I'm Indonesian, so I understand some Malay since it's so close to Indonesians.

It's unfortunate that the Malaysian government is condoning such religious intolerancy toward Shi`i. I hope in things can get better there. Hopefully, Indonesia government doesn't follow its footsteps.

You bet... I know in Indonesia there is a Shia spokes person....I mean well known one...appears on tv...discuss openly with other religious people... No hiding..free.but here.. yeah ..we have Shia leader here... with restriction everywhere....

I heard about those 'lost' soul...one who follow distort path...like ayah pin thingy.. these people being 'cured' and send to rehab....but not with Shia. Even though it claimed to be wrong,, but no body send somewhere to be 'cured'--- which make me think... Are they really wrong...?

Assalamualaikum.

Try to visit Indonesia and ask people on the streets "Are you Sunni or Shia ?". Almost all of them will ask you back "What is Sunni ? what is Shia ?". It's because Sunni Ulama in Indonesia never taught lay Muslims about Sunni and Shia.

Shias are exist in Indonesia, but they call themselves "Jama'ah Ahlul Bayt", not Shia. And different than Malaysia, Shafi'i Ulama in Indonesia are tolerant to Shia. Also, there are number of Habaib who known as Shafi'i Ulama in Indonesia, and they are descendants of Imam Husein (ra).

.

thank for suggestion..i'll visit there one day.But about "What is Sunni ? what is Shia ?" question, I'm not quit sure bout it. Maybe its from layMuslims. But not with layMuslims witk little knowledge. From what I've read through the net, some Indonesia's web surfer quit familiar with shia sunni thingy. If we ask same question, the answer will be "We are Sunni. Shia are misguided." Countless of debate, plenty of argument.....But not all of them,..because there are plenty of Shia w'site in Indonesia which mean lot of followrs of AhlBayt there. Also, in the same time, I watched JAB personality like Kang Jalal, Haddad Alwi..aired on tv. ...That's confusing... but glad to hear where MUI stand on this issue. Here, the only hi-lite for JAB is when there's a raid.

Habaib...yeah I reliaze that. I listened to habib lecture especially Habib Munzir. Its like in Yaman...where decendant called habib and respected. I believe there are Habib who follow MazAhlBayt too, right? That's wonderful. How tolerant is that, brother? Is it if Jama'hAhlBayt solat according to Imam ( like hands on the side, prostate on turbah)...nobody will say anything? Thats nice...

i know habib ali zainal abidin from malaysia, one of spiritual leader through mawlid syllabus, not syiah.

oh... not him though... I read somewhere the Habib is from Indonesia actually. By the way, have you watch a syed ask habib Umar about him being a Syiah? I love the answer of Habib Umar...very wise man, and tolerate too.

semenjak dua menjak ni... thread malaysian kat sini dah tak bertambah pagenya.. mungkin sebab Saudara Syiah Melayu berhati-hati... ataubosan dgn soalan curious tentang Syiah macam di topik <a href="

    • Salaam Alaykum When I was back home, I thought my dad is abusive. He made me cry at 2 am by creating a family fight. That time I was 7 years old. A 7 years old boy was crying at 2 am. A 7 years old was in the middle of family problem with a HUGE amount of stress. Now I gained the freedom that you are seeking. Now after living seven years away from my dad, I just want to see my same dad and kiss his feet and hands for his effort on raising me. He never let me grow up on street, he supported me financially. I'm grateful for that. I wish I could squeeze his hands one more time. When I have stress and pressure, I need my dad support.   To the OP: you're dad is a good man. One time with all of those restrictions that you have, just sit down and have a tee and biscuits with him and enjoy.
    • It does not look pretty. They freak me out. Wear an aqeeq and call it a day please!
    • Salaam First part: what's that?  Second part: no I wear aqeeq, dur e Najaaf, feroz, yaqoot. I also have the threads we touch the zaris with in ziyarat.

    • One muslim asked me that why we do latmiyah and cry, so I told because of mourning the grandson of Prophet Muhammad (saws) martyrdom, then he answer: "So you beat yourselves to this day for that reason.. Really.." And that's how it saddens to hear how the hearth have become so blind, that nothing but insulting the 'Aali Muhammad.
