I am feeling so much lighter today. My calorie intake has been less than 800 in the last couple of days despite eating regularly throughout the day. Furthermore, a big thanks to all the support and tags, I did 50 push ups today (2 reps of 25), walked 3 km and will go for another walk late night. I like Chaotic Muslem's 2 o clock, 9 O clock and triangle push ups. I’ll  do extra 40 of them as well.

Hasnain Ali, that slide is awesome. I can manage everything in it except that I can’t go fully down in squats (injury). I keep doing most of them all day long … in the kitchen, in my room, any where outside….

Ruq Thanks for the video !! :wOOt::dwarf:I tried doing dead lifts but sorry had to resort to cheating cz I can't exert too much pressure on the right foot. And sorry can't run at the moment either lol I don't want to disgust you but below is the reason why I am avoiding tough exercises at the moment and why I would want you to help & motivate me with beginner's level exercises albeit with more repetitions:

Keep the motivation coming guys. Thank you Sis Hameedeh, LCM and Marbles. Last but not least Habib e Najjar thanks for nothing:ranting:

You've Been Tagged:

@Hasnain Ali1 Give me 10 pushs (3 reps) with 10 sec break in between. Report when done!

@Chaotic Muslem How many miles did you do today? I need to know to keep myself motivated lol

@Ruq and @habib e najjaar How about you carry your phones and count your steps with one of those apps? Start with 1000 steps!

@Marbles I know you're not going to like it, but do not sign in again until you give me 5 push ups !! I mean it... I"ll block your butt if you do. You can do it bro, come on

@hameedeh Stop working on so many tasks and take a break! Follow Hasnain's Ali's slide.... really helpful!

O my word is that your foot!? why is it so fat? looks painful. You could try soaking it in epsom salts. Thats way worse than my injury. Sounds like youre doing great @Abbas.  088.gif   I just finished some beans on toast, but i will go for a walk in about 30 mins. I'll aim to walk about an hour inshAllah.

My my. This thread is having an effect on the furthest corners of the world. My 20 Month old nephew came to show off his push ups to me and tried to make me do them too. I am wondering who many shiachatters do theirs his way. He starts in sujood position then lifts his knees off the ground and his diaper bottom up up up in the air, then tries to get both feet off the ground, so its some wierd jump/headstand/push up thingy.

In other news, who else is too cool for exercise? i had to carry no. 1 and my legal briefcase up two flights of stairs and right through a government department while being stared at. If thats not exercise, who needs exercise?

Aha. So marriage causes aging and unfitness?

this is a clear case of somebody not doing their share of the house chores, diaper changes and babysitting.

Top-per tip: When trying to focus on one point in front of you to help you balance, place one or all of these on that point so as to motivate you to exercise. Within seconds, you will have DASHED (exercise) off to have a bite. :offtopic:

p.s @Abbas. very very nice topic mashaAllah :shifty:

Hmm, so you want to be lean and muscular.

I do not know much about becoming lean, I have never been fat because I have always done sports in some way or shape my entire life. InshaAllah some other brother or sister can advise you on that front.

For those who want to just lose weight in general:

If your doing same amount of physical movement but with less amount of inserted food, then you will lose weight, its not really much harder than that. If you increase the amount of physical movement while still decreasing the amount of inserted food, then the process will go faster. End of story.

Anyways, when it comes to exercise do not count on motivation. Motivation comes and goes, you like it when it is there but it is not reliable at all. Like a good friend that actually sucks. Some times when you need him, he lets you down.

Count on discipline instead, you do not like him as much but he will never let you down, only you will let him down. Though if you let him down you will have to deal with his brother guilt :P So count on discipline and the guilt you will feel when you fail your discipline.

Or better yet, count on force, he overrides all the other ones and his very relentless and has the final say always.

So in short, if you want to become fit, stop playing around.

Do not wait until you "feel like it" to do exercise, instead make a clear plan, be structured, have your goal clear, have your purpose clear and set in action your plan and stick to it rigorously. Do not do it for fun, fun is like motivation, do it because you said you would do it. Have a balance between discipline, guilt and force.

Anyways, hope this helps. You said you had foot injury so perhaps you can try swimming and I don't mean take your kid with you and have fun in the water kind of swimming. Or you could try bicycling outdoors in terrain or uphill, etc. The possibilities are endless you just need to be creative, where there is a will there is a way as they say.

If you ask me personally I would say s[Edited Out] the lean part and just focus on building strength and eating with common sense in mind and feeling good. I hope your doing this for your own sake and for the love of God please tell me you were joking about the night cream thing? If not, then you should probably go and do the yoga tree exercise Ruq linked, might suit you better buddy :P

MOTIVATIONAL STORY OF THE DAY:

So this lady wants to help her extremely overweight neighbor's daughter and gives her a great pep talk on the benefits of exercise and even outlines a simple yet rigorous exercise routine for her. A couple of weeks later, she asks her neighbor if her daughter got round to starting the exercise routine to which the neighbor replies:

"I can't thank you enough for what you did for her. She is exercising without fail every day. It has really, and i mean really, improved her appetite. Before, she would rarely feel this hungry." :pushup:

Previous body fat ratio: 22%

Current ratio: 21%

Target: 18%

One Step at a time.... Still got 39 days to achieve my goal.
