I don't know if this has been posted already but I just finished reading a book called "In Search of Truth" and it was one of the best books I have ever come across. Highly recommend it. Only bad thing is that its short. Here's the introduction: Sarah, a Christian, was in her third year of college studying for a degree in engineering. She has accepted a proposal of marriage from Mohsen, a classmate who, though Muslim, does not know anything about Islam. In order to ensure that they have a happy life together, Sarah decided to embrace Islam. Mohsen tells this story:

Thank you for this thread, firstly sister, and is this more Hadeeth than ethics, or would you mind me asking what is an ethics book, per se?

Thank you. Since this book list is in English, it is short. In my opinion, any book that would increase our understanding and teach us how to change our behavior for the better, such as this informative book on Salat, would be in the Ethics Book List. :)

Salam alaikum.

Thank you for sharing such wealth of information. If anyone hasn't shared Risalatul Huqooq by Imam Ali Zainul Abedeen (as), I would suggest a reading. This is one of the best books I have ever read.

Salam,

I'm stunned by the amount of work that these saintly persons have put into translating so many works and putting them up online for everyone to read. We're so blessed to have instant global access to the islamic "library of Alexandria".

I have a tip for those that use eBook devices such as the Kindle etc. I have been copying the titles of the books I found in this thread and then googled them by adding eBook and I've found a website that contains many many of these specific books as PDF and different eBook formats over here:

http://www.feedbooks.com/user/571456/bookshelf

and here:

http://www.feedbooks.com/user/591887/bookshelf

They contain many works that are found on al-islam.org but for eReaders. Just click the link, choose which format and save.

If you have another device that dont support any of those filetypes you can download a free software called Calibre that can convert text documents into most ebook formats.

Can anyone give a recommendation about which book to begin with to learn ethics?
