  1. Noha e Imam Hussain a.s

May the Almighty Lord give best reward to these azadaaran e Imam e mazloom (a.s), protect them & increase their toufeqaat & love for Ahlul Bayt (a.s)
  2. Sending Salutations

Wa Alaikum Salam Sister, Instead of using programs for sending salutations to Imam Hussain (a.s), I would suggest you to recite the durood 100 times a day (at least), by doing that you will sending the salutation to all i.e., Prophet (pbuh) & his Ahlul Bayt (a.s) You can recite the Ziarat-e-Ashura for sending salutations to Imam Hussain (a.s), you can also recite any chapter of Quran or offer two raka'at prayers & hadiya (to give as gift) it to Imam-e-Mazloom (a.s) If you don't know the durood & unable to read Arabic, I am writing it for you in Roman Arabic as follows: Allahumma sallay ala Muhammadin wa Aal-e-Muhammad Or Allahumma sallay ala Muhammad, wa Aal-e-Muhammad
  3. Karbala in light of 18:28

So if anyone want to know how to act upon this verse, he should visit the pages of Islamic history & study Karbala. See how companions of Imam Hussain were acting upon "wasbir nafsaka ma'aalladhina", see how they were acting upon "wala ta'du ainaka anhum", see how they were sacrifying "Al-maalo wal banoon" on the one of "alladhina" i.e., Imam Hussain a.s
  4. Karbala in light of 18:28

This verse is mohkam in the sense that we can see clear commands of Allah specifically "wasbir nafsaka ma'aalladhina" & "wala tute'e mun aghfalna qalbohu". We see this is what Imam Hussain & his companions were doing. They were acting upon these commands of "wala tute'e mun aghfalna" & "wasbir nafsaka ma'aalladhina".
  5. Karbala in light of 18:28

And withhold yourself with those who call on their Lord morning and evening desiring His goodwill, and let not your eyes pass from them, desiring the beauties of this world's life; and do not follow him whose heart We have made unmindful to Our remembrance, and he follows his low desires and his case is one in which due bounds are exceeded. (English - Shakir) "Asbab e Nazool Qummi says in his commentary that this verse was revealed when A-inya bin Hasin asked the Holy Prophet to send away Salman whenever he or wealthy people like him came to see him because the social status of a poor man like Salman who had only one garment did not justify his presence among them. The Holy Prophet recited this verse and added: "Salman is one of my Ahl ul Bayt." It was a distinction which no other companion had ever enjoyed. Aqa Mahdi Puya says: The Holy Prophet, who only followed the revelations (Najm: 4), never paid any attention to the loose talk of those who have been referred to in this verse, in Al Qalam: 10 to 15 and in the early verses of al Ahzab. The qualities described in this verse refer to the ulil amr whose obedience has been made obligatory." Irrespective of asbab e nazool, this verse always reminds me Karbala. Imam e Mazloom (a.s) and his devoted & sincere ashaab have demostrated the true tafseer of this verse. The "alladhina" in this verse is similar to the "alladhina" of Al-Fatiha. The bolded part of this verse is showing what the ashaab of Imam Hussain (a.s) did, who never turned their eyes from their Imam & remained patient with him. They sacrificed the "zeenat" of this worldly life on their Imam. The "zeenat" of this worldly life has been mentioned in the same chapter as: Surah Al-Kahf, Verse 46: الْمَالُ وَالْبَنُونَ زِينَةُ الْحَيَاةِ الدُّنْيَا Wealth and children are an adornment of the life of this world; (English - Shakir) They sacrificed their lives along with the their sons (banoon) & slaves (maal).
  6. what your right hands possessed?

No, the wife (temporary or permanent) does not come under "ma malakat aimanukum". The word "Aimaanukum" if used with the "Malakat" cannot mean "vow". It would mean what you rightfully possess or what your right hand possess. Can we say after marrying any woman that we possess her? Women after marriage, do not become our milk. Lets see another verse: ضَرَبَ لَكُم مَّثَلًا مِنْ أَنفُسِكُمْ هَل لَّكُم مِّن مَّا مَلَكَتْ أَيْمَانُكُم مِّن شُرَكَاء فِي مَا رَزَقْنَاكُمْ 30:28 He propounds unto you a parable drawn from your own selves: Would you [agree to] have some of those whom your right hands possess as partners in whatever We may have bestowed upon you as sustenance.
  7. what your right hands possessed?

