Surah Al-Waqia, Verse 62:

And certainly you know the first growth, why do you not then mind?

(English - Shakir)

Which first growth, this verse is mentioning? The growth of fetus? Or the evolution of life on earth? Or it is talking about youm e alast?

I think this verse is talking about the growth of fetus because of the subject matter of earlier verses:

Surah Al-Waqia, Verse 58-61:

The last verse strongly points towards evolution (change) but for that we have to pass through death.

If we see the subject verse in light of following verse,

Surah Al-Ankaboot, Verse 20:

Say: Travel in the earth and see how He makes the first creation, then Allah creates the latter creation; surely Allah has power over all things.

(English - Shakir)

It looks that Allah is mentioning the evolution of life in the subject verse i.e., 56:62!
