poem...From the least popular girl to the most....

Recommended Posts

i'm a naqvi , youre a kodiri

youre tajik, and i am pak

but girl cut me some slack

cuz i have been thinking of you again

wishing i could have spoken more to you

not being afraid of ya

of what youll think of me

of what others would think of me

i wish i was cool enough to be your friend

things confessed , enough to be stressed

i really wish the best

for you....

and i was always curious about you as a person

maybe thats cuz you were beautiful

and you prob had admirers plentiful

you were gorgeous from every way

trust me when i say

that it gave me a whole new perspective

on someone being tajik

her hair was styled perfectly with braids in the front

she was tall, masha'Allah, a great slender body,

and her eyes were precious of all

Allah had blessed her immensely with beauty and charm

she was a magnet and when she spoke, people became silent

she was like a talent,

Yeah she was most popular, the most popular

girl in my school

and i was the least popular

in my class at least,

i dont know why i fixated on her

but you know how people are around a famous person

theyre like a celebrity, that you want to know everything about

and relate yourself, and remove your own self doubts

Scared to call her nushie( her nickname) thinking it was special

only for her friends, only for her friend

how i wish i could be her friend

how i wished so bad i could been one of them

never to be, never to say

not knowing how id react if i meet another tajik anyway.(lol yeahhh)

but there was special about this girl

her state of mind would always seem like its thinking

something deep, something personal maybe?

what could it be nushie, tell me

i still remeber the things id overhear her talk about

stored in my mind like cherished memories

things about her parents, her life, what she wanted to be

the cute guy shed see on the street, how much she loved kids

and put her in a room full of them shed always be satisfied

thats my nushie , id say with pride

and i eyed, as she'd come across the room, as she'd glide

and i sighed over the perfection of what Allah created

but i think i overdid it, because i get a feeling

it might be something she'd hated

,she was cool, she was so cool

and id feel like this fool,

that could never get through.

words from the least popular girl to the most

why did you move away from my life

disappeared like a ghost

while id searched for traces of you the most

needed to let go, concentrated on things of my life since then

but for some reason

coming across you again

i think of how i could have spent my time more wisely

words unsaid ,unspoken, unheard

now youre into other poets like Sarah kay,her words

youre also in a rotaract club

thats nice that nice, you know i checked out the music you listen to

trying to see what youre into

and wanting to relate more to you

but youre a different soul

that other people probably run after

 i guess its a disaster

if youre the popular chick everyones after

i tried adding you again, on facebook on insta,

ignored my requests, angry id spam ya

why after all these years dont you care, dont you remember me

im that girl, the naqvi, and youre just a kodiri...

now im trying to get your friends to ask ya

add me so i can see what cha

look like after all these years,

have you changed, have you stayed the same

in certain retrospects if its true

are you feeling blue, or youve gotten used to having the world move on without you

who are you, who are you, the questions id ask

who are you, who are youuuu,

i wanted an answer fast

come on nushie, let me in your world,

i need to know this girl

who dazzled my senses, and cant let go of in my mind

try to see it my way, try to see if you can find

a piece of yourself in me

letters from a naqvi to a kodiri......

Hey girl, is life everything you wanted it to be

Why did you walk away from me

I mean I wanted to be close to you

But you said good bye without saying good bye

And it makes me cry

Why is the world the way it has to be

I feel so sick about the way we’re meant to be

So different so distant

Because I have to be one who cant seem to let go

The only one of us

Why

This poem is from the most popular girl to the least popular. :)

Paper Rings

They saw my smile and my body in the hallways,

thought that I was like that ring my father gave my mother before

he left her.

My fingers were trembling when I made the first cut in a place you wouldn't see,

somewhere where I'd forget, like how you felt.

I didn't overhear you say it, how alone everyone made you feel,

but I saw it from your tired eyes, because when I saw you

i saw the same eyes looking right at me,

when I was alone in the night, without makeup, without painted-on smiles, without the clothes

that covered my scars on my stomach like moth wings.

Only one girl knew of the incident,

and soon you knew it too, and it was like a dream you couldn't find your voice to scream,

or like your head trapped underwater before you could find the surface for air.

They saw my smile, and believed I was okay because I wanted them to believe it, and to you

I was just a paper body, lifeless, two-dimensional.  A toy in the shop for everyone

to oogle at, broken Barbie by the next week, with an arm missing. Killed in half by resentment and judgement

from the games we all used to play with our dollhouses, with our friends in tact.

They saw my smile, and I saw my own, painted with ashes of war zone

before they heard my scream, and you heard it too, in the cafeteria, when I became a nocturnal animal afraid of light,

From a breakdown you thought was when I didn't get what I wanted,

like every other girl who resembled me, painted-on the same face

so that you wouldn't know our reality for even a moment.

I overheard you saying that we don't understand, and must have thought I was a facade,

and when I saw your rare smile,

I envied how natural you looked, and knew you'd be a paper body if only you wanted it hard enough.

They always saw my smile, but after I saw yours, they saw my tears.

For one moment, you pulled it off.

Icarus Fell

To fly above the crash of waves

Rising higher than the Alays

That was my cherished dream

Before I perished under the summer gleam

Feathers frantically coming apart at the wax seams

From the heavens, snow white feathers fell by the reams

As I swelter and sweat under the sun's forbidding glare

For attempting what no man should foolishly dare

"My Patti"

  • So fair, thin, tall and cute.
  • Born on the rich side of town.
  • Your Daddy was the bank president.
  • I'm sure you had everything, right?

