In the Name of Allah, The Most Beneficent and The Most Merciful of all those who are Merciful.

Salamun Alaykum warahmatuLLah..

I had a question. Since we the followers of Twelver school of thought believe that Tarawih which was started by someone whom you all know is a Bida and reciting it is a sin.

But is listening to a Reciter, reading Quran in Tarawih just on Youtube allowed (Not in Ramadan, anytime)?

Shia do not follow the tarawih in Ramzan as it is considered innovation by 2nd caliph.

Listen the recitation of Quran cannot be considered bidda or innovation whether the video or clips are showing some one reciting Quran in taraweeh.

Certainly the act of performing prayer of tarwaeeh is not the same action as that of recitation of the Quran alone even made by some one in video of  taraweeh.

I asked one of the Ulema just now and he said - listening of quran has no restriction either from Trawih reciter or from Saudis imam of Haram .

But taking part in any Bid'a is not allowed. Also taking part in Tarawih while with the intention of listening Quran will strengthen that bid,a.

Does it mean that listening the Quran from video of Traweeh is also taking part in that bidaa?

Dude, even my Sunni SO says Tarawih is Bidah.

That’s why he never performs tarawih prayer in ramadan.

Sunnis have a concept of Good Bida and Bad Bida. They consider good Bidah as practicable and rewarding. Tarawih is one of them.
