(bismillah) (salam) masha'Allah!... this is the first thread that i've ever seen come to a fruitful end! ^_^ er...well, of course i only subscribe to 3 forums, so maybe thats not a fair analysis. and bro voice, judging from this thread, the coffee might last longer than the debate! It appears we are both looking for truth, and won't stall till we find it. And we may just get ourselves arrested for rallying protestors...and get ourselves killed for starting a radio station dedicated to denouncing wahabi-ism..loooool. My jihad is brazenly wearing hijab even tho i live in "red-neck" country, and talking to people one at a time as they cross my path...or stand in the same grocery store line. Usually the first question is about hijab, and i respond that i LOVE my hijab...for ONCE in my life, i am FINALLY liberated! (of course to the shock and dismay of the questioner that i am not oppressed, nor a foriegner) Ive been verbally attacked by "born-agains" who point their accusatory finger at me "You are going to HELL for leaving Jesus!"..... only to be stupified when i reply "Who left? for the Quran tells me 'And (Jesus) shall be a Sign for the coming of the Hour of Judgement: therefore have no doubt about the Hour, but you follow Me: this is a Straight Way." (Q. 43:61) Insha'Allah, that one person i talk to will talk to 2 or 4..and they will talk to 4 or 12...and they will talk to 8 or 48.......... Keep searching for the truth, bro voice, and dont keep quiet about it. fi aman illah, ws annie

(bismillah) heres some things that i thought might be interesting to your last comment, bro voice.. Those Who Deny the Crimes of the Past: Reflections on American Racist Atrocity Denial, 1776-2004 http://www.zmag.org/content/showarticle.cf...=15&ItemID=5135 ( i am aware this is not a religious listing...just an american one) and this one: All great nations have fallen. Where do you see america? = The average age of the world's greatest civilizations has been two hundred years. These nations have progressed through this sequence: From bondage to spiritual faith; from spiritual faith to great courage; from courage to liberty; from liberty to abundance; from abundance to selfishness; from selfishness to complacency; from complaceny to apathy; from apathy to dependence; from dependency back again into bondage. Sir Alex Fraser Tyler: (1742-1813) Scottish jurist and historian === oh...just read your response *deeply blushing*

