Will we evolve to adapt to life in space?

"So Stephen Hawking says we'll need to get off-planet within 100 years. He may be right, or not. We may live on Mars or the moon, or not. Either way, space is physically tough on humans. Will we biologically evolve?"

It is possible, we don't all need to go to space. Just send some people into space and leave the rest of us to fix the Earth.

Humans probably would biologically evolve if on the moon for a while.

I personally wouldn't live in space. We are living on the blessed Earth in which Rasuls (messengers), nabis (prophets), imams, and divinely guided servants of Allah walked on! Why leave it and its blessings to go settle on Space? Why abandon Imam Mahdi (a.j) to go explore, while Earth still needs to be worked on? I also do not trust Stephen Hawking, he has displayed his ignorance several times.

Where in space would you live other than Earth? Their is no habitable planet in our solar system, and it would take hundreds of year with our current technology to terraform Mars or any other planet to be habitable like Earth.

It would have to be on a station or under a dome of some kind. Obviously we need atmosphere, food, water, and terraforming an entire planet or moon or asteroid isn't really feasible. With current technology it would be very difficult if not impossible for settlements to be self sustaining. Self sustaining off world settlements is what will protect humanity from, say, asteroid impacts, but if they're evolved to live on that planet or satellite, are they still human?

Just now, Gaius I. Caesar said:

Yes, very much so, an evolutionary divergence between humans on earth versus humans in space wouldnt happen for thousands and thousands of years.

But maybe no extinction event will occur on Earth for thousands and thousands of years. I think if they've diverged so far that they can't return, they're not really of the Earth anymore. Until then, they could be.

Salam,

I'm of the opinion that we should fix this earth. We won't need to leave this place for thousands of years if we do.

Well, this will be easier than fixing people.

if we dont fix ourselves it will be useless earth can fix himself but it is not fast but we destroy the earth very fast or other planet that we will go.

l know from reading this past Summer that there are plastic eating bacteria --like oil eaters.

Then Wednesday the 22nd a news report was saying that half of oceanic plastic comes from East Asia.

We human beings are open systems, we need continuous interaction with environment to survive. The environment of space is not suitable for us, hence it seems impossible that we would evolve such organs which help us to survive up there. We are built to live on earth, that is the truth, we must remember that fact. And we should also remember the fact that everything has a fate, including this whole universe. So if we start planning to leave earth now, we would need to plan to leave the milky way galaxy afterwards....
