Saudi ambassador gives bizarre answer to illegal Yemen cluster bombing question: 'It's like asking if you’ll stop beating your wife’

http://www.independent.co.uk/news/saudi-arabia-yemen-cluster-bombs-question-ambassador-beating-wife-answer-reply-a7396926.html

The reason he gave that example was because either answer to the question 'will you stop beating your wife' makes the person answering the question look vicious.

So in his eyes any answer he gives to the cluster bombing question will make Saudi look bad.

His problem is that the Saudi use of cluster weapons is well-documented.

To continue his analogy It's as if the person being asked whether he'll stop beating his wife has been found with a stick and the wife has marks from that stick all over her.

    • Very funny.  Good sense of humor.  Mashallah.
    • That doesn't quite make sense to me if I were to be honest with you. I'm being forced to live, I'm suppose to just randomly cope with life and deal with everything pretending like it's ok. And when it becomes to much to handle and I give up there's a bigger punishment waiting. Ppl say pray make dua do good deeds.......I've been doing nothing but that. I'm begging to feel like islam is fake. Partly why I'm willing to take this risk.
    • Why does that even matter?! Your basically saying "no don't kill yourself forget what your going through just keep up with that good reputation!!"
    • Imam Jafar al Sadiq a.s replied in context to infatuation. What do you think about what was the condition of your attraction towards that guy ? Were you infatuated by his personality or attracted by morals and behavior. Have you loved him due to being of good faith or good personality. If you loved him due to good faith, then you loved him due to Allah and if you loved him due to his personality, then you loved him due to materialistic aims and one who has materialism in his spirit, will learn one day that materials do not live by his side always. And if one learns such lesson with the departure of materialistic sooner, it would be much better.
    • yes. and we know they already knew because of the ahadith that i mentioned. as for why their knowledge/question is not mentioned in the quran, if that is what you are asking, then only Allah knows. absence of evidence is not evidence of absence. basic principle of logic.