(bismillah) Let's look at christianity. Most christians live a reasonably harmless life style and worship on sundays (maybe more devoted servants worship on wednesdays and saturdays too). Now, take notice that the opperative word here is *MOST*... but then you get an organized bunch of extremists such as the KKK who in their prime conducted hate crimes of many kinds to the foriegners, catholics and blacks: all in the name of God. These are the home-grown terrorists that NOW receive police protection when they rally in NYC. Hmmm... let's make a SMALL highlights list of "In the name of the Christian God" wars... The Spanish Empire in the New World was a disaster for Native Americans. The Spanish for their part could never really decide what to do with the Native Americans. On the one hand, they believed that they were introducing Native Americans to Christianity and to the arts of civilization and some believed that Native Americans had a right to their lands and should not be economically or politically exploited. This benign attitude was paternalistic: the Spanish would introduce Native Americans to salvation and school them in European civilization. On the other hand, the Spanish druthlessly massacred native populations and freely enslaved them in some of the most cruel slave practices ever seen on the face of the earth. The average Native American slave lasted barely a year under his or her Spanish masters. .......The history of the Catholic church throughout the Middle Ages and Renaissance is a history filled with spiritual, artistic, and intellectual triumphs as well as a history of tremendous abuses and doctrinal stupidities. From the very formation of the Christian church, there has been no such thing as a unified church. It's not unfair to say that the history of the medieval church is, by and large, one long history of heresies. The doctrines and churches of Christianity would fragment into a million separate pieces; thousands of gallons of blood would be spilled by Christians killing other Christians in European wars over religion; .........The French Wars of Religion: 1562-1598 .........On August 24, 1572, the day before St. Bartholomew's Day, royal forces hunted down and executed over three thousand Huguenots, including Coligny, in Paris. Within three days, royal and Guise armies had hunted down and executed over twenty thousand Huguenots in the single most bloody and systematic extermination of non-combatants in European history until World War II. The St. Bartholomew Massacre was a turning point in both French history and the history of the European Christian church. Protestants no longer viewed Catholicism as a misguided church, but as the force of the devil itself. No longer were Protestants fighting for a reformed church, but they suddenly saw themselves fighting for survival against a Catholic church whose cruelty and violence seemed to know no bounds. Throughout Europe, Protestant movements slowly transformed into militant movements. .........Henry III was stabbed to death by a fanatical, fury-driven Dominican friar in 1589. ok, the visual for that is amusing.... .........English civil war, .........the Thirty Years War. (1618-1648)After thirty years of untiring bloodshed, the war came to an end with the Treaty of Westphalia in 1648. The Treaty was not really an innovation; it simply reaffirmed the Treaty of Augsburg and allowed each state within the Holy Roman Empire to decide its own religion. The only important innovation of the treaty was the recognition of Calvinism. .........http://www.wsu.edu/~dee/REFORM/CONTENTS.HTM and now... Frankie Falwell has conviced G dubbya B that he, GWB, is the Messiah. as a new born-again christian, newly off heavy drinking and cocaine too, our brave and spiritual leader is sending the missionaries to iraq to save them from islam. These muslim 3rd-world inhabitants (thanks to periodic bombing, decade long sanctions, and manipulation of the market thru prohibiting the euro to take hold) need SALVATION!! First, we turn an ungrateful blind eye to the fact that it was the MUSLIM world that taught the european world about merchantilism, banking, algebra, chemistry and countless other things that succeeded in yanking the europeans out of primitive living.... Second, bomb them with radio-active bombs...sanction them, bomb them again "in the name of terrorism" in spite of the fact that not a SINGLE terrorist came out of iraq, and then send born-again christians in to civilize them....and third, if they dont listen or cooperate, no problem!... their souls have been "cleansed" with DU. The bottom line according to ALL religions... NOT just Islam, is that every religion has been victim of individuals with a quest for money and power. These arrogant individuals do not want to change their behavior for the good of ANYTHING...not for the good of the people around them, not for the environment, not for their own souls. Every religion has its egotistical, fanatical, radical, militant idiots. Shall i judge ALL of Christianity on the behavior of the spanish inquisitions and the KKK? There must be something WRONG with Christianity!! Why isn't Christianity DOING something about that??? The bottom line is that God blessed/burdened us with free will and now it is up to us to bear responsibility for our own souls. What kind of God would GIVE us free will and then prevent us from using it when He saw that we weren't using it to His liking? That would contradict "free will". The bottom line is that Christianity, Judaism, and Islam must be judged by their doctrines... not by the over-inflated, distorted egos that profess to practice the doctrines and provide obnoxious lip service and military service to prove it. All 3 religions are from Prophets Abraham, Moses, and Jesus (as). All 3 religions are peace, family, morally and justly based. God did not cause the literally HUNDREDS of splinters within the religions... MAN did, and maybe a woman or two  The GROTESQUE distortions of Islam came about about 400 years ago with Wahabi-ism..... and unfortunately has caused division and hatred within islam far deeper and more destructive than the initial sunni/shi'a divide. All sects are different, because they come from men; morality is everywhere the same, because it comes from God.: -Voltaire ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ fi aman illah, annie

