  1. Can People Choose the Prophet or Caliph or Successor of the prophet with Shura or Consultation, instead of authority / command by Allah? The following questions serve as a food for thought for mindful people. 1- Hz Adam as was chosen by Allah swt as caliph / successor on the earth. Did Allah swt make any consultation for his selection ? 2- Allah swt Chosen Ibrahim as as Imam / leader of the people, Did Allah swt consult any prophet or any person for his selection ? 3- Hz Adam, Nuh, Ibrahim and the progeny of Imran were chosen above the worlds. Did Allah swt make any consultation with any prophet or person for this selection? 4- The prophet Nuh and Ibrahim were sent to his nation. Did the people choose them as prophet by Shura or consultation? 5- Allah swt gave the progeny of ibrahim, the book and the wisdom. Did Allah swt make any consultation or Shura with any one for this award to his progeny? 6- Allah swt chosed Ishmael, Elisha, Jonah and Lot—each graced over all the nations. Did Allah swt make any consultation for this grace? 7-Allah swt made Isac and yaqub leaders / imams, whom Allah consulted for this selection of leaders / imams? 8- Allah swt made Dawood a caliph ie his successor as his chosen representative on the earth. Did Allah swt conduct any consultation for this selection? 9- Allah swt made Haroon as and aider and adviser of hz Musa as. Did Allah swt make any consultation with the Children of israel for such selection? Or Musa made any shura for his selection? 10- Musa asked his adviser and aider made by Allah swt ie Harun to take his place as his caliph / successor in his absence, when he left for Mountain Tur. Did he make any shura for Haroon selection? However the people themselves chose and took a calf in Musa's absence then they were condemned by Allah swt for this worst action. 11- Allah swt made 12 leaders among the children of israel. Did Allah swt make any consultation for the selection of them? 12- Allah swt chosen Talut a leader over the children of Israel because of his knowledge and physical strength. Did Allah swt make consultation for his selection? 13- Allah swt sent the prophet Muhammad saww as mercy to the mankind. Did he make any consultation for his selection? 14- Allah swt made the prophet Muhammad saww as his messenger and the last of the prophets. Did Allah make any consultation for this selection? 15- And your Lord creates and chooses whom He pleases; to choose is not theirs; glory be to Allah, and exalted be He above what they associate (with Him). 28:68. This verse in the light of above verses clearly indicates that the selection of representative (prophet / leader / imam/ successor) is the authority of Allah alone. and no one has any right for it. It does not involve any consultation for their selection. 16- The way of Allah does not change: [This is] the established way of Allah with those who passed on before; and you will not find in the way of Allah any change. (33:62) 17- The people do not have any right for selection of prophet or his representative then certainly they cannot choose any one after the prophet as his caliph ./ successor at their own (by any consultation) without permission by Allah. Thus what happened after the prophet Muhammad saww for the selection of the Calif Abubakr is considered an innovation or bidda in the religion in violation to the established principles of the quran. 2. Can Sunni quote an authentic hadith naming their 12 Caliphs, from Sihah Sitta?
  3. "I leave behind for you two Caliphs (Khalifatain or خليفتين), the book of Allah and my progeny. The book of Allah is a rope stretched between the heavens and then earth and my progeny is Ahlul Bayt. The two will not separate from each other until they reach me at the pool of paradise." Note that this isn't the same as the famous hadith where the Prophet (pbuh) refers to them as the thaqalayn, this is a different occasion. On this one he refers to them as the two Caliphs (khalifatain). Let us look at the opinions of the main Sunni hadith scholars: Albani- chain is sahih (authentic) Al Arna'oot- chain is hasan (trustworthy) Tabarani- chain is hasan (trustworthy) Suyuti- chain is sahih (authentic) Found in: Musnad Ahmed ibn Hanbal, Fada'il al Sahaba by Ahmed ibn Hanbal, Manba' al Fawa'id, al Kabir by al Tabarani, Majma' al Saghir by al Suyuti, Aqdain for fadha'il al sharafayn and more... My dear brothers from Ahlul Sunnah, could the Prophet (pbuh) get any clearer? I defy any of you to refute this.
