 I forgot four other legends: Sayed Mustafa al-Qazwini, Sayed Muhammed al-Musawi, Sheikh Jehad Ismail (Replicant, thnak you for reminding me :D ) and Brother Yahya Hayder Seymour.

Sayed Mustafa al-Qazwini: really good speaker, very knowledgeable and very practical. I don't live in the USA and, so, don't know their problems much but, from what I can say, his lectures are always focused on these issues and he talks in a way that the locals in USA can have practical and modern solutions to the problems they have - something really priceless if found in a religious leader.

Sayed Muhammed al-Musawi: his knowledge is IMMENSE. I don't know if he gives lectures and, if he does, I have not seen any but his Q&A show on Ahlulbayt TV has made me his fan. His knowledge is a lot and very broad, covering nearly all aspects of Islam; from aqaed to fiqh (practical issues), he knows it all! :D

Sheikh Jehad Ismail: another of the speakers, like Sayed Mustafa al-Qazwini, whose lectures are oriented by his audience - English speakers - and their problems. I don't know if people would agree with me but I think his style is very much like Brother Hassanain Rajabali or, atleast as compared to other speakers, most like him.

Brother Yahya Hayder Seymour: I just  this man! HE is soooo knowledgeable and, yet, so humble. I am always bugging him with questions and, despite him being such a busy man, he does reply to me a lot. Also, I like the way he is very neutral and professional. If you see him on TV, he is quite "expressionless" (I don't know if that is the right word) but his answers are very neutral and never have I seen him biased. I think we need to have this sort of mentality more amongst the Shias where they don't support views and ideologies because of a bias or because they were born into it but because they really see ti as the truth.

@ Sister Alaweya, I can't watch the debate due to internet connections! But, yes, I did like it. By the way, it seems you are only talking about the first debate. Did you know that there were, actually, two debates? In the first one, it was Hassanain Rajabali alone against Dan Barker (also alone) and, in the second one, it was Hassanain Rajabali and Micheal Corey against the atheist plus Richard Carrier.

It was the only initiative I have seen of such an event - debate with an atheist - taking place with a Shia in it.

I really like Sheikh Jihad aswell, Syed Ammar, Sheikh Mohammed al-Hilli.

Aside from Sheikh Hamid whose lectures I see all the times anyways, I generally watch speeches in Arabic given by maraji3, par example:

Well, most of you may not know him because he is an Urdu speaker, but my favorite  speaker would be Sayed Ali Murtaza Zaidi.

Yes sister, Ali Murtaza Zaidi hands down the best lecturer. We actually had a private session with him one time and he was running late and after he came he apologized for being late because his father passed away and he was burying him. If you sit with him you really know that you are sitting with one of the sons of Imams (as) so pious. Everything i learn was from him and his praise is really cant be said by a person like me. I think i have heard almost all of his lectures

Have you also heard of Jawad Naqvi? Another big respectable scholar whose knowledge is immense, the leader of future shia revolution in Pakistan.

Yeahhh he moved to our community in England, and he mostly hangs out with the youth. He comes out with us to restaurants and other lectures, etc. He's really cool.

Loool, yeahhh. Btw, since you probably know better than me, what line is he from? As in, which marji3 does he do taqlid of, etc?

Haha, yeahh same. :shifty:

I quite like shaykh Ahmad Haneef, I remember when i used to watch ahlul bayt tv, I always thought him and sister Ameen Inloes were by far the best thing on it, because they spoke their minds (I also think Muhammad al-musawi is funny, and on a fiqh level hes fine, but aside from that, I have very grave doubts about him)

First of all, I am NOT a Sister; I am a BROTHER! :P

Yes, Sayed Ali Murtaza Zaidi is LOVELY! I really love him! I think I can, easily, say that if I am even one bit religious, 90% of the credit would go to him as he was the means through which Allah (SWT) made me religious - even though I am not very religious. He is absolutely FABULOUS! His lectures are very much based on change and self building and the way he explains how to build yourself is sooooo amazing and systematic.

