MWM Chief announces hunger strike to protest sectarian killings

The leadership of the Majlis Wahdat Muslimeen (MWM) has declared a hunger strike starting on Friday, to protest the recent wave of sectarian killings, particularly in Karachi and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Led by their leader Allama Raja Nasir Abbas, a number of MWM office bearers and workers jointed the hunger strike camp set up outside the National Press Club Islamabad. The Sunni Itehad Council, led by Sahidzada Hamid Raza, has also extended support for the hunger strike.
Speaking to the press from the camp, Mr Abbas said: `Anti-state elements are conspiring to divide society on the basis of sect and religion, and this is the first towards the collapse of the system.
He said the party had opted for peaceful ways to highlight the community`s suffering, and would not fall into the trap laid by those conspiring against the country by reacting violently.
`These powers want us to become violent too, but it will eventually trigger civil war in Pakistan and we will never be part of any game to damage the country,` he said, adding: `At the same time we criticise the authorities for failing to protect the lives of ordinary citizens.
Mr Abbas lashed out at the KP government`s response to a surge in target killings over the last six months.
`The PTI government has not even condemned the sectarian killings, besides, the recent shooting of peaceful protestors by the FC in Parachinar is deplorable,` he said.
He also demanded action under the National Action Plan against proscribed outfits active under new names, and the transfer of cases related to attacks on imambargahs and processions to the military courts. The MWM also demanded a commission over the recent killings by Frontier Corps in Parachinar and called for legal action against the political agent and assistant political agent.

The term genocide should be used carefully. It's not to be thrown around in the hope of gathering sympathy; its overuse devalues it. There is Shia-killing in Pakistan (indeed, for many years) but it's sporadic and done by the same terrorist groups which for the last decade have been killing people indiscriminately. Unfortunate as it is, it is still not a genocide.

To help SC catch up on the recent developments, the biggest and most virulent of anti-Shia militant outfits, Lashkar-e-Jhangvi, has almost been neutered during the previous year, after so many years of silence, criminal acquiescence, and double standards on the part of politicians and previous army men, thanks entirely to the current army chief General Raheel, who put his foot down and did what was supposed to have been done a long time ago.

Malik Ishaq, the head of the group, was driven from his home in Rahim Yar Khan, where he was supposedly in "house arrest" to be taken to Muzzargarh and finished in an encounter, along with his son and few other hardcore militants. It was a false encounter, but it had to be done.

Likewise, another leader of the top four was in hiding in Dubai: Haroon something. He was pursued, arrested, and flown back to Pakistan. The army knew it would impossible to get a conviction through joke of a low court because of lack of concrete evidence and absence of witnesses (who wouldn't come forward for fear of life, or if they did, would be killed in turn, as it happened in the past), so some time after arriving in Pakistan he was taken to an abandoned factory along with a few of his close aides captured previously, and killed in another "encounter."

The last remaining founding leader of LeJ is Akram Lahori, in Karachi jail for like two decades, and if rumour is to be believed, it appears that his death warrant would arrive soon and he'd hanged too, like other terrorists.

Good riddance.

he genocide of Shia continues unabated while the state institutions have completely failed to protect them or provide justice while the killers roam free. The ideology of Takfir using which Shia are declared infidels and worthy of being killed, several thousand Shia have been killed, injured or disabled for life by anti-Shia militants. The worrying fact is that these militants run organized intimidation campaigns against the Shia and create resentment for them in the society to gather support and sympathy for their cause of exterminating the Shia. The state has turned a blind eye to the organizations and militants killing the Shia and they operate freely, their leaders enjoying public space.Although, Secretary General MWM Allama Raja Nasir Abbas took bold initiative & started Peaceful movement of #HungerStrike4Justice across Pakistan from 12th May 2016 & still movement is going on .More-than 26 Places are in Pakistan where Hunger Strike camps are set up.In overseas, Mominen also started movement in UK & USA.

Allama Raja Nasir Abbas's Sermon During friday prayers at National Press Club Islamabad
21 May 2016

Allama Raja Nasir Abbas gave out a sermon to thousands in attendance at Jumma (Friday) prayers in National Press Club, Islamabad.

Allama Sahab said people that accompanied Imam Hussain on the day of Karbala were not obligated by their relation to him but honored his imamate, sacrificed themselves in blood for his well-being. We are the followers of Imam Hussain (a.s.) and will at no cost give away his pledge.

He said that we stand under the flag of Shehzadi Zainab (a.s.) and will never let go. It is today that we stand oppressed in Pakistan, every Pakistani is oppressed.

Quoting Imam Hussain (a.s.) he said, "Supporting the oppressed opens gates to heaven and we shall keep doing so". It saddened him that the oppressed stand deprived in a country which prefers dialogue with the terrorists. Killing a few numbers will never rid Pakistan from terrorism, unless they uproot them or change the mindset that has made its way into our national institutions.