  4. Bismillah ar-rahman ar-rahim Assalamu alaykum jamian, I was wondering if we could list up the ahadith which mention the will of the blessed Prophet(S) about his successors. So far all our ahadith with the will testifies the words of the ansari shiites who believe in 12 mahdis. So far I have found three. “O Father of Al Hassan, bring me a leaf and a paper”, and he dictated his will until he came to a position where he said ”O Ali, there will be twelve Imams and after them there will be twelve Mahdi’s. You, O Ali, are the first of the twelve Imams, God has named you in his heavens Ali Al Mortada,The Prince of the believers, Grand truthful, the bright Farouq (Judge and differentiating between true and false), the trusted, and the Mahdi (rightly guided). These names may not be truly attributed to other than you. O Ali, you are my guardian on my own family, their living and their dead. My women, whom you maintain shall find me tomorrow, and whom you reject I am acquitted of her. I will not see her and she will not see me on the day of resurrection, and you are the successor (Khalifa) on my nation after me. If the day of death comes to you, hand it over to my son Hassan the very beneficial. Then if the day of death comes to him, let him hand it over to my son Al Hussein, the Martyr, the Pure and the Assassinated. If the day of death comes to him, let him hand it over to his son, the master of the servants and worshipers Ali.If the day of death comes to him, let him hand it over to his son, Mohamed Al Baqir. If the day of death comes to him, let him hand it over to his son, Jaâfar Al Sadiq (the honest). If the day of death comes to him, let him hand it over to his son, Moussa Al Kadhim (The Patient). If the day of death comes to him, let him hand it over to his son, Ali Al Reda.If the day of death comes to him, let him hand it over to his son, Mohamed Al Thiqa (The Trustworthy). If the day of death comes to him, let him hand it over to his son, Ali Al Nasih (The Advisor). If the day death of comes to him, let him hand it over to his son, Al Hassan Al Fadil. If the day of death comes to him, let him hand it over to his son, Mohammed the Mandate of the Holy Family of Mohamad Peace be upon them all. These are the twelve Imams. Then there will be twelve Mahdi’s after them. then when Allah receiveth him, let him hand it over to his son, the first of the close ones, he has three names, one like mine and my Father’s: Abdollah (Servant of God), Ahmad and the third name is The Mahdi (the guided) and he is the first Believer” (Ghaybat al-Tusi, p. 150) ÍÏËäÇ ÃÈí ÑÖí Çááå Úäå ÞÇá : ÍÏËäÇ ÓÚÏ Èä ÚÈÏ Çááå ÞÇá : ÍÏËäÇ ãÍãÏ ÇÈä ÇáÍÓíä Èä ÃÈí ÇáÎØÇÈ ¡ Úä ÇáÍÓä Èä ãÍÈæÈ ¡ Úä ÃÈí ÇáÌÇÑæÏ ¡ Úä ÃÈí ÌÚÝÑ Úáíå ÇáÓáÇã ¡ Úä ÌÇÈÑ Èä ÚÈÏ Çááå ÇáÃäÕÇÑí ÞÇá : ÏÎáÊ Úáì ÝÇØãÉ ÚáíåÇ ÇáÓáÇã æÈíä íÏíåÇ áæÍ Ýíå ÃÓãÇÁ ÇáÃæÕíÇÁ ÝÚÏÏÊ ÇËäí ÚÔÑ ÃÍÏåã ÇáÞÇÆã ¡ ËáÇËÉ ãäåã ãÍãÏ æËáÇËÉ ãäåã Úáí My father, may God be pleased with him, narrated to us, saying: Sa’ad bin Abdullah narrated to us saying: Muhammed bin al-Hussain bin al-Khattaab narrated to us from al-Hasan bin Mahboob from Abi’l Jarood from [imam] Abu Ja‘far [al-Baqir, peace be upon him] from Jabir ibn ‘Abdallah al-Ansari said:"Once I went to see Fatima (a) and I saw with her a tablet in which the names of the (al-awsiyaa’) executors of the wills were written. I then counted them to twelve. The last one’s name was al-Qa’im. The names of three of them was Muhammad and the names of another three was Ali. (al-Khisal Saduq, p. 477) And another from ghaybat Tusi which acts as a copy of the one from Khisal al-Saduq only that the one from Tusi mentions 12 names from sons of Fatimah in the will. Do we have more ahadith on the matter of the will tablet?
