijab through the back of the curtain.
The hijab, meaning ladies' Islamic cover, has two dimensions: a positive and negative one. The positive aspect of it, the necessity of covering the body and its diminutive dimension, is the forbiddenness of being revealed to the non-mahram; and these two dimensions should be together with each other so that Islamic veil can be realized; sometimes it may be the first dimension, but not the second dimension, in this case It can be said that Islamic hijab has been realized.
If, in the general sense, we call hijab any cover and impeding the receipt of sin, the hijab can have different types and different types. One kind of this veil is mental, intellectual, and spiritual; for example, belief in Islamic teachings, such as monotheism and prophecy, is one of the examples of the right veil, mental and spiritual, which can lead to sins and sins of mind and mind, such as infidelity And Shrek.
In addition, in the Qur'an, there are other types of hijab manifested in man's external behavior, such as hijab and cover in the eyes that men and women are advised in the face of the non-Mahram.

Purpose and philosophy of veil

The main purpose of the ordinance of the laws in Islam is to God, which is obtained through the cultivation of self and piety:
إن أكرمكم عند الله أتقكم (حجرات; 13) is magnanimous and most honorable to you with God.

- = ==========================================================================================================================================================================================================================================================
He is the God who raised among the people of Ammi (a people who did not know the reading and writing) a great prophet from the same people, to recite God's revelation to them, and purify them (from the ignorance of ignorance and ugly ethics), and the book of celibacy and wisdom In fact, before that, everyone was in a state of ignorance and misguidance.
The Holy Qur'an is used for the purpose of securing the divine commandment, the requirement of Islamic hijab, to achieve cultivation of the soul, purity, chastity, and purity. Verses like:
Let us convey the believers' eyes to the unworthy eyes and protect their bodies and their bodies, which is the best of their bodies and their purity.

Eye veil

O my Apostle, tell the believing men to put their eyes in vain view.

قل للمؤمنات أضضضان من أبصارهن (نور; 31) Tell the messenger to the believing women to cover their eyes with an unwise look.

Hijab in speech

Another type of hijab and cover of the Qur'an is the hijab of women's speech versus non-law:
Falla is a great deal of pain in your heart (parties; 32) So do not talk to men with thin, soft lips; lest you fall asleep (sickness and despair).

Behavioral Hijab

Another type of hijab and cover of the Quran is the veil of women's behavior against the non-Islamic. It is instructed that women should not walk in ways that would attract unharmed attention by showing their ornaments.
And let our Lah al-Jahran be tempted to blow us away (Ibn. 31), and they should not foot to the ground to reveal the ankles and their hidden ornaments.

Of the discussed topics, it is clearly used that the meaning of Islamic hijab is to cover and protect the coexistence of women with nonhuman men in different forms of behavior, such as how to cover, look, talk and walk.
Therefore, the veil and cover of a woman is also a constraint and an obstacle to nonhuman individuals who intend to infiltrate and capture the honor of others. There is also the same notion of banning and refusing the lexical roots of chastity;

Veil and chastity

The two words "veil" and "chastity" are essentially the meaning of common denial and refusal. The difference between prohibiting and restraining hijab and chastity is the difference between appearance and inwardness; that is, the prohibition and inhibition in the veil is related to appearance, but the prohibition and inhibition in chastity is related to the inner and inner, because chastity is an internal state, However, given that the effect of appearance on the interior and the external impact on appearance is one of the general characteristics of man; therefore, between the veil and the apparent cover, and the chastity and inner restraint of man, is the effect and the mutual influence; so that whatever the veil and the covering The appearance and the better, this type of veil is more effective in enhancing and enhancing the inner and inner mood of chastity, and vice versa, the greater the inner and inner envy of the The veil will look better in the encounter with aliens.

Elderly Women's Hijab

The Holy Quran has pointed to this impact in a subtle way. First, it allows elderly women to dress their clothes like a tent against a non-sanctuary without the intention of throwing themselves out, but ultimately says: "If they are sober, it even means clothes like tents." Not better.
And Al-Qawada'm Al-Nawa'ah Al-Naha'ah Al-Fayyid Allah Jinnah, the Prophet of Allah, the Exalted and the Most Merciful,

In addition to the previous relationship, between the apparel cover and esoteric dignity, the relation between the sign and the sign holder is also; that is, the apparent hijab is a sign of a certain stage of esoteric dignity with the owner of the veil. Of course, this does not mean that every woman who wears a veil and a cover is necessarily of all levels of chastity.

