Surah An-Nisa, Verse 59:

O you who believe! obey Allah and obey the Apostle and those in authority from among you; then if you quarrel about anything, refer it to Allah and the Apostle, if you believe in Allah and the last day; this is better and very good in the end.

(English - Shakir)

This clear verse informs us to whom we obey. There is no dispute in obeying Allah & Prophet among Muslims. But there is a dispute on "ulil amr" among Muslims.

Despite of the fact that Allah has made everything clear in Quran, Muslims continue to divide on the matter of Ulil Amr.

Lets see some verses of Quran which commands us to whom we should not obey:

68:10

Kafir, Munafiq, Mukaththibeen, Hallafin Maheen, all are removed. And finally, the verse below:

76:24

Sinners are also removed. Whom should we obey then? Is it getting difficult for Muslims to unite on Ahlul Bayt (a.s)? They are the Ulil Amr, certified truthful (Sadiqeen) as per Quran, the purified & protected ones.

It is so easy to reach to the fact. May Allah guide us all & grant us the toufeeq to worship Him & obey the Ahlul Bayt (a.s)

Nice analysis and conclusion. I like to add the verses for this analysis to further strengthen this view in the light of Quran:

004:058 Indeed Allah commands you to deliver the trusts to their [rightful] owners, and to judge with fairness when you judge between people. Excellent indeed is what Allah advises you. Indeed Allah is all-hearing, all-seeing.

007:054 Indeed your Lord is Allah, who created the heavens and the earth in six days, and then settled on the Throne. He draws the nights cover over the day, which pursues it swiftly, and [He created] the sun, the moon, and the stars, [all of them] disposed by His command. Look! All creation and command belong to Him. Blessed is Allah, the Lord of all the worlds.

Only the prophet or Ulil Amr can bring change in the system of sun, moon and stars with the permission of Allah swt.

033:036 A faithful man or woman may not have any option in their matter, when Allah and His Messenger have decided on a matter, and whoever disobeys Allah and His Messenger has certainly strayed into manifest error.

The prophet has decided the matter then believer should follow it and the Ulil Amr should also be obeyed similarly without any own intentions.

From the examples of past nations:

011:059 Such were [the people of] Ad: they impugned the signs of their Lord and disobeyed His Messengers, and followed the dictates of every obstinate tyrant.

045:017 and We gave them manifest precepts. But they did not differ except after knowledge had come to them, out of envy among themselves. Indeed your Lord will judge between them on the Day of Resurrection concerning that about which they used to differ.

011:097 to Pharaoh and his elite, but they followed Pharaohs dictates, and Pharaohs dictates were not right-minded.

The people followed the tyrant and pharoah who were not chosen by the command of Allah swt and their commands were not right.

007:103 Then after them We sent Moses with Our signs to Pharaoh and his elite, but they wronged them. So observe how was the fate of the agents of corruption!

010:075 Then, after them, We sent Moses and Aaron to Pharaoh and his elite with Our signs, but they acted arrogantly and they were a guilty lot.

020:079 Pharaoh led his people astray and did not guide them.

002:050 And when We parted the sea with you, and We delivered you and drowned Pharaohs clan as you looked on.

029:039 And Korah, Pharaoh, and Haman. Certainly, Moses brought them manifest proofs, but they acted arrogantly in the land; though they could not outmaneuver

[Allah].010:075 Then, after them, We sent Moses and Aaron to Pharaoh and his elite with Our signs, but they acted arrogantly and they were a guilty lot.

The quran mentions to follow the prophet saww (Fa,tabuni):

قُلْ إِن كُنتُمْ تُحِبُّونَ ٱللَّهَ فَٱتَّبِعُونِى يُحْبِبْكُمُ ٱللَّهُ وَيَغْفِرْ لَكُمْ ذُنُوبَكُمْ ۗ وَٱللَّهُ غَفُورٌۭ رَّحِيمٌۭ {٣١}

003:031 Say, If you love Allah, then follow me; Allah will love you and forgive you your sins, and Allah is all-forgiving, all-merciful.

The word (Fatubini) has been used the second and the last time at  other place as given below:

020:090 Aaron had certainly told them earlier, ‘O my people! You are only being tested by it. Indeed your Lord is the All-beneficent. So follow me and obey my command!’

So the above clarifies that Harun is Ulil Amr in the absence of the prophet Musa:

023:045 Then We sent Moses and Aaron, his brother, with Our signs and a manifest authority

028:035 He said, We will strengthen your arm by means of your brother, and invest both of you with such authority that they will not touch you. With the help of Our signs, you two, and those who follow the two of you, shall be the victors.

Form the same Quran the Ghalibun / victorious are mentioned in the following verses:

إِنَّمَا وَلِيُّكُمُ ٱللَّهُ وَرَسُولُهُۥ وَٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ ٱلَّذِينَ يُقِيمُونَ ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ وَيُؤْتُونَ ٱلزَّكَوٰةَ وَهُمْ رَٰكِعُونَ {٥٥}

005:055 Your guardian is only Allah, His Messenger, and the faithful who maintain the prayer and give the zakat while bowing down.

005:056 Whoever takes for his guardians Allah, His Messenger and the faithful [should know that] the confederates of Allah are indeed the victorious.

    • It is not just information (khabar), it is knowledge. How this knowledge relates to deeds can be understood with the help of these verses: Surah Ar-Room, Verse 7:
They know the outward of this world's life, but of the hereafter they are absolutely heedless.
      (English - Shakir) Surah Ar-Room, Verse 8:
Do they not reflect within themselves: Allah did not create the heavens and the earth and what is between them two but with truth, and (for) an appointed term? And most surely most of the people are deniers of the meeting of their Lord.