According to shiitenews reporter, Allama Abbas Jafri identified the enemy that is bringing a divide in the name of shia/sunni among the masses.

He pointed out the situation in Gilgit Baltistan where land is being usurped from the locals. Gilgit Baltistan is at the top of Pakistan, stands deprived of basic necessities. Unlike balochistan, there remains no inference of India, yet the locals suffer at the hands of the state. These atrocities and many more bring us to this hunger strike till date.

MWM supremo exclaimed that Parachinar is a land of patriots with a high ratio of literacy. Lest for the last 5 years, the area remains besieged at the hand of terrorists under the patronage of government, trying to enforce a geographical change. The locals have laid down their lives to enforce the writ of the government. But in lieu of medals for their patriotism they are offered with state terrorism. Frontier Corp (FC) on 3rd Shaban disrupted religious festivities killing three innocent participants. He pointed out the list of terrorists in the ranks of FC.

He admonished the governments' move declaring, the parton of 'Unity among Muslim Ummah' prominent Quaid Shaheed's son, a terrorist. Deploying his pictures on every check posts and asking questions from individuals regarding him.

He implored General Raheel Sharif to rid the military of militants of its ranks for it defames the very essence of the institute. He wished peace in Pakistan that Quaid-e-Azam promised his nation.

Coming towards Khyber Pakhtunkhwa he said that Shaheed Quaid's madressa wasn't spared and many lost their lives to the blast in the seminary. The whole of KP along with Dera Ismail Khan is inflicted with Shia genocide, but Chief Minister KP has yet to take notice or condemn it. It was atrocious when a professors corpse was left on the street to rot with none to cater it. He condemn Imran's government in KP and demand an explanation alongwith an apology.

He said that National action plan in punjab has been implemented on Azadars, nohakhwans, naatkhwans only with FIRs lodged against them. Clerics and Zakirs were refrained district wise, restricting them of travel. We demand to take action against the black sheeps involved and that the FIRs be revoked.

He uttered that in the past we used our democratic right and demonstrated against shia genocide and atrocities through long marches, sit-in, but to no avail. We met Imran Khan in the past as well but that made no difference. Now we have resorted to this hunger strike and will not give-in till our demands are met.

The best this regime can do is send him to jail, he said that he will stand steadfast and will not let go of the strike in confinement. He said that he'd rather die than move off their motive, even if he is left alone.

He thanked the demonstrations staged in USA and Europe in his support. He said that he will not budge from his demands and welcomed them to join him should time require.

He explained that Imam Ali's (a.s.) daughter taught us this lesson to stand steadfast in our cause and we will not forgo this at any cost.

The sermon ended with Bibi Zainab (a.s.) masaib to which the whole of the audience wailed.

Ayatollah Kashani

Shiite Ulima have gone on Hunger Strike, we ask government of Pakistan to revise its policy: Ayatollah Kashani

Substitute Friday prayers leader of Tehran Ayatollah Mohammad Emami Kashani says Saudi Arabia, the US and the Zionist regime of Israel form a evil triangle against Islam.

Delivering his Friday prayers sermon, Ayatollah Kashani said the world of Islam should get united against the American-Zionist arrogance.

He said whole the world of Islam, either Shiias or Sunnis, do know that Saudi rial, Zionists' policies and the US power form the angles of the triangle and all corruption against Islam is caused by them.

'Now the world of Islam, either Sunnis and Shiias, bear in mind that Saudi rial, Zionists' policies and the US power are observed in Yemen, Syria and other countries.

Elsewhere in his remarks, Ayatollah Kashani voiced sympathy with Muslims of Bahrain and said, 'Do you see what they do in Bahrain. They close down their mosques and torture Shiia Ulima.'

He then referred to torture and massacre of Shiias in Pakitan and said, 'Unfortunately, they beat and kill Shiias in Pakistan and a group of Shiia Ulima have gone on Hunger strike.'

He noted that even Christians have supported the Pakistani Shiias but unfortunately, Pakistani government has kept calm. 'We ask government of Pakistan to revise its policy.'

The divorce of a wife who develops an aversion from husband and hates him, and surrenders to him her Mahr or some of her property so that he may divorce her, is called Khula' Divorce. The hatred must have reached a proportion where she would not allow him conjugal rights.

2538. If the husband himself wishes to pronounce the formula of Khula' divorce and his wife's name is, say, Fatima, he should say after receiving the property: "Zawjati Fatimatu Khala'tuha 'ala ma bazalat" and should also say as a recommended precaution: "Hiya Taliq" i.e. "I have given Khula' divorce to my wife Fatima in lieu of what she has given me, and she is free'. Then he says immediately: "Zawjatu muwakkili khala'tuha 'ala ma bazalat hiya Taliq".
And if a woman appoints a person as her representative to give something other than Mahr to her husband, so that he may divorce her, the representative should utter the name of that thing instead of the word "Mahraha" (her Mahr).
