And He revealed to His servant what He revealed. (53:10)

The only place in Quran where a revelation is kept secret by Allah. What is that revelation?

I also see a verse of Quran where Allah is commanding the Prophet to deliver that which has been revealed:

O Messenger! deliver what has been revealed to you from your Lord; and if you do it not, then you have not delivered His message, and Allah will protect you from the people; surely Allah will not guide the unbelieving people. (5:67)

Imam Jafar bin Muhammad as Sadiq said:

"It was in this state the command relating to wilayah or imamah with finality was revealed to the Holy Prophet."

Can anyone give me the reference of this hadith and share with me more ahadith explaining verse 53:10 & 5:67?

I may look it in a bit different way. Thats been given below:

Have you not seen those who assert that they believe in what has been revealed to you and what was revealed before you? They desire to summon one another to the judgment of the Shaitan, though they were commanded to deny him, and the Shaitan desires to lead them astray into a remote error. (4:60)

And who believe in that which has been revealed to you and that which was revealed before you and they are sure of the hereafter. (2:5)

But the firm in knowledge among them and the believers believe in what has been revealed to. you and what was revealed before you, and those who keep up prayers and those who give the poor-rate and the believers in Allah and the last day, these it is whom We will give a mighty reward. (4:162)

But Allah bears witness by what He has revealed to you that He has revealed it with His knowledge, and the angels bear witness (also); and Allah is sufficient as a witness. (4:166)

And the Jews say: The hand of Allah is tied up! Their hands shall be shackled and they shall be cursed for what they say. Nay, both His hands are spread out, He expends as He pleases; and what has been revealed to you from your Lord will certainly make many of them increase in inordinacy and unbelief; and We have put enmity and hatred among them till the day of resurrection; whenever they kindle a fire for war Allah puts it out, and they strive to make mischief in the land; and Allah does not love the mischief-makers. (5:64)

Say: O followers of the Book! you follow no good till you keep up the Taurat and the Injeel and that which is revealed to you from your Lord; and surely that which has been revealed to you from your Lord shall make many of them increase in inordinacy and unbelief; grieve not therefore for the unbelieving people. (5:68)

A Book revealed to you-- so let there be no straitness in your breast on account of it-- that you may warn thereby, and a reminder close to the believers. (7:02)

Alif Lam Mim Ra. These are the verses of the Book; and that which is revealed to you from your Lord is the truth, but most people do not believe. (13:01)

Is he then who knows that what has been revealed to you from your Lord is the truth like him who is blind? Only those possessed of understanding will mind, (13:9)

And those to whom We have given the Book rejoice in that which has been revealed to you, and of the confederates are some who deny a part of it. Say: I am only commanded that I should serve Allah and not associate anything with Him, to Him do I invite (you) and to Him is my return. (13:36)

And those to whom the knowledge has been given see that which has been revealed to you from your Lord, that is the truth, and it guides into the path of the Mighty, the Praised. (34:6)

O Messenger! deliver what has been revealed to you from your Lord; and if you do it not, then you have not delivered His message, and Allah will protect you from the people; surely Allah will not guide the unbelieving people. (5:67)

I have found these 12 verses where this words ٓ أُنزِلَ إِلَيْكَ have been used.

That shows not only for Ghadeer but for 12 imams these have been addressed in Quran. The evidence comes from  its placement, the verse of Wilaya  ie 5;55 describe the Wali for us. ie:

إِنَّمَا وَلِيُّكُمُ ٱللَّهُ وَرَسُولُهُۥ وَٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ ٱلَّذِينَ يُقِيمُونَ ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ وَيُؤْتُونَ ٱلزَّكَوٰةَ وَهُمْ رَٰكِعُونَ {٥٥}

005:055 Your guardian is only Allah, His Messenger, and the faithful who maintain the prayer and give the zakat while bowing down.

Both are the verses of Sura  Al-Maeda. Fisrt one placed at sr no 55 and the other at sr no 67. The difference between the two (67-55) = 12. I consider it evidence possibly for the 12 imams . Also the last point i like to quote if we go check the verse no 12 of Sura Al Maeda as given below:

۞ وَلَقَدْ أَخَذَ ٱللَّهُ مِيثَٰقَ بَنِىٓ إِسْرَٰٓءِيلَ وَبَعَثْنَا مِنْهُمُ ٱثْنَىْ عَشَرَ نَقِيبًۭا ۖ وَقَالَ ٱللَّهُ إِنِّى مَعَكُمْ ۖ لَئِنْ أَقَمْتُمُ ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ وَءَاتَيْتُمُ ٱلزَّكَوٰةَ وَءَامَنتُم بِرُسُلِى وَعَزَّرْتُمُوهُمْ وَأَقْرَضْتُمُ ٱللَّهَ قَرْضًا حَسَنًۭا لَّأُكَفِّرَنَّ عَنكُمْ سَيِّـَٔاتِكُمْ وَلَأُدْخِلَنَّكُمْ جَنَّٰتٍۢ تَجْرِى مِن تَحْتِهَا ٱلْأَنْهَٰرُ ۚ فَمَن كَفَرَ بَعْدَ ذَٰلِكَ مِنكُمْ فَقَدْ ضَلَّ سَوَآءَ ٱلسَّبِيلِ {١٢}

