[color=#000000:post_uid1]Salam Alaykum,

In Ramadhan, on Manar TV, they will put Imam Redha's (as) and Ahlul-Kahf's(People of Cave) series.

So I thought to post this up in advance, since I'm sure many of you hasn't seen the series and would love to watch them :)

Wsalam

Salam alaykom ,

I am very glad to hear that, even though I was the one who told you about this. Yes brothers and sister, al-Manar will be showing Imam Redha's  (as) serial and Ahl-ul-Kahf 's serial during Ramadhan. Please, and I repeat please, support al-Manar. I'd also like to point out that the best serials are made during Ramadhan. Why's that? I don't mean Islamic serials, but I mean ordinary ones. Do they want to ruin the future generations into the hideous Western ideas? They put these beautiful ladies and all that for Ramadhan.. Please you have another choice.. you have al-Manar..

Wasalam,
Ali Lari

(salam) jamee3an,
yes for real "Ghareeb Al-6oos" is amazing... wallah any person's heart would break at this story... i highly suggest that you all watch it. and for those who don't have a satellite... then its a good argument to use when you convince your folks for a satelite.! ;)

And Ahlil-Kahf... is one of the most beautiful storie... who have soo much meaning... sub7aanak ya Allah...

yallah salam for now..

your sister,

[color=#000000:post_uid0]Assalamu Alaykum,

                       Mashallah ManarTV is fantastic!  So will the series on Imam Ridtha (as) start on the first day of Ramathan, and then a part each day after that, better have my vcr hooked up and ready.
                                                             With the satellite we have, the Manar station is the only Shia based channel, so I'm always on the look-out for whatever great programs they show.  The ones I enjoy watching most are probably 'El Deen wel Hayat' and 'El Mushahid Shahid' (funny)
Though I wish they'd show the documentary, "Ayaam Al Tahreer" (I think that's what it's called) I hear it's extremely moving and very sad. I think it's about the freeing of the Lebanese who were imprisoned by the Israelis, I think though.  So, Inshallah, who knows they might show it.
Anyway, thanks for posting about these programs!

                                          Wa alaikum as salaam

[color=#000000:post_uid0]Assalamu Alaykum All,

                           I'm thinking, and kind of sure that if it's Manar showing it, it's likely going to be in Arabic, w/o English subtitles.

Though they should consider showing one that's dubbed or at the least, has subtitles.

Who knows, Inshallah.  If not maybe you can ask around, some Arab video stores usually have videos that can cater to the needs of non-Arabic speakers. For instance "The Message".

                                        Wa alaikum as salaam

[color=#000000:post_uid0]Assalamu Alaykum All,

                             This subject was closed for awhile, but I had to update something.  I just pressed the "record" button for the Manar film, "Mariam al Mugudisseh" or "The Virgin Mary"  (Friday, Saturday, Sunday during Ramadhan)  and it DOES have subtitles in English, and is in letterbox format.  I was counting for sure they wouldn't have subtitles at all, shouldn't make presumptions I guess  :)

                                       Wa alaikum as salaam

Al-Manar satellite reaches all countries.

Also during ramadhan, they will be playing a new short series from Egypt about the zionist protocols. America threatened Egypt and other arab channels if they played it. Al-Manar didn't care, and so since the al-manar is going to play it, america had no choice but to let the egyptians play it. It couldn't let al-manar get too popular.

The series is called "Knight without a horse" although they translate it to "Horseman without a horse".

[color=#000000:post_uid0]Selam alaycom,

Mashalla, al Manar is great this Ramadan (and always). Last night I watched the first part of The Virgin Mary (with English subtitles) and have been watching 'faris bi'la jowad'... Both are great, not to mention the beautiful duas that they put after fatoor. It is a shame that they don't do more English subtitles/dubbing... those who don't speak Arabic miss out on a lot.

Peace,
Um Ali

I also just watched 'maryam almukaddasa' but, some of the translating, around 2 sentences long, were shown like for half a second.  But mashallah.. it's pretty good so far.  When are they going to show Ghareeb Tous??

[color=#000000:post_uid0]hmm, I walked in to the hall and i saw the tv on Al-Manar and it was some sort of a movie of a woman delivering and 5 other women around her.  Looked like the person delivering was a holy figure cause of the way they acted.

Was that it?  I felt awkward standing there watching so I left.

[color=#000000:post_uid0]That was the Virgin Mary..... they were expecting the baby to be a boy (the Messiah) and were ashamed when it was a girl..... But the Prophet Zakaria knew that she would grow up to be the mother of the Messiah and told the family to protect her and not let anyone know the secret. The leaders of the Jews / temple were glad that the prophecy wasn't fulfilled. That's about where it ended.

It is on at 10:30 pm here. It is on again this evening as well as Sun.

Peace,
Um Ali