Is hijab an obstacle to all social delinquency?

img / daneshnameh_up / 8/87 / hijab1.gifGiven this point of view, the answer to these forms and the doubts of those who, for the ineffectiveness of revealing the veil and the apparent cover, is to blame the offenses of some women with hijab, because the problem of these women, the weakness in the inner veil And the lack of strong faith and belief in the positive effects of hijab and apparent cover and has passed since the Islamic veil has a wide dimension, and one of its most important dimensions is the inner and inner veil of the person who faces sin and corruption , It enjoys inner convictions and faith; and, essentially, this veil of mind and ideology, as a foundation stone for other veils, including hijab and p It is apparent, because human thoughts and ideas form their behaviors.
Of course, just as hijab and overlays do not necessarily mean all chaos, chastity can not be imagined without observing the apparent cover. One can not deny a woman or a man who appears naked or half naked in public, because we said that the apparent cover is one of the signs and symbols of chastity, and between the amount of chastity and veil, the relationship of influence and affection There is mutual. Some consider the relationship of chastity and veil to be a kind of relationship between root and fruit; the veil, the fruit of chastity, and chastity are the roots of veil. Some people may have apparent veils, but they have not created extraneous chastity. This hijab is the only shell and appearance. On the other hand, people claim to be chastity, and they say, "I have a heart-warming heart, God works with hearts," they entertain themselves; such humans must, in their minds, have to point to the essential thing that is within the pure, external It will cleanse and never purify the heart, it will not induce the fruitless fruit of the wilderness.

The center responded to the district's doubts;

Is the hijab only in the tent of women? / Hijab types of women and men

مرکز ملی پاسخگویی به سوالات دینی
News ID: 3723495 - Thursday, August 7, 1395 - 12:27
Is the woman wearing a tent to veil?Hijab is just in the tent of women? When a woman tents, all the problems that are related to hijab issues are solved? How many veils are there?

The Answering Department of Qom Religious Belief has responded to the questionsabout the veil and chastity of women and men, which follows.

Hijab Types :

1. Eyeliner

He looks at the heart, he captures the scenes around and sends it to heart, the heart focuses on that image and takes on different modes, if stimulant scenes are sent to the heart, he will also come to this scene all Mobilizes the body and extinguishes the human intellect and prevents its warning activities, and takes man into great sins. Because of this, it is important that God commands men and women to wear a veil of eyes and say in the holy Quran. :

Let the believers in the believer sink their eyes from the eyes of the unworthy ... And say to the women with faith, take their eyes from Crazy look down .

"The above verse does not say believers should close their eyes, but they say they should narrow their eyes, and this is a subtle interpretation, so that if a person really wants to close his eye completely when faced with an unnamed woman, Walking and so on can not be for him, but if he takes a look from his face and limbs and lowers his eyes, he seems to have diminished his eyes and eliminated the scene that is forbidden from his area of vision. " (1) that this action causes the heart to survive gunshot evil thoughts as the Prophet says, looking at the passers one of t By poison devil, everyone is afraid to leave God, God will give him the sweetness of faith find it in his heart. "(2)

Walking veil :

The type of walking is very important, some with a state of pride go on the earth, some with modesty, and some with a cute and corrosive and stimulating step, therefore, the religion of Islam which attaches particular importance to the mental and psychological well-being of the community. Women are advised that they will be so precise and rigorous that they can ignite the inclination of passion into the hearts of men and may lead to deviations from the road, so that they will not even hear the sound of an altar in their hearts in the hands of foreign men. , Allah says in the Holy Quran :

" And when we walk in our hearts, we will not let our foolish foolish [Light / 31] go down their legs when they walk, so that their adornment is concealed, and the sound of the Ankles that they are standing on will hear ."

3. Hijab in speech and sound :

The tone of a person's voice varies in different ways, sometimes the tone of voice causes anger on the other side, sometimes it can calm down and sometimes it can stimulate and degenerate his sexual powers, among which the tone of women's voice It is more intimidating the audience, so that with the slightest change in the way of speaking evil thoughts to the mind of the audience and brings him to the senses with the speaker, God will pay attention to this sensitive and delicate matter and order women Take care of their tone and say :

" Falla Poor Fatmah al-Zaqi Fat Qalah and Golna Farshad [parties / 32] So do not talk in such a way that the sick are greeted in you, and say good words ."

Hijab for makeup and perfume use :

God is beautiful and loves beauty, God loves his slaves to dress beautifully and make himself up, but arranging and decorating if he is in the presence of unbelievers is a divine prohibition, women have no right to make themselves up and wear them with provocations They should walk in the wrong hands, but if they want to make their own, they should only be for their husbands, and if they leave the house, they will cleanse the makeup or cover their unselfish eyes, and if they do not observe this law and will treat themselves to the unhappy makeup Allah will suffer a punishment, God's Messenger says :

" Whenever a woman, while dressed and scented, leaves her home and his wife pleases her with this act, she will be built for the wife at every step that she takes" (3).