assalamu alaykum, the war like text is greatly contradicting to quran.... it is extremely taken out of context. for a quick rundown, you must look at the great number of ayat in the qur'an that name the believers as christians, sabians, jews AND muslims. It is not all christians, sabians, jews and muslims that are believers....it is only the ones who "..... believe in Allah and the Last Day, and the Angels, and the Book, and the Messengers; to spend of your substance, out of love for Him, for your kin, for orphans, for the needy, for the wayfarer, for those who ask, and for the ransom of slaves; to be steadfast in prayer, and practice regular charity; to fulfil the contracts which you have made; and to be firm and patient, in pain (or suffering) and adversity and throughout all periods of panic. Such are the people of truth, those who fear Allah." (Q. 2:177) The Christians and Jews AND Muslims who have distorted their holy books, and taken their believe to erroneous directions are the non-believers. if you have a qur'an, look up surahs 2:108-115... the christians and jews who have turned their religion into something false...they have taken the magnificent messege sent down from prophets abraham (as) and moses (as) and distorted it. Those who did not distort it, are still guided. surah 2:121 describes a believer.... a christian believer. especially turn to 2:213 that describes us as a SINGLE nation... ALL required to submit to one God.. but "...except through selfish contumacy..." have deviated. It is not the RELIGION that has deviated..it is the INDIVIDUALS who have deviated. Are we not ALL of the religion of Prophet Abraham (as)? refer to surah 3:84 surah 3:16-18....... the believing jews, christians and muslims are ALL under this description. surah 3:113-115....GOOD believing christians.... an EXCELLENT example. MERCY AND GENTLE dealings with people...... surah 3:159.........and NO compulsion in religion : "Let there be no compulsion in religion: Truth stands out clear from error: whoever rejects Evil and believes in Allah has grasped the most trustworthy hand-hold, that never breaks..." (Q 2:256) surah 3:199..... GOOD christians and jews. surah 5: 46-49... use and goodness of the prior scriptures and WHY there is division........it is a test: how will you perform? Those who divide, FAIL; and those who UNITE will pass. surah 5:65-66 and ayat 69........ good jews, sabians and christians...... surah 5:82-83 BEAUTIFUL praise for believing Christians......... absolutely beautiful  surah 28:52-56......again believers There is enormous division among the christians, is there not?...so who is right? the unitarians or the trinitarians? ... how about the KKK? they are the militant christians. It is undeniable that all the God-based religions have been continuously under attack and distortion. It is the loudest and the most extreme that have made a bad name for all the religions. But the bottom line is that the truth exists in all the Revelations sent down by Allah (swt). There are many Christians that i know that study the Qur'an but are still christians. Their reasoning is that the Bible has continuously been attacked by arrogant power mongers who wish to distort the religion to fit their lifestyle. The quran has been preserved by Allah (swt) and each letter, dot, damma, hamza and sukuun has been DILIGENTLY preserved by the muslims to avoid the same mistake that happened to the bible. But, the corrupt powers that be, have had a free-for-all with the biographies, hadith, translations and many other texts. AlHamdulillah, the arabic qur'an is being so diligently guarded. There is a book on www.al-islam.org called "Islam in the Bible". This is quite an impressive works written by a BAPTIST. If this does nothing else, it shows that the truth CAN still be found in the Bible in SPITE of all of the efforts of the corrupt. In the end, you cannot believe any writing as 100% except the Qur'an. The text that openned this thread is not the qur'an. It is either incorrect, misinterpretted, or misrepresented. But one thing is for sure, it is written by a man who has inserted his OWN agenda, and that agenda is not in agreement with the Qur'an, and therefore, i reject it. Peace, annie
  5. (bismillah) (salam) Lantern of the Path by Abu 'Abdillah al-Imam Ja'far ibn Muhammad as-Sadiq (as) Section 8 Recognition of the Companions, Page 39 Do not forsake certainty for doubt, and what is clear for what is hidden. Do not pass judgement on what you cannot see because of something you are told about it. Allah (swt) despises slander and bad opinion of your believing brothers. What then does He think of boldness in attributing a false statement, false belief or lie to the Companions of the Messenger of Allah? As He said, When you welcomed it with your tongues, and spoke with your mouths that which you had no knowledge of, and you deemed it an easy matter while with Allah it was grievous. (Q. 24:15) As long as you can find a way to speak well and act well of people whether or not they are present. Do not do anything else. Allah (swt) said, Speak to men good words. (Q. 2:83) Know that Allah (swt) chose companions for His Holy Prophet (saw), and honored them with the noblest mark of honor and robed them in the robe of support, victory and the correct keeping of his company in desirable and undesirable situations. He made the tongue of His Holy Prophet (saw) speak about their virtues, excellent qualities and marks of honor; so believe in their love, mention their excellence, and beware of the company of people of innovation, for it will make disbelief and clear loss grow in the heart. If the excellence of some of them is not clear to you, then leave them to the Knower of the Unseen, and say, "O Allah (swt), I love anyone You and Your Messenger love, and I hate anyone You and Your Messenger hate." There is no obligation beyond that. ~~~~~~~~~~~ this is all i have to say, May Allah reward my dearest sister Sheema for guiding me far away from the fitnah. fi aman illah, annie
  6. Differences Between Islam And Christians

