40 Hadith by Imam Khomeini (ra)

Lantern of the Path by Imam Ja'far al-Sadiq (as)

Thanks bro for the link!

I have the book, haven't seen any links of it, so for that i apologise. This book is beyond comprehension, its mind blowing and intriguing. It encourages one to understand the essence of Salah and how to attain a high level of spirituality through salah. However what has me baffled thus far is chapter 5 desribing 'Some Disciplines of wadu in respect of the interior and the heart'. It delves in so deep, that performing ablution is not just cooling your cells with water but a purifier that washes away your sins. Subhana'Allah..

DrEaMa...

I only saw the ppt and i was moved,so i can imagine how intriguing the book would be.Insha'Allah im planning to start reading from today itself and hopefully implement it in my daily sal'ah.Insha'Allah.

I am reading "The Chosen" by Chaim Potok

it's about friendship between a jewish boy and a (hasidic) jewish boy.

Why am I reading it??

Cus I have to... for my Ethnicity Literature class. I'd have to read To Kill a Mockingbird next week, and then The Bean Trees, Tortilla Curtain, and many other novel

The Book of Mormon. My colleague and I have been discussing religion lately, and she was trying to explain the need for an intercessor to me. I was not convinced, so she gave me the book and recommended I read a particular section.

I enjoyed To Kill a Mockingbird. I read it because I heard it was good, though, not because I had to.

Sounds interesting, is it going good?

I'm reading The Shade of Swords – Jihad & the conflict between Islam & Christianity by M.J. Akbar; it's really interesting & the writer's style is very inviting. I reccommend it.

I had a look at the reviews of the book; what I would find funny is if Pakistan and Bangladesh merged back into India :)

Very good choice :). Have you read Orientalism? If so, what did you think?

    • I think an important question that nobodies asked is what kind of relationship do you have with your sister?  If you're not super close and just come out of nowhere with all these rules shes going to rebel and your parents could get involved- telling you to stay out of it. If this happens- she might think its okay because her parents are defending her.  If you're not close, then maybe this is an opportunity to be. Try and be really open and non judgemental and find out why she doesn't wish to observe hijab. It may just be down to ignorance: she simply doesn't know its importance in islam. You'd be surprised what kind of interesting conversations you'd have.  My brothers beliefs are fairly different to mine and fairly often we have interesting discussions/debates about all kinds of topics. He's also very open minded so I feel reassurance/comfort if I ever need to ask advice or information about a certain topic.
    • Salaam, I have a difficult time finding things related to Sayed Khamenei on the internet-would you by chance be able to provide a link for the mentioned Q&A, in sha Allah? Thanks!
    • It's simple., One sect follows Islam as Allah swt and His Prophet (pbuh) wanted Muslims to follow while the other one is trying to tell Allah swt and the Prophet pbuh what they think should be part of Islam. So if you follow the former then you know you are on Haq and if you are following the latter then you are doomed. Allah swt states in Quran that only He appoints Caliphs. If you look at one sect they abide by it where as the other one have their own man-made Caliphs clearly against the Quran. It's really not that difficult.

Dear brothers and sisters  Can someone please tell me what the following dream means.  Dreaming that your nephew is loosing his hair.    I heard it means something bad so I am a little worried.    JazakAllah
