[color=#000000:post_uid0]gud idea sis
u kno wat i did the other day? lol i tried to make chines rice(i named it chines rice ). and it worked and it was gooooooood.

1) rice (ur desire amount)
2)corn ( one can or maybe less)
3)green peas (half of the can if tis big)
4) eggs (2-3 it depends on the amount of rice)
5)chiken
6) garlic powder (not alot)
7)soy sauce ( not too much)
8) black n white peper ( just a bit)
INSTRUCTION :
so first u cook the rice , then u add corn ,and green peas .u mix'em with the rice prefectly so that its all spread out. then u beat the egss in a bowl and then fry'em in the pan. then u add the eggs to the rice. while ur doing that u let ur chiken cook, and wen it is ;take the chiken out n slice it into small pieces and then add it to the rice. then u put the rice with all the stuff in a pan and fry the wholething.u can add the garlic powder, balck n white peper ,n soy suace while ur frying the rice. it takes bout 10-15 mins.

[color=#000000:post_uid0]Bismillah..

Assalam Alaikum everyone,

Insha'Allah you are all in the best of health and Iman.

aaa recipe topic!! cool!!! soo soo cool! (hehe ok Ima lil over exaggeratin there) :D

oo lasagna. I remember the first time I made lasagana.. such a shame to know I made something like that..

okaaay heyy sis Ya Mahdi.. that is a greatt ideaa. hmm I think Im gonna try it!

While we are on the discussion of chinese food.. I gotta a shrimp recipe (much simpliar than urs Ya Mahdi :) )

umm but Im not gonna type it up, cuz Im one of those cookers that never measure anything.. so yeaa I would mess up the recipe if I tried tell in ya'll :) Next time I make it I will write all the ingredients and amounts down :D

umm BUT. there is something that is different.. it's an American-ish dish.

What you need:

1) Rice.. plain white
2) sausages..preferably spicy.. chopped into like 1/2"pieces or so.. doesnt really matter
3) can of beans.. pinto or red kidney
4) can of refried beans
optional:
5) Cayenne pepper
6) Jalepeno juice

Kai, now what you do is make dae rice, jus' normal.  Den you get dem sausages.. an' fry dem a bit in da skillet.  Da heat should be like medium.  You add dem can o' beans (1 or 2) and mix 'em well.  Den you add dem refried beans.. just to get some thickness.  Den you can add some Jalapeno juice, or cayenne peppah to make it HOT :).  You jus' let it cook for like 5 minutes to get a gud flavah. Den you serve it o'er rice. gotta be warm or it don' taste none good. I only tried it once actualy..was purdy gud stuff.  (sorry for the suthern thing goin on... its just the suthern food thats gott me all  :) )

oo boy I have soo many recipes.. I'll never run out :)

take care everyone, wasalam Alaikum

umm.. lol... this is a cute topic hehe..

im at college half the time and i guess i hardly ever make food.. but i loooveee chinese food.. and i make my own version at home :uhh: okies.. so heres how..

fry frozen veggies, or individual ones.. the main veggies would be broccolli, mushrooms, baby corn, carrots.. umm.. and the other white thing like brocolli.. i always forget the name.. not cabbage.. uMMmm..  oh maan.. i dont remember..  :s  but u get the idea hehe.. anyways, stir fry all these.. and while u do all this, boil some two minute noodles.

and theeen... fry the noodles a little on their own and add soya sauce.. (note: u can add garlic and salt and pepper and anything else u think would be nice.. even ginger hehe) and mix them allll together and viola.. chinese a la jennah style :P..

note.. u can make chinese vegetables with rice too.. (if u dunt like noodles.. ) just make sure u add soya sauce to the veggies aswell..

hope it made sense sense sense..

take care u alll..

[color=#000000:post_uid0]Assalamu Alaykum,

Sister great idea, especially for those who aren't culinary cooks!  So far, great recipes.  Haha, PACHA!  I had my first (and last) experience w/ pacha long time ago.  I was invited to dinner during Ramathan by some friends and when it came time to eat they bought out pacha, I had heard of it, but never seen it, and was it a sight!  It was the head of the cow (or sheep, I couldn't tell, with its eyes closed and all)  with bread and rice around it, and the insides of the cow as. Needless to say, I nearly fainted!  But hey there are some who find pacha finger-licking-good!  :s

Usually for dinner we plan our menu as follows

2. Bread and rice
3. beef/mutton or chicken
4. 1 or 2 type of Veggies
5. soups
6. salads
7. Yogurt
8. desserts
9. Fruits

Now mix and match. 2,3, 4, 9 is must.

[color=#000000:post_uid0]Pacha  is like Kallah Pacheh sis ya Mahdi adrekni

it's a stew right??  ...like a big soup with chunks of meat, and sometimes potatoes, and you eat it with lots of bread, you dump pita bread in it and get it soggy.

It's like aab goosht.

am I right or totally off? lol

Assalam Alaikum everyone,

Insha'Alah you are all in the best of health and Iman.

kaleh pacheh!!! lol mmmm yea Br Mujahid I think its the same thing, lol. I remember my mom saying when my bro was lil.. once day he came and opened the fridge and saw that head in there. And he went screaming to my mom, "A PUPPY'S HEAD IS IN THE FRIDGE.. MOOOOOOMMM!!!" hehe so cute

Anyywayss  back to the recipes

ok I gotta me another one:

What you need:

1) yellow rice (I think it's also called "spanish rice".. umm u can buy it in lil packages at the grocery store)

2) some regular white rice.. one cup (?)

