probably u have experienced sleep paralysis.
don't know about it? just google it and you'll find some interesting

however, this is what i got from wikipedia though u can find more reliable info from another reputable site :

Paralysis: this occurs after waking up or shortly before falling asleep. the person cannot move any body part, cannot speak, and only has minimal control over blinking and breathing. This paralysis is the same paralysis that occurs when dreaming. The brain paralyzes the muscles to prevent possible injury during dreams, as some body parts may move during dreaming. If the person wakes up suddenly, the brain may still think that it is dreaming, and sustains the paralysis.

Feeling, any feeling, without life is not possible. Life is not possible without. Since you could feel things as you have said, you had neither died nor your sould left your body.

By the way, rich food and junk food can cause such experiences

Out of body experiences, Autoscopy, Astral projection, are phenomena yet to be discovered by science.

http://en.wikipedia....body_experience

An out-of-body experience (OBE or sometimes OOBE), is an experience that typically involves a sensation of floating outside of one's body and, in some cases, perceiving one's physical body from a place outside one's body (autoscopy). About one in ten people has reported having an out-of-body experience at some time in their lives. Scientists know little about the phenomenon. OBEs are often part of the near-death experience, and reportedly may also lead to astral projection. It is claimed that those experiencing an OBE sometimes observe details which were unknown to them beforehand

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Autoscopy

Autoscopy is defined as an experience in which a person while believing to be awake sees her/his body and the world from a location outside her/his physical body. More precisely, autoscopy experiences are characterized by the presence of the following three phenomena:

* disembodiment (apparent location of the self outside one's body);
* impression of seeing the world from an elevated and distanced visuo-spatial perspective (extracorporeal, but egocentric visuo-spatial perspective); and
* impression of seeing one's own body (autoscopy) from this perspective.

Autoscopies have puzzled humankind from time immemorial and are abundant in the folklore, mythology, and spiritual narratives of most ancient and modern societies.

http://en.wikipedia....tral_projection

Astral projection (or astral travel) is a paranormal interpretation of an out-of-body experience achieved either awake or via lucid dreaming or deep meditation. The concept of astral projection assumes the existence of another body, separate from the physical body and capable of traveling to non-physical planes of existence. Commonly such planes are called astral, etheric, or spiritual. Astral projection is often experienced as the spirit or astral body leaving the physical body to travel in the spirit world or astral plane. Astral projection is controversial. Skeptics say that there is only anecdotal evidence that anything actually leaves the body

But skeptics of these deny the existence of God, heaven and hell, angels and demons, spirits and souls. A question to those who deny the possibility of an OBE, if you believe in the existence of spirit and soul, what do you think will the soul/spirit experience when it comes out of the body at the time of death?

when your soul leaves your body you cannot feel your body anymore.... your soul leaving your body is not what happened and there is no pain in it........

But some people would insist upon putting it down as an out of the body experience

(salam)

I recommend you to go to a doctor and get a check-up to see if you have any physical or mental issues.
If not, then perhaps it may have been what they term an "out-of-body" experience.

It is possible to leave the body, but this usually happens after training and with ones own free will.

In a reliable tradition it is related that people asked Imam Jaafar as.gif: "Why is it that at times a believers sees a dream and whatever he sees comes true while at times he dreams but it has no effects." The Imam replied that when a momin sleeps his spirit travels towards the sky then whatever he sees in that invisible world which is the land of destiny and planning, is true and comes to happen; whereas whatever he sees on the earth and in the air is an untrue dream. The narrator enquired whether the spirit of a believer travels to the sky in its entrely and nothing of it stays in the body. He replied: "If this were to happen, will he not die? Rather the spirit is like the sun which is itself in the sky but its rays and light reach the earth. In the same manner the spirit resides in the body while its reflection moves towards the sky.

In another reliable tradition it is related that two christians put certain questions to caliph Abubakar. When he was unable to answer them, they proceeded to Ameerul Momineen as.gif. Amiral Momineen answered each and every question and satisfied them. One of the questions was as to what was the cause of dream being true or false. Imam Ali as.gif replied that Allah has created the spirit and even appointed a king over it. The king is "self" (Nafs). When a man is sleeping the spirit travels while the self stays back. The spirit passes by batches of angels and even of jins. True dreams are the effect of angels wheareas false dreams are the effect of the jins.

In another reliable tradition it is related that Imam Jaafar as.gif said that during the last days on earth, the opinion and dreams of a Momin will be equal to the 70th part of prophet's characteristics.

In another reliable tradition it is related from Imam Muhammad Bakir as.gif that a person asked the Holy prophet the explanation of the following verse:

Allad'eena aamano wa kanoo yatta-qoona lahumul bushraa fil h'aatid dunya wa fil aakhirah
[Those people who have accepted faith and practice purity, for them there is good news both in this world and in the next.]

The Holy Prophet replied that the meaning of life being a good news is all the good dreams which a believer sees in this world and feels happy with their good tidings.

In a reliable it is related from the Holy prophet as.gif that: Relate your dream only to such a momin whose heart is free from jealousy and hatred and who is not a follower of his rebellious self.

In a good tradition it is related that a man appreared in the precense of Imam Jaafar(as) and stated that he dreamt the sun shining on his head but his body was deprived of light. The Imam replied that the light of faith will guide the man and he will harbour the right faith but his faith will be incomplete, if his body would have been complete. The man replied that some people take it to a mean kingship. And tell me which kingship would be better than this true faith by which you will enter paradise.

Another person told the Imam as.gif: I have dreamt that i am holding in my hand the rod of a spear. The Imam enquired if it had blade. The man replied in the negative. The Imam said that if the rod had the blade the man would have a son, but now he would have a daughter. A little later the Imam further enquired how many joints the rod had; the man replied "twelve". THen the Imam said that there will be twelve daughters.

Muhammad bin Yayha said he was relating this tradition to a man who said that he was the son of one of those twelve daughters and his eleven aunts were alive.

Bro I always thought that the self (Nafs) travels while the soul stays back. Can you kindly confirm the hadith ?
