I am in South Texas; I originally looked into Islam last year and like all reverts, was flooded with nothing but Sunni information. As I thought about reverting, I decided to look at what Shias believe and since I have done that I have found myself a follower of the Ahlul-Bayt.  I don't know any Shia Muslims in my area or even online really. I was wondering if anyone here had some connections to Shias in my area or knows a good Masjid to attend since the only ones I know are Sunni.  Thanks.

Dear brother, subhanAllah, what has he found, he who has lost God, and what has he lost, he who has found God! You used your intellect and inner nature to embark upon the true path layed down by the Prophet [saw] of the second of the two weighty things, his Ahlulbayt [asws].

Other than a centre near you [info given by sister hameedeh above] would you like any help whatsoever? Any support in any way, shape or form?

I think for me it would be nice just to find a Shia community nearby to interact in person with brothers in my area who can guide me.

I only speak English; and that website seems like it hasn't been updated in awhile. And any resource that deals with the teachings kind of like how Sunnis have "Islamic University Online",

Dear brother,

Revivingalislam website was given for the purpose of a contact me section. On that link, you can email brother Nader Zaveri, who is from Texas, and he may be able to point you in a good direction with regards to places you can visit, centre's, bookshops, among other things. He is fluent in Arabic, well versed in shia and sunni works, one of the most well-read and most intelligent users shiachat has ever had, and i am sure if he has time, he would help a revert [if he also checks his mail].

If you're into an academic sort of website, which contains papers on various subjects which have been researched, this is a good website : http://www.messageofthaqalayn.com/index.php

It contains various papers written from scholars to aspiring academics in shia islam, on many issues. I personally love this website because of the academic nature of the material , the quality of what is on there, and the interesting array of subjects it deals with.

Al-Islam.org is excellent . It is essentially a giant encylopedia of books: https://www.al-islam.org/

Let me know if you want topics on any paticular books from here.

This website is by brother ibn al hussain of shiachat, a student of the hawzah [islamic seminaries] for many years and has material that is accessible to more advanced: http://www.iqraonline.net/

Do let me know if you want any specific topics and i can try to get you the best books on that. As an aside, one of the most intelligent thinkers of modern shia islam, Ayatullah Shaheed Mutahari [rh] a man who was clearly ahead of his time, has written some absolutely fantastic books you may want to read:
