  1. Bring a fatwa, I have a hard time believing this remotely acceptable in Islam. If it is, just because it's halal, doesn't make it right
  2. According to whom? The Quran says nothing about that.
  3. I have never heard of that and I call nonsense on that, most maraji say men have to fulfill the emotional and sexual needs of the wife as well. Finances are but only one part of a marriage. Your husband is not allowed to have favorites, period.
  4. "Marry women of your choice, Two or three or four; but if ye fear that ye shall not be able to deal justly (with them), then only one, or (a captive) that your right hands possess, that will be more suitable, to prevent you from doing injustice." (4:3) @Rayhana80 ^^^^ You're right, he has a right but only under certain conditions...
  5. Favoritism is injustice and haram, is it not?
  6. Which marja? Not all of them agree.
  7. She is lashing and "crazy" out because she is hurt and stressed out by you being in the picture and you don't really seem to get it. I pity the both of you, seems to me, from everything I've read up until now that this man used the both of you “…then marry [other] women, who seem virtuous to you, two or three or four; and if you fear that you cannot do them justice, then one [only]…”1 This verse gives permission for polygamy on the condition that there is no likelihood of refraining to observe fairness and justice, which is rather unfeasible and very hard to attain. A man who has more than one wife is obligated to observe equality, justice, and fairness among his wives in the amount, type, and quality of nafaqah, sexual enjoyment and intercourse, and even in mannerism. It is the duty of polygamous men to behave comparably in all events, even if their wives are different in age, beauty, character, social status, and other virtues and perfections. It is clear that completely adhering to justice and fairness is quite challenging and few men can be sure about their ability to shoulder such heavy responsibilities whereas the Quran makes it quite clear that if they doubt their ability to behave equally and justly with their wives, they should suffice themselves with one wife. Consequently, polygamy in Islam is a very onerous and high-liability undertaking, something that most men are not competent enough to accomplish. @Rayhana80 There is definite favoritism from what you told us^ Read this link: https://www.al-islam.org/introduction-rights-and-duties-women-islam-ayatullah-ibrahim-amini/islam-and-polygamy#conditions-polygamy
  8. Sis, it's not all about you. If you support him, great, I am glad but your husband probably married you without permission from his wife.

Do Shias get along better with Sunnis or Ibadis?

@ChristianVisitor This is a better video on the Ibadi, the other video is just a robot voice reading the Ibadi Wikipedia article: I personally never met an Ibadi but I am sure that I would get along with them just fine.

Becoming police officer in western country?

To a degree or depends aren't answers. They certainly won't be when you or your family are in danger. Then move, California is a big state and America is a very big country. Even better if you stop acting distrustful of them, there won't be a reason to feel insecure around cops. Not everything is about the Rothschild family, take off the tinfoil hat for once. The police work for their countries, not rich Jews in Europe

    **Ramadan 2018 General Discussion/Plans/Iftar**

I am sorry to hear that, better that than having to Ramadan fasting to family who don't understand/care and keep repeating the same questions over and over again.

    Yanny or Laurel?

Well, I am hearing impaired from all the jets flying by my house when I was a kid. Even with hearing aids, it's still laurel. I can hear a slight yanny but it only lasts like a millisecond, throughout the clip, it's laurel. If you think it's yanny throughout the video, your hearing is worse than mine.

Do Shias get along better with Sunnis or Ibadis?

Thank you, the map is very useful for understanding. You would think this would have been from people of Kerman, since they are descendants of Arabs (Banu Abdul Qays) forcibly moved there by Shapur II.

    Multiple Wives in the US

Salaam, so this may seem like another permissibly of polygamy thread , but I can tell you isn't. Rather, I thought I would ask a different question, how prevalent or common are polygamous marriages in US Muslim communities today and how are they actually done in said communities? Especially since Reynolds v. US (1878) outlawed it, based on the principle that "The court considered that if polygamy was allowed, someone might eventually argue that human sacrifice was a necessary part of their religion, and "to permit this would be to make the professed doctrines of religious belief superior to the law of the land, and in effect to permit every citizen to become a law unto himself." furthermore "the legislative powers of the government reach actions only, and not opinions.", although the United States cannot make laws against religious beliefs or laws in favor of certain religious, the law can and will laws against practices if they are counter productive to society and indefensible in light of the First Amendment. (Freedom of speech) Hence the Supreme Court said the following: I've always wondered about this and now even more so after reading about Reynolds v. US. How common is polygamy?

    Multiple Wives in the US

In this day and age, both partners ideally should have an independent source of income. Which I know flies in the face of what several maraji have ruled.

Didn't their families marry people from Ahwaz? If they didn't, then I don't understand the claim.

@Ashvazdanghe I agree as well, it is the Persian Gulf. Even the Arab civilizations that lived in the Eastern part of Arabia had been under Persian influence since the time of the Achaemenid Dynasty.

I watched bits of it in Japanese, I find English dub strangely irritating but I haven't watched Death Note in it's entirety.

Why are you surprised? This is basic common sense.