Can I have the full name of Sayed Jawad Naqvi and a pciture or a video of him would be very helpful, indeed. By the way, does he live in India?

lol sorry brother, and yes he is really influential. Probably the reason i became "religious" due to him or else i was a lost cause.

Here is video of Jawad Naqvi. Regarding him he is more of an "advance" alim. For example, Ali Murtaza Zaidi works on fixing the basics etc, Jawad Naqvi expects his crowd to already have established all the firuadeen and are actually at point of taking the next step.

they're all my favorite . God reward them all :)

and they're really cool behind the scenes (when they're not lecturing)

By the way, I don't see why this topic is in the sister's forum. I suggest this topic to be moved into ''General discussions'' , since this matter concerns the brothers too.. right ?

unless the title of the topic was ''Who is the hottest lecturer?'' ...then i would understand lol..

    • I  understand what you are trying to say but kindly understand what i am trying to ask. You are saying that how leaving Islam should be punishable by death. I am asking its not about what should be and how it should be, its about what is ruling in this matter. And whether any Ayyah  directly hints towards this ruling ?  I completely agree but similar to above discussion in link there is no reference to Quran.
I understand that even treason against country is punishable by death then why not for religion. But what i want you to understand that rulings are not as per yours and mine understanding. If that so then i say it should not be done like this.  Its matter of life and death of a human being. It cant be interpreted that easily as per one's thinking. Same Islam asks to respect every human being regardless of their religion and color.
    • @hasanhh and anyone else who would enjoy a light comedy war film. This one has its moments. Its also thought provoking and asks a big question about the purpose (or the absence of it) behind the US occupation of Afghanistan.
    • KSA wants to try and make a dent before their abominable presence leaves the stage of history forever. However it is ridiculous to think Saudis will be fighting a war with anyone alone while they can't even bomb Yemeni babies on their own. Same goes for Israheil. So naturally they will bring their uncle Frankenstein Sam to help them out with the heavy lifting as usual. However due to important strategic reasons they will be go for Lebanon and Syrian territory first. This is why Netanyuhu and King Salamander have been grovelling at Putin's feet through 2017. If I was Putin I would pull a Danzig with them and take their monies then back stab them after having filled my defending allies with weapons. China will not be joining in. They are worse than Jews in seeking wealth. Of course the US senate will soon give the go ahead for their troops and fleet to deploy (since someone in the thread was innocently asking why one of their fleets stays in the region, this is it). This is also why they had Iran under sanctions since so many years, to weaken their preparations. This is also why they have created hell in Balochistan and other borders surrounding Iran. They think that will prove to be enough deterrence for paramilitary forces attempting to reinforce IRGC. Manpower. That stupid video someone linked before was right about one thing and that is the very significant advantage in manpower Iran has. Available manpower is directly proportional to motivation of the people. That is why Israhellis and Saudis and Yanks are bound to lose if the Shia manpower is mobilized who a lot of them will proceed to fight till the death while the axis of bankers has little motivation which will die out when the body bags start coming in. Israhellis used to literally die of fear when Saddam fired a few scuds into their cesspool. Saudis are too decadent and incompetent. Yanks are waking up to the truth and are also oppressed now and its not a false flag attacked year 2001 anymore. Those of them who will fight will have to fight each other being transsexual, pro-Trump, anti-feminist, white supremacist, pedophiles and all the throngs of tedious little issues plaguing them now. So with such a difference in Morale and perhaps a little bit Russian support as well, God willing above all else, things will change forever. At worst there will be a regime change in Iran which will not change anything because the biggest push of all pushes comes later under Mahdi (as) and Jesus (as) who are promised the manpower, hardware and the ultimate victory to bring the world about and set if free.
    • I know some eastern women put up with their husbands, even after being beaten and abused, as they are very dependant on them. I mean, some women go to the extent of obeying their husband soo much and this is just pure injustice! As for your question about a guy being rejected because he was Eastern - I feel it is a very personal choice as long as she doesn't think Eastern men are inferior to Western men. The choice could be associated with a lot of factors, like personality clash etc I personally would find it easier to get along with Western Muslim girls, because their way of thinking, interacting etc would be similar to mine. However, I'm okay with marrying an Eastern Muslim girl if I get along with her.