Women can use their best perfume for their husbands, and they also use perfume for women who are unfaithful, but they do not have to use perfume when they want to walk through the street from the inhospitable place, and this does not mean that the woman Bad odor appears on the street, but it can be odorless, that is, neither the smell of perfume nor the smell of sweat, but with its usual smell that does not attract any dinner, and if it smells its own woman and goes out of the house, it will suffer agony. Imam Sadiq (AS) will say :

"Any woman who becomes perfumed and aromatic and leaves her home is cursed by God and angels until she returns to her house." (4)

Hijab on Mystery:

Losing with each other is one that transfers the heat of love to one another, destroying grudge and hostility, and is confirmed in religion, and the Prophet says :

" Sharpen and hold your hand, because it would throw hatred and oppression." (5)

But in the meantime, it is necessary to observe the Muharram and the non-Islamic, that is, the redeemable person who is ordered to be of the same sex. If a person wants to give up the opposite sex, then he must be with him, blaming and losing with the unholy of the great sins That everyone should wear hijab in this case and avoid it, the Prophet says :

"A person who brings with her an unnamed woman will be brought to death on the Day of Resurrection and ordered to be cast into hell." (6)

Hijab in a joke and a joke with the nonhuman :

Hassan Khalq requires that humans and humans have their humor and temperament and try to always stylize flowers with smiley words and movements, and to develop humor in themselves, Imam Sadiq (as ) Said to one of his fellows:

"How do you joke with each other? He answered very little. Imam said: do not do this and do not leave the jokes because the jokes are a branch of the good people, and by doing so you enter happiness in the heart of your beloved brother and the Prophet (PBUH) joked with people to make them happy. " (7)

But in the humorous humor, there is also a veil, which is also against non-law, that is, man and woman are not entitled to joke with each other and have a state of humor, but they have to adhere to dignity and respect, and to say no to their laughs The prophet of Allah says : "A person who jokes with an unholy woman, for every word he spoke to, will be thrown into Hell for a thousand years" (8).

According to the aforementioned materials, we conclude that the veil is not just summarized in the tent, and it is an important example of the veil, and other types of eye control, walking, talking with non-honorable people, using perfumes and makeup, shaving And it's a joke that not observing any of these can be a way to mislead and guilty that women and men hope for in their everyday lives .

Eye veil

The first veil is the hijab of the eye, which is about both the woman and the man. With the difference, the limits to which the Qur'an and traditions have been determined for men is far greater. The Holy Quran says: "Qala Llmvmnyn Yaghzova I am the Vahfzvah Foorjom Dolek أزكي لهم إن الله خبير بما يصنعون وقل للمؤمنات يغضض من من أبسارهن» [1] "Say to the believers that their eyes (from the viewpoint of the unbelievers) are drowned and their chastity is preserved; this is safer for them; God knows what you are doing! And tell women faithfully, they will throw down their eyes (from a cuddly look). "

Qa'm's commentary has been narrated as follows:'Abbi 'Abdullah Qal: "The whole verse of Al-Quran is due to the fact that I am the one who despises Allah[2] "Every verse that says in the Quran speaking about the maintenance of the parachute is the purpose of keeping away from adultery except for this verse, which is to keep it from the eyes of others."

>

According to the verse, the Quran has forbidden the eyes, but the affirmation of the Quranic verses has emphasized this on men, since the impact of a man from a woman's point of view is much greater than that of a woman from the man's point of view . Considering this after the veil, if you have a good cover, tent is your head, but do not observe the look of the holy Quran, you have not followed the full hijab. [3] .

The Prophet (pbuh) Ali (pbuh) says: "Lysi fi lbden Shi al-Shakra i al-iin al-Falat al-'Allah Farsi" [4] "Among the members of the body, there is no more greedy and nobody of the eye, so be careful, do not give him what he wants to stop you from remembering God."

They have mutual responsibilities. Quran orders women to have hijab and men to lower their gaze. Men dont have to cover their hair because a man whose hair is uncovered doesnt seem attractive to women.

Women are much different from men. Due to their different creation, men and women have different responsibilities. For example, men have to work to support their families but women dont have to do it. Or another example is jihad (to fight in the fields) which is not wajib for women.

If you dont like the way you look when you cover your hair then just change your scarf. There are many different styles; you may like some of them.

I don't know, it is something that Allah سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى did not made obligatory for man. Mans have their own laws and so do the Womans.

Is i not unfair? Is Allah suggesting women should cover their hair, just because men can't control their gaze or desires
