Do Alawites believe imam Ali r.a is god ?

Recommended Posts

Quote

1. They believe in divine incarnation, believing "I testify that there is no God but Ali." As Christians believe Jesus (pbuh) was the divine incarnation of God, so Alawites believe Ali was the divine incarnation and he created Prophet Mohamed (pbut) from his own light.

is this statement true ? and if not then what is the alawites concept of god , does they believe Allah incarnate ?!

No, the Alawites do not believe incarnation (hulul) is possible. Their view is that Imam Ali is both a "manifestation" and emanation of God, and this itself sometimes borders on extremity if it is not actually extremity for many of us here. But they are not "ghulat" per se in that they believe in things like incarnation.

First which alevi? Alawis or Alevis?

I am an Alevi seyid from Hz Cafer Sadık and nope we don't believe Hz Ali is Allah.

Hence we say Ya Allah Ya Muhammed Ya Ali

But we do believe Hz Ali and Hz Muhammed were created as light by Allah before the world was created.