(bismillah) (salam) I like your thoughts too...honest. I was just talking about this subject recently with a different group.... When Jesus (as) was sent to the Jews, he was sent to preserve the law of Allah (swt) and abolish the traditions that the Jews had begun to practice as if the traditions were law. I believe it is in Matthew 15 "And why do you break the command of God for the sake of your tradition?..................Thus you nullify the word of God for the sake of your tradition. You hypocrites!" The same is happening here in Islam...tradition (hadith) is coming into favor OVER Qurán. Althought there is a place for tradition, it must NEVER take the place of the Qurán. fi aman illah ws annie
  7. Nahj al-Balagha

(bismillah) (salam) It is an ENORMOUS topic...just search "attributes" in al-islam and you will be busy for weeks or months. Not to mention Allama Tabataba'i writings among many other greats.....Baqir al-Sadr...... may Allah (swt) reward them for the beautiful use of the brilliance that they were blessed with. To use any limitations of any word for Allah (swt) we have to completely disgard any preconceived understanding of that word that we may have, and start anew. Just ponder the word "Mercy" in the human context.......and now remove the limitations, the preconceptions and the conditions that exist when "mercy" is shown to us from a fellow human.... can our minds even BEGIN to comprehend the Mercy from Allah (swt)?? We have to go through the undistracted, prolonged solitude to even experience the psychological progress that will include stages of despair that will then lead to a quietude that will THEN only allow us to BEGIN to sense the voice of our conscience that Allah (swt) can be sensed thru...... Think of the lives of the prophets (as) and realize the solitude they went thru before they revealed their magnificent message........even Jesus (as) who spoke as an infant knowing his mission had to undergo 40 days in the desert in solitude. Religion is not a debate. It is not a social event. It is not a war, a family, a book, or anything like it..... it is a spiritual NECESSITY. Brothers and Sisters, the immense JOY that is produced by feeling only a drop of what Allah (swt) has to offer is profound.......and yet we cannot find the words that even begin to describe it. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~Allahu Akbar ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Allahu Akbar ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Allahu Akbar
  8. Differences Between Islam And Christians

(bismillah) (salam) hmmmmmmmm... the differences between christians and christians is very pronounced, so that is not an easy answer. Unitarians and Jehovahs witnesses do NOT believe that Jesus (as) is God.... most of the other divisions believe in some form of the trinity. Unitarians do not believe in original sin, while most other divisions do. Most christians believe that Jesus (as) is the SON of God... ya know, the whole begetting thing. Personally, i like to learn the similarities so that i can approach dawah better. I recommend the book Islam in the Bible, by Thomas Mc Elwain. This book can be found on www.al-islam.org. It was written by a baptist man, and mashaállah is enlightening. I hope that gets you started in some direction for research, inshaállah. fi aman illah ws annie
  9. Nahj al-Balagha

