  5. (bismillah) (salam) as much as I believe that keeping a beard is important (atleast for me personally), I feel that the inner is more important than the outer. meaning the batin is more important than the zahir. Iman and piety should grow from within and work its way out. regardless if a person has a beard or not I dont think their status is elevated. Looks and outward appearances mean nothing, because what is most important is what lies in your HEART and THAT is with Allah (azza wa jal). Most people now a days use outward appearances as a measuring tool to measure someone's religiousity..... nonesense...
  6. Shia Mosque in Houston Texas?

(bismillah) (salam) IEC is good and so is the other big shia'a masjid they built on Beltway 8 and Bissonett known as IPF (Islamic Propogation Foundation). New masjid just opened in Ramadhan of last year and the Imam is Seyyed Zaki masha'Allah. (salam)

  11. A Visit to Imam Khomeini's House

(bismillah) are you intending to say that Imam Khomeini (qas) led an oppressive regime and government??? Aoudhubillah ya akhi......... You should very much be careful as to how you refer to such eminent figures because you will be heavily asked about it and judged on it on Yawm-ul-Qiyyamah..... wallahu Alim... (salam)
  12. A Visit to Imam Khomeini's House

(bismillah) (salam) Subhan'Allah.......I'm left speechless................................. All I guess I'm left to say is... "Ya Mahdi, adrikni adrikni adrikni, al-ajal, al-ajal, al-ajal..." (salam) Afrooz
  14. "Depends on who she's with, how she acts and is dressed" you guys are totally blowing this out of proportion. (did i spell that right). sheesha, argileh, ghelyoon, hooka, whatever you wanna call it, it's just for fun and recreation. For many families, it's a form of gathering to enjoy eachothers company.... seriously though, some of the options for this poll we're a little bit outrageously harsh if you ask me. How can you label someone a "ho" for smoking in public????? interesting how today the general Muslim Ummah has become so keen on judging others when internally we are all suffering one way or the other. Let's focus on each of us individually, and build stronger characters and stronger "internal" iman before we go judging people based on their external actions. We must remember and reflect that islam is not only an exoteric religion but a very very "escoteric" way of life. and I end with saying "wallahu alim".... wa salaamu alaykum Afrooz YA ALI....
  15. A Visit to Imam Khomeini's House

Subhan'Allah that story was very very moving and very uplifting... if only he was around today.....the world would be such a better place...... we lost a truly beautifully lit candle in this world, who gave off so much needed light and guidance...we can only try to learn from him and his way....which was in essence the way of the Rasul (saws) and his A'emeh (as)
