Recommended Posts

Guest -Fatima-

Jazakum-Allah katheeran. I know some arabic too, but it has worsened over the years living in the UK. So I will also try to help if its ok, and it'll give me a chance to learn aswell.

ok, here's a little poem we used to sing as kids:

wahid ithnin thalaatha one two three

fin rayeh ya hamada? where are you going hamada?

rayeh ashtari chocolata i'm going to buy some chocolate

anta wa men ya hamada? you and who hamada?

ana wa baba wa mama me, my dad and my mum

baba you-salli salatal eid my dad is praying eid salat

mama titbukh daga-gal eid my mum is cooking eid chicken

I believe thats not totally fusha, it does have some dialect :donno:

Now, You can learn the accents on each letter, from this site....SOme Tips:

When you go inside the site... Please wait till the letters at the bottom of the page load so you can see the letters with the accents on it..And when you click on the letter, it will tell you the pronounciation of the letter...If you have any questions, do not hesitate to ask...

Note: Each letter is in a full page, you will start with the first letter Alif and end up with the last one Ya'

Thanks

Sometimes it helps people who can't read Arabic well to write out the pronunciation in English lettering. Thoughts?

Yes, or make it as a sound file and a person pronounce it.

Yall see how the word Madina ( City) ends with an ul for those of yall just learning Arabic watch out for those. Ul makes it city of.