I think the following verse will give you the better idea of the meaning of word "Yameenuk", "Aimanukum" يَا أَيُّهَا النَّبِيُّ إِنَّا أَحْلَلْنَا لَكَ أَزْوَاجَكَ اللَّاتِي آتَيْتَ أُجُورَهُنَّ وَمَا مَلَكَتْ يَمِينُكَ مِمَّا أَفَاء اللَّهُ 33:50 O PROPHET! Behold, We have made lawful to thee thy wives unto whom thou hast paid their dowers, as well as those whom thy right hand has come to possess from among the captives of war whom God has bestowed upon thee.

  9. Dhikr Allah

Try to remain in the state of wudhu throughout the day. "Verily Allah loves those who turn unto Him in repentance and He loves those who keep themselves pure" (2:222) If anything causes to break your wudhu (like toilet use, etc.), you can do wudhu again with the intention of "Qurbatan ilallah". May Allah grants us the toufeeq to maintain the purity of our bodies & souls.

  12. Understanding Muharram and 'Ashura

In verse 107 the sacrifice with which Ismail was ransomed is described as great by Allah, therefore it must be great in absolute degree. An ordinary ram by no means, in any sense whatsoever, can be termed as great; moreover under no circumstances a ram can be greater than Ismail son of Ibrahim, both the most distinguished prophets of Allah, in whose progeny Allah had appointed His divinely commissioned Imams (see commentary of Baqarah : 124). The ransom, therefore, is essentially a great sacrifice Allah had kept in store for future when the religion of Allah would be perfected and completed after the advent of the Holy Prophet. It was indeed a great and momentous occasion when two men of God stood ready to offer to Allah that which was dearest to them to seek His pleasure, then Allah puts off this great manifestation of "devotion and surrender to His will" which was the real purpose of the trial (not blood and flesh) to a future date, so that the "devotion and surrender to Allah's will" should be demonstrated in a greater style and degree than what Ibrahim and Ismail could. This type of service Imam Husayn performed, many ages later, in 60 A.H., and as he was a descendant of Ibrahim and Ismail the credit of "the great sacrifice" goes to them also. For the great sacrifice of Imam Husayn read the biography of Imam Husayn published by our Trust, a close study of which makes clear that his sacrifice has been rightly mentioned as dhibhin azim in this verse. Aqa Mahdi Puya says: Shah Wali-ullah, in Sirrush Shahadaytan, and many other well known authors of traditions and history have accepted the fact that dhibhin azim refers to the sacrifice of Imam Husayn.
  13. Understanding Muharram and 'Ashura

Muharrum as well as Safar are the months specific for remembering the tragedy of Karbala, the sufferings of Ahlul Bayt (a.s) 18th Dhulhajja was the day of perfection of Islam (alyouma akmalto lakum deenokum), 10th Muharram was the day of protection of Islam. This is the month of "Zibhe Azeem": Surah As-Saaffat, Verse 107: وَفَدَيْنَاهُ بِذِبْحٍ عَظِيمٍ And We ransomed him with a Feat sacrifice. (English - Shakir) Those who have offered the sacrifices of their lives & their belongings, were the beloved of Allah, His Apostle (pbuh), Amirul Momineen (a.s) & Syeda Fatima (s.a).

  15. Quran 30:04 Translation

A few years. You can see the same phrase in the following verse too: Surah Yusuf, Verse 42: وَقَالَ لِلَّذِي ظَنَّ أَنَّهُ نَاجٍ مِّنْهُمَا اذْكُرْنِي عِندَ رَبِّكَ فَأَنسَاهُ الشَّيْطَانُ ذِكْرَ رَبِّهِ فَلَبِثَ فِي السِّجْنِ بِضْعَ سِنِينَ And he said to him whom he knew would be delivered of the two: Remember me with your lord; but the Shaitan caused him to forget mentioning (it) to his lord, so he remained in the prison a few years. (English - Shakir)