  • I was darker, shorter, and average.
  • Born on the poor side of town.
  • My Dad worked two jobs to survive.
  • We never had much, but I was happy.

  • Now that I'm married with children,
  • I enjoy thinking about my blessings.
  • I do without to make our expenses less.
  • It's good to be satisfied with what we have.

  • Patti, I had to think really, really hard
  • To remember your last name.
  • If you don't remember me,
  • That's fine. I hope you are well.

Yes, it's a true story. From your poem in the OP you mentioned 'my nushie' so I thought we have to tell a similar true story.  'My Patti' was about her, so I guess that her real name was Patricia but nobody ever called her that.

Blessed be your Lord! The Lord of Forgiveness and Strength!

It is He who follows the path of every creature!

Then which of the favors of your Lord will you deny?

He shall bring forth His army if He wills!

Then which of the favors of your Lord will you deny?

It is He, the Greatest, the Magnificent!

Then which of the favors of your Lord will you deny?

He has a dominion, which extends over the rivers!

Then which of the favors of your Lord will you deny?

He is with us and to Him we shall return!

Then which of the favors of your Lord will you deny?

    • Remove "knowledge" & "power" from the scene.
    • If you mean about Moses speaking to God (which I probably think this was the story, though never knew the bush was not consumed), then it was a miracle. A miracle is : An extraordinary and welcome event that is not explicable by natural or scientific laws and is therefore attributed to a divine agency. That is what we call "Tawaqqu' al-mustaqbal" predicting the future, and it is haram/Forbidden to do, and the nice thing is they mostly don't work, unless it was a "wild" guess, as some call it. Though the Prophet (sawa) once predicted future events more than 1 time, and all of them came true, you interested? Again, if the "angels"(which I think you mean) were to appear they wouldn't appear from their own will, God wants them to appear. Again, God is: the creator and ruler of the universe and source of all moral authority; the supreme being. So God can basically break the laws, which he himself created, when he wants, as they don't apply to him.   Though angels in Islam aren't the winged angels, they are some sort of "Spirits" of  unknown nature. The word "Mala'ika" means the "heavenly" ones, or the ones who always obey. So again not the winges creatures like the Christian/Jewish thoughts. Though they could possibly lift themselves through the means/ways of aerodynamics. Only God knows.   This one happened, I think it was by Imam Ali ibn Abi Talib (a), he basically puts the amputated part, on the other, and joins them together.  I have seen the name "Allah" once through a cloud, not sure if it is going to help though. Well, it is pretty hard to do so.
    • What? That's crazy. People who think like that need self esteem, not employment.
    • All the above activity,  but this( post below )  is not possible http://www.shiachat.com/forum/topic/235006908-sunnis-and-shias-can-we-just-unite/?page=11&tab=comments#comment-3098307 Your answer was I responded to you, "Seal of the Prophets, Prophet Muhammad al Mustafa, (peace be upon him and his pure progeny) the best of the creation, the best example to follow for you, the one who has more right on you then you yourself. Is off limits to your conversations? its a deal breaker. So, who's Sunnah are you using/ discussing/ following as a role model in formulating your plans for the Caliphate?  It seems like its a political meeting, for political power struggle.  ***** Above should be clear enough. Lets talk about, this notion of Social Unity, Political Unity, which is foreign to Islam. As Islam is not a personal relationship with Ones version of god. Its a way of like, which incorporates, individual, social, economic political aspects. So we do not have a concept of Social Unity, ot political Unity and lets leave the religion alone for now. This is a secular concept.  Your stated goals for the Social & Political unity is the Common enemy. This is a foreign playbook, that we do not follow. Obey Allah, and obey the messenger and those of you who are in authority; and if ye have a dispute concerning any matter, refer it to Allah and the messenger if ye are (in truth) believers in Allah and the Last Day. That is better and more seemly in the end. So, let come to the Messenger, and understand what is our true Religion. I mentioned it Page 4 of this Thread,we are at page 11. with a lot of distraction(s) in between. http://www.shiachat.com/forum/topic/235006908-sunnis-and-shias-can-we-just-unite/?page=4&tab=comments#comment-3097753 Read the post above the one posted here, on page 4.  Read and understand this, and review the life to see what was the Common enemy at that time, it was not a foreign enemy. Follow the Sunnah of the Truthful.  Abu Sa'íd al-Khudari reports that one day we were sitting waiting for the Prophet Muhammad (s.a.w.) to come out. He came to us while we saw that the strap of his shoe was broken; he gave it to 'Ali to repair. Then he said, "One of you will wage war for the interpretation (ta'wíl) of the Qur'an just as I waged war for its revelation (tanzíl)." Abu Bakr said, "Am I the one?" The Prophet said, "No." Then 'Umar said, "Am I the one?" The Prophet said, "No, but the one who is repairing the shoe."15 https://www.al-islam.org/shiism-imamate-and-wilayat-sayyid-muhammad-rizvi/knowledge-ahlul-bayt#6-concept-al-quran-natiq ***** You can have your plan an work it, try working with GCC and OPEC, if you ever succeed here, go for a Islamic Union.( social, political, economic, go for common currency) as a start. Fix the problem within, before going after the External Common enemy. Another thing, we did not have any such deals here , that "Seal of the Prophets, Prophet Muhammad al Mustafa, (peace be upon him and his pure progeny) the best of the creation, the best example to follow for you, the one who has more right on you then you yourself. Is off limits to our conversations? So, you have said you peace and given your plan, let us have an academic discussion.
