Ameer Khusroo may have been an Indian but that does not mean that this post should be in the Urdu forum. I think it should be in the Farsi forum.

Ah brother that lecture is in urdu. And yes he was a hindustani farsi poet/mystic.

Salam,

for the first time I have visited farsi section and found this interesting conversation.

I would like to add that Hz.Amir Khusro , in addition to being a farsi poet,  is a pillar of hindavi language which later developed into  Khari Boli .

This khari boli is  in two rasmulkhat. (script).

The one in Arabic /Persian rasmulkhat is Urdu ( drawing heavily from Arabic and Persian VOCABULARY)

The other in Devnagri rasmulkhat (drawing vocabulary heavily from Sanskrit language) is known as Hindi.

But the early phase of these two languageS was developed by HZ. AMIR kHUSRO......these two languages have similar grammar( almost 95% same) but  differ mostly in vocabulary.

So he is among the founders of Urdu/Hindi.

His RIDDLES  (paheliyan)are very famous both among Hindi and Urdu speakers.

wassalam
