  1. Is this Knowledge (Ilm) ?

Tafakkur is a deed. Surah Aal-e-Imran, Verse 190: إِنَّ فِي خَلْقِ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ وَاخْتِلَافِ اللَّيْلِ وَالنَّهَارِ لَآيَاتٍ لِّأُولِي الْأَلْبَابِ Most surely in the creation of the heavens and the earth and the alternation of the night and the day there are signs for men who understand. Those who remember Allah standing and sitting and lying on their sides and reflect on the creation of the heavens and the earth: Our Lord! Thou hast not created this in vain! Glory be to Thee; save us then from the chastisement of the fire: (English - Shakir) You can see brother, dhikr & tafakkur are deeds. Salat (prayer) is also a form of dhikr, Quran is dhikr. Surah Taha, Verse 14: إِنَّنِي أَنَا اللَّهُ لَا إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا أَنَا فَاعْبُدْنِي وَأَقِمِ الصَّلَاةَ لِذِكْرِي Surely I am Allah, there is no god but I, therefore serve Me and keep up prayer for My remembrance: (English - Shakir)
  2. Is this Knowledge (Ilm) ?

It is not just information (khabar), it is knowledge. How this knowledge relates to deeds can be understood with the help of these verses: Surah Ar-Room, Verse 7: يَعْلَمُونَ ظَاهِرًا مِّنَ الْحَيَاةِ الدُّنْيَا وَهُمْ عَنِ الْآخِرَةِ هُمْ غَافِلُونَ They know the outward of this world's life, but of the hereafter they are absolutely heedless. Do they not reflect within themselves: Allah did not create the heavens and the earth and what is between them two but with truth, and (for) an appointed term? And most surely most of the people are deniers of the meeting of their Lord. (English - Shakir)
  3. Yes Brother, the words "haqq" as well as "meezan" اللَّهُ الَّذِي أَنزَلَ الْكِتَابَ بِالْحَقِّ وَالْمِيزَانَ وَمَا يُدْرِيكَ لَعَلَّ السَّاعَةَ قَرِيبٌ Allah it is Who revealed the Book with truth, and the balance, and what shall make you know that haply the hour be nigh? (42:17) لَقَدْ أَرْسَلْنَا رُسُلَنَا بِالْبَيِّنَاتِ وَأَنزَلْنَا مَعَهُمُ الْكِتَابَ وَالْمِيزَانَ لِيَقُومَ النَّاسُ بِالْقِسْطِ Certainly We sent Our apostles with clear arguments, and sent down with them the Book and the balance that men may conduct themselves with equity; (57:25) But the verses of Chapter 43 always remain in my sight. إِنَّا أَنزَلْنَاهُ قُرْآنًا عَرَبِيًّا لَّعَلَّكُمْ تَعْقِلُونَ وَإِنَّهُ فِي أُمِّ الْكِتَابِ لَدَيْنَا لَعَلِيٌّ حَكِيمٌ Surely We have made it an Arabic Quran that you may understand. And surely it is in the original of the Book with Us, truly elevated, full of wisdom. (43:3-4) Again, I dont want to do tafseer bir-raye, just recite these verses & takes the taste of phrase "La-Aliyyun Hakeem". This is the level of Quran with Allah, I know one more "Aliyyun Hakeem"... a person whose name is "Ali" and he is also a "Hakeem".
  4. We human beings are open systems, we need continuous interaction with environment to survive. The environment of space is not suitable for us, hence it seems impossible that we would evolve such organs which help us to survive up there. We are built to live on earth, that is the truth, we must remember that fact. And we should also remember the fact that everything has a fate, including this whole universe. So if we start planning to leave earth now, we would need to plan to leave the milky way galaxy afterwards....
  5. "So Stephen Hawking says we'll need to get off-planet within 100 years. He may be right, or not. We may live on Mars or the moon, or not. Either way, space is physically tough on humans. Will we biologically evolve?" https://www.google.com.pk/amp/amp.dw.com/en/will-we-evolve-to-adapt-to-life-in-space/a-38756815 What do you think?
  6. What do you say about reflexes (e.g., root reflex, suck reflex, moro reflex etc.) of newborn? Are infant reflexes left over from evolutionary processes that fade away as the infant evolves into a higher being?
  7. Some times, it gives me the impression that "Al-Kitab" as well as "Quran" is also used for those blessed personalities whom we are following. بَلْ هُوَ آيَاتٌ بَيِّنَاتٌ فِي صُدُورِ الَّذِينَ أُوتُوا الْعِلْمَ وَمَا يَجْحَدُ بِآيَاتِنَا إِلَّا الظَّالِمُونَ Nay! these are clear communications in the breasts of those who are granted knowledge; and none deny Our communications except the unjust. (29:49) The quloob of those blessed personalities are like Kitab, their wajood represents Quran. The word "Hatha" before Quran, also contain depth and its meanings are not fixed, some verses gives a totally different impression of "hatha". وَقَالَ الرَّسُولُ يَا رَبِّ إِنَّ قَوْمِي اتَّخَذُوا هَذَا الْقُرْآنَ مَهْجُورًا And the Apostle cried out: O my Lord! surely my people have treated this Quran as a forsaken thing (25:30) Here, seems to me as like the Quran is standing beside Prophet, in a totally different shape & appearance I don't want to do tafseer of any verse here from my own, just giving you my personal thoughts.
  8. What are the possible meanings of word "Kitab" in Quranic Arabic? It appears that it has a wide range of meanings e.g., كِتَابٌ مَّرْقُومٌ Written Book (83:20) كِتَابٌ مَّعْلُومٌ Term made known (15:4) كِتَابٌ يَنطِقُ بِالْحَقِّ Book which speaks with truth لَكِتَابٌ عَزِيزٌ A Mighty Book (41:41) كِتَابٌ حَفِيظٌ A writing that preserves (50:4) And today while I was reciting the chapter 27, I found that the same word "Kitab" is used in the meaning of letter. كِتَابٌ كَرِيمٌ Honorable Letter (27:29) اذْهَب بِّكِتَابِي هَذَا فَأَلْقِهْ إِلَيْهِمْ ثُمَّ تَوَلَّ عَنْهُمْ فَانظُرْ مَاذَا يَرْجِعُونَ قَالَتْ يَا أَيُّهَا المَلَأُ إِنِّي أُلْقِيَ إِلَيَّ كِتَابٌ كَرِيمٌ So as per translations, "Kitab" possibly means "Book", "Record", "Writing", "Letter", "Term"... Please share with me if you know more possible meanings of word "Kitab" or its root word "Ka Ta Ba"..
  9. Is burning in hell actually mercy of Allah.

