I think you need to restrict new users from the chatroom. reinstate the 50 approved posts like before.

Agreed.

Even if it's not 50 but some amount of posts rather than new users being able to access chat straight away.

I think we need to have weekly updates of changes to stay on top of it and stay organised.

tagging in the dev team @Pearl178 @Gaius I. Caesar @baradar_jackson @von Lohengramm

I cant seem to tag in anymore than 4 people at once so I will tag other members in my next post.

as it stands my understanding of change suggestions are:

- increasing length of text in chat
- "top threads" forum
- restoring leaderboard to top 10
- tags to replace forums - I will discuss this later to see if its possible
- restrict new users from accessing chat until they hit 50 posts

Dear Shiachat team

I have a suggestion that during using chatroom when we checked some other topic, at that time if someone talked to us by our profile name then it should be displayed at the "mobile chat icon" at the bottom of screen so that we can respond in time.

That's a good idea to consider. We'll look into the kind of notification settings offered and keep you updated.

This is ridiculous.....i've just posted something and I can't find it.

Go to your profile page and look through your posts. The difficulty will be finding discussions which you've read but not replied or followed.

As-salamun-alaykum,

In light of the importance of knowing the Imam (ATFS), would it be possible for the moderators to create a sub forum, titled "Imam Mahdi (AS)," so that we can read all the pertinent discussions to the Imam (AS). Or if that is not possible, would it be possible to have a separate sub-forum called "Ahlul Bayt (AS)"? It is just bit weird to read about people like Tawhidi and the Masumeen (AS) in the sub forum of personalities.

Thank you

Good observation.

I note what HH says in the other thread, I think that's a reasonable compromise:

I think a subforum for Prophets and the Ahlulbayt would be sufficient.

disagree.

a sunni user who joined today was able to gain a lot from us.

I am in two minds about this.

On the one hand, I dont think we should use an exception as a basis for a rule. The minimum approved post limit I think was a good thing. It forced people to contribute and earn the ability.

On the other hand...its good to see chat so active, and I havent seen or heard anything negative about new users being inappropriate so far.

I guess keep it as it is and see if it works? The sites focus has been changed from quality to quantity now, so I guess the chat may as well reflect it.

Just mod up some long time users so there are more chat mods.

If someone is abusive, we IP ban them, and that's that.

If it becomes a consistent problem, we then have to bring in the 50 post count.
