There probably are some, but having seen your taste, they might be a little deviant for you, just keep an eye on this website, I used to go there sometimes, never heard any ghulu, so you would probably think its ok, not a majlis though, more in the form of a lecture, though it isn't on a weekly basis.

Biochemistry Lecture Theatre, UCL Darwin Building, Malet Place, WC1E 7JG
From the Organisers of "Islam and Sex"

UCLU Ahlul-Bayt Islamic Society proudly presents:

"The Art of Spouse Selection"

What does Islam say about early marriage? How do you know if you are ready? Is the culturally acceptable way to find a potential spouse always the right way? What about arranged marriage? How do you find your perfect match? What should you look for in your future spouse? When should you accept or reject a proposal? What can we learn from the examples of the marriage of the Prophet (SAWW) and Lady Khadija (as) and the marriage of Imam Ali (as) and Lady Fatima (as)?

Find out about these questions, and ask your own questions in an honest and open discussion with Sheikh Mohammad Al-Hilli, leading Islamic lecturer, and Brother Abbas Merali, community expert in issues of marriage and spouse selection, serial match-maker and co-author of "From Marriage to Parenthood: The Heavenly Path".

Lecturers: Sheikh Mohammad Al-Hilli and Brother Abbas Merali
Date: Monday 5th March 2012, 6pm
Location: Biochemistry Lecture Theatre, UCL Darwin Building, Malet Place, WC1E 7JG

Dinner will be Served

There is public transport. Buses/Trains.

You could always book a minicab if you are too worried about going outside on your own that late, but that might be a bit pricey.

FRIDAY NIGHTS: Thought Forum

Posted Image THOUGHT FORUM:

“Give good tidings to those who hear the word and follow the best of it ... those are the people who possess intellect.” Holy Qur’an [The Masses - 39:18].

“Contemplating for an hour is better than the worship of one year.” Imam Ali Úáíå ÇáÓáÇã.

This famous saying of Imam Ali Úáíå ÇáÓáÇã puts a high premium on contemplation and intellectual engagement. However this is not to be understood as a replacement for acts of worship but rather to complement them. Undoubtedly any action that we perform with full intellectual cognition is better that one performed as a routine. However, just like any other activity, intellectual engagement requires training.

The ''Friday Nights: Thought Forum” is a new initiative by the Islamic Centre of England which aims to provide a forum for people to converse, in a friendly and mutually respectful environment, on subjects that can stimulate our thinking processes and engage us at an intellectual level. The repetition of the word “intellectual”, as pretentious as it may sound, should not discourage anyone from attending since we believe that we have all been endowed with intellectual potential and we can all develop it.

The gathering, which is open to all, will start with the first series of discussions on ''Spiritual Intellect'' introduced by Sheikh M. S. Bahmanpour.

Venue: Islamic Centre of England
Date: Fridays 19:30 to 21:00

Starting Friday March 30th 2012
ALL WELCOME
Muslim (Shia/Sunni), non-Muslim

Are they all in English, or are some held in other languages? The Imam Musā Kāẓim lecture looks really appetising - the prisons of Baghdad - and the other intriguing one is Urban Islam.

Lucky are those who dwell in the capital!