3) chicken (preferably bonless chicken breast) .. one inch cubes

4) can of green beans.. french style or cut or whatever..

5) can of stewed tomatoes

some onion, and spices (to cook in the chicken)

Now vat you do is.. saute some onions.. then add the chicken cubes.  Usually I add all bunches of spices.. but espeically turmerik should be added here.. and pinch of cinnamon, cumin, curry, advieh, salt.. just to add some flavah :)  Thenn.. umm well I use a rice cooker.. so hope you guys have one :)  You get the yellow rice.. and add water as it says on the package to do.. then you're gonna add one cup of white rice, and like one and half cups of water.  Drain the beans and tomatoes and add them in there too...Some butter/oil salt..Then of course, add the chicken.. mix it all well and let the rice cooker do the rest :)  Sorry I know it's lazy... but really Ima full-time student what can I do!!! gotta feed these people!! :) oo oo and u gotta eat yogurt/sour cream/labna (u get the drift..whatever one is to ur liking) with it.. it's just not the same without! and of course salads and etc :)

mmm what else.. I think that's all..oo noo wait instead of the stewed tomatoes.. u can try.. there is this can of tomatoes that is diced and with green chiles.. that'll make the food spicy if u like it like that :)

ok now Im all done.. I guess..

ooo waiit sloppy joess!!! EWW :) I never liked that stuff.. too sloppy hehe

Sis Ya Imam Mehdi.. what type of food do you usually make.. I mean is it Paki or..?

ok now Im done.. take care.. bon appetite, wassalam Alaikum

This is a great topic!!  Heres a recipe for those who want something easy, economical and tasty. The amounts depend on the how much you want to make and how much of each you prefer ;)

Take some ground beef fry it up with some onions, garlic, oregano, basil, salt and pepper.

While you are doing that cook some elbow macaroni (small pasta shaped like a u)Drain and set aside.

Once all this is cooked and ready get some tomatoes(canned is much faster   :) ) and a little bit of tomatoes sauce  Throw it all into a cassarole dish Put some grated chesse on top and put into a 350 degree oven and cook until heated thru(until it bubbles  ) And then dig in!

[color=#000000:post_uid5]Bismillah...

Assalam Alaikum everyone,

Insha'Allah you are all in the best health and Iman... and enjoying your foods

oo sister lilac.. I make that all the time!! oo goshh pasta.. dont get me started. so many variations

leb fast food.. sureeee hehe  I only know one though.. lol.

mm ok well its rice (can u tell I like rice? :D ). yea soo its callledddd ummm its a rice pilaf.. called "Ruz Bish'irreeyeh" or somethinnn. it takes about half an hour.. thats purdy good timin

What you need:

1) one cup of those vermicelli noodles or egg noodles or vhateverr

2) mm like some butter or ghee is better.. but butter is ok (2-3 tbls)

3) some rice (2 cups).. u know u gotta wash it like always hehe

4) boiling water.. uhhhhhhh 4 cups? maybe more or less

5) salt and ground CINNAMON

umm yea I donno about the amounts actually.. this is for like 6, 7, 8 servings or soo, so if neccesary I think you guys are good enuff to customizeee :)

ok so u saute the noodles until they are golden kinda.. mm make sure u stir bc they will burn.. veryyy easily!!  ok then u put the rice and salt. Add the boiling water, stir wel.  When it starts to bubble, cover rice reaaal good, and turn done the heat to LOW, and let it simmer for about 20 minutes (til rice is tender).
Now, the bestest part.  The water should be absorbed my now I should say.  You're gonna get a fork and fluff the rice. nooww what I was taught was to just sprinkle the cinnamon on top of the rice after its on the plate or whatever.. but I say pshhhh nooo thats not good enuff.. . Soo I put some cinnamon.. I mean like soo much cinnamon, lol well not soo much.. but I sprinkle the cinnamon and stir so its all over the rice (uhh lil suggestion get one of those thingie mahbobbers uhh sifter? and sprinle the cinnamon with that).. really nice and yummy like.. but not too much cinnamon.. or u'll ruin it kinda lool kai. sooo its not a bunch of effort.. its pretty fast and its REALLY good :)

uhh usually I put it with a chicken and onion dish "Djaaj b'bassal" but that takes like more than an hour  umm soo yea just get some ground beef (cooked! seasoned with cinnamon o'course) and mixx it in there.. Im sure it'll taste yummy for ur tummy :) but goshh it really taste good with that lemony chicken! oooo u can also add those lil pine nuts.. or hmm maybe even slivered almonds.. Im sure it'll taste more good :)

I hope my instructions are clear :s if not IM SORRRY :)

take care everyone, wasalam Alaikum

Sis this type of rice doesnt' call for cinnamon. The rice your talking about you make the same way but u add meat and cinnamon and pine nuts...or almond slivers. Goes great with just about anything.

I'm leb so most of my cooking is leb food.
And alot of american dishes. And my hubby is a meat and pototoe sort of guy. If i offer anything veggie he has withdrawls...lool. So keep the suggestions coming. Wasalam