005:012 Certainly Allah took a pledge from the Children of Israel, and We raised among them twelve chiefs. And Allah said, ‘I am with you! Surely, if you maintain the prayer and give the zakat and have faith in My Messengers and support them and lend Allah a good loan, I will surely absolve you of your misdeeds, and I will surely admit you into gardens with streams running in them. But whoever of you disbelieves after that has certainly strayed from the right way.’

I just conclude:

1.    Then do they not reflect upon the Qur'an? If it had been from [any] other than Allah , they would have found within it much contradiction. (4:82)

2.     [This is] a blessed Book which We have revealed to you, [O Muhammad], that they might reflect upon its verses and that those of understanding would be reminded. (38:29)

3.    That is [deserved by them] because Allah has sent down the Book in truth. And indeed, those who differ over the Book are in extreme dissension.(2:176)

Quote
فَإِذَا فَرَغْتَ فَانْصَبْ {7}

[Shakir 94:7] So when you are free, nominate.
[Pickthal 94:7] So when thou art relieved, still toil
[Yusufali 94:7] Therefore, when thou art free (from thine immediate task), still labour hard,
[Pooya/Ali Commentary 94:7]

Through verse 7 the Holy Prophet is asked to establish imamah or wilayah of Ali ibn abi Talib when he completes the duties of conveying the divine guidance to mankind, so as to continue it forever as stated in the commentary of verse 51 of Qasas; also refer to the commentary of verses 2 and 3 of this surah and other references mentioned therein. In verse 67 of Ma-idah Allah reminds the Holy Prophet: "Deliver what has been sent down to you from your Lord"; which in fact refers to this verse. Refer to the commentary of Ali Imran: 52 and 53; Ma-idah: 67 and 3 to understand the true interpretation of this verse.

Aqa Mahdi Puya says:

In the light of the meanings of surah ad Duha and al Inshirah no other translation or interpretation of verse 7 seems appropriate except "So when you have completed (the duties of your ministry), then establish (your successorship)." In this early Makkan surah, after referring to the weighty task of conveying the last guidance from Allah to mankind, the Holy Prophet is asked to keep in mind the equally important task of establishing the institution of keeping alive the purity of the divine guidance (Islam) in all ages which will have to be carried out at the time and place chosen by Allah. The equally weighty or important task is the establishment, continuation and perpetuation of the guidance of Allah (see commentary of Qasas: 51, by nominating and appointing his successor who shall act as a guardian and exponent of all that he has conveyed and preached. In al Ma-idah, last revealed surah, verse 67 was revealed in the closing days of his ministry, after execution of which its verse 3 was revealed (see commentary of both verses). After completing the tasks of preaching and establishing his successorship he is given the option to return to his Lord with satisfaction of having fulfilled the divine command.

In verse 8 Allah expresses His will that the Holy Prophet should return to his Lord after carrying out His commands. There is no mention of death. He is advised to desire, wish or incline (raghb) to turn to Allah at his own choice and pleasure. Departure from this world was a willing return.

وَإِلَىٰ رَبِّكَ فَارْغَبْ {8}

[Shakir 94:8] And make your Lord your exclusive object.
[Pickthal 94:8] And strive to please thy Lord.
[Yusufali 94:8] And to thy Lord turn (all) thy attention.

"It was in this state the command relating to wilayah or imamah with finality was revealed to the Holy Prophet."
Can anyone give me the reference of this hadith and share with me more ahadith explaining verse 53:10 & 5:67?

