Shrine has undergone through decades of new construction and extensions, moreover new modern and modest buildings have taken over the place around shrine.
We still have old age underground abandoned cells around shrines and Karbala's Shrines are under threat of flood due to rising water level.

how would you rate the style or taste of the new architecture? i don't know where you live, but in the US, too often new structures have no aesthetic value whatsoever. ugly ugly ugly. is it in good taste there?
