A part of me really wants to learn how to cook. The other part is too lazy to try.

Gawd ... inshallah ... l truly hope you do not "cook" as my mother did.  :tongueangry: "Sickening".

Maybe this is why my little sister is a  cook.  :eat:

It's not often you see someone hating on their mum's cooking. Yikes!

My grandmother is a lovely woman and a talented painter but I'm certain she must be a worse cook than your mother. Maybe our tastes have changed and that is what people liked back then.

My mom cooks ok, but she doesn't use any spices or seasonings at all. My stepdad cooks like a chef.

When I say "cook like a mom" I mean I can economically prepare basic ingredients in such a way that a large family with diverse preferences all find it generally acceptable but rarely outstanding. We are all satisfied, but going out is still a treat.

Get this book and just follow the directions. Every recipe is easy and acceptable as written.

@hasanhh I follow this page on Facebook, yesterday I watched a video and it made me think of you. You should check it out, you know for the times when sis isn't cooking. Healthy, frugal and easy meals :eat: I  have never tried any of the recipes but they don't seem bad.

Answering the poll:Yes I can cook, not restaurant quality stuff but no one had ended up in hospital either. Lolz

I don't know how I should answer if yes, I can cook if I follow a recipe, but no, I generally cannot pull a meal together by myself with no outside help or instructions.

Do what l do. Go microwave.

l do know how to "cook" a little.

l invited my little sister over and she said the food was "so, so".

She also said l should have taken the food out of the dividers and put it on a plate.

Here is a share:

Go to smile.amazon.com and search for the book HOW TO COOK EVERYTHING: THE BASICS. Click on the "Look Inside" icon and the preview pages show how to set up a pantry, tools you might need to buy, some lessons and techniques. I got hungry looking at the Index of recipes. :D

Cooking is fun if you have all the ingredients.

Now this is what makes cooking a mystery to me.  What ingredients do you use?

According to the bottle, for example, sage is for poultry.

Similarly, steak sauce most certainly goes on beef, so l pour some on my hamburger patty before l cook it.

But when l Iook at a spice racket lt is a bIurr.

Use recipes. Just follow the directions precisely. Improvisation is only for people who are either naturally talented, or are willing to risk failure, or have enough experience to know what works with what.

So you say you're not good at following directions. I suggest this, then:

    • I've heard people theorizing that sabotage is a possibility, given the notorious nature of this specific pipeline. Thoughts?
    • It would not be difficult to come up with better pipe, fitting, and support designs, provide better installation, and especially provide better maintenance, and I'm sure a system could be designed to automatically detect leaks and cut off the flow when a leak is detected, reducing the damage caused by catastrophic leaks. But all this costs money, and those owners aren't going to pay unless it is mandated by law. It's cheaper to just lose some product and clean up a mess once in a while.
    • Which is already ten times what Obama's State Department predicted for estimated spillage amounts over two years.  They say hindsight is always 20/20.
    • There was this Aqeeq ring I used to wear all the time with this horrible purple beaded watch. I lost the (unfortunate) duo some time ago.  I now just wear a simple swarovski necklace, gifted to me from a dear friend of mine, and a watch.
    • Asalamualaikum, im a Muslim girl born in Australia. I’m 17 and will be turning 18 soon. I have less than over a year left of high school and I will hopefully move to university. The closest university is 7 hours from where I live and I’m really excited about moving away from my family because they’re really strict, and my dad is abusive and really suspicious and panariod. My parents are so strict I’m not allowed to smile in public because that’s considered haram! Now, they’re saying that they will sell everything and move with me because it’s not right for a Muslim girl to move out of her parents house, but they’re fine if my brother moves out because this shows "he’s becoming a man." I really want to gain my independence but they won’t let me. I can’t do anything. I can’t even dye my hair -even though I wear a hijab- until I get married. Literally everything I ask, they say "until you get married." But I don’t want to be trapped under my dad's control, then a husband's control all my life. I want to break free. I’m religious and would NEVER even consider relationships or doing anything wrong. I just want some space away from the constant abuse and to breathe for a little while.  I want to move out after a year without my parents following me. How do I get them to agree? Is there any rulings that could support me in making them agree? Should I just go live in an accommodation with a few other girls and ignore my parents even if they move with me?
