You're gonna have to pass the didn't read collection on to me.....LOL

(Off topic: Is it just me or have you noticed there is an abundance of posts that could be narrowed down to a few points that cover everything...instead they drag on and on with ridiculous elaborations and talking about ones self when we already get the point?)

They made it protected lol i nearly fell off my chair. I hate saying this because it always sounds so condescending, but in this case its probably justified:

GROW THE HELL UP!!

Grow the hell up based on what? I didn't see anything immature..

So this Basic Member n00b comes and ruins everything out of the blue?

He's acting as if he accidently walked into the women's section of a wedding or a masjid.

What was ruined?

Brother please try to ignore whoever attacks you directly

Oh, okay. I am *SO* sorry for removing the GREAT PLEASURE of you to be able to view the latest posted in thread in these two forums.

IT WAS A SUGGESTION.

I'm sorry that I'm not old enough for you. I'm sorry that we are not all equal as humans.

AGAIN, IT WAS A [Edited Out]ING SUGGESTION. Feel free to [Edited Out]ing disagree. Feel free to post why you [Edited Out]ing disagree. But don't [Edited Out]ing attack me personally.

Because you're still seventeen yourself

What was ruined?

Call me old-fashioned but I don't like change, I prefer familiarity and status-quo.

I still refuse to update my FB to the new layout, they will have to force me to change that.

Age doesn't necessarily equate to maturity.

I don't see how it's immature for someone to not want to accidentally enter a topic which is not meant for them to view.

It's not that bad :P (the sisters and brothers forum being protected)

Come on people, be nice! dont pick on the new guy.

He might end up being admin the end of this week so i'd watch out. lol jk

You are such an insufferable sycophant. Touche.

And no, he deserves it. His offenses range from

1) Pretending to *stumble* on the sisters and accidentally read topics labeled "Warning: Sisters ONLY lest your manly eyes be horribly offended by a topic on dealing with pregnancy cravings or (THE HORROR) menses." Last I checked, virgin eye syndrome isn't accompanied by vision impairment.

2) Pretending to be outraged. If you are on the internet you probably see more offensive pop ups than the stuff in the sisters forum.

3) Actually getting the mods to do something about it. I have been a loyal troll on sc for many years and I can't get them to change the Iraqi subforum name (despite the fact that we are no longer at war) but this new kid complains about how he had to be subjected to a thread on whether waxing is better than shaving and BOOM homeboy changes the layout? Come again?

Here's a crazy idea. Why don't we have the forums be password protected? There could be a new password each month or so to get into the forums - kinda like how the Hogwarts Houses were password protected in Harry Potter :)

Mentioning Harry Potter warrants immediate banishment

Guys, go easy on Jafar. He made a suggetion and it's not a bad one. Maturity doesn't mean one should be willing to look at thins that other people don't want to share with you. The reason that they post it in the sisters' section is because they don't want men to see it so he has a right to not like it. He just made a suggestion; no need to get angry on him.

And Jafar, you should also keep yourself in control. Propaganda is a very humorous person who is always playing around with his memes so don't get angry on him....

Lol are you serious?

It was just an idea people, chill out. I just thought I'd throw in a suggestion since this topic has been brought up a lot, and all I see here is people diving at each other's throats.

Salam alaikum,

I noticed that also. I wondered what 'protected forum" meant, so I clicked on the brothers' forum and saw that it meant nothing. I didn't read any of the threads, because I feel that as a sister I should not. But I agree that it should be more difficult for anyone to get into the forums that are not for their gender. Also, those topics are listed on the most recent topics list, so anyone can click from there and not realize that they are in a "protected" forum until they get there.

Privacy settings is too complicated to be enforced here. People should just be honest to themselves and not peak into sensitive gender topics which are marked as [brothers Only] or [sisters Only].

I also like the idea of not adding Brothers/Sisters Forum to the View New Posts filter button. Someone should ask one of the admins and see if this can be done. Meanwhile, we should just try to respect the warning tags.

Also, the brothers should have their own hair removal thread so they don't need to check into what the sisters are doing. I am pretty sure the men can search information using google and learn all the effective techniques for hair removals.

When you click on View New Content, it tells you what forum the topic is in. It is the Recent Topics on the home page that does not tell you what forum you are going into if you click on it. Many times I stumbled into the Brothers forum by clicking on Recent Topics. It is quite embarrassing to click on a new topic called HELP Me and it is a brother, wishing only brothers to help him with his most private problem. I asked almost a year ago in the topic To Improve ShiaChat could we please have the Recent Topics tell us what FORUM the new topic is in, so we can avoid the forum(s) we don't want to enter.

Salaam alaikum,

On another site I use, the moderators ask sisters (who have 50 posts or more) who want to access the sisters section to ask them for access, and then the moderators grant them access to this private forum (no further passwords needed).

If everyone here had to answer a question about their gender when they first register, then they could be granted access to a private brothers or sisters forum once they reached 50 posts and asked a moderator to grant them access.

That would not make the sections completely private (so sisters would still need to be aware to not post photos of their self or disclose very private personal maters), but it would change the general atmosphere of these forums and allow users to be a bit more open with one another, socialise a bit more and talk about topics from more of their own genders perspective, as there would not be other users present who are openly of the other gender, who could comment on sisters or brothers answers.

Some people may still fake their gender upon registration and try to act like the opposite gender in their posts in order to gain admittance (or just look at it from the account of someone else they know), but then it would not be the problem of the sisters posting. As someone said before the sin would be on the one commiting it. Sort of like a man entering a female toilets, he is not supposed to be there, so it is not the ladies sin if he sees her uncovered doing wudhu.

If people want to make topics asking for the opposite genders opinion, such as wanting the brothers opinion about marrying a certain type of girl, they can always open these topics in the social or other appropriate forum and just ask for that specific genders opinion.

There are also plenty of forums where brothers and sisters are able to interact and find out each others opinions on different topics. So it would be nice to have somewhere on the forums that we are able to interact between the same gender and be a bit freer and friendlier with each other.

The problem is that alot of the time, I noticed that when brothers do enter the sisters' forum, they are less than friendly and very judgmental.

I just posted a reply on a thread called "Forehead Indentation" as I saw it in the "Recent Topics" up on the right... Later on I was scrolling down SC page to see that the thread was in the "Sister's section", I went in and deleted my post... If it had stayed, I'm sure that the mods who have their grudges on me would have directly suspended or banned me.

Now if it was a question about nail polish or waxing or whatever, I would have got the hint that it might be in the Sis zone...

If you guys are going to be suspending or banning people for posting in the girls' section or vice versa, at least let the recent topics belonging there go directly to their sections. Or may it be more apparent in a way or something...