(bismillah) (salam) there are "Attributes"...such as a hand, feet and face... implying a visual and a limitation. THESE are absolutely wrong. When they are used in the qur'an, it is not to be taken literally. In these areas, we are simply being given words that we can comprehend within our limited capacity. there are "Attributes of Action" that are the er... "bestowments" (for lack of a better word) that Allah (swt) gives to His creation such as mercy, compassion, guidance...etc.. and there are "Attributes of Essence" that ARE Allah's (swt) being......and NONE of the essences are limited attributes. Allah (swt) is the SOURCE of knowledge, omnipotence, omnipresence.... that is why we say ALL-hearing, ALL knowing, ALL-seeing, ALL, ALL, ALL, ALL.... there are NO limits or boundries. We have eyes, and have the physical limitations of those eyes...we cannot see everything or see thru everything, and limited by distance and air quality... (i hope you get what im attempting to convey) Allah (swt) does not, now or ever, have the limitations of such things. Even if i attempt to imagine what "ALL" is, my limited knowledge and imagination is STILL not enough.......Allah (swt) cannot be limited by the most profound of minds and imaginations. I cannot even find the sufficient words to explain "ALL" and the limit-LESS-ness of Allah (swt)...... it is simply beyond human comprehension. Hmm.. i hope i explained some, insha'Allah. fi aman illah ws annie
  10. Im dying inside and i need your help

(bismillah) (salam) sis, wearing perfect hijab is certainly an excellent thing to do to represent the ummah........ we will not hide. the quran tells us "patience, perseverence and prayer" . sometimes its the hardest thing to do because we feel we have to ACTIVELY help... and initially, prayer seems too passive. sister, you are feeling and suffering for the ummah.... you will be recognized for it.
  11. Congratulations!

(salam) um... in case anyone is interested... total of 4 calves to date born.... 3 boys and 1 girl. only 13 more to go. sis jtlinqatar... congrats!!.... let me know more! inshaállah... we have 3 that we are worried about too. the mommas are small and its their first calves. for us, the death of one cow or calf is the loss of an entire weeks income.
  12. For BroSalmany

    1. please show me where i have jumped to conclusions. My post is a series of questions, not a series of accusations nor a series of conclusions. 2. please show me where my feelings have been hurt. This entire thread is not about me... it is about creating fitnah 3. My conclusion: You are an arrogant, disrespectful little brat who has jumped to the conclusion that i was actually talking to you. and i repeat... this forum is spiraling to all time lows. If i dont come here, its not for some thin skinned hurt feelings. Its because my time is wasted on a bunch of disrespectful juvienilles who have obviously lost sight on what Islam is REALLY about. Finally, the purpose for my post, in spite of your assumption, was to stand with Brother Salmany. He is a good brother to all of us. Don't bother responding... without bro salmany in this thread, its not worth the click of the mouse to come here.
  13. For BroSalmany

(bismillah) (salam) Could someone please tell me the PURPOSE of this thread??... Is it to attempt to discredit our good bro? Do you feel that no one is as good as you unless they follow exactly what you follow? Do you realise that it is Bro Salmany that attracts many of the shiachatters because of his level-headed, straight-forward approach to debating? Have you become so bored with the REAL enemies of islam that you decided to pick on one of our own good bros?? This forum has stooped to a whole new low.
  14. Congratulations!

(salam) congratulations. I have children your age... Real children, AND i actually WORK on a farm. I teach my children, when they get snotty like you, "If you cant say something nice, then don't say anything at all." Those that actually KNOW me, have commented appropriately... they KNOW my children, they KNOW i own and operate a farm( ie. it is my INCOME), they KNOW that i volunteer at animal shelters, they KNOW that i spend countless hours with other people's children. And now, i will tell you.... before negative sarcasim is used, know where the receiver of the sarcasim is coming from. Do you understand?
  15. Congratulations!

(bismillah) (salam) I cannot tell a lie........ the answer is d. and last night we had ANOTHER boy!!... so thats 2 boys in one day! 15 more to go!.................. I have FOUR incomprehensible rewards... it would be nice to have more, but hey, 15 more?? :o
