Salam

During zohrayn prayers offered bajamat there is no time to offer the nawafil of zohar and asar. As the zohar prayer starts right aftet the zohar azan and asar is offered after zohar. So how can one offer the nawafil of zohar and asar which are 8 rakat for each prayer.

Whats the ruling.

Same question goes for juma prayers.

Salam,

In a lot of the mosques, they recite a supplication between the prayers,  so you should be able to fit a couple of prayers in there - only recite al-Fatiha, do one tasbih for ruku' and sujud and qunut.

You can always pray the rest later.

772. There are many Mustahab prayers which are generally called Nafilah, but more stress has been laid on the daily Mustahab prayers. The number of the Rak'ats everyday excluding Friday, is 34. It is an follows:

8 Rak'ats Nafilah for Zuhr 8 Rak'ats Nafilah for Asr 4 Rak'ats Nafilah for Maghrib 2 Rak'ats Nafilah for Isha 11 Rak'ats Nafilah for Tahajjud (Namaz-e-Shab) 2 Rak'ats Nafilah for Fajr
As an obligatory precaution, the Nafilah for Isha prayers should be offered while sitting, and therefore its 2 Rak'ats are counted as one. But on Friday, 4 Rak'ats are added to the 16 Rak'ats of the Zuhr and the Asr Nafilah, and it is preferable that all these 20 Rak'ats are offered before the Zuhr sets in.

If you are attending the Jammat salat, and don't get time in between for nawafil, go ahead and do the nawafil later. Say you went to masjid during lunch break, have to rush back to work for a critical meeting etc., did Zuhr and Asr, and while on your way back, you are driving, you could do your nawafil, all 8 for Zuhr and then for Asr right in the car while driving.

The great thing about nawafil or sunnah salat (salat ul layl included), they can be offered while driving a car, sitting in the passenger seat, in a bus, train, or a plane, on a bike, walking etc. in however posture you are in without necessarily facing Qibla. For nawafil, it's preferable (not wajib) to say takbeer ahram (the first Allah o Akbar) facing towards Qibla, but that only if you can.

When it says for example that before zuhur salaat  8 Rakats, is it like 2x4 fajr type of salat?

Yes brother. In the religion of Prophet Muhammad S, you will rarely find a nafl or sunnah salat that is more than the multiple of 2 rakaa'.

As a general rule, whenever for sunnah or nafl salat it is said to pray X number of rakaat, it's always in the multiple of two (just like fajr).

Exactly, Dhuhr and Asr nawafil are four independent pairs. Isha's is counted as one independent rak'a (due to being sitting). Finally, doing all of them, you are doing 34+17, 51 rak'at. Indeed there id no problem in the case of dhuhr and asr nawafils being offered later due to the intention of praying in collective prayer. Even some prayers such as the night prayer can be offered as Qadha during fajr time if you had the intention to pray before hand (but you couldn't get up).

Imam Hasan al-Askari (peace be upon him) says, “[t]he signs of the believer are five: praying fifty-one Rak’at [including mandatory and optional prayers], Ziyarat al-Arba’een, wearing a ring in the right hand, prostration on dirt, and saying ‘Bismillah hir Rahman nir Raheem‘ in a raised voice.” (Wasa’il ush-Shi’a)