Sura e Hud is mentioning something different: فَأَمَّا الَّذِينَ شَقُواْ فَفِي النَّارِ لَهُمْ فِيهَا زَفِيرٌ وَشَهِيقٌ So as to those who are unhappy, they shall be in the fire, for them shall be sighing and groaning in it. (11:106) خَالِدِينَ فِيهَا مَا دَامَتِ السَّمَاوَاتُ وَالأَرْضُ إِلاَّ مَا شَاء رَبُّكَ إِنَّ رَبَّكَ فَعَّالٌ لِّمَا يُرِيدُ Abiding therein so long as the heavens and the earth endure, except as your Lord please; surely your Lord is the mighty doer of what He intends. (11:107) 11:107 mentions chance of exceptions, so may be there are some who manage to get out of that severe pain, and that would be nothing but the mercy of Allah (s.w.t) on them.
  10. Eid-e-Zehra

Never celebrated that day as eid... Just remember that day and bring end to azadari of Imam Hussain (asws)..
  11. Must a Muslim love God?

Have you not seen the Arabic text right above the translation? Secondly, What is wrong in the translation of that verse? There is nothing wrong in it. I don't care who Shakir is, until he is translating the Arabic text correctly.
  12. @Mishael, Please read the thread shared by brother @Kazemi. I think you need this.
  13. @Kazemi, brother can you advise me any remedy for treating mental illness and psychological disorders?
  14. Must a Muslim love God?

I am not depending on translation, the Arabic text of verse is itself enough.