H 760, Ch. 64, h 4
Ali ibn Ibrahim from his father from Ibn Abu 'Umayr from 'Umar ibn Udhaynah from
Zurarah and Fudayl ibn Yasar and Bukayr ibn A'yan and Muhammad ibn Muslim and Burayd
ibn Muiawiyah and Abu '1- Jarud, together, that Abu Ja'far (p.b.u.h.) said:
"Allah, to Whom belong Might and Majesty, charged His Messenger with the Mastership of
Ali, and sent down to him: Your Master is only Alldh, and His Messenger and those who believe who perform the prayer and pay zakat. He decreed the Mastership of those in authority, although they (the people) did not understand what it was. Allah command Muhammad (p.b.u.h.a.h.p.) to interpret (and explain) Mastership for them as he had interpreted (and explained) prayer, zakat, fasting and hajj. When this came to him from Allah, the mind of the Messenger of Allah (p.b.u.h.ah.p.) became straitened by it and he became afraid lest they (the people) abandon their religion and come to deny it. So his mind was staitened and he consulted with his Lord, to Whom belong Might and Majesty; and Allah to Whom belong Might and Majesty revealed to him: O Messenger, deliver that which has been sent down to thee from thy Lord; for if thou cost not, thou wig not have delivered His Message. Allah will protect thee from men (al-Ma'idah, 5:67). He complied with the command of Allah, may remembrance of Him be exlated, and endorsed the Mastership of Ali on the day of Ghadir Khumm. He convened the communal prayer, and he commanded the people that those who were witnesses should inform those who were absent."—'Umar ibn Udhaynah said: `Ali but Abu'l-Jarudsaid: 'Abu Ja'far (p.b.uh.) said: "One divine precept came down after another, and the Mastership was the last divine ordinance. And Allah, to Whom belong Might and Majesty, sent down: Today I have completed your religion for you, and I have perfected My blessing upon you ( al-Matidah, 5 :3 )." Abu Ja' far (p.b.uh. ) said: "Allah, to Whom belong Might and Majesty, said: 'I shall not send down (any ordinance) to you after this ordinance: I have completed the divine ordinances for you.' " '

H 762, Ch. 64, h 6
Muhammad ibn Yahya from Ahmad ibn Muhammad and Muh. ammad ibn al-Husayn, the two together from Muhammad ibn Isma'il ibn Bazi' from Mansur ibn Yunus that Abu 'I-Jarud said:
"I heard Abu Ja'far (p.b.u.h.) say: Aliah, to Whom belong Might and Majesty, made five things incumbent on (his) servants: they accepted four and rejected one......................

Then the Messenger of Allah (pb.uh.ah.p.) said together with this (verse): "My community has recently experienced the jahiliyyah (the period of ignorance before Islam), and whenever I inform them of this concerning my cousin, one speaker will say this and another will say that. I say (this) to myself without my tongue speaking out: a decisive obligation came to me from Allah, to Whom belong Might and Majesty, with finality; He threatened me that if I did not make (this) reach (the people), He would punish me." Then was sent down: O Messenger, deliver that which has been sent down to thee from thy Lord; for if thou cost not, thou wilt not have delivered His Message. Allah will protect thee from men. Allah guides not the people of the unbelievers (al-Matidah, S :67). Then the Messenger of Allah (p.b.uh.a.h.p.) took the hand of Ali (pb.uh.) and said: "O people, there was no prophet among the prophets who were before me to whom Allah did not grant a span of life, then tie called him and he answered Him. The time is now near when I shall be called and I will answer. I shall be questioned and you will be questioned, and what will you say?" They said: "We bear witness that you have delivered (what you had to deliver) and advised sincerely, and conveyed what you had. May Allah reward you with the best of the rewards of those who were messengers." He said: "O Allah, I call you to witness"—three times —then he said: "O assembly of believers, that this man is your Master (wall) after me. Let the one among you who witnesses this convey (what he has seen) to the one who is absent." ' Abu Ja'far (p.b.u.h.)said: 'By Allah, (Ali—p.b.u.h.) was the one trusted by Allah over His creation, His unseen (commands), and His religion which He Himself accepted (for His creatures). Then came to the Messenger of Allah (p.b.uh.ah.p.) that which came (his death), and he called Ali and said:
"O Ali, I wish to entrust you with what Allah has entrusted me both of His unseen (commands) and of knowledge of llim, and of His creation and His religion which He Himself accepted (for ITis creatures)."' (Abu Ja'far—p.b.u.h.—said:)
'By Allah, O Ziyad, (ibn Mundhir Abu 'I-Jarud), he (the Prophet—p.b.u.h.a.h.p.) has not given any share in this to anyone.

Another tradition is also worthy of note in this vein according to which ‘Ayyashi narrates from Imam Baqir (as) that upon being asked regarding the Divinely revealed Verse:

"Then He revealed unto His servant what He revealed,"

the Noble Prophet (S) replied:

"It was revealed unto me that ‘Ali (as) is the master of the believers, the Imam of the God fearing, the most brilliant of the honorable, and the first successor to the Seal of the Prophets (S)."

Then people said:

"We believe in God and His Messenger (S)." 8

The blessed Verse eleven is saying that in imparting what he had seen of his Lord's Signs, the heart of Prophet Muhammad (S) did not lie.

I hope you forgive me for drifting a little from the topic.

Was there (or is there) a reason for Jibreel to be in certain altitude in the sky before he delivered the message? Just a thought.

  • When he was on the uppermost horizon (53:7)
  • Then he drew nigh and came down (53:8)
  • Till he was at two bows length or even nearer (53:9)
  • And He revealed unto His slave that which He revealed (53:10)

53:7 is mentioning Jibra'il or Prophet Muhammad (pbuh)?
